Don't go here. 1. Every worker is rude and unhelpful. 2. The elevators never work, constantly break and are broken. The dolleys are also always broken and lost. I have not been able to use the elevator or a dolley the last 5/6 times I went back. Makes everything less efficient. Place is so run down. 3. The actual location is so disgusting. There are numerous spiders, bugs and rats. Spaces are in creepy buildings that are NOT temperature controlled. 4. They raise the price with no notice after a few months. I was a long term customer (no other storage place was open on the holiday I moved down) and they increased my rent 4 times within one year. Avoid at all costs - not worth it. read more

I have had many storage units over the years, the most recent ones at Public Storage facilities in New York and Northern Virginia. The contrast between this location and the others is stark. This facility is clean and well-maintained. They provide their customers with a bathroom! (So rare!) There is management on-site during business hours. And that manager is a pleasure to work with. You will enjoy interacting with Emad. He is helpful, courteous, and you can tell he is devoted to doing a good job. I already planned to write a good review about him before move-in day because my phone interactions with him were such a breath of fresh air after my most recent experience with surly storage staff. And after the small ways he went above and beyond the day we moved in, I didn't want to let another day pass without recommending this location to people in the area. Things like a smile during the process sound like they're not a big deal when you're hauling your belongings to a self-service storage place, but - you know what? - they ARE appreciated. For what it's worth, MEASURE FIRST, THEN SIGN THE CONTRACT. i was lured but he online only rate and reserved my spot and presumed that it was as advertised 5'x10'. I knew the size of the items I was placing inside and knew it would be sufficient so "signed" the online contract. Upon move in the unit was more like 4'8" x 9'4" and although my items fit it was with maybe only 0.5" to spare and a lot more nudging to fit right. So when they say "exact size can't be guaranteed" take them at their word because you shouldn't when they quote the normal dimensions. If you need the exact dimensions skip the online price or inspect the unit first then stand there and sign up online with your phone. When I raised this issue with the office I was simply told they are only approximate sizes. Offered no adjustment in price, no switch to another accurately sized unit. Anyway, buyer beware. read more

Go somewhere else. I was just notified of the third rate hike since I moved into the unit in January, 2020. The new rate hike is 52% higher than the initial rate, which was not a special rate. Unless they agree to revert to a lower rate, I plan to move out of there as soon as I can find someone with a truck who can help me at a reasonable price. read more

I need a storage space but I'm not sure of the size I wanted to go with and the photos and description online just aren't as helpful as seeing them in person. Especially when you're a visual person. So I went all the way in to compare 2-3 options so I can make the best decision for me. I didn't want to be stuck with a space too small or end up paying too much for a space too big. I asked the man sitting at the front desk if he could show me the different sizes and all he says is "that would take like 45 minutes because there are so many" so I tell him that no, I have an idea of the size so I only want to compare 2, maybe 3 of the sizes. He pulls up a paper and says "depending on where they are located that could still take a lot of time" .....he was just a lazy useless employee that didn't want to do anything but sit in his chair and not help. What is the point of you being there if you're just going to give me excuse after excuse?? Good thing there a million other storage locations that are not public storage. SEE YA. read more

Such a sham they have going on here. First they force you to buy their insurance (forcing you to insure your own property...what kind of security are they implying?). They never mention that your own insurance company already covers rental units, and that you DON'T need to pay their premium ($10/month). They do not pro-rate your final rent, but only if you are on AUTOPAY. What sense does that make? I setup autopay resulting in them getting their money on time, gauranteed, and they repay me by taking a full month's rent when I only used it for 2 out of 30 days. But guess what? I still can't use the unit for the next 28 days because my contract is cancelled...I have no idea what sense that makes. Don't do business with these guys, unless you like dropping trou and taking it. read more

Signing up for a storage unit was easy to do online. Gave me the perfect idea of what size I needed and everything fit perfectly. All the info I needed was texted to me. Downloaded the app which makes everything easy to take care of. Moved a roomful of items in today. Emad, the site manager, met us and showed us everything we needed to know - he was professional, super helpful, and very friendly. After a tough day of loading the moving van he made us feel at ease when we arrived. Facility was clean and the temperature controlled area was an appropriate temperature. read more

