Honestly, I had high hopes for this company. They were quick to respond and quick to schedule an in person visit. But after the initial fight against our insurance company, and of course no luck with the insurance company budging for assistance. ProWest truly dropped the ball. Cons: -Company said they would follow up to do the minor repair the insurance company was seeking. -Company never followed up and we had to call them at least once a week for an update. -Company said an expected time frame as to when they think they can do the repair. But no response via phone or text. Honestly I felt like we got ghosted. -Called the main line with the company to complain about no communication with our contractor and honestly felt no remorse. No apologize and didn't have a solution to elevate our complaint. **I truly felt that since the insurance company did not grant us a new roof, ProWest felt that our project was just chump change and didn't think it was worth following up or making it a priority. And with that result, we have more issues with our roof no thanks to them. The only positive I will say is that they were very thorough with the initial visit, taking photos, chalking out the areas that needed repair and really going to battle for us with the insurance company. Would have liked to have written a better review, but maybe ProWest needs to take a better look at how you communicate with your customers and actually follow up with them and schedule repairs. This ProWest Roofing company is not only your typical run of the mill "storm chaser" but they are also incredibly pushy. After ignoring our NO SOLICITING signs and still knocking on our door (un-masked during pandemic) no less than SIX times in less than 3 weeks and being told in no uncertain terms that we are "not interested" and literally had to be told (repeatedly) to LEAVE our property the first and fourth time, I checked with all of my neighbors and all of them have the same complaint. In fact, one of my neighbors happens to be an insurance adjuster and warned me about their track record within the insurance companies. Best experience I've had with a contractor in recent memory. Historically, I hate having to find to a good person to do work on my home, either worried about them making a mess, giving me an initial quote and the final quote being higher, etc. I had a great experience, the owner spent time explaining the process to me, ensured the job got done quickly and it turned out looking beautiful with minimal stress to me. My wife and I were on vacation in July 2018 during a good amount of the month. If you're a fellow Arizonan, you know this is peak "Monsoon Season". We had a friend check on our home toward the end of the month only to find some rather large leaks in our master bedroom, a guest bedroom, and living room. I immediately remembered talking to a neighbor in our community who said he worked for ProWest Roofing. I called Jeff Guthrie and explained the issue. Within an hour, he was at our home (without us being out of town) and put tarps on the roof to prevent further damage. Once we got back in town, I sent Jeff a message so that we could meet. He met me on my lunch break and had showed up early to get measurements to provide an accurate quote. He knew I had a short amount of time available and was able to chat and provide info, along with me still being able to eat lunch. After Jeff reviewed our roof and internals, he said that the there were new City of Phoenix codes in place that would prevent him from replacing the roof without replacing the wood underneath the shingles. We discussed the issues at hand, and with Jeff's assistance, he helped me file my claim with my insurance as the 2018 Monsoon Season had caused extensive amounts of wind damage. He explained and showed evidence of the shingles being broken off, issues where the decking failed, and areas where mold had begun forming. Fast forward 3 months - My new roof is beautiful and safe, my insurance company has covered my roof (with Jeff's assistance), and my wife and I are extremely happy! We worked with ProWest Roofing after a major wind/hail storm damaged our roof in early 2021. It's obviously a big decision when it comes to hiring roofing companies...not like can just return the product if you're not happy (not to mention a lot of interaction with the people involved!) Fast forward to now: we have a roof that is PERFECT (and believe me they ran across a few hidden gotchas with our project). Their crew was amazing; to use the cliche...a well oiled machine. I was shocked at how quickly they had the old roof removed, addressed the surprises, had a plan, and had a new roof in place. We dealt with Michael Ronn and Andrew Byrd, and they were knowledgeable, straight ahead and helped us navigate through the maze of dealing with our insurance company. The morning after the storm when I saw the extent of the damage, on the recommendation of my neighbor, I called Prowest. Best Decision. Ever. They came out first thing that day, inspected the roof, explained the extent of the damage and provided temporary repairs to keep the roof secure and watertight. They worked directly with the insurance company going so far as to speaking directly with the adjuster and providing updates. Once the replacement was approved, I received a date for materials delivery and repair. The day of the install they were there first thing and took great care of the property (covered my landscaping front and back with drop cloths) and when I returned home, it took my breath away. Prowest roofing @ 724 W. University Dr. in Mesa , Arizona charge me for a roof repair at the direction of their project manager Josh Kinser who since has quite the company as directed by office personnel Stephanie. The repair was made and the workers left several most of the material in the front yard for 12 days before the project manager returned for the balance of the payment. I then pointed out to the project manager the used materials off my roof that the workers used instead in repairing my roof. Josh indicated the workers ensured him the repair was done as directed but later recanted his statement. I returned the remaining materials with Josh to later discover after a heavy rain the leak in my home was not repaired from their efforts. when I reached out to Prowest to request assistance under their warranty. I got two different Prowest inspectors to come out to inform me the leak in the same location was not a warranty issue. Prowest made some sort of a repair that did not work so they submitted another quote to repair a number of different items on the roof with a no intentions of reimbursement for their failed attempt. My experience with this company has not been a good one. I started this process in May of 2021 after a guy named Dean came to our door and told us we had some wind damage and could get insurance to repair and replace our roof. Our roof did need a repair and there was a sag on the tresses I was wanting to get fixed since we bought the home. This was a win win. Over the next few months, Dean would show up unannounced (which really creeped out my wife) and ask for checks or a signature