Been going to Leon's for 25 years. We ordered two waffle cones singles. They came with the cone filled with ice dream about 3/4 of the way up the cone. Had to eat down the cone to get to the ice cream. Their singles used to protrude out the top of the cone. They saved some cost on these cones only to cost them my business. read more

Purchased a pound of joosburger it was about 14bucks .what a greasy mess.There was more then an inch of orange grease floating on top of the grease logged mess that was underneath in the cup.We thru it out it was an inedible mess I talked to the gal in charge she said she would let the manager know and asked for my number never heard from them I took it home before I opened the bag or I would not have left without getting my money back read more

As a historical Wisconsinite who has included custard as one of their main ingredients... this is your main attraction. Their recent modern update of service, ambiance, and absolute domination in flavor should ensure you flock to this unique location as if it were your cosmic Mecca. This is better than (dare I say?) Delicious Custard. This was our first visit to Oshkosh/ Leon's. Decided we wanted to find somewhere with custard or ice cream. The sign caught our eye! So glad we stopped. Loved being served at our car. My husband and I came here everyday on a work trip. It was delicious. Our favorite custard of the day was peanut butter. We ended up buying a quart of it. So good! Leon's is quite the staple for Oshkosh and MKE ice cream and for a reason! Great quality and flavor. They have a new special ice cream creation every day that they put up on the original neon sign. I've tried most of the menu, ice cream and food, and you can't go wrong. Especially with the custard, as a malt, and any of the sandwiches. I almost always get the turtle sundae or the special of the day. Iconic drive in date night and friend spot. Lots of memories made here having delicious treats. Only 4/5 as the portions can be small for the price, but the service and experience will always keep me coming back. read more

We saw there was a Leon's in Oshkosh and having grown up in Milwaukee and eaten at the one there we had to give this place a try. OK, we just had lunch elsewhere and stopped for a custard dessert. It was a cold and gray December day so the place was empty at 1pm. The server immediately ran out to our car and had to wait as we debated what to get. So we were boring and got a two scoop vanilla dish (very good) and a single chocolate (also very good). Why a three star? I know inflation is high but almost $8 for this order - the small was barely bigger than a shot glass. Wow! read more

This was such a nice surprise! We wanted ice cream or something sweet for dessert on a whim. Looked to trusty yelp for some suggestions and saw this business. It had a high rating and was less than 50 metres away from where we were. Pulled up and turned on the lights of the car (that's how you call for service). A chipper young lady wearing a pink poodle skirt came and asked if we needed menus (we did), and told us to flag her down when we were ready. The size between the small and large custard cup is quite big. We chose a large caramel cashew custard to share. It was less than $6 after tax. TL DR delicious treats (they even have sandwiches!), Service comes to your car window, and affordable. Definitely recommend. read more

This is amazing! We're from MN so we were clueless when we pulled up, why everyone was in the car. While we were walking up we finally realized that it was a drive in, and they serve you AT YOUR CAR AND TURN YOUR LIGHTS ON TO GET SERVED. Genius! Leon's Frozen Custard is of course a family-friendly ice cream parlor with a retro exterior. It doesn't have the best atmosphere but it certainly makes up for it with it's unique appearance. The place mainly functions like a drive through but I still have service when I arrived on foot as there were a dew benches and picnic tables. I asked to see the menu and I was blown away by the many flavors it had (and the other food it served), but i i I was disappointed they didn't serve cookie dough without chocolate flakes or chips. When I got my root beer float, after my fair amount of waiting during this pandemic, it was unlike any other I had. The people who made it put whipped cream and even a cherry inside of the float and I had a sizable cup for about $3.50. I think the added touches made this a more gourmet experience than I have anticipated. read more

After inhaling burgers and cheesecurds at Pete's Garage, we drove over to Leon's for dessert. We pulled up to the front, and the server dressed in pink 50's style hoop skirt bounced over to our car. She took our order while we sat in the car. 2 frozen custard in waffle cones + 1 large sundae came to $12.24, which is quite reasonable pricing. They also acceptcredit card payment. The whole ordering process was efficient and the service was very friendly. My guests enjoyed their huge frozen custard in waffle cone. My turtle sundae was not bad; I liked the salty pecans and the custard ice cream. But I didn't appreciate the generous toppings of caramel and fudge which made it too sweet. Really cute spot if you're already in town and craving ice cream. But nothing seems to top Lamer's or Oberweis ice cream for me yet... read more

At this age, its hard for me to justify eating a chili dog with gooey cheese and a Joos burger. I am always one to try everything at least once. A must-stop when looking for ice-cream in Oshkosh. This is a '50's-style drive-in in every way. It's especially pretty at night with the neon glowing. It's a small place because there's no indoor seating; it's a drive-in! 1950's architecture, service, and food. (There are benches outside) You drive up and when your lights are on they know you need service. Everything is done from your vehicle. The girls really hustle and give great service so tip generously. They bring out menus and when you're ready to order, turn your lights on and they come running up. Disposable containers to go or glass containers if you're staying in the parking lot. On busy days there will be a second tier of vehicles but even then the service has been good. I can only speak to the custard (which is awesome) and not the hot menu. You will have a difficult time deciding from all the choices. Portion size varies but is generous and the prices are low. If you like a bit of nostalgia, good food, good service, reasonable prices, and eating in your car; this is the place for you. read more

Amazing! I've been to Leon's in Milwaukee so upon moving to Oshkosh I was so excited that there was a Leon's. I asked the waitress and she said the two locations used to be affiliated but are not anymore- however the custard is still the same. Which is perfect because the custard is the best. The only problem is butter pecan isn't one of the staple flavors like in Milwaukee because this spot only has two machines. Regardless, the custard is the best. I had a turtle sundae and inhaled it, my boyfriend got a cherry crunch avalanche. We loved it, will be going here frequently while we live in Oshkosh. read more

Leon's and Ardy and Ed's obviously compete for the same customers, but it's win-win for us. We just go to both. The standout here is the custard. Rich, creamy, a wide variety of flavors and of combinations in sundaes, etc.. The root beer is good too, and there's the usual dogs and sandwiches, but to me this is more of a "dessert" place. The place looks like it time-warped in from the '50s, like Ardy and Ed's, but it has its own style. Stop by if you're in town for EAA or anything else. read more
