Loved Provision. This restaurant is a must do if you are in the Iron Works or Keystone at the Crossing area. They have a great deck with heaters so if you are trying to dine outside, they have a good option. The food, service and ambiance are great for a date night, or ladies night out. Honestly phenomenal! Went to a wedding rehearsal dinner here earlier this week. It was for a party of 25 and I honestly could have gotten the same service if it was just a party of 1. In the midst of Covid service was still spectacular. My water and wine was constantly filled along with everyone else's. There was no waiting in between courses. Once salad was finished our entrees were right there, as well as dessert after dinner. All the food was fabulous. I had the filet, cumin honey roasted vegetables, grow salad, loaded tater tottler, and of course finished it off with sugar cream pie and Irish coffee ice cream. However, I had a mishap with my wedge salad - the bees wanted to fight me for it and I had no choice but to surrender. Fortunately, the Manager kindly replaced my salad so I could enjoy it at home. Amazing food! I love the ambiance, even with the Covid restrictions. It's a beautiful and well done building, and the restaurant reflects that. We made a reservation and were seated promptly upon arrival. We sat in the bar area at a little two person table next to the windows on a cold, rainy night and it was a perfect spot. Very intimate. I would definitely recommend Provision for a high-end date night. Speaking of high-end, it's not cheap, but not terrible. We were celebrating an anniversary so we probably went for it a little bit. Started with a cocktail. Rye Tonight and Snow Blossom, both good and priced about what it would normally be at a restaurant like this. The appetizer course we had the bread and the mushroom tart. The waitress recommended the mushroom tart and it was phenomenal! A perfect appetizer. The bread basket was good and worth the purchase. We split the Halibut and the short rib. Both were very good. I would get the short rib every time and probably something different from the Halibut. It was good, but some of the other stuff that we saw come out looked a little bit more interesting. My husband and I took our chances as 'walk ins' and were able to arrive just early enough to avoid the rush and all of the reservations for the evening. We are SO glad we did! Our experience at Provision was amazing. First, I started off with a delicious cocktail and my husband with an old fashioned. We were both impressed. Delicious. The wedge salad was delicious and my husband had the crab toast. He was so impressed, he shared a bite of it with me. Next came the entrees. My husband and I both chose the specials. Holy cow this place is phenomenal. Which is pretty much what I've come to expect from the Cunningham Group. They are killing it around Indianapolis these days. I'm thrilled that they have opened up a high end restaurant on the north side so we aren't always having to rely on downtown restaurants for a really good, interesting meal. The king crab toast is a MUST. It's one of the best things I've ever put in my mouth. Ever. The scallops were cooked perfectly. And the burre blanc sauce just gave the dish that little cherry on the top. My husband had the veal chops and it was delicious. We got the sugar cream pie for dessert and it certainly matched the rest of our evening. Well done, Provision. We usually go to Vida for special occasions, but we wanted to try something new so we booked a reservation at Provision. The beet salad was beautiful and absolutely delicious. I loved the spicy watermelon cubes. My mom, sister and I were all blown away by our entrees. They were all cooked to perfection. My sister had the chicken, I had filet, and my mom had the halibut. I'm so glad I got to taste all of those dishes. The seasonal vegetables were divine. The only thing that didn't blow us away was the gnocchi. The texture and flavor of the gnocchi is a little flat. Our group of four really enjoyed our dinner at this upscale north side addition to the Cunningham Dining Group. They have multi-course options for a fixed price, but if you are watching $, you can order individual courses or share with a friend. But make no mistake, this is a high quality dining experience and charges accordingly. We went a couple weeks after the grand opening. They have valet parking, but there is also a common lot shared with the new Ironworks Hotel and what will be other businesses as they open on the first floor of the complex. (Rize, a breakfast/lunch restaurant will open in Oct 2017). Provision is located on the second floor. They have a separate entrance via their own stairwell, but we chose to enter via the hotel and use the elevator directly north of its entrance. The hotel is very industrial and the restaurant has a great transitional look, with lots of wood detail, large sized tables, and a mix of browns, grays, and blacks. An elevated patio is nearly complete and will provide outdoor seating. An arched Chef's Table will give a close up view of the kitchen and offer a nine course dining menu ($125/ea) with a wine pairing available ($50). On our night, the table was used for seating for walk-up diners. The food: