Last week we had the pleasure of enjoying a breakfast at Angels with the family the day after graduation from Lawrence University. We were a big group, approximately 20 of us and this did not bother the servers in the least. The restaurant was busy, yet they took the time to make conversation, bring out our meals nice and hot and neither our coffee cups nor mimosa glasses were ever empty for long. We come here for breakfast a lot when visiting our daughter in Appleton. Everyone is friendly, and the service has always been very good. Everything I've had has been delicious!! I just love the pigs in blankets and crepes. We'll be back next time we're in town!! read more

This is one of my all time favorites since I've been in the area. I literally come here every day when I have time before work. The coffee is always strong & fresh plus I appreciate how the servers are always walking around ready to refill your cup before you have a chance to ask. This is a family owned restaurant I think with a lot of regulars I've became one of them. It's not very loud but the people here do come to socialize. I have brought multiple people to this restaurant to eat with but mostly I come alone and still feel welcomed plus comfortable. No matter what I order to eat it always comes out hot & ready. There has not been a time where the food wasn't up to par and I've been here over 10 times. Definitely worth the trip. read more

What a nice surprise. Visiting the farmers market and want to support local restaurant. Did a quick internet search and Picked Angel's. Very clean, nice menu with a lot of options. Nice greeting as soon as we walked in. I had the cinnamon swirl French toast and American fries. The nread used was round and a little crispy when served. Outstanding. American fries were crispy and seemed to be home-made Wife had scrambled eggs were average, pork sausage VERY good and excellent dark rye toast. Fairly busy but service was friendly and fast. This place came highly recommended, but failed to deliver. The peach crepes were literally just cold canned peaches wrapped in a crepe. Not diced, not warmed, just dumped into a crepe. It was also $5 for 3 slices of gyro meat and $2.15 for a egg. There are a number of restaurants nearby that offer better food at a better value. It was 9:45am, and the restaurant was not really busy, the server walked by our table with coffee twice without bothering to refill our cups. Overall it was a disappointment and not somewhere I would go back to. We had a large gathering in town and were staying at the Marriott up the street. Being and avid Yelper I decided to see where we could get a decent breakfast. I ate here with my family on three occasions in 4 days (all breakfast). I have to say that we were very impressed. Three different servers, all extremely polite. Mostly locals come here as It seems the place has been around for a while. Let me cut to the chase. Huge portions, excellent quality great value with exceptional customer service. Eggs Benedict highly recommended! Would I come again? You bet! We were in town for a funeral. Thank you Angels for making our stay feel a little easier. read more

Angel's is your typical, casual diner-type restaurant in NE Wisconsin. I've been there with my family for brunch a couple times now, and while I want to like them, there's been a few missteps. They were accommodating on Father's Day when we called ahead to reserve a table, as well as setting us up in a place to accommodate a newborn in a car seat. The service has always been just friendly enough, though they're always busy and always seem a bit harried. Service also seemed a bit on the slow side for a place like that, even when they're busy. One time I ordered the crab and mozzarella omelette, which sounded unique and intriguing to me. Unfortunately it had very little crab or mozzarella flavor, but was on the greasy side. On that visit I also asked for a side of bacon, which never came (and were never charged for, but still not the point). On the most recent visit, I ordered the cherry crepes, and they came out plain (it was obvious from the start because another person in our party also ordered fruit crepes, and mine were very flat compared to theirs). Our server took them to be recooked, which they did quickly but they didn't warm them up as requested. The flavor was just okay. Like I said, I want to like them more than I do, but neither experience has been great for me. Seems like the rest of my family likes them okay, so maybe I'm just bad luck . . read more

When a restaurant charges $14.99 for a cheeseburger and adds $7.99 for an extra pattie on it it is like robbery. Also added .99 for cheese, .60 for onion, .60 for tomato and 1.50 for fries. The cheeseburger plate came to $26.67!!! Really!! When talking to the manager, he said prices were stated on the menu. Who would've ever imagined that this was not pointed out when ordering. Paid it, but will never go back and want to warn everyone about their practices. I find it offensive and not very business like! read more

We ordered carry out from Angel's and the entire process from call in to pick up went very smooth. We ordered breakfast, right when they opened and we were able to get our order very fast. I had been craving eggs Benedict for a while and their's hit the mark and was amazing. My wife ordered their pecan waffles and said they were delicious. We will definitely be going back. read more

