I don't know who's running San Leandro property anymore because there's never a manager on site or anybody here for the fact of the matter. Also, the call center is a joke to the fullest. What is the point of having a 24 hour Call center if they can't help you with anything this is the second day I have been locked out of the Climate controlled building of my storage To puck locks have been put on the doors there's no notice on the office door or the doors of the Climate controlled building and access hours are until 9 PM so why is it that this building is completely locked down at 5 PM? Yesterday I asked for the call center to leave note for a manager and district manager or somebody to give me a call back on why the building is lockdown. I was here by myself at 7 PM eight months pregnant needing to go to the hospital but needed to unload my car And the only thing I was told was that it's a morning issue that they will give me a call in the morning to explain why this building was locked down. I called back today to find out that the building is again lockdown before nine before 6 PM with no explanation and again I was told by the useless call center That all they'll do is leave a note on my account and then I have to be the one to keep calling about why I cannot get into The building where my storage is located. Nowhere in my contract nor in the policy for when I signed up at Storquest, did it ever say the climate control building will be locked down when the office is Closed! I've stored at Storquest many times in the past and never did I ever have to deal with the ridiculousness of this property and the management or lack there of!!! If I could give no star I would. I've had a storage here for a few years and I guess over the time Mice/rats/rodents got in and ate trough a bunch of my stuff well over 4k worth of cloths. We didn't see any when we cleared out the storage just a whole lot of droppings and ripped up traditional cloths. Currently going through a hassle with insurance with them. read more

As another reviewer mentioned this place is heavily infested with rats. I know most storage units have rats but this is not normal. Our unit is covered in rat poop, pee and vomit. The poison makes the rats vomit all over everything before dying in our unit. Everything we had in there is filthy now. I wouldn't use this unit for anything valued higher then what the insurance will pay, covered very well. read more

So before today, I would have given them a 5. Be wary. In person, they give great service. But once they know you're out of the area and can't do anything but pay, they rip you off, and you're stuck. To start: The Manager hooked me up with a great deal on a unit that he has a hard time renting out (strange shape); the unit is indoor and air conditioned; they have good security, and Mr. Manager hooked me up with a good deal for a U-Haul and even had the U-Haul ready for me to pick up at StorQuest instead of at a U-Haul. But there were a few flaky moments, even confirmed by one of his staff members who said that sometimes he does things like that (like not leaving a note about the price he gave me or the mattress covers I still had to pay for - the staffer was surprised when I asked her to add the price to my total). But those things weren't issues because while I was there, service was great. THEN TODAY. I didn't receive an invoice, so I called in to pay, and he tells me the charge is double. I'm sorry, what?! We then end up arguing about the price and discount, and he says that he only agreed to give me the discount for 2 months max. BUT...In person, he had asked me if I would need the unit for less than 6 months; I confirmed. Then, when I went back to do the contract, another person had to keep calling him because there was no mention of the discount I said he quoted (shoulda been my warning). He confirmed the deal, and she said she didn't know how to input the deal for longer than two months at a time, so she would reset it when necessary. So, I wasn't worried. Now? Now he says that never happened and that he has to charge me the full amount. How convenient to do so when he knows I'm in SoCal and can't easily come up and move my stuff to another storage place. Maybe if you're staying in the area and just need the storage space, it's worth it to rent here. But if you have to go out of the area at all, don't trust them. They WILL rip you off in a huge shove a jackhammer up your ass kind of way. read more

So, now that everything has been moved in and organized for easy access, I want to move out of this place because... First, we were asked for our key so maintenance could be completed in the units. We complied but, after a few months we ask when we would get our key back. We were told that other customers were not willing to hand over their lock keys. Repeatedly we have confronted StorQuest about our key and almost a year later they still have not given it back. Secondly, we reported to management that our unit was without a threshold or weather stripping for the bottom of the door. Dust was sweeping in under the crack in the door, so it was an issue that needed to be timely handled, especially because of the weather conditions (rain, wind, etc.). It was not. And then the rodents moved in. We told management about this particular problem and they told us we would be compensated and that we could move our unit. I've had to clean rodent droppings to keep my stuff orderly and have had to throw and move things out. To date the customer service has failed us. There is no reason why anyone should have to experience this especially when paying rent for a dirty unit, that could have been prevented. We talked to the district manager recently, so let's see if StorQuest can earn their stars back. read more

