Our local, San Leandro nonprofit needed more space than my laundry room/hallway/under bed storage for our events 1-2/m. I researched my local storage options well. Chose SafKeep because they had special pricing for first 3 months AND had a moving truck for move-ins and move-outs of storage unit AND offered free help moving into the unit! I needed drive up access to quickly load and unload the suv for day-of events. Check! Gated, clean, easy access to main roads, great customer service and management! Check, check, check! Very happy we chose SafKeep Storage! read more

Saf Keep Storage - Self Storage Near Me - San Leandro, California

I had my go-to storage space for decades but when I went to get a space they were very rude and said I needed to go online. I left and ended up at SafKeep. Irma was super helpful and friendly! We had a nice conversation about the lack of customer service lately. I really appreciate Irma and her staff! Also, it's clean and in a convenient location. The price was right, too! read more

Tried to pay online and wouldnt accept my registration. Called local office and was told "I have no idea," "Ive never used the online payment," "I dont know who to ask," "I'll try to find someone but I cant guarantee I can." So I had to read my credit card over the phone. At least she waived the late fee that was charged because I had tried 3 times to set up online payments but was unsuccessful. I guess I'll be giving her my credit card information each month - or I'll move out sooner than planned read more

The payment system is trash and the recommendation is to give the payment information over the phone to them. That is not a good solution.

The over all experience was great (except for 1 particular person which I explain at the end. The price is affordable, centrally located, easy to access, and over all exactly what you expect from a storage facility. However, Irma lacks proper customer service skills. She is unnecessarily dismissive and condescending. One specific incident: I called to notify the office that I had vacated my unit. Her response "what you should have done, is came into our office and told us so that we could inspect it". She should have probed to find out when I vacated rather than tell me what I should have done. I explained that while I wish I could have, I had done it after office hours. This was not the first interaction where she was less-than-friendly. Aside from her, everyone else was courteous and professional. read more

Long-term renters BEWARE! I initially rented my 5 x 10 storeroom in 2008 and my current rent is $179/month. Upon reviewing the local storage website, I noticed identical storerooms advertised for $69/month. So, I reached out to Irma who advised me that rents increase annually and there is nothing that she can do to adjust the rent on my storeroom. She went on to state that I can move my items into another 5 x 10 storeroom to take advantage of the lower rent. So much for customer loyalty, this is a bad business model. Class action anyone? read more

Very nice place and super nice people. Needed storage for a month and the were very accommodating. Will definitely recommend

This is the second time we've used this facility and Nikki helped us out on both. She showed us the storage unit first and offered to give us another one when I had trouble closing the door. The area is clean, well maintained, and there's cameras/gate to keep your items safe. read more

We used this facility for close to a year to store our whole household while we stayed with family. It was always clean, well-watched, and well maintained. One month our credit card expired without us realizing, causing our auto-payment to fail. Management contacted us promptly and were very respectful. When we moved everything out of the unit, it was all in perfect condition. read more

Came here a couple of times to help a friend both time staff was extremely rude first demanding something from us. The second time as customer was asked to move car from the front with 4 other parking spaces. I wouldn't come here it gets robbed all the time too. Stay away read more

Irma is rude and they present false advertising with forklift services. Never tell you about limits you can use the forklift. They are scammers texting to collect rent well after I moved out and notified them as well. Her and the big gentleman at front desk both lie so much I only stayed for a month and moved to another place. read more

Best rates I found in town! I was able to reserve a 5'14' unit online and I also received a discounted web price which of course I was happy about. I went to the S.L location first thing Saturday morning and was greeted by a very friendly CS rep, I believe his name was Juan? Very pleasant and helpful. He showed me the unit, I was sold! I definitely appreciate the on site management and alarm system on each unit. I feel my belongings are safe and secure. And I am right around the corner. Thanks for a pleasant experience! And making my move all the more easier. Great Job! read more

Loving on Safkeep again! have stored goods at many different facilities over the past 15 years. I am returning to Safkeep because of their reasonable rates, only once a year increases and top-flight customer service. George was a great help today , and gave me a secret special! Access is easy; mostly drive up units. Just do it! read more

