Be careful who you get. It's pretty extreme. They're either really good or terrible. The lady i got messed up so terribly on my design request, took 1.5 hours on a simple gel design, charged me almost as much as an acrylic (she made up her own price since i used my own "difficult" design?) AND when i gave her the tip to split it with the woman who did my pedicure, she tried to keep the whole thing and tried to avoid my comment to split the tip by repeating to me "the woman who did your pedicure is over there" and wouldn't let go of my tip.... all the edges of the design are round and doesn't reach the edges of my finger AND the edges are so messy. How does someone not know how to do a matte design? In the middle of her MESSY service, she admits "I've never done matte before" and continued the massacre. I recommend Sessy Nail in Placentia. I'm only giving this place on star because that's the lowest you can give I came a couple months ago to get acrylic gel. I walked in and like all other places that lie to get your business, they said 'one minute hold please'. One minute turned into 20 and then took an hour and a half (yes I timed it) to do my nails I wanted to go today on my lunch so I called and asked if they could take me in in 2-3 minutes and they said yes (gave them my name and everything). I showed up within 2 minutes and no one was available. There was a lady at the front and she told me to pick a color then went to sit down at an empty booth. I pick the color and go sit with her (where she told me to sit) then she walks away. Another lady said 'give me one minute'. One minute turned into 27 minutes (I got there at 12:59 and she didn't sit and ask what I needed until 1:26). So I told her I'm on my lunch and have to go back @2 and she said 'oh I can't finish in 30 minutes' so I said 'okay then sorry I have to leave. I wish you would have told me this 20 minutes ago...) I decided to wait to give my review after my second visit. I gave 2 stars instead of a 1 because I gave this nail salon a second chance. They failed miserably. My first visit was not so good. I had a pedicure with gel and manicure without color. In and out in 20 minutes and charged $45 and I tipped both ladies $5 each. Many of these ladies are lazy and seriously have attitudes when you do not like something. I tip generously. Today's visit included a full set short oval regular nail polish. The nail polish was applied WAY TO THICK! Waited 45 minutes for them to dry at the salon and I get home and they still are smudging and have marks all over them. Never going back! I've been coming here since 2010 and I love Cindy for my gel mani and pedi. For acrylic I go to Molly and I've always left happy. There have been a couple of ladies that have done my nails and I've been happy as well. If there's something that I'm unhappy with, I speak up and tell them. I don't go home then write a nasty review. They're always willing to help me and make it how I want it. The prices are reasonable. If you want fancy then go to the ritz Carlton spa. But seriously I love this place! Convenient and close to home. Starbucks close by so I can enjoy my latte and listen to some George Michael while getting my nails done! Winner! UNIMPRESSED! My husband and I got pedicures here (against my better judgement) and we were both really disappointed. And that says a lot for him because he is really very unbothered, usually. We decided to give this place a try because it is super close to our gym and it looked and sounded decent enough. We ended up waiting over 20 mins, water in the footbaths were cold, my paint bubbled and chipped in less than a week and his toenails were cut crooked. And this place charges probably 20% more than my normal salon, that is tons cleaner and newer. Never again! read more

I come in no receptionist, that's the first sign business isn't so great, second my mom spent five minutes in the doorway explaining she needs gel removal and new gel manicure. I go to sit down and the lady is confused I just want my nails filed not cut, she tells me to put my feet in the water, I put one foot in and burned myself is scalding hot water. What a little game they play, it's a hot summer day I'm pregnant with sweaty feet, why not make the water room temp but after I got my foot burned off I quickly told my mom lets go " lets go!" These women are apathetic about their job and they don't care about you. I can see why this place only has 2 1/2 stars. This is probably one of the worst experiences I've had a while. I honestly could of done a better job myself at home. The first person who did my nails completely messed up one of my hands and then rolled her eyes when I told her it needed to be redone. It was completely uneven and bubbles left and right. Someone else came in and redid it and still disappointed. At the end, right when I was