I had 1 small trash bag and a kid comes running out of the office and says I can't throw it away, I responded 1 bag and he said no it's not a public dumpster but I'm a customer. The top reason for the low star rating: over priced. we came in paying about $90/month for a 5x10 interior space. didn't realize it was interior until we had to move in and getting our furniture in was a pain (couch got ripped because of it). after about a few months the price started going up. at the end, we are moved out already, we were paying $137. absolutely outrageous for such a small, interior space. on top of the overpricing, this location DOES NOT check their cameras. we got broken into in september and were told that "they checked the cameras" but unfortunately the camera that was by the door to get into the hallway where our space was, was not working. and supposedly they didn't see any other suspicious vehicles/people. only my space and the next door space was broken into. (about $200 worth of appliances and tools stolen) also, getting charged $11 a month for insurance, and when you have to make an insurance claim, it's a $50 deductible. so if we lost $200 worth of stuff, we are only getting $150 back. we were a customer for over 2 years, almost $300 going to insurance and we still had a deductible at the end of the day. when we are finally moving out, my husband asked if he can throw some trash out in the dumpster, the lady behind the counter said to just toss it over the fence (instead of getting up and unlocking the fence for us). my husband felt uncomfortable doing that, he didn't want to seem on the cameras as he's dumping illegally, and the lady clearly stated, they don't check cameras, it's ok. mind blown. aside from all those issues, i've never called that location and had someone immediately pick up the phone. i always have to leave a message before getting a call back. almost like they're screening the calls. this was our first experience with using storage and 100% will not be going back to this location any time soon. the only upside was that our lock on our storage unit got fixed pretty quickly. they had a locksmith come the same day they realized it was broken in. read more

I'm moving from El Cajon to Winchester CA finding storage sight unseen was scary. I spoke with Chantel originally and she was SUPER helpful with helping me find the best way to reserve my storage unit. She saved me $$! July first when I was scheduled to move in I had to find the location in an area I was un familiar with. I called while on my way to the storage I wanted to know if someone would be there to help me, guide me etc. and Amber who was working but due to leave before I arrived,waited 30 min for me to be sure i was comfortable with the process. Be warned! They do not work with customers well. The employees are almost never there or available. On one occasion I waited an hour to be seen, and another I came during there lunch break but they took an extra thirty minutes. Biggest downfall was being 1 day late on clearing my storage unit, they wouldn't accept payment for the 1 day of storage use. My brother had a unit had it for a couple months then he brought in some rims. He got notified lock was missing and upon arrival he realized rims were missing, according to Public Storage someone broke in. When my brother moved out he found the lock in the storage not broken but opened only other person with key was the storage and him. So it's strange that he was told it was broken into when in reality someone that works there unlocked the storage and STOLE his rims. read more

I rented a 10x10 unit from Public Storage in Menifee for two years and I was very satisfied with their service. The facility was clean, secure, and well-maintained. The staff (Chanel) was friendly, helpful, and responsive. The prices are reasonable for different sized units. They offered online payment and access to open gates and doors with your phone with the APP. Literally the worst customer service I have ever experienced! I never leave reviews but this was so bad I just had to. They left us without a code to get in, we were left waiting hours going back and forth with corporate trying to get a gate code, mind you this was during normal business hours but for whatever reason they weren't there at the facility. I had already paid and had an assigned unit otherwise I would have gone elsewhere. We had all our stuff on a trailer, had friends helping us and it took about 6 hours and we still never got a code! It was a super cool customer that let us in and let us out! Their prices are high and the girls that work there are rude, when you can actually get a hold of them. I rarely write reviews but I have to warn prospect customers to NOT use public storage locks unless you don't have anything valuable in your storage. We apparently had a break in and found a ball of rolled up socks in our unit, which the police later said was used for wiping down fingerprints. The lock was still intact but not facing the right way. (We were careful to lock up the same way after every trip to the storage) We store some of our products in the unit and two boxes were stolen. After a lengthy process with the insurance company, we were denied coverage saying there was no evidence of a break in and they cannot reimburse the cost of the stolen items. Meaning to say that if it's an inside job, it's your loss. Still give two stars because front desk is very helpful, but the whole situation left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

