I have been coming here for about a year now with my mom (about once a month). They have always been extremely friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. Many of the nail technicians are patient, detail-oriented, and understand a good amount of english. There is always someone here who can help translate between vietnamese and english so you should always leave happy with how your nails look. Free wi-fi and drinks. Beautiful and relaxing environment with great floor-to-ceiling windows (ample natural light). The nail salon has multiple pedicure chairs and manicure stations, so it is easy to bring friends and family. Low intermittent environmental noise allows for good conversation. The bathroom is ADA compliant, and they could easily accomadate services for people who are in wheelchairs. Many good food choices across the street. Great parking! read more

The salon itself is quite nice inside, but the nail techs my sister and I had were not particularly skilled. My tech had clearly never applied gels before, and my sister's tech ended up trading places with her to finish my manicure. Also, there was this guy (the manager?) who was rather abrasive toward the women and slightly pushy with guests, but didn't really do anything to help except greet customers. A few of my friends have had great experiences here, so perhaps I just got the wrong tech. I might be willing to give it another try. read more

A great location around lots of other shops and food places so there is much to do after getting your nails done, which is something I look for. I have acrylics and I've found that some places do poor quality acrylics, but Progress Nails & Spa is not one of those places! Ask for Tina, she is fantastic. She listens to what you want and everything is always executed perfectly, I've been to her many times now. My nails are always perfectly shaped and my gel polish never chips and my nails never break! I've been coming here off and on for around 3 years. I've had a couple rough nail techs, but turnover is high so I'm usually pretty forgiving. The salon managers are so personable and the facility is clean and pretty. BUT... I think I've reached my boiling point. I got THE worst DIP set I've ever received... ANYWHERE today. The shape, thickness, filing, INJURIES... all awful. I've got 3-4 cuts that I have to let heal before I get them done again. Even down to the final top coat... it's poorly distributed and bubbly. My tech asked me several times if I liked my nails throughout the process and I kept trying to politely correct mistakes (she even said "it's my first day back, I forgot" after applying the DIP products out of order), but she just kept filing and they just got worse. So eventually I just let it go and let her finish. 1 hour and 45 minutes later, after hiding my pain and dissatisfaction under my mask... it was over. All that time and I had to come home and make them presentable enough MYSELF to go out in public. I paid because laws. I even tipped because, bless your heart. But, I won't be back. Which is a bummer because they know me by name, and have been mutually supportive of my work in the community. Maybe my tech was out of practice, or maybe there's just a disconnect in training... but sheesh. There's no reason for such a drastic difference in work between visits. read more

There are a ton of nail salon choices in the area, and this one is below average. I've been there 3 times and waited to post my opinion until after the third one. The salon itself is nice, the people are friendly, they offer beverages (so that's a plus) and they have a TON of color choices, but each time, my shellac pedicure has been poorly done. They don't soak the old color off, they file it off, which has left nicks in my skin and actually hurts. Then, the polish at the base of the toes is so thickly applied that it ends up pooling and then lifting after a week or so. For me, if the polish isn't good - I can't give a good review. read more

Why have a sign that says "walk-ins welcome" when they are clearly not? I walked in at 2pm yesterday, asked if I could wait for a pedicure and was told yes, pick a color. Another woman walked in five minutes after that, asked the same question, and was given the same response. Two minutes after THAT, someone come up to me and said "we don't have time for you right now- come back." Why they chose me and not the woman after me to ask to leave I'll never know. What I do know is there are plenty of other nail places around here that aren't as rude. read more

