They were very careful with my furniture, wrapped and protected everything. With that in mind, it took about twice as long as the estimate was to move everything. even though I packed everything myself. with double drive time (required by CA law) it ended up being over 12 hours, so the final charge was almost twice as much as the estimate. and there was only 1 container with dishes that was completely shattered. They probably dropped it or dropped something on it, but didn't say anything. I only found out later at night when I was unpacking it. Otherwise they were awesome. They did not waste any time. They were working very hard all day. so if you get an estimate, double it, as with all the wrapping and protecting your stuff, it takes much longer. They offered me an option not protecting my stuff, but I chose to have it protected.

They handled and wrapped items with care and made you feel at ease that everything was going to be safe and secure. They disassembled furniture as needed and reassembled it on site. One great detail, they laid down plastic protectors everywhere to keep things clean and tidy where they would be stepping. And cleaned up all the plastic wrap/coverings, cardboard and tape they used while packing and unpacking. They literally took care of all the heavy - and even the light - lifting! We had a challenging move from downtown S.F. to Berkeley, to a house that is in the middle of multiple construction projects. Yet they made everything feel easy. I had gotten food poisoning the day before and we were stressing because we hadn't yet finished packing. But it was no problem--they loaded the truck with the items that were ready to go while we packed the rest. Make sure to ask for Joseph and his team (Fernando and Victor). They arrived a little early so they'd be ready and were the utmost professional while also being a warm and friendly team of guys. We would have them over dinner any time. Because of Joseph I'm now convinced that moving is both an art and an athletic feat. We had a recliner (100lbs) and a treadmill (200lbs) that were too wide to go through a doorway--and yet he maneuvered them effortlessly through without a scratch on either.

When a week before our move we needed to change a date by two weeks because of construction delays, that was not a problem. When at the last minute we asked if we can add a piano to the list of moved items, that was fine as well. But most importantly was the care the guys took with our items! They wrapped every piece in the soft blanket and added plastic wrapping outside to keep in place. They stacked items in the way that nothing would get damaged. On delivery, they were on time and moved everything to designated rooms and assembled everything we needed! No scratches or damages in the house when moved out or moved in! I had Carlos and his team assemble our European style kitchen cabinets. They were made of finished…read morewood and lacquer cabinets. We sent our kitchen assembly instructions ahead of time to make sure they were aware. My overall sense is that Carlos is fairly capable and experienced but either his team or him are not as careful as we had damages to our finished wood toe kicks and our lacquer cabinets looked like they had been dragged over nails as they were being assembled. I didn't appreciate that they made 0 mention of it at all and I had to point it out. As the homeowner, I essentially had to baby sit them for 5 days through the install since it felt like they were incapable / unwilling to read the kitchen cabinet installation instructions in detail and I caught several mistakes early on during the cabinet assembly that made me hesitant to leave it unattended. Carlos's attitude was particularly bad through the entire experience as well. Always made it seem like we were inconveniencing him or being too nit picky even if we caught some mistakes. At one point, he even threatened to quit after the assembly but before the installation simply because he had underestimated the complexity of the project. We did have a 1 day delay due to some plumbing / electrical issues but that's pretty typical as far as kitchen cabinet installations go AFAIK. In the end, they were able to get all the kitchen cabinets installed, albeit with a lot of effort from my end due to the more custom nature of the project. The price was affordable and the work was solid (minus the scratches) but for me the bad attitude wasn't worth it.

I ended up going with Same Day Dumpster and was very pleased with the experience. Erick was by far the quickest to reply, his responses were the most professional of the bunch, and his pricing was well defined. He was a little bit more expensive than some of the other quotes that came in, but the quotes I received from other providers were pretty nebulous and seemed to have other strings attached that could potentially drive the price up beyond the quoted price. In any case, I had the dumpster in and out in one day, but Erick did offer the flexibility to keep the dumpster on site for multiple days if needed without driving up the quote, which I appreciated. The drop off and retrieval were both right on time as scheduled by Erick. No issues! PS - If you live in a townhome complex situation where it's hard to see / identify street numbers, I would advise making sure to be on site when the dumpster delivery comes in. If I hadn't been there to direct the driver, the dumpster would have ended up in my neighbor's driveway.

Cannot say enough good things about Pro Movers! So many variables that I have to mention: First off my original moving company I reserved cancelled on me last minute. On a Saturday for that matter, so I called 4-5 different moving companies and Pro Movers was the only one that answered and was willing to move us last minute. K.P said they were currently doing a move with another customer but said if I was flexible he would work me in later in the afternoon. So after being a nervous wreck I get a call back saying the guys finished a move early around midday and they were headed my way. Sean and Castadara showed up to my sister house in Albany ( I had a portable moving PODS) delivered in front of my sister house. The emptied the Pod and put all my belongings in their truck and took it to a storage facility. At the storage facility the guys filled the storage unit I rented. The guys filled my Unit with furniture and boxes like a jigsaw puzzle, everything fit in the unit with no room to spare. Very impressed. My day started very stressful because the original movers canceled on me, we are extremely thankful that Pro Movers came through. The portable moving pod was getting picked up that same day, so it was imperative that our furniture needed to moved that day. They ended been cheaper than the original movers I had reservations for. Go figure. Thank you to the crew and management. I already reserved them to move me to my apartment once it's ready. read more

Yesterday (May 5, 2018), I sent this business a quote request. For a job that I already had multiple $300 and under quotes from other movers on Yelp, the owner of this business sends a quote for $675 (and the quote was sent many hours later); so, I sent a remark that so I should not take the $275 quote and should take his $675 offer. Then the explicitly threatening messages started, and I mean explicit. Do you really want a business owner who explicitly threatens someone over quotes, even though he knows the messages are being archived, to know where you live? Suppose he asks for too much money at the time of delivery and you refuse to pay. Now he knows where you live, and such a person is capable of anything. I will be taking further steps in this regard, but watch out. read more

I managed movers for 10 years in SF and so I'm always curious to see what I'll get when I hire a team to do a job. Now I have found my "FOREVER movers!" Pro Movers!!!! Not just on time - EARLY! Not just considerate - genuinely friendly! Our furniture was wrapped in plastic and carefully stowed on their truck with moving blankets protecting the pieces from dislodging during transit. I have never had such a great experience with a moving company as I did with Pro Movers! They were on time, super careful with my furniture (used blankets and wrap), were very professional, and couldn't have been nicer. I had lots of artwork, large and small, and many fragile items and everything arrived safely, without a scratch. They were even able to get some large furniture through some skinny doors! A 2bd plus living room move took around 5 hours total for a 2 person team. We had a pretty messy house going with dogs running around but they were very sweet and worked swiftly. It's a flat $115/hr with cash, and no hidden fees or other random charges. They don't charge for drive time if it's under 10 min away. I also had weird stairs in the place I was moving out of and they were able to take everything down carefully and successfully! I didn't ask them to Wrap every single thing. Now wrapping the couch and tv was fine but they would stack every box about 3 high wrap it around several times which was unnecessary they would stack all the larger bags and wrap them as well. The rate was also good based on other replies I received. What astounded me the most was the workers. They were SUPER fast packing, bringing the stuff to the truck, and unpacking. They didn't speak English and used a translator on the phone, but they were actually pretty good with reading the words in the box, such as master, living room, garage, etc. They had runners or whatever they're called on the stairs so they wouldn't damage the stairs. They're careful with walls and I didn't see any damage on the wall, too. I'm so so so impressed with them, how quick the movers were, and how respectful they were. I would definitely recommend!
