Great burgers cooked on the original 100-year-old flat top in Bryan, Texas. Oh and the fries and onion rings are crispy and delicious as well. Everything is made to order in a comfy bar and grill setting. read more

This place was recommended by a local businessman that Margie's has the best burgers in town. Since it was just down the street from where I was, it was a no brainer. If you are in a hurry, you may want to reconsider. It took a few mins to get a table but no big deal. Then it took several mins to get waited on. I didn't even look at a menu and ordered a chz burger and onion rings and tea. Didn't want to risk the waitress not coming back for a while. And she wasn't being lazy, they were just slammed busy. She did say "it's like this everyday " So you're wondering why the 5 stars. The food. Actually the burger. It was one of the best I've ever had. Reminds me those old side of the road diners that cooked everything on a big grill burger. A little greasy, lots of flavor. Just flat good. And as for timing, I do get here at 12:30. By 1:00, it had thinned out. read more

Food poisoning for both me and my girlfriend from burger a fries/onion rings. Have heard raving reviews online about here so decided to try it out. Food tastes great till we got in car. Hit us both at same time then we're sick for 4-5 days throwing up and couldn't keep any solids down. Don't recommend this place to anyone nor would I ever come back. read more

The burgers are solid. Toasted bun, greasy in a good way, and when I asked for extra onion, I got a whole slice - not chopped. Fries were crispy on the outside and perfect on the inside. Tea was on point. Margie's is just a down home burger joint, but definitely worth the trip to downtown Bryan for your burger fix! read more

Really enjoyed my visit here. The food was fresh and flavorful, especially the burger which was cooked perfectly. The staff were friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. Definitely a great local spot worth trying. read more

Amazing hamburgers. Karaoke on Fridays. Great service and a hell of a good management

I genuinely do not understand how this place has the reputation it does. The entire experience was frustrating from start to finish. The service was painfully slow, and it often felt like customers were being ignored rather than helped. The food was underwhelming and nowhere near worth the price. After waiting far longer than expected, receiving a meal that was mediocre at best made the experience even more disappointing. The restaurant seemed disorganized, and there was little sense of urgency or attention to detail. What should have been an enjoyable meal turned into a waste of time and money. There are plenty of other places nearby that offer better food, better service, and a much more enjoyable atmosphere. But if you want a greasy burger and terrible fries come to this place! read more

First time here, definitely a historical joint. Be prepared to wait, but that's part of the experience. It took about 20 minutes for them to take our order in 25 minutes to bring it to our table, but again, not an issue. I had the In-Between burger, which was pretty decent and good value, even though they've had to increase prices. I ordered the onion rings, but they ran out so we tried the fries, which were excellent. I also tried a couple of tater tots, but they were a tad over salted and maybe the oil temperature could've been increased because they retained a little too much cooking oil. After trying the tater tots and then going back to my burger, it seemed like the salt felt a little over the top between the seasoning and the patty, the egg and the bacon, makes sense so if you're not a fan of a salty meal then you might wanna try something else on the menu. They had country music playing at a reasonable volume (I hate when other restaurants have music annoyingly loud), and everyone else in the restaurant seemed to be enjoying their meals. I would definitely go again and recommend this place if you're in downtown Bryan, Texas. read more

Came to Bryan for work. I was looking for a good place to eat. I kept hearing everyone talk about Margie's. In fact, when I went into the local barbershop, the barber had one that looked delicious. I walked down the street after work and found Margie's. This place has been in business for 101 YEARS! The place smelled like heaven so the burgers had to have been good. We sat down and the polite staff came to serve us. We ordered a few burgers and one large fry for a family of four. The burgers rolled straight off the grill, piping hot and super fresh. I will tell you this, I have tried many burger places before as I travel for work. THIS BY FAR IS THE BEST BURGER I HAVE EVER HAD, PERIOD! I will be back and I will be taking one for the road tomorrow as I travel back home. God bless the town of Bryan. God bless Margie's, and God bless the staff! FIVE STARS read more

