Our server was super friendly and informed us of their custom sides and made sure I was okay with the matcha powder containing some dairy. My husband had the grapes (covered in a fruit sauce/icing and nuts) for his side and I went with the tomatoes with feta. Cute and cozy local coffee shop that has been around for forever. Many memories of dates and family events here. It is a smaller cafe so on the weekends it might be helpful to call ahead and see the availability. Lots of great natural light no matter where you sit and there is a small clean restroom. They serve Collectivo coffee from MKE and Omega Brewing beer from Omro. One of my favorite things to get here is their giant pieces of moist coffee cake. The portions are huge and everything is freshly made with care. We stopped back in this week and had the Moroccan ham sandwich, the newer Kimchi Reuben, and the corned beef and hash. There is always great service here and they let you hang around and visit with your company without feeling like a burden. read more

Wow, out band was travelling through and thought this was just a diner but it turned out to be next level. In house brewer $4 kombucha?! We all got different plates and it was all excellent and creative. I had the Kimchi Reuben which is clever, pickling the expected cabbage with a little tang, the tomato and feta side matched well. The Frittata looked amazing, but I didn't get to taste it. Even the steak in the steak and eggs was cooked to a proper medium rare and big thick and proper. Cornbread pancake was a bonus too. I searched for a good place to have some lunch and this restaurant came up. I saw the reviews and I decided to give them a shot. It is first come first serve, so you don't have to wait to be seated. There may be a line but when I came, it was just me waiting. I asked for the latte of the day and it did not disappoint. Very good! I asked the ladies next to me what they were having and she had the chicken sandwich and she told me it was great so I went with her suggestion and it did mot disappoint. The sandwich took a bit longer than normal but the service was great. If I ever drive thru this city again, I would definitely stop by. read more

How is this place real? I've traveled to a lot of places in Wisconsin but I haven't seen many (probably 1 or two) restaurant like Pilora in Wisconsin. I will admit, considering Wisconsin is the cheese state, I did not expect to see that there would be Moroccan chicken for breakfast or as a lunch option- that really took me by surprise. My husband and I decided to check it out on a rainy Saturday morning. We almost didn't go because we were going to leave it for Sunday but we were super thankful we went Saturday because it turns out they are closed on Sunday and Monday (good think to keep in mind!). I really thought it would be absolutely slammed inside and to an extension, it was. There was a twenty minute wait and if you're with two hangry toddlers, then you know twenty minutes feels like two hours but thank Goodness. The hostess was really sweet and seated us as soon as a seat became available. Not just that, she also asked us if we wanted a high chair and made sure that the high chair was at the table before we got there to avoid "traffic" between people leaving, us sitting down and servers bringing food. Loved, loved, loved that! In addition, they were super accommodating about our stroller and provided a small area for us to put our stroller away. In that sense, service was amazing. The waitress came as soon as we were seated to give us the menu. We ordered food for the kids right away- they do not have a kids menu so we just ordered eggs and hash browns for the kids. One of the other main reasons I wanted to go here is because they have collectivo coffee and I am a huge cappuccino lover so first thing is first, give me allllll the cappuccino! My husband ordered the cappuccino while I took my son to the bathroom. I have 2 complaints about this restaurant but none of them are related to food. I really try to give a restaurant the benefit of the doubt and be well rounded in my review but since becoming a parent, I am more mindful of amenities offered by the restaurant that makes parents lives easier so that that may enjoy the restaurant experience more. My one year old needed a diaper change and there was no changing table in the bathroom. I wish there was- I get it, not all businesses have a lot of children come by but it was a bit of an inconvenience to leave my hot coffee to go out to the car to change his diaper and come back to a not so hot coffee. The other thing I was a little disappointed about was that they didn't offer a coloring page for their little clientele. Again. I understand if a business doesn't have much traffic in terms of children consumers but it would've been nice if it was something offered. It would have definitely been the topping on the cake. I'm giving this restaurant 5 stars despite these two things because I think aside from that, they would definitely be on my top 5 best restaurants I've ever been to. The service, the atmosphere, the decor, the food and the coffee was just so great. As for the food, I ordered the lobsters Benedict and my husband ordered steak and eggs. I love lobster but I can't say I've ever had amazing lobster breakfast meals that left an amazing mark but let me tell you, the lobster Benedict at Pilora was WOW. Saying it was amazing is an understatement- they were generous with the lobster portions over garlic bread and easy over egg. I savored every bite- my husband asked to try and I selfishly gave him a small piece because it was so good. I'm still thinking about it now. I've never had a better breakfast meal in all my years of yelping. It was well seasoned, well cooked and with the garlic bread, it just melted in your mouth. I would eat it for every meal if I could! The lobster Benedict came with a side of fruit salad that was essentially grapes, pecan and yogurt. It was so good, my husband who's not a pecan lover couldn't stop munching on it. My husbands steak and eggs were good too- however his hash brown was so good. He also had a choice of fruit but instead went with feta and tomatoes. We eat a different type of feta at home that is more "wet"whereas the feta at Pilora was more dry. Either way, we loved the feta at Pilora mores it was so tasty and different (a lot more light and refreshing) from what we usually eat that we asked the waitress where we could buy it. We've never had hasbrowns like that- actually the restaurant calls them Pilora Potatoes but it's hash browns aka hasbrown heaven. They put a little cheese in between the hash browns and then when you take a bite, it's amazing. Absolutely no self control when eating the hasbrowns. I wish we lived closer so I could go there more often to explore the rest of the menu. As for the coffee, it was amazing. It was so well made and a perfect balance of coffee and milk. We had the homemade carrot cake offered by Pilora after breakfast and with coffee it was a match made in paradise. So, so, so good. Don't leave without trying it. read more

