Came here because my kid needed to get shellac removed off her nails, so why don't we both get manis?! Her nail tech was super friendly, took her time and did a great job. They were chatting the entire time. My tech was also friendly but didn't speak much and did a great job on my nails except for the fact that my finger was cut from filing my nails. I don't like looking at my nails when they trim my cuticles so I was looking away when she was filing and figured the pain was part of the process. - Can you tell I never get my nails done?? The color I chose was a sparkly green. She recommended that we do a base color and recommended a dark green, that turned out to look AMAZING. I loved how the nails turned out, I didn't love the deep cut in my finger. Therefore, I can't bring myself to give them more than an "a-ok."

Very good pedicure! The pedicure was $25. Very happy that I came here over my first stop at a different salon nearby. My pedicure included a hot stone message. What a great touch! I've went to a lot of nail salons in the west Portland area some high dollar and mom and pop shops. This place is uniquely in the middle and the staff are all so sweet and caring! Prices are right in the middle with quality work. You can tell when a place is good when all that is in the place is regulars, they have to be doing something right. All my pedicures feel like heaven and my nails are always spot on. read more

This was so much fun and really a needed service. I was a little apprehensive about the warm stone massage but it actually really made my muscles feel regenerated and relaxed. The place was clean and they used proper sanitation protocols. I enjoyed the experience fully. I left with beautifully painted toes and refreshed feet. read more

Just moved into neighborhood and decided to try this place for a pedicure. Honestly best pedicure I have ever had. The regular pedi was so good that I can't wait to try the deluxe next time. By far, hands down, the BEST nail salon in the Portland Metro area. I've had my mani/pedis from Tina, Tony and one other person there. The quality of work has been superb each time. No nicks and cuts on my cuticles, long, soothing massages, perfectly painted nails every time. They have close to 100 colors to choose from in the Shellac/Gelish polish color wheel. The most I've ever seen in one place. The salon is CLEAN. Every time I've been there someone is sweeping and scrubbing the basins, tables, and floors. They have stayed open up to an hour passed closing time for me on at least three occasions when I simply called and asked if they could squeeze me in. I absolutely love the service, quality, and value, owner, and staff at this salon. read more

I am from NY and have been living in Los Angeles for 7 years, so I am REALLY picky about nail salons. THIS IS HIGHLY recommended and I've gone about 6 times since I'm in town for business. The massage chairs are AMAZING and they do remember who you are and fit you right in. I got a set to fix my horribly short nails and now they are grown out and I have gels. They look natural and have great colors. I do recommend an appointment. read more

This is by far my favorite nail salon. Everyone is so sweet! I love how comfortable I feel when I get my nails done here. My girlfriend and I went to essence yesterday and were SO pleased with the outcome of our visit and our nails. They were so polite, so understanding and so willing to try the nail designs we walked in with our hearts set on. I stopped by after work to get a quick shellac manicure. I had never been in before, but it was close to work, close to the freeway, and I was in need of a manicure - so i decided to stop in. I have been to Essence Nails half a dozen times. It was always pretty consistent. I recommended my friend and I go there yesterday. I made appointment. I had to wait. When I was services the lady didn't say ONE word...she was fast and didn't do a complete job. In addition she acted annoyed when the time would run out on the dryer and she instructed me to use it without works but by aggressively tapping it. I was really disappointed for my friend as well since I recommended place. His nails were not smooth and were uneven. There are many choices in this field. Choose another place. :/ read more

Cute & clean place with convenient parking right in front. I had a pedicure by Cathy, she's very sweet and did a great job. It included a tangerine scrub that smelled really good and a short rock massage. Ok selection of polishes. I called for an appointment with Cathy on recommendation from a friend and she was able to see me same day, actually within 10 minutes! I was happy about that, I'll definitely come back! read more

I made a same day appointment for after work. I was greeted immediately when I walked in, and selected my color for a shellac manicure. The woman who performed my manicure was very gentle, polite, and kept the small talk to a minimum (which I really appreciated.) Very fast, in and out, and I am happy overall. Once she was done & I looked in the mirror I just literally didn't know what to say. She goes "oh for your face you should have thinner brows; thick ones don't look good on you." I've never had someone tell me how my eyebrows should look & be totally wrong -- especially after I specifically said how I wanted them. Most people always compliment my shape & are envious that I have the brow that most people strive for but never achieve. I'm literally in tears as I'm trying to fill in my brows to give them the shape I've worked so hard to have. Worst of all; I'm in my best friend wedding in a month & I'm extremely worried that they won't grow back in enough to be what I am used to & what ACTUALLY looks good on my face. I don't believe they keep up with their sanitary processing of instruments. I will not be returning and am very disappointed in the services I received.

I love this Salon, it's within walking distance of my house and they always do a good job. The ladies are friendly and always make me feel at home. Love the hot stone massage fore the pedicure! My husband and I went for pedicures when we were on vacation in Oregon. They did a great job and were very professional. I called the salon a month later to ask a question and the lady I spoke with was very professional and she remembered us.
