Holy moly sweet tooth satisfied! So good, great options. Friendly staff, some not as helpful but overall good. So many to choose from, all the different combinations, can't wait to keep trying more. Parking lot is a bit confusing, there is street parking too. Plenty of space to sit down and eat there and outside. Fairly clean bathrooms. Will be back to try more flavors. Family and I were visiting from Dallas. This place didn't disappoint. Wife ordered elote. Daughter had the Cesar Salad ice cream with churros. Churros were some of the best we ever had and fresh. Definitely stop here again. Service was excellent. Staff very friendly! read more

Oh my goodness, the smell alone in this place makes you hungry! The owner is nice as can be, offers tastes if you need one, and is sooo pleasant to talk to! It's clean and charming on the inside. I loved this place! First time my bf and I went here, we just moved to appleton looking for something sweet after our dinner date night. Such a cute shop that seems to be a neighborhood staple. The staff was so friendly and helped guid us to delicious decisions. They offer samples of their ice cream to ensure you are picking one you will enjoy. The churro bars are similar to sundays/blizzards and come with warm gooey churros in them. Frio Mexican Treats is an authentic Mexican desert, coffee, shake, and snack shop. It is a very cute and cozy place to visit to grab a snack or sip on some delicious coffee. The kids will love coming here (great childhood memories). It has a small and pleasant Mexico getaway vibe. The customer service is outstanding as you feel like you're visiting family and/or friends. Came for a late night craving and so happy this place is open til 9 on a Sunday, so rare and I appreciate it! The menu had lots of good appetizer like foods on the menu and they were intriguing, like Mexican street corn cups and all that. But, my mission was ice cream. The whole place smelt like churros so I had to get an order of churros on the side, they were great! Crispy and warm. As far as ice cream they had a bunch of flavors, some more different than others but definitely a variety. The staff at the counter let me try a few and they were all good, the stand outs were the avocado, baileys and the flavor of the month banana. Great treates (5 stars) but no organization (1 star)! We stopped in recently with our whole family. The pros included: a great selection of tasty treats, sundays, churros, homemade ice cream, other types of sides Including Mexican corn. We all tried a variety of ice cream desserts and enjoyed the quality of everything. It's a fun place and nice addition to local Appleton businesses! It's a huge inside, there's plenty of seating and they have nice tables outside for enjoying your tasty treat in the summer. ---------------------- Cons- there is no flow! Tiny area for ordering! The menu board is not in a good area for viewing from the ice cream station. Once you are ready to order you have to step out of the corner and try to find the end of the other line to the register. There were so many people jammed, no one knew where the line ended and people were cutting in front of each other!! The owner needs to hire more staff, It took us about 30 minutes to receive our ice cream. We counted 1 girl at register and 2 behind counter. They were very nice but unfortunately very slow. The whole place was backed up. I'm so happy for this new local business but since the owners know they are swamped they need to hire more staff to service the clientele. We as a family look forward to going back and trying more items on their menu... But we are going to wait a few months until the newness wears off... and its not so busy. We simply do not wish to wait 30 minutes for a dessert we can simply make at home in a couple of minutes. Congrats to the owners! read more

For savory, my friend and I tried the carne seca - Mexican style jerky on top of potato chips drizzled with a tangy sauce. And dorilocos - Doritos (can do half Doritos and hot Cheetos which I did) mixed with corn, pickled jalapeños, creamy cheese goodness. For sweet, we had avocado ice cream - incredibly creamy and delicious. And fried ice cream from the churro bar - life.changing. It was vanilla ice cream, with corn flakes and a couple of churros and guys.that was the best churro I've ever had. *drool* I really like that there are sweet and savory options. This place was amazing!! I try not to indulge in desserts too much but I've been wanting to try this place for a long time and it did not disappoint! The interior was clean, very cute and spacious. The staff were super friendly too! We ordered the fried ice cream that came with churros and deep fried flakes and it was amazing! My boyfriend changed the vanilla ice cream to baileys ice cream and he loved it. I will definitely be back here again. I was surprised to see that they had a lot of options other than sweets as well. Almost all of our group was a . senior, with the oldest being 97. We needed a place that has no steps or anything. Our visit was amazing from start to finish! They provided a large private area and the table set up for all of us that worked awesome. It was in a huge square and everyone could see and talk to each other while sitting. The food was fantastic as was our waitress and the rest of the staff. In my eyes, our visit couldn't have been better. I would highly recommend The Machine Shed to everyone. Much to his dismay, they were out of the one item he even decided to come here for. To his defense, when several dishes on the menu have that one item in it, it takes away a lot of food options. I was planning to pick the smoked wings since I was still full from lunch. He had trouble picking his alternate dish since his 2nd choice was catfish....and the way they serve it here is whole which he doesn't want to work for his food. We ended up walking out and trying another restaurant. Service was friendly and understandable about our choice.
