    In Between Burger

First time here, definitely a historical joint. Be prepared to wait, but that's part of the experience. It took about 20 minutes for them to take our order in 25 minutes to bring it to our table, but again, not an issue. I had the In-Between burger, which was pretty decent and good value, even though they've had to increase prices. I ordered the onion rings, but they ran out so we tried the fries, which were excellent. I also tried a couple of tater tots, but they were a tad over salted and maybe the oil temperature could've been increased because they retained a little too much cooking oil. After trying the tater tots and then going back to my burger, it seemed like the salt felt a little over the top between the seasoning and the patty, the egg and the bacon, makes sense so if you're not a fan of a salty meal then you might wanna try something else on the menu. They had country music playing at a reasonable volume (I hate when other restaurants have music annoyingly loud), and everyone else in the restaurant seemed to be enjoying their meals. I would definitely go again and recommend this place if you're in downtown Bryan, Texas.

Came to Bryan for work. I was looking for a good place to eat. I kept hearing everyone talk about Margie's. In fact, when I went into the local barbershop, the barber had one that looked delicious. I walked down the street after work and found Margie's. This place has been in business for 101 YEARS! The place smelled like heaven so the burgers had to have been good. We sat down and the polite staff came to serve us. We ordered a few burgers and one large fry for a family of four. The burgers rolled straight off the grill, piping hot and super fresh. I will tell you this, I have tried many burger places before as I travel for work. THIS BY FAR IS THE BEST BURGER I HAVE EVER HAD, PERIOD! I will be back and I will be taking one for the road tomorrow as I travel back home. God bless the town of Bryan. God bless Margie's, and God bless the staff! FIVE STARS

    101 year old griddle

I'm not a local but I've been to Margie's multiple times and they have the best burger I've ever had in my 54 years. The Opersteny Burger is the way to go, don't let the smaller 2oz patty deter you, it is amazing. Double meat/double cheese! Lots of history, Like the 101 year old griddle they use to develop flavor. Check it out if you are in Bryan, TX or take a road trip, it's worth it!

Not sure if it was just me or if I caught them on a bad day. Came in on a weekend for lunch. The place was HOT with a few fans blowing. Not sure if they have a working AC or not but I was sweating. Sat down and a server came to the table and didn't seem very interested or very customer service oriented. She seemed annoyed with us. We ordered two drinks, a beer and a canned margarita (I remember because when we asked about margaritas they said they only had cans and we noticed the frozen margarita machine behind the bar was off) and a different server came back with two beers... i tried to explain it wasn't what we ordered but we were just looked at blankly. He didn't seem to care and just shrugged. I thought it was interesting the original female server didn't serve us after taking our drink order and just stood behind the counter. Our new server, young man, was also lacking in his customer service skills. When he brought the food, I asked for ketchup and after no response, I decided to get up and go to the counter to get it myself rather than waiting another 5-10 minutes. The food was fairly good. If you don't want a greasy burger, I certainly would not recommend this place. But for a greasy bar burger, it was very flavorful. We ordered two burgers, onion rings and chili cheese fries. The burgers and fries came out quick but the onion rings came out as we took our last bites. That was frustrating. Burgers were served on paper and grease was coming through the paper, but the fries were on a plate. Overall, not sure I'll back. The experience left a bad taste in my mouth.

We weren't sure what we wanted to eat and what they had in this bar when we walked in, but the waitress was very polite and professional. She acknowledged us as we sat down and took our drink order. The ambiance is that of a dive bar and everyone there looked to be having a great time and great conversations. As for parking, it is on Main Street so we parked down and walked around. We all ordered the All American cheeseburger with tater tots. The burger was very tasty!! There were no complaints at all. I definitely recommend this place if you just want a cheeseburger!

I have a new favorite burger place in Bryan-College Station. It's this place. It replaces my previous favorite burger joint here, Burger House. The place itself has a charming 'downtown hole-in-the-wall bar/restaurant' atmosphere. The service is quite good and very friendly. The star is the food. Just really good and simple burgers cooked right in front of you that tastes really really good. The prices are really good too. I highly recommend this place!