Javier and Luis were extremely welcoming and detailed. Clean location throughout 5 Star Servixe

I referred someone in the past here as I performed extensive research on the best storage facilities around the area with the best service. Eventually, I knew I needed to have a unit for my business purposes. I must admit I was utterly surprised by the wonderful and professional service that came along with it as I signed up, and completed the paperwork in the office. read more

I would like to start by saying if you need a storage unit for things that are important to you, this is the place. EVERYONE FROM THE MANAGER to maintenance team are REAL PEOPLE, they are understanding that life happens. During this lock down i got far behind being out of work, and was able to work things out without losing my storage to auction. Communication is key, NOT TO MENTION my stuff is in a CLEAN AND SAFE ENVIRONMENT. Ive been a customer since 2017 and have NEVER EVER had any issues with bugs, mice, rat, water getting in my storage or break ins. And the prices are great, insurance is not expensive at all. They always have specials for new customers, trust me, this company is SO MUCH BETTER THEN PUBLIC STORAGE. Give them a try , if you need your stuff kept safe this is the place. I just want to THANK EVERYONE IN THE SAN LEANDRO OFFICE ON MARINA BLVD. U ALL ARE AN AMAZING TEAM!! THANK YOU FOR HELPING ME KEEP MY STORAGE OUT OF AUCTION. YOU FOR SURE HAVE A HAPPY CUSTOMER DURING THESE TRYING TIMES read more

Alright!!!! Excellent... I found the rates excellent and the office personnel polite and professional. The facility is clean and well maintained. I certainly will recommend this facility to neighbors, friends and family. 5 thumbs up!!!! Thanks read more

I was looking for a storage place to keep my stuff for a few months. Safe keep was close to my job and they had 50% off for two months. That's a win win situation. Went in Javier was very helpful and explained everything well. Next few days I met Jeff and he finished the paperwork. My move was local so they had a truck for me to use. I put down the 150.00 deposit and when I returned the truck I only had to pay the 15.00 dollars for the truck insurance plus put 10.00 in the gas tank. Win. I recommend this place on marina in san leandro . read more

Excellent customer service, and overall a very well run, clean facility.

This is my favorite storage location. I have use them 3 to 4 times over the past few years. Very clean property. I always see someone walking around spraying for pest. Which is greatly appreciated since I never had any issue with bugs. Prices are great and the people who work here are super nice and friendly. They are always willing you assist you. Would definitely recommend. read more

I love this storage place. The customer service is excellent and the facility is very clean and nice. The monthly raffles are also fun.

Super professional and friendly staff! Lowest rates even before their great discount programs, which brings the cost even down further. They have a wheel which you can spin for freebies, and I got a free lock, which was great! Otherwise, you'll have to provide a lock for your unit. If I ever need storage, I'm coming here read more

Safkeep offers free use of a truck when you move in, which is VERY useful. (You pay gas, insurance, and miles after 20; but it's still much cheaper than UHaul, and much more convenient.) They also have half-price rent offers on some units for the first 2 months. Friendly and helpful staff. What more could you want? read more

Very accomodating and friendly staff. Also the price is cheap compare to other storage.

Javier was extremely helpful in setting me up with vehicle storage. Facility is clean and looks secure. Very pleased to have a safe place to store my car. read more

Just a great place if you have to store things. The staff is amazing....nice.....helpful...courteous...pleasant! The prices are more than fair (just check out the terrible ones that Public Storage and others quote). If I had to say anything negative, it would only be that the light bulbs that illuminate the storage areas are somewhat dark and could be a lot brighter. However, I am very impressed by the security system they have and feel all my things are very, very safe (probably safer than if I kept them in my home). While they have insurance on the units, it is best price wise to get it from your insurance company....but they still offer it, if you need it. Having been at other storage places, this one is tops! Not a risk here........with opening and closing hours that make it very, very convenient to get to your items when you need to. I'll never search elsewhere again! read more
