After moving and leaving my previous salon of many years, I'd been on the hunt for a new spot... which can be challenging. A recently met a woman and her nails looked amazing, so I asked her where she got them done and she recommended Avalon Nails. I called around 6:15pm for a dip manicure, I also needed a pedicure but recognized I was coming in late and didn't want to be rude. The lovely manager, Tee, took my appointment over the phone and told me the pedicure wouldn't be a problem. I showed up around 6:45, I was immediately sat into the pedicure chair. They started on my fingers at the same time. Okay time efficient queens. Go off. There were other customers in the salon too, I noticed how every technician was very personable and seemed to have relationships with their clients which made it feel very comfortable and welcoming. I was the last one in the salon. I was not rushed one time and Tee took her time hand painting the perfect red French tip even though it was very late. After a few botched jobs and being charged up the Yin Yang at other salons I've tried in the area... I have finally found my spot!!! The quality of work, the pricing, the technicians...ALL 100/10!!! First and foremost, this nail salon was filthy. I assume they hadn't cleaned since they opened. I was welcomed in, didn't have to wait long but as I was seated and began to look through all of the nail swatches and I realized how filthy the place was. There was nail residue, dust, cuticle pieces... I was too embarrassed to leave. I was really grateful I didn't get any nail fungus from this salon. I'm pretty sure they don't sanitize between clients. The woman who helped me was lovely, she did take a phone call while helping me which was a little bit of an annoyance. The gel manicure I got looked nice and was okay quality, it did however start to chip within 3 days of getting the manicure. Overall would not recommend. read more

This place is a hidden gem! Located in a little strip mall don't let the exterior fool you this place does amazing nails! I've been to places and that have cost twice as much and not had the same quality of manicure or pedicure! I'm very, very, very picky when it comes to who does my nails due to a poor salon experience three years ago. I never thought I'd find a nail place that I could comfortably visit more than once. Well, I found one...Avalon! This has been my second visit, I got a fill on my solar nails and my nail tech easily repaired one of my nails that broke. The customer service is phenomenal. I am always addressed by my name and the small talk is natural and genuine. They truly make sure that they put you first. The salon was so cozy, it was warm and it smelled like they lit a candle. It set the perfect mood especially since it was stormy out. My nails look stunning! Ugh...fees fees and more fees. You get a 2$ discount if you pay with cash and they conveniently have an ATM there which charges 1$ so not much of a discount...especially if your bank also charges. But if you pay with card they charge 2.5% which was an added 7.50 on my bill. They like to take cash so they don't have to claim as much on taxes. Not really fair for those of us that have to pay taxes. Just my humble opinion. Other places don't charge those fees. The work wasn't spectacular enough for me to be ok with paying all the extra fees AND tip. read more

I haven't had a nail service since the pandemic started so I was quite nervous to book a pedicure appointment. I am 8.5 months pregnant and have been following covid safety protocols very strictly so making this appointment was a big step outside my comfort zone but my doctor recommended I do something nice for myself such as a pedicure. I was referred to Avalon by my hair stylist who said she'd heard good things about the salon. I called in advance to ask about their safety protocol. They are appointment only, you must wear a mask inside, they check your temperature at the door and then make you go directly to a sink in the back to wash your hands using the guidance on a poster above the sink. They also have separators between the technicians and guest. It wasn't busy in there BUT I planned it this way by booking an appointment mid-day on a workday. The woman who did my pedicure was lovely. We didn't talk or anything but I think she could tell I was tired (hello pregnancy) and in need of relaxation. She took alot of time on my calf and foot massage which felt splendid. I almost fell asleep a few times. She did a fantastic job with my pedicure. Because I'm not able to reach my toes I was feeling pretty lousy about my feet but when I glanced down after I had these pretty, red, glossy nails shining up at me! I will definitely be coming back here after the baby is born, when I can! read more

Usually this is my favorite nail salon in Beaverton and have always done a great job with my acrylics for the last year or more. But lately the last 2 sets I've gotten DIDN'T go too well. But this last one was the one that has made me come to the decision that I won't return I asked for a certain color because I had 2 colors in the set before and she refused to do it and had my choose a different color. Once it was put on I didn't like it and she also didn't listen to that. At the end of the appointment I checked my nails and the ends were un even, same with the polish, the acrylic polymer did not cover my whole nail bed same with the and she practically shredded my cuticles. It was painful and feel like I spent the 40+ dollars here unwisely. Disappointed might give this salon another shot I haven't decided yet. read more

I actually liked this salon until my recent experience, I came to get my acrylics I got done at this salon ( dip) taken off and just give my natural nails time to grow. When I came in they gave me a different lady. That's fine. But when I explained what I wanted, "nails taken off, try and keep the short natural nail length underneath please and dip powder just to keep it strong " she insisted I get a fill. After I told her no MANY TIMES and that's not what I wanted she went and did it anyways saying she knows what's better! She cut my nails dip and acrylic nail attached still! To a shorter length And it was quite painful. She chipped of some of the dip at the bed drilled down the nail bed part and filled with dip. The majority of the old dip was still on, the same color, same acrylic, and just shaped it. I asked her to do almond but it really didn't come out almond. She didn't drill down the new dip to give it a smooth look just buffed it and put shellac. I just really hated the whole experience because I like the feeling of fresh nails and I didn't get that. She didn't listen and then CHARGES ME 54$ for the the whole thing!!! Why is is 54$? I got a fill and shellac on top. No designs, and even shorter length! read more

I've been coming here for years and I've gotten my nails done by multiple people. Everyone has done a great job. They take their time and doesn't leave a gap by my cuticles! I also don't like my shellac or dipped nails super thick. It should look organic and they last easily over a month. Prices are cheaper than most places. It's about a 30 minute drive for me but this place is worth checking out. It was just by chance I found it after eating dinner nearby. I would give this salon zero stars. The ladies rushed through our manis, didn't clean up the cuticles, didn't fully remove my existing nail polish, and didn't actually paint my nails in full. All the edges of all my nails were missing paint. The paint was not drying and chipped off the next day on most fingers nails. The nice people at Avalon Nails had a slot open, and I chose my nail color (Sonoran Sunset). They had my fingers in warm water before you could say "nail file," and made my nails look all pretty and girly. I found everyone there friendly and ready to help. They spent the time to make sure my manicure was dry, fixed up any little nicks, and they took my wallet out of my purse and pulled out my card for processing so I wouldn't mess my nails up. This was my first time doing shellac and this was the right place to chose!! I love the color selection and everything is so nice and clean! I wasn't going to right a review until I waited a couple weeks because I've had friends that weren't happy with chipping from other salons. BUT I AM SOO HAPPY!! My nails lasted 3 weeks without chipping. And this shocked me since I always tend to break nails and chip polish because I use my hands a lot for work.