I'm not a local but I've been to Margie's multiple times and they have the best burger I've ever had in my 54 years. The Opersteny Burger is the way to go, don't let the smaller 2oz patty deter you, it is amazing. Double meat/double cheese! Lots of history, Like the 101 year old griddle they use to develop flavor. Check it out if you are in Bryan, TX or take a road trip, it's worth it! read more

Great burger and beer joint. Weekday lunch looks busy. But, seats need padding: my poor butt! Some of the older pictures on Yelp, this place has been here for ages. Great staff!!! Please bring the pasta salad Mom makes at home. And maybe a potato salad choice? read more

Not sure if it was just me or if I caught them on a bad day. Came in on a weekend for lunch. The place was HOT with a few fans blowing. Not sure if they have a working AC or not but I was sweating. Sat down and a server came to the table and didn't seem very interested or very customer service oriented. She seemed annoyed with us. We ordered two drinks, a beer and a canned margarita (I remember because when we asked about margaritas they said they only had cans and we noticed the frozen margarita machine behind the bar was off) and a different server came back with two beers... i tried to explain it wasn't what we ordered but we were just looked at blankly. He didn't seem to care and just shrugged. I thought it was interesting the original female server didn't serve us after taking our drink order and just stood behind the counter. Our new server, young man, was also lacking in his customer service skills. When he brought the food, I asked for ketchup and after no response, I decided to get up and go to the counter to get it myself rather than waiting another 5-10 minutes. The food was fairly good. If you don't want a greasy burger, I certainly would not recommend this place. But for a greasy bar burger, it was very flavorful. We ordered two burgers, onion rings and chili cheese fries. The burgers and fries came out quick but the onion rings came out as we took our last bites. That was frustrating. Burgers were served on paper and grease was coming through the paper, but the fries were on a plate. Overall, not sure I'll back. The experience left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

We weren't sure what we wanted to eat and what they had in this bar when we walked in, but the waitress was very polite and professional. She acknowledged us as we sat down and took our drink order. The ambiance is that of a dive bar and everyone there looked to be having a great time and great conversations. As for parking, it is on Main Street so we parked down and walked around. We all ordered the All American cheeseburger with tater tots. The burger was very tasty!! There were no complaints at all. I definitely recommend this place if you just want a cheeseburger! read more

I wouldn't bother trying this place after 4 pm as it appears they like to close early. The young waiter looked embarrassed when I told him they should think about changing their advertised time from "closes at 5" to 4 or even 3 if they're not interested in new customers an hour before 5. Fail on the service side. Kid seemed nice. I'll never know what the food is like since I haven't been able to get anything in the afternoons. Dude, just close the restaurant down at 2 and save yourself the bother of possibly having to prepare food for anyone in the afternoon. And as a bonus you can start cleaning the grill at 12:30 and be out by 1 pm. making food for people at restaurants and making money doing it is over-rated anyway. read more

Excellent burgers at fair prices. I love the sourdough buns! The chili fries are saucy and packed with flavor. The fries retain their crispiness under the flavorful chili and melted cheese. The burgers are juicy and unpretentious. Let your nose be your guide and try Margie's! Note for vegetarians, this might not be the place for you unless you're happy with cheese fries and fried sides. Although a grilled cheese on sourdough sounds good, maybe, maybe with a little tomato and avocado read more

I have a new favorite burger place in Bryan-College Station. It's this place. It replaces my previous favorite burger joint here, Burger House. The place itself has a charming 'downtown hole-in-the-wall bar/restaurant' atmosphere. The service is quite good and very friendly. The star is the food. Just really good and simple burgers cooked right in front of you that tastes really really good. The prices are really good too. I highly recommend this place! read more

great first time experience at margie's! our burger guy retired but he recommended margie's. they have a good classic style burger! wish we had ordered a larger one- the 1/3 lb felt super small which is weird because we usually eat 1/3 lb burgers. these burgers aren't as messy as some but good classic flavors. the inside has tables to sit at ans there were a decent amount of people sitting. the inside is much cuter than the outside. It's a hole in the wall style place for sure but inside is well kept. the staff were super friendly and helpful! there's no website so i'll post a current menu here. you can call ahead and order for pickup. my husband said this is now his new favorite burger place in town! read more
