Great stop on the drive from Green Bay to Madison after watching a Packers victory. Breakfast served all day and that is what we enjoyed. A garden skillet with home made skillet potatoes and a Denver skillet with home made potatoes as well. Large potions and good coffee as well.

This is one of those places you wish would be featured on a restaurant makeover show. It's the only sit-down restaurant in Rosendale, which isn't reflected in the atmosphere or food. The decorations are kitsch, and they have the old laminate tables, and a long dining bar. The service is down-home folk, and if you get the right waitress, a lot of fun. My disappointments come from the floor heaters, which did little to warm the restaurant, and the food, which isn't prepared well. The cheese curds are amazing, but my "lightly breaded" smelt was 70% breading, and the homemade roast dip was drrrrryyyy. If the food was 100%, I would call it a cool throw-back restaurant, but with the food being mediocre, I have to call it in need of a change.

Solid diner with lots of locals and truck drivers. They have about 10 kinds of homemade pies on offer along with the usual diner menu. You can eat in a booth, at the bar, or at a table. So cheap - a cup of coffee, a slide of excellent pie, and a scoop of ice cream was $5.39.

This place is always great for breakfast. I love their giant pancakes and Texas French toast. Reasonably priced.

Great breakfast made fresh to order, so be patient. Could barely finish one slice of French toast. Their breads and donuts are delicious.

There seem to be two halves to the restaurant with slightly different vibes on each. One more diner/coffee shop and one more bar. The diner side where you order also had a vast selection of muffins and other baked goods, some gluten free and vegan. We were surprised to see 9 different varieties of muffins! We ended up getting the jerk chicken wrap, the French toast, and the teriyaki wrap. The best part was the varieties of wraps you can choose from! It's great that they don't just have white. The jerk chicken had a nice kick to it and gave my friend the hiccups, but kept eating because it was so good. The French toast was in sticks form and pretty tasty, great presentation of lincoln log-esque. The teriyaki chicken had a nice sweetness, but not overpowering. It was gobbled up quickly. We also liked the toasted tortilla garnish with different seasonings on them. Just the right amount of side for a wrap. Overall, good food, friendly staff, and very reasonable price. We'll be back if we're in the area.

This place is a cross between a bar and a sandwich shop. Half the menu consists of deep fried starters, burgers and the requisite Friday fish fry, the other half has a great selection of soups, salads and sandwiches. We ordered adult beverages and they arrived fairly quickly. Even though it was Friday, we turned down the fish special and opted for soup and sandwiches. We both ordered the French onion soup. It was excellent. My order was for soup and the half sandwich special with a cheeseburger as my sandwich. This was a great option for me as the regular menu cheeseburgers is 1/2 lb which is way too big for me. One of my husband's favorite sandwiches is a Reuben. The caveat being it has to be on dark rye, not marble rye. Friar Tuck made his day serving up a meaty corned beef Rueben with Swiss cheese and sauerkraut on dark rye with a side of thousand island dressing. Both sandwiches came with carrot and celery sticks with a side of ranch dip. Nice touch! We will stop here again the next time we're in town.

The inside is wonderfully retro with faux medieval touches and rolly Naugahyde chairs from the 80's. The servers still wear uniforms (unflattering mini-monk dresses) and they still have an old school comment box - take that Yelp! The menu is simple - sandwiches, soup and a few fried apps. It's really cheap and the portions are hearty. They give you veggies and dip instead of chips so it's healthy I guess. I had a nice hot roast beef sandwich served on a nice toasted roll with au jus. Two thumbs up from me. Service was fast & friendly too. Lunch was $25 for 2 including drinks - definitely a great value.

Gorgeous space right on the lake and even though we were there in winter, it was still a pretty sight to look out the windows. The restaurant was packed with regulars and the it was a fun Friday night, I'm glad they took reservations. We started out with drinks, which had a separate menu. Not the easiest to navigate for the specials as they just had funny names and not what was in it. Overall my old fashioned was super sweet due the maple syrup, so I would probably just stick with your usual order. As for the food, the CHEESE CURDS were truly some of the best that I've had! Ooey, gooey, deliciousness! Perfect crunch and also melted in your mouth. The menu itself is very extensive and there is something for everyone to eat. I appreciated that most of the entrees came with a soup or salad, though I will say that none of the food absolutely wow'ed me. The dessert was interesting. The brownie was classic and the gluten free cheesecake..was gluten free. Very strange in my opinion, but appreciate that they have it as an option. Overall, I would definitely come here for a fish fry, a drink, and I can totally see this place hopping in the summer.

Gabby was our server, she was terrific! The food, however...huge disappointment! The gumbo was watery and not given the time it needed to meld the flavors just right. I had the Walleye with a cauliflower sauté...the fish was very good, but the cauliflower sauté was OVERWHELMED by a ridiculous amount of bacon (unmentioned in the description.) I'm glad I wasn't pescatarian. The accompanying squash was tough and lukewarm, I suspect cooked earlier and waiting to be dished up. My husband got the Gnocchi with a rubbery sirloin steak and a sad potato gnocchi. Neither of us finished our meals. I would definitely go back for the view and drinks, no food. (This review was from our visit last summer. I left it in drafts)
