Avoid this place at all cost .. they're over charging customers , not being transparent about pricing , mgr never available, I was charged double the price for 3mths , then sent a pay increase for an additional 147.00, after many calls with the pricing breakdown ... all of a sudden get a EMAIL for a 3 month credit, but they never admitted they over charged me. excused it with " because you're a good customer " BS!! Also never said units are more affordable further in... than the ones closest to the gate , also said prices changed EVERYDAY.. when asked about the prices listed on the website I was told that's promo for new customers.. But that's not on the site - ""promo "" not listed just unit sizes and prices .. this place is a RIP OFF !!! DO NOT RENT HERE!! After renting a unit for over a year, I finally made the decision to move out. My unit became infested with rodents during my entire stay. When I addressed my concerns with property manager, Evelyn, she would suggested that I should consider finding another location for rent , which led me to believe she could care less. I ended up maintaining my stay.... It wasn't until I recently found two dead mice in my unit and they were also in the process of raising my rent again, it was then I decided I was not going to pay for an increase for a unit that was rat infested. When i reached out to the DM, he agreed to keep rent the same but it was not reflecting on my acct. I tried reaching out to customer service numerous times, but they were useless and no help. Until this issue is taken more seriously and gets under control, I would not recommend this location for rental. I would also hope management have a little more consideration for there tenants and their concerns . read more

Rented 2 spaces for my home and office. Easy access, great price, and clean facility. The place is very secure as there are cameras and safety protocols in place- the place should be called the "Fort Knox". Evelyn, ever so helpful and courteous is a super professional. She patrols the facility every so often to make sure your items are locked and secured. Hence, she is the main reason for my review. I am pretty unhappy, I had my things in this storage unit untouched for a lil under a year. I came back to my things and they were covered in RAT POOP. Deceptive~ They seems very nice and priced competitively at first. A couple months in my $300 rate jumped to nearly $450. Evelyn asked for a review and said it was part of her Kobe requirement: when it came time to move out (early December) I moved out and called to let them know my move out date- they said I'd still get charged for the whole month. I still got charged in January. It turns out the mover accidentally put a lock on my unit- they were just not going to let me know. They said to call customer service- I then got the run around getting transferred to numbers that hung up multiple times. Ended up spending a few hours on the phone: The agents were not polite and said essentially too bad it's there policy. Literally just waited on the phone forty minutes to have someone say they couldn't hear me and hang up. Just a warning- they will not tell you if something goes awry and are All about the money and sign up bonus. read more

As of November 5, 2023, there is a serious rat infestation at this facility. The manager at this facility is a very nice person, but I contacted the company's customer service, and they couldn't care less about the rat infestation. Do not rent here at all until the company addresses these awful conditions and does something about the problem or all your belongings will be ruined by rats. I only have tools and building materials in my unit, nothing to eat, but still the rats enjoyed themselves in my unit - urinating and dedicating over everything. read more

I do not recommend you come here. They rent you a space for a discount but after you've been there about 5 months or so, they raise the rates. And they raise it a lot. Like about $70/month. Then after another 6 months they raise it again. They keep raising it until you have to move out of there. If you have to rent there, make sure it's only for a short period of time. read more

Evelyn, the manager is great . She watched out for my unit from day one. After I had moved in I had closed the the unit's door and placed my padlock on. Unknowingly I locked it incorrectly. The unit's door has a sliding latch with 3 holes. When I placed the lock on I put the lock on the open position. I failed to slide the latch first before putting on the lock. Fortunately, Evelyn was passing by on her cart and told me my door wasn't locked. I needed to slide the lock all the way over before putting on the lock. The crazy part of this story is I came back a couple of hours later and placed the lock on the wrong hole again. Fortunately again Evelyn was passing by in her cart and told me that I had placed the lock thru the wrong hole. I have some WD-40 and I'm going to spray it on the latch so it can slide better. Highly recommend Public Storage on Marina Blvd in San Leandro. The process to rent is on-line and it is extremely easy and seamless. They practice Contactless service and it works! They even have the app that opens the gate which provides a safety option so you don't have to touch the keypad for gate entry! Love it! Evelyn, the on-site contact is awesome, friendly and keeps the entire property the cleanest I've ever seen at any other public storage facility. I visited this Public Storage (it used to be Shurgard Storage) the other day, and I have to say I left disappointed. 1st off, it's difficult to find when there are construction trucks blocking the entrance. No fault of theirs, mind you. But it is a small building that stands near the road. It didn't help that when I looked up a number to call, I was given the call center number, and the lady was too busy trying to get me to make a reservation through her (even telling me they wouldn't let me see anything if I just walked in) instead of giving me directions, though I told her I was currently driving around the block trying to find it. Again, no fault of this location, but a reflection of the entire business. This location is the smallest Public Storage sites I have ever seen and is all on one floor. Most units are outdoors (outside access), though they do have small hallways (step in, take one more step, and that's it) and inside (hallway access) units. But the real reason for the low rating and for my choosing not to use this facility? The smell. The stench of bug/rodent spray was so overwhelming that my friend who nerved up and walked INTO the (outside) unit couldn't stop coughing afterwards. You may not have to worry about pests (I would hope from the strength of the fumes), but I doubt you'd ever get that stench out of your belongings stored there. They don't get one star because I chose not to store here and didn't experience that part of the business. read more

I drove by this location after visiting the Alameda Public Storage location and getting a bad vibe from the staff at the Alameda location. I decided it was best that I didn't rent from there. Since it was on the way, I decided to stop off here at the San Leandro location and see what was available. Lucky for me, there was a rental unit in the size that I was looking for at a deep discount. Turns out it was even cheaper than the Alameda location that I was originally going to use. Even better, if I reserved the unit online, I'd save even more. SOLD! While it's only been a weekend since moving things here, so far things have been smooth. Evelyn and her staff have been helpful. I haven't noticed any bad smells and the grounds appear to be fairly kept up. I hopefully won't have any horror stories to share about my unit being broken into as another had. Maybe I should get a 2nd lock, just in case. read more