Gate was fully open for over three days, unmonitored (right after they had several units broke into) while they waited for a gate repair. The manager here has been lovely to work with during my rental here. I do need to share I was not given an initial $1 rental fee for the first month, nor has the last month's rental been prorated, though I moved out on the 6th of the month. This has been a disappointing & expensive experience in light of these corporate values. No one has been able to help me receive better service. Warning don't store your stuff at public storage !!! I will never store my belongings at another public storage ever again in my life . As I was signing up I Made Sure they were going to be able to prorate me when I was ready to move out . The manager Donna told me yes of course not a problem . So I moved my belongings in there. During the construction of my place we ran into problems witch made me keep my stuff in storage longer than planned . At this point I'm spending more money on the build and more money at the storage and it's adding up more than planned . As I move out on the 1st there was no one there to sign me out of my storage so I figure I'll get a bill for 1 day of usage . Not at all !!! Public S wanted a full months rent !!! Even after I was told at the beginning I was going to be prorated ! The renegotiated the contract during my stay and no longer were going to prorate me!!! This is breach of contract in my opinion !!! And is why I'm leaving this bad review for others . I've talked to managers , supervisors , corporate office and still that are not willing to stay true to there word on prorating me on 1 day!!! It's now gone to collections ! This is bullying me to pay! May you greedy greedy people get your karma that's coming to you . Worst experience ever! $225 for 1 day folks! You've been warned !! PS . I didn't have much to store so I did not want a bigger storage that would cost me more money. Aaron got right on it!! I was able to get a great deal! I've rented with public storage (different locations), as well as other facilities over the years. By far the tri-team (Donna, Aaron and Natalie) have been very helpful. Each of them portray business like and courteous manners. At the same time their friendly attitudes makes you feel like family. I'm grateful for their service with a smile. My only complaint, I was not given the special $1 (one time) monthly fee as advertised and told. I expressed my dismay at the time of filling out the move in papers. It was to be followed up and someone was to get back to me & they never did. I strongly feel that point was overlooked and should be honored. All in all I'm pleased with the location of my unit. I haven't experienced any other problems As long as the management doesn't change, there is no major price increase, plus I have a need for the service, I'll remain with public storage. read more

Donna is a superb manager, totally down to earth n just all around good people. Her employee, whos name i totally forgot (Sorry Darling!!) was a total sweetheart. We rented a 12 x 10 storage at Public Storage located at 33275 Antelop Rd Murrieta CA on January 11 2019. We choose this place because of good reviews and we had already rented a space here in 2017 and we didn't have any problems. When we rented again on January 11, 2019 with Aaron who has a quiet spirit and very good in customer service and was the one who gave the lock to us. My only concern is I've noticed there's no security guard, but they have camera and a gate code and we put 2 locks that I bought in 2017 and the one Aaron gave us, we thought, it's safe! We went there so many times because we have put our trust in storing all our belongings at Public Storage, everything we have owned and worked hard for decades. Items like our shoes some are brand new never worn brand name, clothes most of them are brand new, I love buying things on sale, buys them and just hung it never wear them and some have stickers on it, printer brand new, camera, tablet, mechanical, electrical & garden tools, pots and pans some are brand new never use, christian books, christian frames like the Lord's Prayer, On Eagle's Wings, Jesus is the Vine, Love is Kind, 24 x 24 vanity mirror, my Vietnam Jacket and caps and many more. Our family and wedding albums which is priceless. I served in the US Navy in Vietnam and we are always prepare for battle. Never in my life that I would be violated such as this where everything my wife and I have worked for would just be taken away by someone in a second. When Aaron called us and told us that our padlock look different from the one he gave us and there's 1 lock and not 2. We drove all the way from San Diego county on March 1 2019 but came back the next day to look for a locksmith to open our storage. We have paid $125 for the locksmith to open it. The Manager is out that day and will be back next Friday to open it but we have decided to hire a locksmith. When Dan broke the lock because the thieves destroyed the 2 locks we have put and put theirs, my heart was broken. My wife cried and was wailing so loud and crying Justice Lord, Justice. The locksmith was also touched didn't know what to do. My wife's heart grieved and she felt she was violated because the christian frames, the family and wedding albums were also taken. Why? What have we done to you people? You not only robbed us but there's another 4 victims whom you robbed the same 2 days of February 18 and 19 2019, the camera showed a man was walking back and forth in the same area where the 5 of us were robbed. You make Public Storage and other facilities looked bad. People now are afraid to put their belongings because of people like you who pretend to be a customer by renting a space so you can get a code and do the works of Your Father SATAN. . This is what I am going to say to you, May God have mercy on your soul. Vengeance is Mine, says the Lord Almighty, I will repay, said the Lord. This was the second time I had to get a storage unit and by far I had the best experience working with Aaron. He showed me two units that I might be interested in. He took the time to explain all the fees that would be a part of my rental and I think that was the best do to the fact I HATE hidden fees (hell who doesn't) lol.