This place is a disgusting SCAM! Unless you want your valuables, which let's face it you're storing in a secure facility to be safe from damage and theft, to be literally CRAPPED all over by rodents I highly recommend taking your business elsewhere. This company is extremely negligent in inspecting and preventing a rodent issue in their facility. After notifying the office in November that they had a rat issue in our unit they told us that it was being handled and they are aware. So please, tell me why the issue has YET TO BE HANDLED...and they've failed to notify any tenants the extremity of this issue. On top of this, after not even seeking payment for the items, they are refusing to pay a professional to come in and clear the items out. They say that's up to us to arrange. They literally are scamming people out of their money by continuing to lease storage space when their facility is inadequate and completely unhygienic for such business. I'm so disgusted with management and upper management for how blatantly unaffected they are simply because they collected their payment and they feel this is not their problem. Dozens of items from my deceased father in law are completely ruined along with sentimental items from childhood that are now garbage. Trust me, pay for a sanitary and better run facility to save yourself a headache and thousands of dollars in property damage. **Updating to acknowledge the generic CS response their "business owner" provided. Hope all those looking into this facility are not duped by these phony responses. Just because they reply to the negative reviews on Yelp does not mean they rectify the issue. Again, if you guys were doing more to alleviate the extremely SEVERE rodent problem at your facility, we wouldn't have had thousands of dollars worth of items damaged and ruined. The office manager, Cynthia, was just a pleasure to work with - I needed a space in a hurry, I needed the free in-load truck asap - and she got it all done. Paperwork was quickly and accurately prepared; truck and driver came the next day. Now, 24 hours after my initial panic attack, my stuff is moved in, my home is being painted, and my mother-in-law will be able to move in ahead of schedule, if she wants! Kudos to Nick, the driver, and Cynthia !! Very convenient,friendly, local storage! Recommend! This review has been a long time coming; had a storage facility here a few years ago and although not the cheapest, definitely the most convenient and staff was extremely easy to work with. I also had to use the uhaul service that they used to offer, and that was the easiest truck rental I've experienced - and I've moved around a lot! The climate controlled units are clean, well lit and elevators always working. Can't complain... It's a one stop shop for all moving and storage needs. Thanks for the wonderful experience. read more

This location is great and kept very clean. The front desk employee Christmas was GREAT!! He not only helped us find a unit he found a bigger one for us that we could afford at the time, he also is very helping anytime we see him when visiting our storage. Such a delight to have help that's actually there To help and not just look at their phone all day. The place is safe and near street front so Im secure with location. Now we have easy access and great space. I recommend this storage place for anyone on this side of the bay and they stay open til 9 7days a week. read more

After moving two pieces of furniture from the storage facility. There were over 10 rats living in the furniture. The moving guys were reluctant but, they pressed on and salvaged what boxes they could. The furniture was decimated beyond recovery. It was stained and dis-colored with a pungent stench that was unreal. Also, completely covered in rodent feces. When we asked the storage facility(StorQuest in San Leandro) about having someone come out to exterminate and remove the destroyed furniture. They replied, "That's not our problem. It's your storage unit. We will charge you if you do not remove your things by the due date. By the way, you do have insurance on your unit that covers everything. UNLESS, it's animal damage. Then it only covers up to $400." My furniture was easily valued over $2,500. However, the storage I had in the unit was fine approximately a month ago. A guy three units down from me moving out had the same issue going on. So, the movers were nice enough to put all of the infested furniture back into the unit so I could call other guys to come pick it up and dump it. (Money wasted!!) Do not use, STORQUEST STORAGE!!! We have a business account and use our storage for overflow on everything from docs to equipment. Started with a small unit then moved up to a larger unit. The location is accessible, the premises well lit, and staff always ready with answers and assistance. Our staff is pleased with the overall service as well as the easily maneuverable parking lot (we use larger company trucks and the lot area here makes it easy to make turns, etc.). Would like to see specials, promos, or discounts made available for lengthier rental terms. Perhaps management would consider! read more
