Every time I'm in Rosendale I have a meal two at Tabber's! Great service and the food is priced right! Tonight we had the turkey dinner with mashed potatoes and apple sauce, just happened to be the Thursday special excellent! I highly recommend a visit here. read more

We had fish for dinner. The haddock and walleye were great, the cole slaw mediocre and the perch was awful! The unfriendly waiter tried to convince us this was what perch taste like, but I was raised on perch, and their perch was bad!! read more

Great stop on the drive from Green Bay to Madison after watching a Packers victory. Breakfast served all day and that is what we enjoyed. A garden skillet with home made skillet potatoes and a Denver skillet with home made potatoes as well. Large potions and good coffee as well. read more

This is one of those places you wish would be featured on a restaurant makeover show. It's the only sit-down restaurant in Rosendale, which isn't reflected in the atmosphere or food. The decorations are kitsch, and they have the old laminate tables, and a long dining bar. The service is down-home folk, and if you get the right waitress, a lot of fun. My disappointments come from the floor heaters, which did little to warm the restaurant, and the food, which isn't prepared well. The cheese curds are amazing, but my "lightly breaded" smelt was 70% breading, and the homemade roast dip was drrrrryyyy. If the food was 100%, I would call it a cool throw-back restaurant, but with the food being mediocre, I have to call it in need of a change. read more

I really wanted to like this place. I remember enjoying it many years ago. Meal started with a Salad with Ranch Dressing. Not sure what was wrong with the dressing but it was terrible. I think it was low fat, low cal or fat free Ranch. It was very thick and sugary tasting. Reminded me of Fat Free Hidden Valley Ranch. Needless to say I ate very little of the salad. I ordered the fish (smelt) and it was ok. A bit fishy tasting for me but I got through it. Kind of like deep fried sardines. I ordered Hash Browns with it which ended up a mistake because my entire plate was golden brown food. The baked potato would have been a wiser choice. Aside from the gross salad dressing I cant say the food was bad but it was underwhelming given my past memories of this place. Its worth a stop if you need to eat on your way through and, like I, avoid chains. Just don't expect the best meal of your life. Very good prices though. read more

Fiance and i stopped here on a whim coming home from Warrior Dash. We were pleasantly surprised by the number of people inside. A packed place = good food! We grabbed two stools at the counter and got ready to tuck in! Pleasant staff, friendly locals, and delicious food. He had the biscuits and gravy, I ordered a big fat slab of french toast, hash browns, an egg over medium and bacon extra crisp. Everything was exactly as ordered, delicious and perfect. The four star not five star is because we had to wait a little longer than i would have preferred to get refills on our water, and for the server to come ask if everything was alright and if we needed anything else. ( yes i did... Tabasco sauce.) All in all, a very pleasant dining experience and we will for sure stop in again when we go back through! read more

Solid diner with lots of locals and truck drivers. They have about 10 kinds of homemade pies on offer along with the usual diner menu. You can eat in a booth, at the bar, or at a table. So cheap - a cup of coffee, a slide of excellent pie, and a scoop of ice cream was $5.39. read more

I had the most AMAZING French Toast, but when ordering keep in mind they are HUGE! My boyfriend got their biscuits and gravy and the biscuits were burnt, but otherwise a great place with very nice staff! Would definitely go back. read more

We stopped here on our way through town. The lack of any cars in the parking lot should have been our first clue to keep on driving. Their special for the day was ribs. When we ordered we were told they were fresh, which was absolutely not the case. They were to tough and terribly dry, like shoe leather, they were practically inedible. The waitress didn't seem concerned about this nor did she offer to remove them from the bill. I ordered a simple grilled cheese sandwich that came out made with Texas toast and as greasy as could be. It was the equivalent of eating a big greasy bread sandwich. The soup was no better. The soup of the day was a creamy vegetable soup which had the consistency of drying paste and was very obviously made with a bunch of canned vegetables. The only thing good about my meal was the packaged crackers that came with the soup. If I could have given less than one star that would have been my choice. One star is being VERY generous! Will not ever stop here again, since every time I drive by there now I am reminded about our nauseating experience. read more

My boyfriend and I have been going here since we moved to Rosendale 2 years ago. Recently, they expanded their menu to include pizza, Italian-inspired dishes and beer. I love the fact that they do deliver in Rosendale; none of the pizza places in Ripon or FDL deliver to Rosendale, to the best of my knowledge. Price-wise, a typical breakfast is about $12 for the two of us (their white bread is some of the best I've had); pizza with cheesy garlic sticks is about $22. We've always had great service. I even occasionally see the owner, I believe, busing tables on busy Sun. mornings. I like the variety of seating options: booths, at the counter or tables. And rarely do we have to wait very long for a table to open up (I think EAA week would be the exception to that rule, as it is with a lot of the eateries in the area). read more

Salad was plain, the had no balsamic. Hamburger had no onions, lettuce or tomato but was good. Pulled pork was tasty but didn't eat the bun. Service excellent. read more

The breakfast items are good, however my steak was clearly smaller than the typical ribeye and was done wrong. The waitress was short tempered and didn't seem interested in how we felt, even after she forgot my sons chocolate milk. Old school atmosphere which I enjoy. We heard about this place from a random truck driver in a bar so thought we would give it a shot for breakfast. We loved it! My husband had eggs, ham and hash browns. It was all very good but rather standard stuff. I, on the other hand, had the French Toast. Amazing! It's a huge slice made out of bread they make here from scratch. Soft and delicious! I have had the variety fish platter three times. The first two times I informed them that the fish smelled, mainly the perch. When I went there the their time I mentioned it to another waitress. She made sure the cooks knew that if the fish smelled that it was bad. The third time of the variety fish platter the fish did not smell, but something still didn't seem right about it. Don't get the variety platter but get the cod and I believe the other was a walleye. I have also had the boneless BBQ ribs. Don't get that unless it's for a kid, but even then I wouldn't feed it to them. The best items made in the restaurant are the pizzas they make. read more