The service was great and the restaurant is spotlessly clean. They also provided a real sippy cup for our toddler. However, the food was ehhh. Everything tasted like it was reheated from frozen or cans. Interestingly, this wasn't even hidden. In the cake display case all the cakes still had the labels showing they were purchased at Sam's Club and other grocery stores. Terrible food. Hamburger was gray and luke warm. It had a piece of bone in it and came on a wonder bread type bun. Chicken noodle soup looked suspiciously like Campbells alphabet. Then I took a sip of my wife's coffee and the waitress came over to say I owe them for a second cup because I shared her's. We were celebrating my Father-in-laws 94th birthday. We were looking for a breakfast place close to Lawrence University - this is almost on campus, close to the athletic fields and very close to the Marriott. It was a weekend, so the restaurant was packed but we were able to sit right away. We ordered typical breakfasts, egg dishes which were also served with pancakes. Portions are large and everything tasted very good. I'd be interested in returning for lunch. read more

My meal was pretty awful. The meatloaf tasted like nothing I had ever had that was called meatloaf--sort of perfume-y. The mashed potatoes were bad even as compared to other potatoes-out-of-the-box. I ordered the gravy on the side but it came covered in gravy. Service was slooow, and they weren't busy. When I told the server I couldn't eat the meal, she took it away and threw it out without ever asking what was wrong. I figure either they are used to being told their food is inedible or else they just don't care. The server did say she would take the meal off the tab but I was still charged $6.38 for a cup of soup, a side salad (i. e. a little lettuce with a cucumber slice), and a very stale roll. read more

We have been enjoying Angel's for years. Today was no exception. This is a great family place. We have come here with loads of grandkids and they have accommodated us. Let them know ahead of time the nature of your party. Never good to to surprise a restaurant with 6-8 kids in tow. We have had groups of 12 or more adult family members. Angel's is a quiet atmosphere that makes visiting easy. The staff is very friendly and are available when you need them. Like most family restaurants, if it is very busy just show patience. Prices are reasonable and the food is good. I noticed that some, especially from out of the are, feel most Appleton eating places are very bland. Since I never use extra salt and pepper on food I guess I cannot test to that. Everything taste fine to me. Especially, my breakfast specials. read more

Unless you are eighty years old with a strict "no seasoning" diet, go somewhere else. All three in our party complained of bland food. I had the vegetarian omelette, which tasted like egg whites from a carton. Even after covering it with salt, pepper, and Tabasco Sauce, it was still difficult to get half of it down. My friend had eggs over easy, one was perfect, and I don't know how they did it, but the other was over very hard. Some of our toast was hard as crackers, and some was mushy. We all had hash browns, which we all described as hash whites. I'm sure you understand. We won't be returning, ever. read more

My husband and I ate dinner there tonight. I thought the dining area looked nice. We were seated right away. This is where the positive comments end. We ordered dinner and were eating salads when one of the staff decided that it was time to vacuum, in the dining room, while we ate. When my husband questioned the waitress about this her response was "Do you want me make him stop?". The food looked and tasted like something out of a military chow hall on a bad day. The pork chop was so thin and so overcooked. The meat in my french dip sandwich tasted like it was leftovers from last week. We had plenty of leftovers but why bother to take it home. read more

First impression of the restaurant was that it's very clean. The food, however, was terrible! We had the all you can eat fish, and our kids had the chicken strip kids meal. The fish was very greasy and over fried. It was fried so long most of the fish was just a crunchy greasy mess. The mashed potatoes were terrible. They tasted like there was lemon juice in them. The chicken strips were not whole pieces of chicken. They were the pressed chicken you get at a fast food restaurant. The meal left all of us with an upset stomach for rest of the night. Prepare yourself for a craptastic experience. We tried this restaurant for the first time last week. Upon walking in, we were greeted promptly. There are Angels everywhere! We felt like we were at church, or a funeral. We were sat in a booth near the atrium. Dated! Our server was a young kid, about 17. He was rude and disinterested in working. First, they were out of lemons for the water...he didn't feel like cutting them. He was more interested in flirting with the other server, a girl who was working the atrium party. He was passive aggressive. He was like, are you ready or not? Do you know what you want or do I need to come back? Are you going to order or what? We finally ordered after looking over the menu. I ordered Steak and Eggs. They have four options on the menu...he didn't bother to ask which. He did actually guess correctly on which I was referencing. I asked for an extra egg. He then said, "really? how many eggs do you want in total?" Well, two plus one is three, but make me feel shitty for wanting a third since it was dinner. I asked for medium rare on the steak. It came out well done. He never came back to check on us. We asked for extra napkins. He tossed them on the table spilling orange juice all over my dinner guest, who ordered an omelette and received it without cheese. Would it still be an omelette without cheese? We practically had to get our own carry out box and he, the server, thought it was weird that we didn't want separate checks. He clearly wanted to leave early the whole time we were there, based on his loud sighs each time a new guest would walk in. Where is the draw?? The food was mediocre. The carpet was filthy. The staff was unfriendly. The decor was eerie. At least at Dick's last resort or Ed debevics, when they insult you -- it is funny. read more
