Went to the Chatterhouse new location in Allouez, for dinner. We were a group of 6, all seniors, and wanted to sit in the upper level to get away from the bar noise. We were not allowed to sit there, and were moved to a table near the bar. Later as it got busier, other people were sitting in the upper level. Wait staff was very attentive, and food came quickly. Philly Steak was good, but not a large portion. Potato salad was very good. Patty melt and fries were also good. Not a great place to go for dinner with a group, as it was very loud in there. My wife and I stopped in for lunch after hearing several recommendations for their burgers, and we were not disappointed. We both got standard burgers and chili - both were good. The burgers themselves had a nice beefiness, nice char and were well seasoned. The buns were outstanding! I'm a big fan of a hard roll/Sheboygan roll for anything under a 1/2lb burger, and theirs is quite nice - crisp exterior and tender interior. The crinkly fries served with the burgers were nicely crispy - just how they should be. The chili was pretty standard fare chili for the area - meaty, well spiced and satisfying. They have a nice beer selection, but the bloody Mary's were flying out of the bar - I think I'll need to try one the next time we're in. read more

Go here! My husband and I stopped in today for lunch and the second half of the Badger game. Kevin, the owner, was attentive,, engaging and welcoming. Our food was fabulous. I had a Cajun grilled chicken sandwich that was so tender I never would have believed it was white meat. The buns on their sandwiches are amazing...crispy outside but unbelievably light and tender inside. Just fantastic. My husband had the brisket sandwich special and it was so tender you barely had to chew. Great options to choose from for sides. Cold beers. Hot food. Good Bloody Mary. If the Badgers had won it would have been perfect. We will absolutely be back!!! read more

This bar has a great atmosphere and friendly staff. I have been here a couple of times now and love it. They have a great food menu, and a nice selection of drinks. We stopped here tonight to have a couple of beers and really enjoyed ourselves. They had music playing, yet it was reasonable enough to have a good conversation. We will definitely return in the future! read more

Came for fish on a Friday night. The atmosphere and beer selection are top notch. I really like the inside of this bar/restaurant combo. It is a little crammed in here so a larger group may be harder to seat here. We sat at the bar and I ordered the special of pan fried Haddock and coleslaw. I opted out on the fries thinking that the coleslaw would come in a larger portion. More on that later. The old fashions here are really good and tart. I like all the garnishes on them that you can get. When my food came I had a small piece of fish and about 1/4 cup of coleslaw. I was confused with the portion size and so was my husband. He asked about it and they told me that was the normal side portion. It was really strange because then they brought me another little cup out slightly larger than the last. I think I would come back here for drinks but the portion sizes leave something to be desired for the price point. read more

We stopped in, for the first time ever, today. The Sunday Soecial, Burger with choice of several cheeses, and potato for $5.95. My husband had fries, and I had the yummy, made in house, potato salad. And, Happy Hour prices all day. The MRare burgers were done perfectly, nicely seasoned, good bun, and out to us quickly. We will definitely be back! read more

I haven't been to the Chatterhouse since my days at St. Norbert College which was a long, long time ago. I was picking up my daughter who now goes to SNC for spring break and decide to give it a try. My dad, brother and sister-in-law joined us as well for a fish fry Friday night. We started with deep fried cheese curds and pickles. They really hit the spot. For entrees, I had the walleye and everyone else had the perch. We all agreed it was delicious! Well worth the stop. The only disappointment was the whiskey old fashions. Not very good and I would recommend a hard pass. read more

