Jefferson Self Storage used to be great but the service is horrible. The storage unit has been great over the last year but without notice the price increased. Both my wife and I have contacted Linda, the manager of the place by phone. Before you even say hello and the reason for your call Linda is extremely rude over the phone and acts like she hates you. I'm extremely upset with the manager at the Jefferson self storage she never explained all the extra fees just to transfer my name instead of my husband's name, the monthly payment should be the same as I was already paying. I'm going to the better business bureau after this. A manager should no better and explain everything before things are changed. And the one star is giving to much for this place. read more

The woman running this place is extremely unpleasant and unprofessional to work with. Her name started with an L but I can't remember it now. Her attitude is absolutely awful and she hung the phone up on us.. We will be taking our things elsewhere. She needs to change her attitude towards paying customers.. This storage facility is mediocre. The units themselves are fine, access is fine. But there seems to be a real disconnect between management and the lower employees. And heaven forbid you try to move your stuff out. I got a unit from JSS in July 2011, intending to store our furniture until our house was ready (approximately 3 months). The manager, Linda, lives on site and was plenty nice to me up front. She even told me that they had a truck we could use to move in and out for free up to 60 miles. I went in the next day and did all the paperwork for the truck and was told by the assistant that we could come by and pick it up at 7 AM the next morning. 7 AM the next morning we came to pick up the truck. The office was closed. We ended up having to wait until 11 AM (Sunday hours) before we could even get the truck. The assistant seemed confused that we didn't already pick it up. Apparently all we had to do was "knock on Linda's door and ask for the truck"...a set of instructions that was conveniently left out the day before. I don't know about Linda though, but if it was my day off and I had an assistant telling people to come pester me at 7 AM, I'd be peeved. Moving went fine and by 4 PM we were getting ready to make a second trip for the straggling items. The assistant walked over to us while we were loading the unit and told us that she was closing up for the day, but that we had the truck until 7 PM and we just needed to take the gas receipt and "knock on Linda's door and give it to her". At 6:30 I went and "knocked on Linda's door" to give her the gas receipt. Instead of answering the door, she appeared on the balcony and shouted down at me that we were supposed to have the truck back by 4. Hmm that's odd. Her assistant specifically said 7. I'm starting to feel like maybe this assistant doesn't realize what the rules are and is just pulling stuff out of her ass. I ended up giving the gas receipt to the owner's son with the promise that the assistant would be talked to. When it came time for us to finally move into our new house, I called the number on the internet for their parent storage facility, only to be routed to a call center. I explained to the lady at the call center that I was just giving an intent to vacate our unit. She took my name, unit number, and phone number and promised to forward the message to the JSS office. No less than 10 minutes later I got a call from "Desiree" at the office. She seemed confused and said "I received a message from the call center that you were stranded outside trying to get into the office?" Hmm what? I explained to her that I had no idea where that message came from, but in reality I was just giving an intent to vacate notice. She said great and asked for my unit number. When I told her, she said "we don't even have units of that number here". The genius at the call center not only was completely bat shit and didn't even know what I was trying to do, but she forwarded the message to the complete wrong storage center. I finally got in touch with Linda at JSS again and told her we were moving. I asked if we could move out on Saturday, October 1 (the only day where my husband would even be around and we would even have a car). She said no unless we wanted to pay another $170 for the whole month. Eeeerg. Fine, I guess I'll move Friday but I don't know how that's going to work, considering I have no car and am too pregnant to carry boxes. But I vowed to make it work. Then I remembered that JSS had that whole free truck thing going on. I figured a free truck and a few day laborers and we could have that done in a few hours. I called Linda and asked her if the truck was available. IT WAS! Oh, but only for the cost of $29.95 and $1.25 per mile. Damn, that is more expensive than Uhaul! So summary: Units are fine. Just standard units, slightly more expensive than market rate unless you get a special. Management doesn't communicate well with lower employees, lower employees appear to be rougish and not care about business practices. Free truck is only free until you decide to move out. read more

I definitely recommend this facility for storage and truck rentals. It is new looking, clean and Ray and Linda S. ( and the entire staff ) are extra friendly and helpful. Ray takes pride in his work and checks the trucks personally before signing them out to the customers. He is concerned that they don't break down and his care and extra effort is very much appreciated. Linda ( and the entire staff ) are extra friendly and helpful. Look no further! TEAM Linda & Ray treat you like family. They put "C" in community. Even though I was only there for 7 months, hands down there is no other storage unit to rent from. The facility is clean, conveniently located off I-15, and any what if's or ohh by the ways Linda will answer them for you ever so patiently. From move in to move out, you can't beat their rates or the best part, their usage of the Penske moving trucks. JSS is military friendly and the environment is secure. Great honest people . I picked the wrong size and they were more than happy to tell me ahead of time vs sell me a unit that didn't fit .

Price is reasonable for the space. They are very nice and offered us a moving truck to borrow to get our initial stuff in. I visit a couple times a month and it's always no hassle. Units are clean and easy to get to. My biggest fear about storing my stuff somewhere was accumulating critters and spiders. Not an issue here! They must spray regularly to keep them out. Units are configured as two-layer and helps keep the temperature down during the summer. I went in the middle of summer and it wasn't bad at all inside the unit. Only issue is closing time: I work late so I can almost never get into the storage unit unless it's my day off since they close at 7pm. read more

Buyer beware. Their rate increases are every 11 months and are higher than the average yearly rate of inflation. They don't mention this upon signing up, you'll get a letter stating "operating expenses do increase." What operating expenses exactly if this is a SELF STORAGE business. Not to mention their camera set up is below average. I have been a loyal customer for two years now, never delinquent on any payments and I'm now paying $168 a month for a 10x10 drive up non climate controlled unit, when I first moved in I was paying $134 a month, which only lasted a few months before that rate was quickly increased well before their "11 month" period of rate increases as stated when I called them. The current rate of the same unit as mine (10x10 drive up non climate controlled unit) is listed online for $145 a month for new customers. How is this ethically sound? How does this make any sense? So you treat new customers to cheaper prices to get them in the door in the hopes they will not move out once you've got them? Very, very disappointed in this business. read more

I had a bad experience at my PREVIOUS storage facility so when I came here and met Linda and Ray all my storage nightmares were over! I have had my storage unit at JSS for about 9 years. I have a temp controlled unit which is great during the hot summer months. Ray and Linda have always been so helpful and kind. If your looking for storage this is the place to go! read more
