Mr. R went with one of the double smashburger options after asking how many ounces the patties were, and a side of tater tots. The burgers were really good, better than those offered at a couple of places we frequent. The mister regretted the double patty choice, as the patties were larger than expected, and he'd wished he'd gone with a single. Our server was friendly and checked up on us regularly. The Old School is, shockingly enough, housed in a former school built in the 1870s, with comfy bar stools and some cute school decor. There are a couple of patios for outdoor seating, and space is available to rent for parties and meetings.

They're a small shop, so we couldn't buy as many loaves of sourdough as we might have liked in order to freeze and bring back to Chicago! My wife loves their sliced sourdough toast and says it's even better than the high quality Miele sourdough at whole foods in Chicago. That's a pretty high standard.