Excellent! Chef Layton Roberts brings the magic touch from Vida with him to this site. Starting with a complementary amuse bouche (ours was a smoked salmon with celery on a crisp) through "shares", salads, entrees, and desserts, everything we ordered was excellent. They have different sizes on many of the "farm" options. The staff is also willing to bring extra plates if you wish to share different courses. I am fairly sure that the menu will change frequently using seasonal and special ingredients as they are found/available. The service: There is so much staff that you don't have to wait for anything. New silverware is brought out for each course. Water (cool, but no ice) is continually topped off. When your food is brought out, a different staff person carries each plate instead of loading a giant platter and balancing it. Entire orders are encouraged at the beginning of your dining with the exception of dessert which you may or may not have room for with so many courses available. Most of the evening was very enjoyable. As we were finishing our meal, we noticed that the noise level started to spike as the restaurant filled. Very similar to Mesh in that sense. So, be aware that if you like conversation with your meal, go early. First time, didn't make reservations. It was a busy night so had drinks at the overly crowded bar. Last night, we were more wise to put in reservations for dinner. As soon as we arrived, was quickly greeted by the host who promptly seated us. Our waitress was a little robotic. She asked us questions but almost not care to listen to our responses. Wasn't very personable but could possibly be from the busy night. We ordered the oysters and king crab toast for appetizers. I had a glass of pinot grigio that was recommended but tasted like house wine. The oysters came out puny and were a bit overcooked. I enjoyed the king crab toast which had a nice buttery chewy texture with generous portions of king crab chunks. Ordered the lamb rack which we had split. The meat was medium rare which was nice but didn't enjoy how it was seasoned and sauced. It resembled very closely to berry jam which I felt masked the natural great taste of lamb meat. First of all - We love it when restaurants offer tasting menus with wine pairings. We love food and we love wine but we aren't very good at pairing our dinner with our drinks - we usually just choose based on the bottle, so it's nice to have someone specifically choosing for us. My husband and I came here for our Valentine's Day dinner. We started off with cocktails at the bar before our 8AM reservation. Service was great at the bar - we were seated at a ledge by the window and the bartender came around to take our drink order. I'm not used to that! I've been seated in similar locations at other restaurants where I waited for a long time for service and ended up having to go up to the bar myself. Nice touch. Each course had something different to offer and the flavor profiles were all spectacular. I loved the pomegranate seeds served with the Brussels sprouts. The lamb was cooked perfectly. The wagyu melted like butter. I am partial to seafood - the king crab toast blew me away. The dessert portion (chocolate tart with ice cream) was strangely off though - larger than the other courses by far and a heavy end to the meal (despite being SO tasty and delicious)! I think I would have preferred to share one between the two of us, or have chosen 2 smaller options. When we told our server we were new to the area, he (Jeff) gave us plenty of awesome local recommendations that we will check out in the future! Wow wow wow so much yum in last nights dinner!! We got the shrimp as an appetizer, it was so delicious we didn't even use the sauce. I got a beautify cooked filet and I found myself cutting it into tiny pieces so it could last longer. We ended with a beautiful chocolate dessert with lemon ice cream. I was fortunate to be able to attend the soft opening of Provision and the Ironworks Hotel. This restaurant is another amazing establishment courtesy of the Cunningham Group. I have already booked a reservation next week for my birthday! Firstly, the decor is bright and inviting in this restaurant. It has a cozy and uplifting feel. The outdoor seating balcony is beautiful. When you walk in, there's a beautiful wall of wine. The kitchen is an open concept, which I love. It is a lovely place! We were given a pre-fixe 3 course meal. I started with the Caesar salad. It was light and refreshing and topped with anchovies. The flavor was great! Others in my party truly enjoyed the bread basket and oysters. For my entree, I chose the veal chop. It was cooked to perfection and was topped with roasted tomatoes and fresh mushrooms. The portion size is quite large, so I was able to take the rest home. Most others in my party chose the filet entree, which they said was also delicious. For the third course, we were able to try a variety of desserts. There was a sugar cream pie, coconut pie and then a chocolate dessert (with a potato chip crust!). All of the desserts were amazing! Not only was the food top notch at Provision, but the cocktails and wine selection were also great. The coffee cocktail is a must!! Overall, I LOVE Provision. I am a big