This business does sneaky tricks to scam you out of your money. I rented the unit at a discount price, and they randomly raised the price without consulting me. I called and asked how my total cost increased from $50 to $80 a month for a little 5 x 5 spot, and they said I received an email with the raised price. I tried to find this email, but I could not. They send tons of emails so that they can raise your rates without you noticing! I spent months being overcharged and probably lost $150 when I could have been storing my items at a cheaper place if I new the rent increased. I at least wanted to take my stuff out and get my money back for this upcoming month, but they refused even though I never consented to this increased price. Ridiculous. read more

Management for Whitewood location took over a month to get back to me regarding a billing issue. Chanel, Kiara, and District Supervisor Anthony were all NO help at all. Every time someone informed me of something, it was never documented. Therefore, I had to keep replaying the entire situation over and over, and because there were no proper notes taken, nobody knew what the hell was going on. The last time I spoke to Anthony, I literally had a panic attack on the phone, and I had to hang up. No joke. Not to mention, more fees had been added since that particular call. I was told one thing by one person on company chat and did just that, then punished more so for doing just that. So unethical and bad business standards from the beginning. No business should ever get to this point, period!!! This is a TERRIBLE one-star business at the most, with terrible customer service 99.99999% of the time. If you want a storage unit, think twice. Don't say I didn't warn you. I literally can not handle and have no patience for such simpletons, and will hopefully be moving companies soon. We were on a search today to find indoor storage for our boat. After going to multiple storage places and being unsuccessful (even after calling first) we were extremely frustrated. We finally called Public Storage in Murrieta. Having to talk to the call center first was tge only bad part. They connected us to Amber. My husband told her what we were looking for she took his number to call us right back because she was going out to measured for us. She called back and they had the height that we needed. Once we got there Amber showed us the unit. It waa tall enough, but we were unable to back the boat up do to where it was located. She had another one available that she thought might work. Unfortunately it wasn't wide enough. We finally just decided on an outdoor spot because the property was very clean and seemed pretty secure. Amber's customer service was incredible. She walked all over for us trying to find something in the 90 degree weather. We were tired and frustrated and her friendly attitude and customer service kept everything calm. This is a 24 hour access big box storage facility. So keep that in mind, I don't feel they keep the facility up like the smaller independents do. I've noticed a couple reviews where people have had their trailers broken in to. I've also noticed a lot of trash build up in the outside storage area...neglect and lack of management keeping up the maitenance. There are very few 110v outlets around the facility. Those can be very handy for say hooking up a vacuum to clean your vehicle, hook up a light or just a need for power. This is an okay storage facility but they have areas for improvement that I've mentioned. I park my personal car there from time to time and have not had any issues. read more

Surprised and Disappointed. I had reserved a 10 x 20 unit online. I planned to complete the paperwork after seeing the unit. It would be a 3rd floor location (no problem). Each occupant has limited access to their assigned building only (nice safety consideration) and they have an online app. Things were looking promising but then the Red Flags began presenting themselves. As we approached the loading area/elevators to the proposed assigned building, there was an older gentleman park in front, outside the loading area, who asked Aaron if he was still looking for a cart for him. The man reminded Aaron that the last time he had waited 2 hours to get a cart. There were No carts in the lobby at the time (granted it was 1pm on a Monday after a major holiday), No Carts... that's a problem! Clearly the sign says that carts are provided as a Courtesy. Aaron stated it's recommended you bring your own cart. (Sigh). I have used Public Storage for years in Orange County and I never had an issue finding an available cart. According to other reviews for this specific location apparently that's an ongoing problem). Red Flag # 2 - Approaching the 3rd floor unit there was a large area of water on the ground in front of a unit (about 3 spaces over). Either the occupant of the unit was storing something that leaked or due to the recent heavy rains there was leaking from the roof (3rd floor is top floor). Aaron's response to that observation was that he "would need to get a mop and mop that up". How about you look into the cause and report to corporate before damage occurs to the units below/near the water leak. Needless to say, I'm glad I was able to reserve and lock in a unit rate online in advance but that I didn't complete the full online application without first seeing the unit. I did not go forward and rent a unit as these Red Flags were enough for me to think twice! Sorry Pubic Storage I could only give 2 stars for this location. Could be a nice facility if they deal with the Red Flags (Provide carts (install locking mechanism if necessary to prevent theft) and identify cause of water leak (inspect and repair the roof). Pooling water of any kind at a storage facility should be taken seriously. read more

I have had storage units at 3 other locations. Monica was so helpful. I am computer savvy but made an oops renting online. I went to Monica the next day and she "magically" fixed my problem. I think many places are short-staffed and Public Storage might be. But the service they provide makes it seems like they has plenty of staff. Arron the manager helped me get into my unit. If I did not plan to move soon I would move some things that I have at another facility to this one. I obtained that unit before I knew about Public Storage. I am on the second floor which I thought would be awful. It is not. I can use a dolly for no added charge and the security is awesome. A code to get into the storage area, a code to getting into the lobby and a code to get into the elevator. My code does not allow me access to other floors. It might seem like a lot but it is seamless. And affordable. I feel like I can have access anytime they are open. The other facility has a zig-zag ramp which is difficult to navigate. I wish I would have rented with Public Storage with Monica and Aaron before today. I am grateful for their perfect customer service. read more

She said I am really busy I am the only one hear and I have a customer and I need to go get lunch. Not my problem you are there to take care of customers and need to talk to your manager for help. The staff was professional, personable, and knowledgeable. The manager(owner?) of the property called us back within the hour of leaving a message and answered all of our questions. He was very friendly. When we were getting our storage unit, Monica and Loulou, (front desk women) helped us every step of the way. The units are clean, dry, and look brand new. They have a gated security system and the temperature control building only allows you to access the floor your locker is on. They even have an app you can use for the doors. Called in and I was instructed to complete registration online (self check in with lock/key ready in unit) Nope! Once completed I was told I needed to still see the office even after being told it was self check in. They tried to get me to drive to another office miles away to prove my identity but nope... no one at that office either. Said come back tomorrow. I wasn't paying for my truck an extra night because they don't staff their facility when plans to have customers come in exist ? Just said forget it and I will go somewhere else. I still went to different places in person and stopped at Public Storage. My bf and I spoke with Amber who was kind, pleasant and very informative. On 5/28/2023 (4 mos later) I received notice my unit price was increasing $50 a month! Contacted corporate and was basically told "sorry, nothing we can do". Explained I had only been there 4 months, and nothing. Terrible customer service. Needless to say I'll be moving my stuff out prior to that cutoff date. Guess the mighty dollar is still worth more than great customer service. Wouldnt even negotiate with me. Super annoyed. Someone else will be getting my business! read more

Went to get my stuff out of my storage unit after it only being 2 months to find all my stuff covered in ants!!! Never ever have I had this happen. I've used other storage units for a year at a time and it's been fine. Horrible to try and move and then have to open and examine each box and wipe each thing down. Especially when you already cleaned everything before putting it in. Also while we were there another lady across the storage facility opened her unit to find the same thing! When you're paying over $200 a month they should be spraying the perimeter. Also just know they charge a mandatory insurance fee. You to get insurance! And the girl would NOT honor the price I found online/and was given when I booked my unit, even when I showed her the confirmation email and website. read more