Before this place opened it was George Street Connections, and before that George Street Cafe. It was one of my favorite bars in De Pere, but they just couldn't get people there. I don't think that will be a problem with the revival of Chatterhouse as it used to be a supper club decades ago, and the new owners brought that back in the same building. The owners completely did a 180 on this place as the bar is where the dining area used to be, and most of the tables are where the bar use to be. Big bar, with big TVs, and some great signs about cocktails and drinking. Came here on a Friday night with friends. It was fairly busy, and plenty of staff. Our server seemed a little overwhelmed. The service wasn't that bad, it's just she would come for one thing, and realized she forgot something, apologized and then leave, and would come back and repeat steps 1 through 3. I'm not upset, but it just seems like they still have some kinks to work out. I ordered a a 614 Steak Sandwich. It wasn't anything exciting, but I did enjoy it. I noticed after a couple my sandwich was just meat, cheese, more meat, and bread. I realized there was no lettuce, tomatoes, or onions. I guess I just assumed it would be on there, but the server didn't even ask me if wanted anything else on the sandwich. Once again, it was just little things that were missed. This is a great addition for the downtown De Pere area, as it makes a great dinner spot, and I do think it will get better. I think I'm going to to try this place again a few months down the road. read more

The chatter house is a great place to visit. The owner really cares about service and quality of food. The menu is not extremely diverse however what is on the menu is more often than not really good. I recommend the flat bread, chili, the Hindenburg, the shrimp, as well as the scallops. Not a hamburger person but I hear they have burgers are really good. If you've only gone there once and did not like it we should check it out again. read more

First time visit 2 weeks ago. Perfect burger, The Emma, med rare. The service was great!

This place has an excellent cook, portion size on the sides you get are a bit small. Mainly potato salad and coleslaw you get with with a Friday night fish fry. What stopped us from going sadly is the owner himself. He does more vaping behind the bar then most high school kids. Seating is limited so we sat at the bar on our last visit. No sooner did we start digging in to our meal and the owner asked us to pick up our meal and move from where we were seated. I've done this plenty with just my drink in hand but we were in the middle of our meal. He does very little behind the bar but take up space and vape. You have to see it to believe it. Oh and by the way, there was plenty of seating elsewhere he is just very inattentive. read more

Beer: 14 taps but no menu. If you can't see the taps you have to ask. Will give sample. Our bartender was not knowledgeable of offerings. Food: My wife and I both had the perch plate. Perch was very good. The potatoes on both plates were just warm and would not melt butter. Tartar sauce was runny and little flavor. Service: waitress was great. Watched as customers arriving stood at door confused as to how to get a table. This was the norm for many people arriving. Not sure when or if we will return as place just doesn't have a positive atmosphere. read more

Normally I'd recommend this restaurant but we were there early on a Friday night (5pm) it was about half full and we took a seat at the bar. It took 30min to try to get a hold of someone to get drinks and another 30 after that to get an order taken. Only to find out over an HOUR later he forgot to put in our order. So we had to wait another hour for our food, only then we couldn't even finish our food cause it was so soggy from grease. We then waited 45 min at least to try to get our bill after asking 3 times. It was very overpriced for the service we got that night. We spent almost 4 hours for 2 drinks and a dinner for two that we couldn't even eat read more

I love the atmosphere in this place! Although it was not busy tonight, I can see so much potential. I love the old world feel, the dark wood and exposed brick walls. The menu is a bit sparse, but the appetizers my husband and I ordered were perfectly acceptable. Our server was attentive and very pleasant. New restaurants do much to stand out from the competition, and the Chatter House is no exception. It differentiates itself by removing several of the normal services one would expect. Services like, wanting to wait on someone, wanting to serve them a beer, or having some intelligible, logical way to get a seat at a table. Come here if you hate yourself or if you're fasting. Try McDonalds if you want a dining experience that puts Chatter House to shame. read more

Was excited to see that the "old" chatterhouse was being restored and brought back to the East DePere area. Not sure if they were prepared for the expectations or volume of customers. Have visited on 3 separate occasions, first for carry out and the other 2 for dine in. Each time, the bartenders seem unfamiliar with the concept of customer service or the recipes for most common supper club drinks. The owner is extremely friendly to everyone but doesn't dress very nicely for an owner - often in jeans, sometimes torn, and t-shirts. One of the evenings, we ordered one of the Friday fish specials only to be told that they ran out and could only serve it to 1 person at our table. Sides are potatoes or French fries; no veggies or anything else that isn't a potato. They're a bit on the pricey side so I'm not sure this will be a frequent dining stop for me when there are other places that have better service, food, beverages and prices. read more
