[[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance was great.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It wasn't too busy on a weekday and you seat yourself.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was kind and efficient. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Each table has its own TV playing sports, which I loved.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The noise level was low and there's a mix of bar, booth, and table seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The burger was really good. I liked that you can customize it, and they also have pre-made options. The bun had a slight sweetness that I enjoyed. The fries were hot, crispy, and perfectly salted. They came in a big bowl and the dipping sauce was super addicting. The drink menu is fun with lots of creative options including ice cream cocktails. We had beer and the Dos Equis is served in a bottle.

Loved how cozy the environment was at Proudest Monkey! The service staff were very friendly and quick to get our orders despite us asking them to wait for our complete party to arrive. I ordered the el Jefe and it was really good for a rainy day. I loved how the runny egg fused with the flavors of the meat! My friend ordered the porta blue with a patty substitute and it looked amazing, will order next time! Price is also very decent for the burger that you get.

Smash burger was ok. Basically similar to a Freddie's burger. Taco was ok. Fries were good and the root beer on tap with cane sugar was really good. Not sure it was worth the price for me to come back.

My boyfriend and I went to eat here for dinner and a drink for date night. The server was very nice! The drink I got was not good- couldn't finish it. Came to the BCS area for a baseball game with my family and we had heard about Proudest Monkey, so we stopped by for some burgers. It was open seating and they were able to accommodate our needs as we had kids. Ordered some kids plain cheese burgers and lemonade for the kids. I ordered the yardbird, it didn't disappoint. For BCS, this is about as good as it gets so take this review with that bit of context. Note that it's seat yourself (it says so on the doors) so as soon as you arrive, find yourself a table! We've had a few different burgers here - from El Jefe to the Portobello mushroom. Each have decent flavors (if a little lackluster). The fries as extra so know you're basically just ordering a burger. The tacos are okay. The staff don't know beer so have your Untappd app ready to go if you're looking for an honest review or recommendation on a good draft or bottled beer. read more

So I went again with friends and had a much better time! The vibe at night must be the only time to go. The service was good. There was no seating available so we sat at the bar. I got the dreamsicle ice cream martini which was a perfectly sweet drink for the long hot summer night, did a fuzzy nipple shot which was yummy, and got the Parmesan fries and the chuc Norris burger which was juicy and delicious! The monkey sauce for the fries was amazing and next time I'll probably add it to my burger. Recently got eveRYthing to go. My waitress Chloe was awesome!!! Drinks were tooooo weak. Not worth it and definitely won't go back. Long Island, Red Bull vodka, mamacita marg, shot of tequila, shot of sawtooth. Everything was very watered down. Good hard earned money shouldn't be wasted on that. Especially on Cinco De Mayo . Drinks take so long to get to you as well. Should be illegal to be that watered down. I've never experienced that anywhere else. If someone can suggest me better bars with actual drinks then please dm. Thanks in advances. read more

The burgers were good, fun presentation, wrapped in paper on a tin plate. Both the regular fries and sweet potato fries were perfectly cooked and the atmosphere was fun, TV's in the booths. My college freshman said she'd come back with her friends which adds to the cool points. I kept hearing about this place for the tacos but we ordered one and no one at the table could eat it. We thought we ordered just a meat taco but it came in a sauce that was off setting to the mildness we were expecting. If it wasn't for the taco and the rainy day I would give 5 . I will definitely go back just because If I'm in Downtown Bryan hanging out with friends/family it's a cool local place with good service and good burgers. read more

Great small bar atmosphere.. some table service as well. Burgers were bomb.. the Monkey sauce is fire... and the Yuppie Style fries were amazing..everything was fresh and served fast ... I was so happy we drove the extra 10 or so minutes to what appeared to be a highly devoted old town atmosphere. It was full of people just a really nice experience. read more

Wow! Wow wow! The burgers and fries were AMAZING! All the burgers my group got were tasty. Prices are great . The jefe was so delicious and full of flavor. The yuppie fries and monkey sauce were so good. Definitely recommend trying this place. Also the servers were so kind. read more

