My storage was "broken into" I was the only unit that was broken into miraculously after I called concerned about when I can make my payment by to avoid a late fee since I was out of state with no job. Right after that my things were taken. I had someone send me a photo of what was in there. When I actually got to my unit there was MORE items missing than what the picture showed so that just confirms it was the people at public storage. I lost so many valuable things. So much was taken even documents and things that I held dear to my heart. I thought I could trust this place everyone seemed great but once they realize you're not around I wouldn't trust them to care and protect your things. The insurance is a joke please get your own coverage in addition to or in lieu of. I lost over $12k of valuables. From all my kitchen appliances to devices to pictures and they took every single last pair of shoes I had. Over 60 pairs of shoes goneeee. I'm still livid and this happened last year!!! What a horrible process. They don't care to answer the phone. Please do not rent here! They need to be investigated. Nothing can fix the pain and stress I went through. No money can make what happened right when all my memories are gone. Don't trust this place please. They were in on whatever happened and came back for seconds to finish the job when noticed I didn't have enough money for a flight straight away & don't even respond with your LIES I don't want to hear it !! Worst place ever They run a scam here Be very careful off leaving a gum rapper behind they will charge you $80 to clean up nothing These people have no morals or respect for anyone except themselves. They will threaten to call the police on you if you disagree with there wrong practices So basically if you have a disagreement with the manager kumar he will threaten to call the police so he will get his way . Also his higher ups will tell you the same thing so be very careful renting from these people unless you have money to just give them for nothing then this is the place for you . I would give them zero stars if I could There manger is lazy owns up to nothing just walks around the property like he owns the place yet they don't address any problems with there facilities . Leaking roofs / elevator works half the time / bathroom is always closed to paying customers it's never opened / kumar just hangs out inside his apartment they have for him there . The elevator to access the second floor has been inoperative for months. Messages phoned in are not returned by management. If you use this facility I do not recommend any unit which depends upon the elevator to access it. read more

Can I give 0 stars? I tried to rent a 10 by 18 unit they rented me a unit that was leaking water from the walls had a 4' door The light switch was broken and jagged And there is a firemain in my unit that takes up a 3 by 3 area to the ceiling. Of course I didn't get to see it 1st because of covid, that's the scam they are playing. When I called corporate I got absolutely no help the only answer was "you can move to a different Public storage altogether because we don't have any other units at that address."Who cares that I took the day off to do this? Who cares if I needed the 8' door to get large items through. Did they mention any of this stuff to me? Absolutely not they just rented me the unit and expect me to take another day off of work because they have their heads up their a$$. read more

The staff at the San Leandro location on Washington are super helpful. Five stars for Kumar! My assistant hasn't stopped talking about how helpful he was to us, while we were in the process of emptying out my storage unit. She and some of her family members also rent storage units at other locations, and she said he was the most helpful Public Storage employee she's ever met. read more

It's between hours of operation but there is a sign that says due to I forseen circumstances the store is closed. Kumar is the best front desk receptionist ever he's super nice, keeps the office clean smalls good, helps you with anything you need and will show you your storage if you really need it while pulling the carts, if anybody needed a storage this is a really good place to go, and they have extra security for the storages so I feel definitely safe to have a storage unit here. read more

This is the absolute worst storage facility you can possibly choose. They promise you a one dollar unit for the first month and then they bait and switch and tell you that they have to switch you to a different unit because the one dollar unit was already promised somebody else etc. etc. I've had nothing but problems with these people and had it not been for an emergency the last couple years and having the need to store my stuff in that area then I would've never ever stayed with them and I definitely would've asked for my money back.Save your money go to a better storage facility and don't allow them to screw up your stuff like they screwed up mine read more

I paid for my storage unit 1400 due to late fees and non payment I've been in communication with the storage and never once did they mention Lien or auctions as in result to my unit. As soon as payment is made I would be able to gain access to my storage. I made my payment in full...my lock was taken off and their lock was replaced in my locks place. I open my unit ad Come to find out all my belongings are ransacked and everything is gone an all that is left were boxes on top of boxes of nothing but packing material and some more empty boxes with trash were put in the boxes . . When I brought this to the property managers attention her name is felicia this is at the 15285 hesperian san leandro ca. Location..she laughed in my face shurgged her shoulders & turned the situation around and told me to get off the property. Wouldn't have anytime to understand where I'm coming from and help me find out why this like this. Wouldn't show or look into any camera footage never told me in our communications that my lock was cut off and replaced with their lock the door is made to have 2 locks put on to it.1 being there's if needed and my lock. My lock should have never been taken off... MY STUFF IN MY UNIT IS ALL SCATTERED AND GONE !. SHE WOULDT LOOK AT FOOTAGE TO HELP FIGURE THIS OUT SHE WOULDN'T GIVE ME A PRINT OUT OF MY ACCOUNT INFORMATION SO THAT WAY I WOULD BE ABLE TO FILE A COMPLAINT. The service I received from Z gets a 5 star all day! She's personable yet professional, and that's the right mix when working with the public. I actually required a bit more hand holding as I've never rented a space before, which means I said yes to one space and then asked to make a change. Z was accommodating, even though it caused many more steps in the process. The space I (finally) settled on was clean and easy to access. I had zero issues with entrance during business hours and other "tenants" were also pleasant. There were zero issues in this business transaction. The reason for the 4 star rating is the co policy on pro-rates. I had to pay for the entire month when I closed out my account on the 4th day of the new month. I am guessing all storage places have something similar, so it is what it is. read more

Clean, friendly, easy access, not expensive, the carts are always available. Z is great. We've used other storage places before and ran into rat droppings, insects, etc. (yuck! I know!) and have used this site for two years without problems. For that, I am very greatful - all of our stuff in storage is going into our new home problem-free.