Ridiculous prices for incredibly small spaces, rent increased $50 for a 5x10. My first unit ended up having a ceiling leak and was never notified it even happened until I personally went in to the unit to do a drop off. I had water damage/mold over a good portion of everything, not to mention the floor was soaked with dirty black water. I ended up having to clean and replace all of my tubs that were damaged. The facility is dirty and needs to be updated and repaired. Was only chosen because it was so convenient to my home. Would definitely not recommend, save the money and go somewhere else! read more

When I needed to reserve a new unit, the staff was very helpful and professional, and offered a creative solution to a logistical issue I was experiencing. This is a terrible storage. I've used other storage services in the past that are in the same area but this is the worst place to put your staff. The customer service is so dead, they are so disrespectful. I made a payment online and got a conformation email and receipt. After 10 days the send me an email to make the payment including the late fee even though I didn't get any email about the declination of my debit card. And also they make you pay for one more month even though you don't use it. Trust me, If you use this storage you will regret. read more

This is a terrible facility. I've used other storage services in the past that are in the same area (some accross the street) and this is the worst facility in comparison. The staff is helpful and friendly but the facility itself is so badly planned and equipped: If you get an upper level storage, there's only one elevator for the entire floor (you need a couple of minutes from one end to the other) and the elevator is painfully slow. There's one trolley for the entire building, so you really can't speed up your move and if others are using it, you're out of luck. The trolley itself is flimsy and strays sideways Ever few feet, you have to stop and realign it. To make everything worse, there are STAIRS in the middle of the floor, so the useless trolley is rendered even more useless, because you have to stop at the stairs, unload it get it over the stairs and load it again. And the price they charge is comparable (even more expensive) to any of the other facilities in the area. I would recommend against this place. read more

I reserved online. I was called about 9 times to "confirm a time". None of these calls consisted of information regarding bringing a lock or "mandatory insurance". When I came in, I was told I had to have a lock or purchase their $20 lock, even though I was not moving anything in that day. I declined and made a reservation for the next day because I had a lock at home. Rate went up $4/month for the next day. SAME UNIT. Next day I came, cars loaded, lock in hand and was told I had to have insurance. I was confused because no one mentioned this in the calls or the previous visit. Insurance is $11 extra/month. I received an email that said my first reservation was "restored" and included the initial price per month. Steve, the employee I worked with, said he would not honor that as it was just a cancellation e-mail. When I asked why in any of the calls no one mentioned these details, he said "it's in the fine print". I literally received a reservation confirmation e-mail that said "rates may vary". It said NOTHING about insurance, or a lock. Both are understandable, however the lack of information before deciding to move in is what upsets me. Then to be told to "read the fine print" of a contract I hadn't even had yet?.... I tried contacting customer service many times and answering the survey with no resolution. When I called the store back another day, that store manager told me if I had renters/home owners insurance I would not have to purchase insurance. Why didn't Steve say this when I moved in? He said insurance was mandatory! He implied I had to purchase theirs and gave me a list of what they offered! I was nickel-and-dimed the whole process. As soon as I can, I'll be moving my stuff. The doors are jammed shut near my unit so I used a door further away. There is an elevator for access to different floors for your items but there are 2-3 stairs to go down to get back to my area. Not very convenient when moving with a dolly or even heavy items. Not as convenient as the internet makes it seem. I would avoid this location. There are many others around. They are a few dollars more, but are very upfront about the fees. read more

People there are way too rude, they have no manners whatsoever and can't stop using profanity . They try to force you to buy stuff you don't need like their company lock and boxes and packing material. They also claim that you have to buy their insurance. Their phones are busy 24/7 or they just don't pick up. There prices are higher than then website and then other PS locations. I rented with PS in Fullerton which is a thousand times more professional and cheaper . This location is definitely a NO NO unless u have to be in fairfax. read more