Tacos are delicious. I ordered the ranch hand and the Pablo Pescado. Would definitely recommend. The burgers are a different story. While it did taste good, The burger is $10 for the smallest burger I've ever eaten. Also, If you're going to make a smash burger, make sure the bun is proportional to the meat. Felt like I just had a mouthful of bread. TVs are in each booth so it's a perfect place to sit and watch a game. Service is attentive and the food comes out very fast. read more

The yard bird burger is delicious and comes with a really good spicy mustard that is dip-able with your fries and burger. My hubby loved his firehouse burger, immediately said he will be back. Update 1/16: I took away two stars after my recent experience. The most critical point I need to make in this review is I saw a waiter grab food off of a costumers plate before serving it to a table and eat it (It was just fries but still)! I also witness wait staff use their bare hands to move food around touching folks take out food. Went here with my S.O. The place a was pretty full, however the waiter we met when walking in encouraged us to sit where ever we liked. Unfortunately there were three tables in the front 1/2 that were still cluttered so we had to sit in the hallway towards the bathrooms. I was a little disappointed because I noticed three waitstaff were hanging around talking rather than cleaning up the tables so we could sit in a more desirable location. We ordered the fire house burger and guac-a-doodle-doo burger they were good for the price point but not as good as Grubs burgers. In hindsight I am glad we sat in the back as I would have never known the unprofessional behavior that occurs back there. Original review: Wonderful bar/ restaurant to study at. The service was amazing, probably the best I've had in Bryan since moving here. The guacamole burger is fantastic! The alcoholic milkshake did not have enough ice cream in my opinion. The yuppy fries were pretty good, though a bit peppery , I'd recommend sticking to the plain Jane fries. read more

I haven't tried the food, as I am a pescatarian and haven't seen anything that interest me on the menu. Its German food I think.

All in all good drinks, generous portions, and hearty food in a relaxed setting. Exactly what you'd want from a local German spot, would come back if I'm in the area again.

The pizza was remade after we pointed it out, and the second one was better, but it still seemed to be drizzled with the same flavorless oil. The crust also lacked the structure I'd expect from a good pizza, with every slice folding over when picked up. I can see why people enjoy the atmosphere, and perhaps a classic pepperoni pizza would be a better choice. The staff did make an effort to correct the mistakes, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, based on our experience, the food simply didn't live up to the reviews, and with so many great pizza places around, I don't see myself returning.

The steak was cooked perfectly and was very tender. The greens were fresh and the gorgonzola crumbles were ample. Great dressing. Ask for a small side of their amazing gorgonzola cream sauce to dip your steak. If you are having wine, stick with the Library aged selections. They're more expensive but definitely worth it. Recommended.

my smoking hot women and I frequent this spot at least once a month. Probably more.. She can't eat gluten, Proudest Monkey always provides as a great place for food and drinks that we can both enjoy. Tacos are always on point. My favorite is the pulled hammy. She digs on the license to krill on a corn tortilla. Burgers are pretty tits, and my hippie vegan friends enjoy the portabello taco. We always get the fried plantains. Be sure to order them when you come here. They have a decent bar. All the tenders are friendly, and know to make most drinks and well. Although I only sip whiskey, my lady likes to order the dessert style drinks with ice cream and what not. She really digs on them so I assume they are good. no draft beer, but have a good bottled selection. I like this locally owned spot. I would highly recommend it for anyone lunch or dinner. It has a nice vibe, and atmosphere; service is always excellent every time we go. It is a little cozy and can sometimes be packed and loud. While passing through College Station, my family and I stumbled upon Proudest Monkey, and we're so glad we did! We were looking for something unique and different from the usual chain restaurants, and this place definitely delivered. Proudest Monkey is a charming hole-in-the-wall spot that's clearly popular with the college crowd, but it's also welcoming and accessible for families. Despite its narrow, elongated layout, the place is brimming with personality and character. It's the kind of place that feels like a local gem. The real star here is the food. This is a great find for food and beverage. With a selection of uniquely crafted burgers like the El Jefe and tacos like the license to Krill as well as a great selection of local beers like the New Republic "Dammit Jim" makes this place a great location for lunch or to unwind on a Friday afternoon.