They not only accommodated our big party with the back area of the salon, they made sure to have additional technicians available during our appointment. They are very friendly and the salon is clean. They even provided me with a bottle of champagne as a congrats for the wedding. I work in the area and gave them a call to do a price check on a shellac polish change, they quoted me $15 which is typical from place to place. I showed up to get my nails done, the girl sat me down with no greeting. I very sweetly proceeded to ask her what brand of shellac they use, she looked at mea somewhat annoyed and said "i don't know". My response was " could you please find out for me?" she walked to the back, grabbed a polish and placed it in front of me. didnt say a word. Made me a little uncomfortable. Then when she sat down she said "i know you just called but its actually $20 today since you already have polish on" :/ i think this is bad business practice. No pricing posted. Changing a quote. having a bad attitude when you are a new business makes clients feel very uncomfortable. This place has horrible customer service. I called ahead of time to ask if they had time for 2 pedicures (I hate just walking in without an appointment). The lady that answered said yes, she told me to come in at 2pm, but she didn't ask for my name or my number to book the appointment. When I got there at 2pm they told me it was going to be 20 minutes....really? Since I seriously needed a pedi, I decided to stay and they sat me down at a pedi chair to soak in water. At 2:34, they told me it about be 10 more minutes. At 2:45, they tell me it will be another 10 minutes. I was so pissed off, I literally took me feet out of the water and walked out of the salon. Sad to right this review as I had high hopes for this shinny new salon walking distance from my house. I went in for a gel manicure 3 days ago and most of my nails are already chipped. The girl was very nice and I will say the complimentary drink options is a nice touch however my gel polish was applied way too thin (I went for red and with two coats you can still see through it) and one of my cuticles was cut so that it bled. The water for soaking my fingers was cold not even semi warm. With the grand opening 20% off discount (it went down from 30% off to 20% off at some point) I paid $24 with tip and it just wasn't even worth that much. The hot rock massage during the pedicure is amazing! The staff is friendly and listens carefully in order to give you awesome service. All of the prices for their services are clearly listed on an easy-to-read sign on an interior wall. They also offer complimentary beverages including margaritas and champagne (excellent!)!!! ALL this place cares about is MONEY! I recently took my girlfriend here to get an acrylic nail set, and at first things seemed fine, great service, helpful, and the manicure seemed quality. That was until 4 days later, 3 of the nails broke straight off. We went back the next day to ask if they would be willing to fix them and they did. But the next day 2 more fell off! When 5 out of 10 had broken in 5 days, my girlfriend decided that she wanted to ask for them all off. We did not expect our money back, all we wanted was to have her nails returned to normal, but NO. They tried to charge us $10 to remove them after we had already spent $35 on the set and tipped $10 for her nails to last 5 days! During the service they were very hard on my gf's hands, after they had already commented on her hand being peely and dry. They proceeded to soak them In a very harsh chemical which left burns and blisters on her already dry hands. Finally after the service was done, our technician turned to the owner and asked him to not charge us. It was a DEBATE for the owner to not charge for essentially fixing a problem they had created. All in all we spent $45 for her nails to look good for less than a week. They did not offer us any compensation, only tried to get us to pay for other services. The past 4 months I have made appointments weeks in advance for varying sized groups of people (2,3, or 5). Each time I have waited 45 minutes to 90 minutes for them to start on every person in my group or for them to get the appropriate number of seats together for pedicures. The quality of the services has also been more variable lately. I've always had a good technician but a few of my friends got unsatisfying pedicures the last two times I've visited. What is the point of taking appointments if they don't plan accordingly and make you wait? Most recently, I made an appointment for 2 people. We sat for 45 minutes before being seen to and a pair of walk in customers (who arrived literally 1 minute before I did) were served before us. I'm tired of waiting when I have an appointment and will not be returning. When I am in the neighborhood I will try Diva Nails across the street. read more

Sadly I have been a long time customer with this salon and the past three times have been awful. First bad experience: made a appointment for 11 am with my normal guy: Danny- when I came in they said he didn't work there anymore and they had No one for me. I waited and a was passed along between three nail techs- they should of called all his clients if he wasn't going to be there. Second back experience: had white nail polish done and within one day they cracked. They were nice and re-did them but blamed me for not talking care of them... it was less than 24 hours... the nails looked like glass cracked... how could I do that??? Third horrible experience happened yesterday: had a 10 am appointment and came in and was seated. The women nail tech was going so fast and not doing anything to my nails at all. I then heard that she had a lady waiting for her.... so she was a trying to rush me out to get to the other lady. I told her that I was willing to wait for another person to do my nails so she could get to her other appointment but she said " I am not going fast" after I called her out for rushing. My nails looked awful, the polish were all over my fingers, and I went home and had to fix up my nails on my own. I didn't stay for the massage because I was so frustrated on how my nails looked and how I was treated. I pay a lot to get my nails done and have a relaxing experience and this was A horrible way to start my day. The front desk man asked what was wrong, and I said I was disappointed because she rushed and the nails looked awful. I hate making a scene so I just wanted to get out of there ASAP. I don't know what has gone wrong with this place, but sadly my mom and I will not return and I don't advise you to. The three times I have been in there with bad experiences, a lot of people have been having them as well (overheard in conversation). I have been coming to Progress Nails for about 9 months now every other week to get my nails done. Everyone at the salon is so nice and friendly and really do a good and thorough job on my nails. Special praise to Anna, Tammy & Denny for always doing such a great job on my nails! Danny did my eyelash extensions and they are absolutely amazing! I used to go to another place downtown and I will never go back! He took so much of his time caring for the well-being of my lashes themselves. He is truly amazing. I have never gotten more compliments on a set of lashes, then Danny's! They are much fuller than any other lashes and so very natural and beautiful looking! I'm only on week 1 and I haven't lost a single lash yet, price is very reasonable as well. The only thing that was a bummer was that they only except cash tips and I NEVER carry cash on me. They have an ATM but I don't like paying money for the "service fee" I always have to remember to have cash but if I'm out and about making an appointment there are times I just forget. read more