done, they were rushing me out of the chair. Did not have a good experience at all. My nail technician "Jennifer" was very distracted during the entire process and paid little attention to me. She would try to up-sell me in everything which is not bad, but when I said no she changes my answer to yes and got the supplies for the callus removal anyway. That was on me that I didn't fight it I just let it happen. But while she was doing the callus removal she didn't even allow for my feet to soak in the cream and cellophane, and when she was filing off the calluses, she was doing it so lightly that I just assumed she was applying more cream. She literally did not scrape the anything off! Then she asked me if I wanted a salt scrub and I was very loud and clear that I did not. Now we are at the time of the lotion massage before the application of my nail polish. I couldn't feel any pressure at all in the lengthy foot massage and I leaned over to my friend to tell her i couldn't feel the massage and then she asked if it felt good and I said, it's ok. She told me she was going soft because I was pregnant and she didn't want the baby to jump. Ok so she recognized that she wasn't really giving me a massage. But then asked if I want to pay more for an extra massage!!! What!?? Color application:then she applies my color(which is glittery) with out applying a base coat, to which I'm not happy with because glitter nail polish is like cement on file nails w/out a base, so I speak up and ask if she could apply one at least for the other foot and she fights with me that she already did! And she asked me to feel my other toes to see that she did, so I did and I felt the toughness of my filed nails that were bone dry and I tell her so. She fights with me some more and says that they dried already! She tells me she'll put on more if I'd like and I say i would like that. Then she proceeds to put it on and then fight and say look how fast this dries and it looks the same(which it doesn't because now there is a glossy shine on it) so I ask her if she's going to continue to fight with me or if she's going to let it go. She finally stops. Oy, so uncomfortable! Oh and they don't accept tips on card anymore and unfortunately I didn't have cash. Well maybe I'm not that upset that I couldn't have tipped! read more

We definitely will not be back. We had three of us in for services. I had a pedicure and manicure and couldn't relax, But I kept getting upsold. I kept replying that I just want a basic pedicure. Same with my nails. Then when it came to it the lady started doing gel on my nails and when I realized what she was doing she had one had with the first part of the gel and when she tried to put my hand in the machine I asked what she was doing. I told her I did not want gel and no apologies she filed it off, roughing up my nails. My daughter was getting a full set at the same time and was asked if she wanted gel, when my daughter said no it's too expensive the lady replied with, "that's ok your mom will pay" my daughter said no. Then she was asked about shape, she asked if she could have a coffin shape nail, the lady said " my boss not looking I do for free" (not free, I was charged) she said the same thing to her about matte finish and my daughter said no. Also, my daughters friend got a nail fixed and they wanted to charge me for her as a full set of nails. Their work was not good, we have odd shaped nails and they don't really match- shape wise. She's been doing my nails for over 5 years now and she never disappoints. Molly and the guy that works there also do a great job on nails. This was my first and last time at Professionail. I was looking for another nail salon and settled in this one. I understand that it's Friday night and 40 minutes til close; however, I still deserve the full nail salon experience. And if the services I asked for could not be accommodated within that time frame accordingly, I should have been told before I was offered a seat. I specifically came in for a full set and I don't mind paying for great service. The lady that did my nails was rude. I made a comment about the way my nails looked and her response suggested that I never wore acrylics before. The 2 main things that bothered me were the final presentation on my nails and the way I paid. I asked the manicurist if she would clean up my hands and remove the access acrylic residue from my fingers. She told that I had to wait until my nails were dry to remove it. I could tell that she was cleaning up to leave, so I asked her again. This time she told me that it would come off when I washed my hands. UNACCEPTABLE!! Why should I have to walk out, after paying to have my nails "professionally" done, with my fingers looking a mess. I did not walk in with acrylic reside all over my fingers! Tried this place for the first time