Kind of expensive for the unit sizes, but it's close, so I moved in. Signed up for autopay, but it mysteriously keeps not going through, even the site shows all the info is there, then they keep charging me late fees. The price went up after 6 months, and recently the gate keypad isn't working right so it takes multiple attempts to get it open. This weekend it took 20 minutes to get in with only three cars in line, and the people in the office just sat there watching. I'm going somewhere else. read more

I came here to rent a unit under the advertised $1 promotion upon arriving the manager Steve told me that I have "two active units" (despite the fact that I am currently not renting a unit at public storage) and that I was not eligible for the promotion. When I asked for a customer service number he replied "it's on the website I don't have time for you bro." Go elsewhere. My experience was so awful, I video taped it. The clerk intentionally ignored me, while I waited. We rented a unit, but found that we didn't need it. I had no problem paying the initial fees, but needed to cancel thereafter. After many calls, and paying an additional fees, our issue remains unresolved. I've never taken the time to write a review, but this place deserves to be reviewed by upper management. Rude staff, inefficient procedures. Not worth the aggravation. I booked online for a really amazing price. I got a phone call during the week from Will confirming that I was coming in for my reservation date. That was helpful because I can be forgetful. Then when I arrived I was able to find parking immediately. Easy entrance and exit, which I liked. My unit is upstairs. Will showed me my space and recommended to me different types of storage boxes and locks based on my needs, which i appreciated. We went back to the office and he explained why the pricing was at the place it was, and went thru my agreement step by step. Chaela was also sweet answering the financial questions of customers while I was there. Both of them were attentive and explained everything very easily. My moving experience went well. I have rented from another Public Storage for awhile and needed to downgrade my unit and wanted it to be closer to where I live. This place was the cheapest I found and had pretty good reviews. Renting the unit was easy and Angie was very helpful and knowledgeable about the place. However, I really wish they didn't make you buy insurance and a lock you will not be able to use anywhere else. I was also excited because I thought they provided dollies in each building only to find out this is not the case. Do not rent a storage space here. This is my first review and am writing it so hopefully no one else has to deal with the unprofessional staff. There are other honest and more professional storage facilities in and around Fairfax. I found one. The staff tell out right lies or a company of this size has no consistent policies. Before you move in you are told you can move out by the sixth of the month and the rent will be pro-rated. That is the policy until you try to move out. Then your told; the policy has changed- it was just a courtesy, not written into the contract- you were sent a letter. No letter was sent. I was so annoyed I thought about standing outside with a sign warning people not to rent here but my stuff was still there. I just didn't trust something wouldn't happen. Also, I'm lazy. So ... I wait the month. Paying the additional rent. And guess what. You can move out after 31st, until the 6th with the rent prorated. When I asked to speak with the district manager the facility staff said she was on vacation. Guess what District Manager Sara Shirzi's was not on vacation. But she can still give the same ridiculous lies/excuses. Somehow the policy had conveniently changed again. Within weeks of our previous conversation. Choose a different storage facility. I found a better place. Any place would be better then this one. read more

Beware! They will try to close in the deal and push you in even before you realize. They are a scam. They showed me a lock with public storage sticker and told me that is the only lock I can use it. Since I am renting a storage unit for the first time, I thought we have to use their locks only but later they told me they sold me that lock and I have already paid for it. This guy keep calling you and bothering you when it is someone else's fault (someone dropped something outside the storage units and they call everyone and starts shouting at them). They should have checked and investigated appropriately before blaming on everyone. You DO NOT get peace for sure. Find some other storage where the service is better. read more

I have been renting a top floor unit for almost a year and the facility is centrally located but a little older than some of the newer facilities. I have a non climate control unit and bought it on special through their website. The price went up about $20/$25 after the 6 month special ran out. The only gripe that I have about the unit is that it is overpriced but I need the freakin spot. Also, please note that they will try to sell you a $20 pad lock from the company and you have to purchse insurance from them. Other than that, I would recommend it. read more