instead of making sure I was there or at least making sure it was communicated clearly. I blame myself for not being more involved, but these guys are supposed to be professionals and some of the best in the Phoenix area. When the work finally started after a couple different rescheduling times and miscommunication, they wanted to do the entire roof in one day. I know this might be common but it's 0400 to like 1900 in June and they decided to reschedule for a Saturday instead of what was originally agreed upon. I have kids, pets, etc.... it was amazingly loud and no one prepared us for any of this nor explained (again, my fault for not asking more questions). No one on the crew spoke any English, so there was no communicating while they were there and if there was a foreman, I never saw him. I think Dean was in charge, but he didn't come by that day at all. I decided to text him and ask about spots that weren't a painted (I was quoted and charged for painting), and they replaced part of the 2x6 on the perimeter but not all. Didn't paint those either, only replaced some of the plywood (no paint), but didn't communicate any of this. I took pics and sent and asked for an explanation. I had to scrape and paint the 2x6's that were plain dead/rotted as I was doing a re-fi at the same time and thought it was going to be done by the professional roofers that I hired. After a lengthy discussion with Dean, he agreed that "someone" should have had the conversation of replacing any of the dead/rotted areas as it was a full roof replace/fix/repair. If I'm going to get this done I want to get it done right so I don't have to mess with it for another 15-30 years. No one has been back to paint, to repair, replace. He told me that we needed to finish the original contract and then we could make up another one for the 2x6 trim around the outside of it. I was born in the day.... but not yesterday. If I give them the last check, I won't see them again.... I can promise you that. Since that talk, the only message I received was from Dean telling me that USAA sent me a check and to let him know when he could be by to get it. I was so pissed off...first of all, I didn't receive it yet. No one has come by to fix anything else and you have requested full payment as well as the signature of completion. The bullshit was too thick, I told him I only wanted to see his boss at this point. I finally got the check and I'm actually sending it to my mortgage company today to get their approval. No one from upper management has reached out to me like I requested and in fact at one point Dean complained that this might get him fired. At one point Dean even told me that he would come out and paint the chimney himself..... really man? You mean you'll do what you are supposed to do? The one pic below shows a crack in a part of the overhang that he said they didn't do either. This entire thing was just plain shady and I would not recommend this company to anyone. The entire experience has left a bad taste in my mouth. If you are going to do a job, you do it right. If you don't do it right the first time, you have time to do it again. I had gotten a couple inspections from 3 Contractors. I decided to go with ProWest Roofing. My first impression of Doni was awesome! He was very professional, knowledgeable, kind and answered all the questions I had for him. Both Doni & Doug were super helpful. Doni assisted us with calling the Insurance Co to file claim and he proceed to help follow up until we were given the go ahead. We were always kept in the loop on how things were going to be done. While we waited on approval we had another Wind/Rain Storm and they even came to put a tarp up prior to the work being done. The work Crew- (Poncho Crew) were such hard workers. They started early morning and continued to work throughout the day until dark. The roof was completed in 2 Days! Wow!! It's so beautiful. Just couldn't rate them higher, under the circumstances. Prowest was the 2nd of 3 roofing companies we contacted to give us an estimate on repairing our garage roof, which had been torn off, July 17th, in a severe storm. There were no fewer than 3 times the Prowest estimator pressured us to sign a contract - WITHOUT a written estimate (??!). The 1st company came out, explained what they saw was needed and gave us a written estimate. Prowest was the 2nd company. The last company to come out, explained what they saw was needed and gave us a written estimate. The insurance adjustor finally came out Aug 6th. When we got the insurance estimate, we forwarded it to all the roofing companies we saw. Prowest's estimator called and, AGAIN, tried to get us to sign a contract - WITHOUT A WRITTEN ESTIMATE! That's when we told him that we DID get written estimates from the other companies and we'd be happy to hire Prowest, but we needed a written estimate. The Prowest estimator stated, "Well, our estimate is going to be higher." And he went on to explain why. The call ended with me texting the estimator my email address, so he could submit HIS estimate. THAT Prowest estimate NEVER came. By this point, we were feeling VERY uncomfortable about Prowest. Th is company has paid 6 house calls on me since September. They have repeatedly been told I had the roof inspected with in the last year. I do not need a new roof for another three years. I certainly will not use them A. Becuase they will not go away. B. Becuase they have said numerous time they will get my insurance to pay for a new roof. I am not scamming my homeowners insurance to get new roof. I know when I bought the house the condition and when it would need to be replaced. Horrible customer service from the COO, no English speaking supervisor on the job site, and the workers have zero respect for your property. They didn't clean up very well afterwards, left their lunches laying in the front yard all day long so their trash blew everywhere, they use your air conditioner to lay things on, and they drop stuff on expensive non movable property without tarping,...need I go on? Don't ask for fascia to be replaced, you wont get what you want/need. No prior plans given to you to make sure everything that is needed or wanted to be replaced will actually get replaced. You don't see final plans till day of install and then its too late! They are getting 1 star only because the roof looks great now that its finished. read more

I called in to get info on a warranty on the work I am getting from this company. The woman on the phone was incredibly difficult to work with. Couldn't give me any answers. I provided her with all info the roofer gave me. She still had a hard time helping me. I asked her again could you provide me with some type of write guarantee (of the work your company provides). However, I had to spend a couple hours on the weekend cleaning up the hundreds of little scraps of shingle & foam around the perimeter of the house. There was also masking tape in almost ever tree on my property. One even had a large sticky rag in it. I also detest that they required that I write a review in order to receive the maximum installation warranty (which is why I'm writing this). read more
