I had 3 units at the Murrieta cube smart, all of my units had double locks for years. One day I came in and on all 3 units the 2nd lock were gone. I inspected the units and things were moved around. I informed the office and they assured me no one in their office had removed the locks and that they did not have a master key. Which was all BS. DO NOT get a storage unit with these people, they will go through your stuff. read more

We made the mistake of moving into the WRONG space... the OWNER VERY VERY UNREASONABLE.. since we moved into the WRONG space wanted us to pay an additional 300.00 a month for NOW "premium" space we occupied. what makes this space "premium?" You ask... well it's kinda a straight shot to pull up to the space...and has a slight asphalt lip... to the front ... we were given 24 hours to pay the difference or move to our original space... the owner has no heart and would NOT make an exception for this mistake... either put up or SHIT UP... this is one sad state of affairs that such a simple change can be made but because the OLD MIGHTY DOLLAR.. would not allow this soulless man make an exception.. read more

A quick follow-up. We moved out on 12/20, and all went well. Thanks to our wonderful friends who jumped in to help us. We rented a U-Haul and U-Haul storage unit and got all our stuff moved in about 2 hours. The U-Haul bill was a whopping $39, and our new rate for a unit of almost identical size is $98 per month. This is an annual savings of $1,368, including the moving costs, and U-Haul gave us a free lock (now we have an extra lock). Before you rent here, look around like I should have, it will save you a headache later. I would NOT recommend this CubeSmart location. PS. The attendant at CubeSmart the night we moved out was very nice. That's the ONLY positive for this CubeSMart location! read more

CubeSmart Self Storage in Murrieta raised my rate on my unit every six to eight months. CubeSmart would not take my renters insurance I had to purchase their insurance. The new storage facility took my renters insurance. After my last rate increase from $135 to $151 for a 5x10x10 I could not afford to stay any longer and found a storage unit for much cheaper. Also, I moved on the 7th of the month and was paid through the 17th of the month and CubeSmart would not prorate the money back to me. What a scam. So CubeSmart can rent my unit with a new tenant and now they are doubling their money for the rest of the month. Nice CubeSmart. In my opinion DO NOT rent a storage space from CubeSmart. read more

I don't know why I can't review for the Monroe, Murrieta location, but since it's the same manager for both, this will do. I rented a large storage unit to store product for my business. I visited a few times a week to pick up inventory and put new inventory away. The longest I ever spent there was around two hours. Not unreasonable. Then I get a text message from the manager saying that I'm spending to much time there and that I'm breaking the terms of my contract. I had to ask TWICE, how long would be reasonable. I was told 15 minutes. That is absolutely ridiculous. I was paying almost $300 a month to only be able to access my unit for 15 minutes. Needless to say, I didn't stay. Overall, Horrible management. Communication skills could use work. And pricy considering they pull you in with a lower price and raise the rent 2 months in. I couldn't recommend this place less. read more

We went to our space today to get out our Halloween decorations. We rent a climate controlled unit. When we got there, we saw that the door was being held open by bungy cords. I asked the manager what was going on. She told me that the AC was out, and she was trying to make the units cooler by keeping the door open. I asked her why was I being charged for a climate controlled unit, but the AC is not functioning. I asked her when it was being repaired. She didn't know. I asked her how long the AC was out, she said "A few weeks". I asked her why they didn't notify the customers. She said she was told not to. I explained to her that it was fraudulent to charge people for AC when there is no AC. She stated I would have to contact the district manager. She could not refund me the difference. This is absurd. I took pictures of the AC unit, looks like it's been broken for awhile. I decided I shouldn't have to run around chasing after a refund. I decided to sue them instead, and I'm also reporting them to the better business bureau. This is ridiculous. read more

The costumer service at cubesmart murrieta is really bad. They are not there to help make things easier. I have been a customer for several years and moved out of town. The managers there made paying for my storage unit very difficult. Ive spent more than $10k on unit costs over the last three years yet they wont make paying fees accommodating. A General Manager at the cubesmart in Las Vegas didnt understand why cubesmart Murrieta wouldnt take my payment over the phone. I heard great things about this storage company and it was near my current location with move-in specials so I went for it without searching any other companies, which probably was my first mistake. I went in to look at the storage units and decided on one of the sizes with the free month special and Candace was very nice and welcoming. Very accommodating to my needs and my situation. But I had to go back the next day and switch to a bigger storage bc I had more stuff than estimated. The demeanor in Candace's customer service compared to the day before was a total 180, she was very opposite and standoffish from when I initially met her. I ended up having to just get whole different storage bc they didn't have the biggest size available. And the bigger unit I got in addition to the one I already had didn't have any specials on it whatsoever. How does that make sense? So now I am paying almost $300 for 2 storages a month. Would not recommend this location in my opinion. Customer service alone was the thing here that really affected my experience with Cubesmart. read more