fan of Vida and Stone Creek, so I knew the Cunningham Group would provide another wonderful restaurant. We were excited to try Provision based on all of the reviews, especially since we are staying at the Ironworks hotel. Unfortunately the only thing that was great was the reviews. We started with the Lobster toast, basically you're paying $38 for what more like Texas Toast, because that is all you could taste, possible menu name change: Texas Toast with a hint of lobster. We both had filets for our main course and ordered them cooked the same, one was over cooked and one was undercooked and flavorless once you took off the topping that was not listed that it would be covered in, and no the sides did not get any better. Overall this is the first restaurant that we have eaten at where not a single course was worth coming back for. The lack of seasoning and flavor was just simply not there. For the ones who posted the high reviews I am curious what you ate, we simply did not have that especially for $200+ tab. Now we didn't have drinks. Maybe we should have.... read more

Let's start with the fact that my group leader had to change the reservation and the staff didn't think they would be able to accommodate our larger number. We had decided that we would wait until everyone arrived and just go across the street BUT then the Provision superheroes to the rescue. They put our group in one of the Ironworks meeting rooms...beautiful meeting rooms. Matt was our server and he was FABULOUS. Emily was assisting (or mentoring him; I'm not sure). A room full of joyful ladies is more than a handful and I was adamant that he needed to bring me bread quickly...pretzel roll to die for. The ladies ordered two bottles of red wine and said it was delightful. Everyone said the food was fantastic; our table ordered the chicken, salmon, tortellini, burger, and potato entrees. From the graze menu, the grow salad, the grain salad, and the soup (the potatoes are puréed) were ordered. From the share menu, we got bread, king crab toast, and lobster dumplings. The potato bacon terrine was the tasty but spicy side we ordered. The service here is amazing. The food is wonderful. As one of the other Yelpers stated, the king crab toast isn't worth $36; it's good but it should really be the same price as the lobster dumplings. Entrees fit any mood from salads and farro bowls to burger and sandwich and steak. I really would have ventured for any of the dishes but got steak sandwich with side of brussels ($5 upcharge). Side was huge and sandwich had fresh bread with weird sunflower seeds that definitely worked. Steak medium rare and would been good on its own. Besides terrific food and very inviting menu, the place is totalyy for me. Indoor and outdoor seating, easy parking, 5 big screen TVs, and bar seating easy to walk up with no reservation. As good as it gets... in Indianapolis. Provision might not be a spot you'd go to normally due to its location, but you should absolutely make the time. The food = fantastic. The ambience = fantastic. The service = very good. We tried a bit of everything on the menu. For appetizers, the charred shrimp was the winner. Incredible flavor between the charring and the sauces. The king crab toast was also very delicious... although the toast could have had a better crunch. The most disappointing starter was the Beef Wellington. First off, it was deconstructed (which was not noted on the menu). Flavor wise it was solid, but texturally it left something to be desired. For main courses, our table tried all 4 seafood dishes (scallops, seabass, snapper and salmon). The scallops were top notch... perfect sear and accompanied by delicious gnocchi. The salmon was incredibly unique, in a good way. The sesame seed crust paired perfectly with the curry-based sauce. The seabass was cooked very well and was paired with an Udon noodle. From my perspective, the seabass was a little fishy and the Udon could have been cooked a bit longer. Finally, the snapper which I only had one bite of, was done well. The bite I had was a bit sweet for my taste, but others at the table really enjoyed it. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by Provision. Vida was and still may be my favorite but Provision is a strong contender and much closer to where I live. They have an amazing second story patio and the vibe of the restaurant is very cool. I personally recommend the Farmers Tasting Platter that features a wooden plank with 3 entrees that are great to share with 2 (for us). The Chef's Tasting Menu is also good and you can sit in the chef's area and get course by course briefings and discussions with the chef. I was greeted quickly and immediately taken to my table. We had a great server that explained the menu in great detail. I had a Margarita with my dinner that was very good. You even get to pick your own Tequila for your Margarita. For dinner I settled on the Wedge, The Chicken and Apple Streusel. Now this Chicken was no ordinary chicken....they turned it into a chicken sausage and then fried it in the chicken skin...can you say DELICIOUS! Two wait staff were provided for our group and they were both very tentative to everyone's needs. Nice selection of wine and beers, both on draft and bottled.