Stopped in on a whim to have one of the best brunches our family has had in a long time. Moderately quiet diner with relatively fast, but not overbearing service. We ordered the french toast and eggs benedict. Each dish came with a signature salad. I screwed up my order and selected the tomato and feta salad. I hate tomatoes. But this salad was seasoned so well and blended nicely with the feta cheese, I ate the entire thing. The eggs benedict and french toast were equally really good. Having the eggs over garlic bread is an interesting choice, but it worked out so well. I wish we had this type of creativity back home in California. read more

Much nicer atmosphere than most area restaurants. Less sugary accents compared to my last visit here, yay. My father had the cornmeal pancake, which was very heavy. The side dish offerings allow you to put together a plate that will meet most diets (keto, gluten free, etc.). This part of Wisconsin has restaurants striving to be in a class of cultural creative slightly upmarket restaurants. Very few understand what that involves. I was in Oshkosh for a work trip and stumbled across Pilora's one day for breakfast. I am writing this review a few months later because I still think about how good this food was. The ham eggs Benedict is 10/10. I love eggs Benedict and this was one of the best I have ever had. The glazed grapes were delicious as well. I went back the next day and got the Cajun chicken sandwich which I didn't think would be as good as the eggs Benedict, and it was another 10/10!! I have my speeding ticket to thank for discovering this little gem. After leaving the courthouse I was feeling slightly famished and discovered this place through yelp. Walking in the cafe gives off a quaint and homey vibe that was nice and relaxing. I had the Athens beef sandwich which wasn't the most complex sandwich but was made with fresh ingredients and really hit the spot. My girlfriend got the Mac and cheese with a side of beer cheese soup. It wasn't the best Mac I've had, a little basic but you can never really mess up some Mac and cheese. The soup was great that was filled with all sorts of strong and creamy flavor. Also I HIGHLY recommend trying the hot chocolate, we shared one and it was the BEST hot chocolate I've ever had. read more

The breakfast burrito can be customized to your liking as all food is made to order. I had it beef hash style at the recommendation of our server. It was served up with a spot of hollandaise sauce and it was fantastic! I love breakfast burritos and enjoy them weekly. This one ranks high on my all-time list. Daughter had the beef hash, which she very much enjoyed. Wife had the eggs benedict florantine, which she loved. The side of grapes tossed in yogurt and granola are good and fun. I had a double shot of espresso that was excellent. The shot was sweet, nicely exposed the fruit flavors in the coffee without being too strong and wasn't bitter. Pilora's uses high quality coffee beans, industrial grinders and a top notch espresso machine. All that is great, but it takes real skill to pull a good shot of espresso and the young women barista has it! We had a very enjoyable experience at Pilora's and would love to go again! First time here and they took us on short notice for a party of seven. We immediately noticed the coffee bar and they let us partake while waiting for our table. Seated almost immediately two of us enjoyed bloody Marys while the rest enjoyed the wonderful coffee. Breakfast served all day, we all took advantage of that, service was prompt fast as well as the eating of everything was the same. Our friendly wait staff did not leave us unattended or over serve us and we enjoyed our conversation. The quiche looked good, but I've never had anything like these cornbread pancakes. I don't know what else is on the menu, and I don't care. You need to try these cornbread pancakes. I highly recommend this stop if you're traveling between Green Bay or Appleton and Milwaukee or Chicago. Tell the hostess you don't need a menu, just bring on the cornbread pancakes with the Door County cherries, and the glazed grapes on the side, a cup of Collectivo Coffee, and expect to be uncomfortably full if you finish your pancakes. The place is cozy when you come in, but feels cramped and too crowded once you've polished off the pancakes, they serve a little more than you should probably try to finish in one sitting but I couldn't help myself. read more

Very very nice place for breakfast, brunch, and lunch! Some of my friends and I we all agree that it's such a gift to have such a nice restaurant in town. Their food is well prepared and absolutely tasty! Many salad selection as well as sandwiches. My favorite go-to orders are actually quiche and beef hash. If you have not tried their hash brown, try it since it's the best I've had because it's garlic flavor. Amazingly delicious. Perfect taste! The quiche is always great those times I tried. I usually add $3 ham with it and it's great combination. Beef hash is another dish I would totally give five stars. Grilled beef on the top of their garlic hash with melting cheese!! They offer Collectivo Coffee, which for the area, is special in it's own right. I've mostly been here for breakfast and it just leaves me wanting more.
