They said they knew the man who did it and never reported him or had him evicted from his unit. DO NOT EVER trust this place with your items. 10/10 customer service. Always so friendly and helpful. Don't recommend the insurance they use. Definitely get your own, but she was so helpful with the whole process. Even attempted to let the insurance company know they were wrong for not covering the damage we had from another Tennant. This is the second time I've used this place. The storage facility and grounds are very clean, The rental fee is very reasonable compared to other storage businesses. I have used Extra Space quite a long time now, this being my second unit with them. Love the staff, and the facility is fine. I'm planning on just getting rid of my things as soon as possible at this point due to their constantly rising rates. When I first rented, my monthly charge was a fairly reasonable amount (I think it was $158/mo.). Unfortunately, that doesn't last for long here. They raise the rent about every six months. I'm now paying nearly $300 a month, which is about double the amount I signed up at. I won't be using them again. I honestly just can't afford it. I would recommend the facility for short-term needs, but that's about it. read more

Put a lock on my unit because their systems failed to charge my account properly.. Was notified ONLY cash would be accepted for past dues, no if and's or buts.. Escalated to upper and corporate management who stated they same, cash only, EVEN after verifying it was nowhere in the contract cash only for back payments; it actually states there is a $25 feeder returned checks, and that cash, debit/credit or check can be made to make up for payments.. Freda is the gangsta in the front office that acts as the front of their Mob, trying to strong arm you.. Be prepared you can't organize your space after the first day you move in but I appreciate that means they're on top of people not just hanging out there. I moved out of a 5x5 storage unit that held all of my new items including a queen size bed mattress, couch, island table, one box and a few other furniture pieces. Upon moving out all of my belongings I realize they are all wet and damaged from the rain. I also notice there's bugs inside the unit and inside the plastic protectors wrapping all of my items. My new mattress destroyed with mold. Not only that but the floor of the unit and the ceiling of the hallway was all wet and the ceiling clearly had water damaged too and you can see the ceiling caving in too! I paid for supposedly their best unit that included protection from all of those things.... I had hoped to sell some of those items but now I can't because they're all damaged. Each one. I brought this to the attention of the site manager Frida who wasn't any help or considerate when I brought this to her attention. read more

Like any last minute situation, I had to rent out a storage unit with very little preparation. I had gone to several local locations only to be greeted with terrible customer service and dirty storage units. When I arrived at extra space storage I was greeted by Freda I immediately felt better. I had so many uncertainties about what I needed. Freda made sure I got a large enough unit. Nice facilities but that's the only nice thing to say. Gas was stolen from my boat's tank. Prices go up continually with no notice. $85 to $120/month in about 3 years with no prior notice. Wanted a quote to plan for an RV purchase but Chris would NOT give any price as no spaces available, wouldn't even give a ballpark price for planning purpose. Why, because everyone pays a different price for the same spot I assume, based upon how long they've been raising their rates on the renter. Chris said they change their pricing every day! Chris was not helpful. I think their business model is get you in then continue to raise rates until you can't stand it anymore. I'm moving the boat as soon as I can! read more

I booked online for the best deal in town after getting 3 other quotes from local competitors. I called and confirmed the office hours with Freda (store manager). Once I arrived, Freda and one of her associates in the office greeted me and my fiancé with a warm smile. She showed us our reserved unit, explained the basic policies of use, and got us signed up in no time. She was great. The facility is very clean and appears to be very secure. Given the location, rate, and professionalism displayed by the staff, this seems to be the best place to store your personal belongings. They even have RV storage! read more

this company totally charged my account 2x after my initial payment and due to my critical health issues, being in and out of the hospital, i called them to cancel my storage unit sense i never used the space! they now have charged me 3 times with nothing in the unit and after talking to several people about cancellation over a month ago! today, i woke up only 3 days after a difficult back surgery, they charged me again $132.00 and caused my account to go into overdraft status and additional $35 fee! don't use this location! i need my refund as i'm disabled and not working! i need all of my money refunded now!!! read more

I rented a 5X10 unit for $79 a month, within 1 year they had raised the rent 2 times. It was at $93 a month when I called and spoke with the district manager. He claimed that this was normal and that the unit rate should be around $130 a month. He claimed it was normal for them to get customers in at a lower rate and then increase the rent until it reflects the market value. He could have cared less. I went down the street and found the same unit 5X10 for $69 a month and they said that it was not normal to have multiple increases a year and that the last increase was this year on the unit and it was $10. Obviously Extra Space is over charging for its units, only a matter of time before they will have to make some changes in management. read more