I used to live around Hempstead, Prairie view and Waller a couple years ago when I first came to Texas and it was kinda hard finding good places to eat ' I'm not gonna lie I was scouring yelp for about 30 mins before I stumbled across Burger House. I even got to the point where I asked some locals and they said Burger House was a burger staple in C station. Upon looking at the photos, it seemed like a burger that you make at the house to be candid. When I pulled up, I was like "oh wow this place look like a straight shack that's fasho." I decided to go through the drive-through & when I pulled up to the drive-through the gentleman who took my order was hella welcoming and just overall nice like he was happy I pulled up. I swear I was the highlight of my visit. I ended up getting the combo , bacon cheeseburger with fries and a drink, and it was for decent price too. The burger itself was mediocre if I'm being honest, the meat lacked some seasoning, though the fries were pretty decent with a soft inside, light crisp outside. I like the fact they put the lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles on the side instead of in the burger which can make it soggy. So there was some attention to detail. The Bun though? That thang was soft on the outside and was lightly toasted on the inside, which was dope. Would I be back? If I'm being honest, just to say wasup to the gentlemen who took my order and that's about it!

Garlic Burger w/ Garlic Fries- if you're a garlic fan, this was packed with a pretty strong garlicky taste. Superman w/ Garlic Fries- large and flavorful. Not too spicy from the jalapeños, but the veggies and bun balances it out. Banana Pudding- probably the best that I've ever had and I've eaten a lot. We got a combo with all garlic fries and a refillable fountain drinks. The burgers were made fresh and so juicy. The garlic fries were ridiculously delicious. The drinks were Texas made and they delicious. I loved the strawberry cream soda or the orange cream soda. Lots of different burgers and desserts to choose from. Overall, decently priced for the portions and the quality of the food. These burgers were probably the best fresh juicy burgers that we've had so far in town. We will definitely be back to try the other choices. Staff are very friendly. It was pretty busy so they gave me a heads up about waiting approximately 40mins which was ok for us cause we had time on our side. I was just happy and appreciative that they communicated that vs me just waiting forever thinking that they forgot about me. The restaurant is self order and pickup. As small as it looks on the inside, there's quite a bit tables to include a mini snack shop. There are additional tables outside too. It can get a little congested near the cashiers area. We checked Yelp for something other than Mexican food and this place had really great reviews. As soon as we walked it we knew it was going to be good. The menu isn't too large, which to me meant that they have spent a lot of time perfecting the things that are on the menu. The service was really good and as soon as we sat down, we ordered a couple of sodas and the Boudin balls. We took a couple minutes to look at the menu and everything looked really good, but the spicy chicken sandwich was really calling out to both of us. So we ordered those one with potato salad and one with rice. The Boudin balls were delicious. They were pretty large in size and the sauce that it came with had a little bit of a kick to it. My favorite thing was that it was mostly meat on the inside and the flavor was incredible. Same with the chicken sandwich. It also had a kick and by the time I was done my mouth was pretty warm. I thought the potato salad was a great way to help cool it off, and it was just as good as the sandwich. I loved the batter on the chicken, and I thought the bun was toasted perfectly. This would be a place I would go to regularly if I lived in the area. Parking was pretty tight and most of the spots were taken up so we did park in a spot we weren't supposed to, but luckily we didn't get towed!

When I tell you the spirit of Louisiana and NOLA was in the place! So you will miss the place if you aren't paying attention. The sign is small and the building looks like it used to be a church fellowship hall. It's not fancy and it's small, however, don't discount it. Don't judge a book by its cover and great things come in small packages. It's a family owned and run business. By the looks of it, it can probably seat 40 people and I'm pushing it with the number. However from the time you walk in until the time you leave, you feel like you're at your great aunt's house. It was five of us and when you walk in, it's seat yourself and first come, first serve. The food came out piping hot and cooked fresh. My husband and brother-in-law got the catfish platter with red beans and rice (no pork) and Mac-n-cheese. My sister and I got the Nawlins boil that had a crab cluster, shrimp, corn, potato, boiled egg and a sausage link. My nephew got a shrimp po-boy with fries. The food was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The fish and fries were crispy. The Mac-n-cheese isn't creamy but it isn't dry. Perfect amount of cheese and flavor. The red beans and rice had the perfect balance of flavor. The boil...my goodness the boil. They have the amount of the boil down to a science to make it a full meal. At first glance, I didn't think it would be seasoned well because the season looked like a dry rub. It wasn't saucy or juicy - until I took my first bite. I almost walked to the kitchen to kiss the cook. They are not skimpy on any of the food either. Even the po-boy had an overload of shrimp. When we were there, it was a packed house. There was also a large party who was rather disgruntled - not because of the service or food but because they were impatient. Remember this is a family owned business with 2 servers and maybe 3 cooks that cook to order. So if you're looking for quick food, this isn't the place. If you have time to sit, enjoy some great food with great company in a casual home style restaurant...this is your place.
