Ambiance: There was both indoor and outdoor seating with tables, chairs, and benches. The outdoor area had fans, so it wasn't too hot, which was a nice touch. It was also really cool to see all the beer being brewed right there. They had a wide variety of options, which made choosing fun. Service: The service was great! We told the guy at the counter it was our first time, and he asked us what type of beer we usually like. He even let us try a sample before we made our choice, which was super helpful. Border Town: We ended up choosing this Mexican lager since we usually enjoy Dos Equis. I'd say it tasted even smoother than Dos! I honestly really enjoyed it, and the price was around $8 for a pint, which felt fair for the quality.

Don't think I've ever had a bad beer here. Service is walk up, but always a friendly, helpful bartender at the ready. There is normally a food truck on site. You can order food at the bar and they deliver to your table. Lots of space inside and out to meet, visit, enjoy the weather, people watch or just hang out.

The hostess was genuinely friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant has a nostalgic type atmosphere. It was also extremely busy with a very large party, so I understand the staff was under pressure. Even so, service was quite slow from the time we were seated until we received our drinks and food. The biggest disappointment was the food. Our appetizer, Bread & Garlic Oil was chewy, and baked perfectly, but the "garlic oil" had almost no garlic flavor and didn't resemble olive oil at all. I'm betting it was vegetable oil or canola oil, which should be a sin in a pizza place! When I mentioned it, the solution was simply adding a clove of garlic to the bowl, which didn't improve it. How hard would it be to use REAL olive oil and infuse it with fresh roasted garlic! We also ordered a specialty pizza that was supposed to have roasted garlic, but it arrived without it. The pizza was remade after we pointed it out, and the second one was better, but it still seemed to be drizzled with the same flavorless oil. The crust also lacked the structure I'd expect from a good pizza, with every slice folding over when picked up. I can see why people enjoy the atmosphere, and perhaps a classic pepperoni pizza would be a better choice. The staff did make an effort to correct the mistakes, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, based on our experience, the food simply didn't live up to the reviews, and with so many great pizza places around, I don't see myself returning.

Also worth noting are the super fluffy homemade flour tortillas that all of the tacos come on and the delicious homemade salsas! I haven't had any of the other dishes they offer, but I'm sure they're just as good! Definitely a place worth going to.

my smoking hot women and I frequent this spot at least once a month. Probably more.. She can't eat gluten, Proudest Monkey always provides as a great place for food and drinks that we can both enjoy. Tacos are always on point. My favorite is the pulled hammy. She digs on the license to krill on a corn tortilla. Burgers are pretty tits, and my hippie vegan friends enjoy the portabello taco. We always get the fried plantains. Be sure to order them when you come here. They have a decent bar. All the tenders are friendly, and know to make most drinks and well. Although I only sip whiskey, my lady likes to order the dessert style drinks with ice cream and what not. She really digs on them so I assume they are good. no draft beer, but have a good bottled selection. I like this locally owned spot. I would highly recommend it for anyone lunch or dinner. It has a nice vibe, and atmosphere; service is always excellent every time we go. It is a little cozy and can sometimes be packed and loud. Its cool for a casual date or just hanging with some buddies. If it is busy be patient, and polite and you should make out with a pretty good experience. read more

While passing through College Station, my family and I stumbled upon Proudest Monkey, and we're so glad we did! Proudest Monkey is a charming hole-in-the-wall spot that's clearly popular with the college crowd, but it's also welcoming and accessible for families. Despite its narrow, elongated layout, the place is brimming with personality and character. It's the kind of place that feels like a local gem. The real star here is the food. This is a great find for food and beverage. With a selection of uniquely crafted burgers like the El Jefe and tacos like the license to Krill as well as a great selection of local beers like the New Republic "Dammit Jim" makes this place a great location for lunch or to unwind on a Friday afternoon.
