Outside has ample seating for the nice warm days with friends. In winter there is a really cool little ice rink and outdoor fireplace. Such a great addition to the small city downtown shopping and dining area. The coffee shop has a nice selection of hot and cold drinks with a limited breakfast and lunch menu. I tired the avocado toast and thought it was very fresh and tasty. Definitely a great destination for lunch or coffee with friends. Unfortunately it was still a little too cold to sit outside this morning... so the inside seating was hard to find.

The inside is a little busy with all that is decorated and going on in the inside with the paints and decor, it's a tad overstimulating and I wish they had more standard seating. The woman serving us poured the coffee into paper cups. When I politely asked if we could have the coffee in cups instead, she angrily poured the coffee from the paper cups into ceramic cups. A few minutes later, she served us cold sandwiches as well. I found the whole situation very upsetting and disappointing. I do not know whether her behavior was related to the fact that I was from another country and whether there was some kind of national or cultural bias involved, or whether she was simply having a bad day. However, the way we were treated made us feel very uncomfortable. I have always had positive experiences at Elsewhere, which is why this incident was particularly disappointing. It was genuinely a very unpleasant and discouraging experience.

First thing first, we got an order of the pork belly and that was crispy and juice. Not dry and the skin was so crunchy I really enjoyed that. The stem fish was good. The khao ka pao was delicious and it hit the spot. It was spicy and flavorful. The egg on top broke beautifully and it was delicious. The chicken leg was really big and it wasnt dry. It was juicy and cooked fully. The pho was typical, it was beefy but it's typical hmong pho. The thai boat was really good and beefy. The crab Rangoon was good, it does need the sauce. The sticky rice is typical sticky rice but good portion. The fried rice was good, it does have a good flavor to it. The only one that wasn't all that was the pad see ew, it lack flavor but it was still good. The thai tea was too sweet it lack the thai flavor. The papaya was really good and the spice was not bad since we did 6 peppers. Services was good, it was a bit slow we didnt get the thai boat until the end. But everything came out and they check in on us a lot making sure we had all our food. The space and ambiance of the space was not too busy or too slow. We went at the right time so it wasnt all that bad. Would come back to this place, it's a typical Hmong restaurant but good flavors!
