The payment system is trash and the recommendation is to give the payment information over the phone to them. That is not a good solution.

Tried to pay online and wouldnt accept my registration. Called local office and was told "I have no idea," "Ive never used the online payment," "I dont know who to ask," "I'll try to find someone but I cant guarantee I can." So I had to read my credit card over the phone. At least she waived the late fee that was charged because I had tried 3 times to set up online payments but was unsuccessful. The over all experience was great (except for 1 particular person which I explain at the end. The price is affordable, centrally located, easy to access, and over all exactly what you expect from a storage facility. However, Irma lacks proper customer service skills. She is unnecessarily dismissive and condescending. One specific incident: I called to notify the office that I had vacated my unit. Her response "what you should have done, is came into our office and told us so that we could inspect it". She should have probed to find out when I vacated rather than tell me what I should have done. I explained that while I wish I could have, I had done it after office hours. Long-term renters BEWARE! I initially rented my 5 x 10 storeroom in 2008 and my current rent is $179/month. Upon reviewing the local storage website, I noticed identical storerooms advertised for $69/month. So, I reached out to Irma who advised me that rents increase annually and there is nothing that she can do to adjust the rent on my storeroom. She went on to state that I can move my items into another 5 x 10 storeroom to take advantage of the lower rent. So much for customer loyalty, this is a bad business model. We used this facility for close to a year to store our whole household while we stayed with family. It was always clean, well-watched, and well maintained. One month our credit card expired without us realizing, causing our auto-payment to fail. Management contacted us promptly and were very respectful. Irma is rude and they present false advertising with forklift services. Never tell you about limits you can use the forklift. They are scammers texting to collect rent well after I moved out and notified them as well. Best rates I found in town! I was able to reserve a 5'14' unit online and I also received a discounted web price which of course I was happy about. I went to the S.L location first thing Saturday morning and was greeted by a very friendly CS rep, I believe his name was Juan? Very pleasant and helpful. He showed me the unit, I was sold! I definitely appreciate the on site management and alarm system on each unit. I feel my belongings are safe and secure. And I am right around the corner. Thanks for a pleasant experience! I was looking for a storage place to keep my stuff for a few months. Safe keep was close to my job and they had 50% off for two months. That's a win win situation. Went in Javier was very helpful and explained everything well. Next few days I met Jeff and he finished the paperwork. My move was local so they had a truck for me to use. I put down the 150.00 deposit and when I returned the truck I only had to pay the 15.00 dollars for the truck insurance plus put 10.00 in the gas tank. Win. Safkeep offers free use of a truck when you move in, which is VERY useful. (You pay gas, insurance, and miles after 20; but it's still much cheaper than UHaul, and much more convenient.) Just a great place if you have to store things. The staff is amazing....nice.....helpful...courteous...pleasant! The prices are more than fair (just check out the terrible ones that Public Storage and others quote). If I had to say anything negative, it would only be that the light bulbs that illuminate the storage areas are somewhat dark and could be a lot brighter. However, I am very impressed by the security system they have and feel all my things are very, very safe (probably safer than if I kept them in my home). While they have insurance on the units, it is best price wise to get it from your insurance company....but they still offer it, if you need it. Having been at other storage places, this one is tops! Not a risk here........with opening and closing hours that make it very, very convenient to get to your items when you need to. I'll never search elsewhere again! read more