yesterday. Will not be going back...EVER! First when I walked in they all just stared at me. Creepy guy at desk didn't speak a word to me. I had to ask for a gel manicure. Then as I sat getting my nails done they all chatted it up in the own language...so irritating! The girl who did my nail did an ok job however massage was crap! She never asked me how I was. Then, I've checked my bank account and they charged me $.50 to use my debit card and my bank charged me $2.50! Screw this place!! *Update: Just 2 days after my Gel manicure it started completely lifting off my nails! I had to super glue them back on!!! Gel is supposed to last around 4 weeks! Had a horrible experience on my first visit with a lady that refused to hand file my nails. Drills are fast and convenient for them but have destroyed my nails over the years. The only reason I have naturally long nails are due to the fact that I recognized this. The lady got an attitude and after several negative gestures I decided to take my business elsewhere. An older woman took over and proceeded as I asked and I felt it made up for the other and I decide to stay. There was another woman who worked here that was so sweet and after noticing the distress went out if her way to make me feel comfortable. Such a sweetheart and she wasn't even working in my nails. I literally wanted to cry and she sensed it. Exactly 1 week later, I was washing dishes and an entire nail was exposed because not only the gel came off but the dip too. Never had that happen. Also several nails had peeling gel. I can go 1- 1.5 mths before needing to redo my nails and have little time to go sooner, let alone go back in 1 week. I went back and I was told it had been 2 weeks. It had not. Then I feel like they are doing me a favor by fixing for free when this is clearly a brand issue since my nails with a different kind of gel we're solid. All I was looking for was accountability and customer service and I'm sitting here in the salon writing this because after I nicely asked to not have my entire fingers soaked in acetone, she rolled her eyes at me. That is completely toxic and unnecessary especially when they have caps for this. The she proceeded to tell me she would never do my nails again. NO PROB I WONT BE BACK!!! Sorry I have standards! Again, they do what's easiest for them despite the negative repercussion for the client and WORST OF ALL...they talk shit in their language right in front of me like I'm an idiot! I would be leaving 1 star since that's the minimum but I'm giving 2 stars for the 2 Star employees that did the right thing. They were kind, understanding and listened to my concerns. REAL CUSTOMER SERVICE! I can't condemn this place for 2 individuals but 2 visits with drama both times is not ok. Yeah, this place is gross. There is a skeevy guy that seems to run it. You'll see him. He's always there, and he's creepy. It was extremely dirty (toenails...ewww.) last time I went and it's overpriced on top of it. How happy you are will obviously depend on who you get, but I have had more bad experiences than good! They are very pushy about extra services and have no qualms about talking and laughing about the person they are working on. Last time I went, I sprang for the "callous remover" ($5) with my pedi. The girl was buffing my big toe and staring off into space and completely buffed off another, perfectly good part of my foot. Broken skin and a tiny bit of blood and everything. What did she do? She decided to pretend it didn't happen, and I didn't have the backbone to say anything. I just went on my way and vowed to never go back... I've been to this nail salon for several years now and Lisa always impresses me with her manicures (either acrylics or dip). I love that she takes her time every time she does my nails - my manicures last for a full month, sometimes even longer. As for Tracy, I just started having her do my pedicures and she is GREAT. She gets rid of any in-grown toenails in such a way, so that you don't feel uncomfortable. In addition, she was able to achieve the square shape I asked for and painted my toes so neatly. Dan is AMAZING!!! he si so meticulous and can even make my OCD mother happy about her mani/pedi! He speaks English perfectly and is so friendly! I have seen Kim and Lisa and both are very very good. They did my acrylics and pedi for my wedding and they lasted through a sandy and tropical honeymoon enough to last up until the next wedding I had to attend which was 3 wks after my wedding! I was here 2 days ago and had a gel mani done and it hasn't chipped and is extra shiny and has stayed that way as promised! it's $12 more than a regular mani but totally worth it! Cindy did such a great job on my nails. She noticed that my cuticles were badly damaged and dried out so not only did she recommend an oil treatment (which was totally worth the extra $5) but she also spent more time throughout the whole process to trim the excess skin around my cuticle! They also have so many gel colors to choose from and what I loved most was that they use a uv nail strengthening base coat. This is definitely ideal if you don't want frail nails after removing the gel polish. I would say they are average price for quality service. My total was $35 for gel mani w/oil treatment and tip. Got a pedicure here for the first time today. My big toe nail broke a few days ago, and so I requested acrylic gel to make it look better. The technician insisted that I not get acrylic since it can cause fungus (I get it). But I've done this before and never had an issue. I continued to insist and she eventually agree to do it. Then she proceeds to file my big toe down until she made me bleed, when I jump and say "ow" she says again that she won't do acrylic gel and that she's just going to apply nail polish. At this point I was so irritated I just agreed, so ready to leave. Then she spends the next 15 minutes trying to up sale me and tell me all the reasons why I need whatever she's trying to sell. My gel color just totally peeled off the day after I got my nails done, when I went back (they did have decent customer service) they fixed it and the next day same thing. I went back and explained I was having the same issue, she then charged me an extra 10$ to fix the mistake THEY did to "upgrade" it to the dip powder, she said my nails were too weak which resulted in them just totally peeling off which is NOT true. I will never go back here, they didn't even fully take off my cuticles, they were rough from the 2 seconds of "filing" they did, they never shaped my nails and left them looking like spongebob. I'm not exactly sure what people were saying, but I was very disappointed. I don't understand how they can allow customers to leave with the quality of work they perform. The last time I went in one of the nail ladies left hair in the gel nail polish. And once she put it in the gel-soak off machine it was too late to take it off. She did this on 2 of my nails. Horrible nail product quality!! Very disappointed! I went in the salon on my birthday and i had gels done on my nails. Now everyone knows that gels are supposed to last a long time and not suppost to chip, unless you do some crazy work. Well, after just half a week, not even a week, my nails started chipping and the gels came off. I did not even pull it off, the gel just simply came off. Not only is their gel quality HORRIBLE, but I also got acrylic nails done a couple months ago and the same thing happened, they started turning yellow and chipping after just a couple of days. Full set acrylics + $5 cuticle trim. They didn't even trim it right and instead just soddered my cuticles down. She actually cut me on 2 nails and I was so upset later to find out that she could've put something on there to stop the bleeding, but she just left it there and didn't even clean off the blood nor did she offer and it just kept bleeding. They didn't have the mint/turquoise color nail polish I was looking for and kept insisting on gel which is $13 more. NO thanks. Pedicures here are not worth it. They don't really do much. $5 extra callous remover without even removing all the callous. On top of that the massage isn't that great either. I'd rather pay $5 more somewhere else to get a spa treatment feel. All in all, I've had better. If I'm going to shell out $50-$60 for my full set & pedicure, I should be happy with the outcome. I usually go to a nail salon in the San Fernando Valley where I go to college, but I am visiting my parents in Fullerton & this salon is near their house. I went to the salon to get my old acrylics taken off and new ones put on. My usual nail technician is Tina who does a phenomenal job, but because I forgot to make an appointment and this was a last-minute thing, I decided to get my nails done by Jennifer. She did not understand that I wanted my nail tip to be a little lower set on my nail so it wouldn't break. Jennifer and I had a lot of communication problems as far as what I wanted on my nails. It got really frustrating after a while to the point that I grabbed the clear tip and showed her exactly how I wanted it done. Other than that, her work was pretty good, she doesn't over-load the powder so it really looks like a natural nail. However when she was painting on my black tips, she was a little sloppy and there is a small black line she failed to erase with acetone (granted, I didn't notice till I stepped out in sunlight). It was $39 for acrylic nails w/ black french tips & a silver smile line. They did not charge me for nail removal. Overall it was an OK experience. Next time I am making an appointment with Tina or just waiting and going to my usual salon in the SFV...... read more
