A family member recommended Pro Movers to me, as she had used them in a number of moves. With short notice they were able to accommodate me by scheduling the service to take place on my move in date. I was prepared to take off work for the previous company I had scheduled because they could not fulfill the request for a Saturday move. There were three guys total. I was moving from a one bedroom apartment to another approx three miles away. They completed the move in under three hours. They were polite, professional and handle my items with care. The service does include disassembling and reassembling bed frames but I had already begun breaking down my bed before they arrived and declined the reassembling service. WOW, I will NEVER go with anyone else or move myself again! When I tell you they were fast, great price and the value was amazing- I can't believe I've been moving myself this whole time! I was panicking and trying to decide how I was going to move, and was about a week before the moving date, calling around and getting NO response, or no availability. Chico was amazing- took my call and had, after sharing the basics about my space, he gave me an estimate, date and time and had the move planned in less than an hour. It literally let me breath and rest and focus on the other aspects of moving. He came the day of with all the stuff- truck, moving instruments, bubble wrap, movers- things I hadn't even thought of in my own move. After my experience on 09OCT21 with Pro Movers, I don't think I can use anyone else. It went unbelievably smooth. I called 2 weeks in advance and wasn't given vague responses. I was provided with my pick up date/time based on my prefer and the movers arrived on time--which is always the most stressful part on whether they show up or not timely. The two movers I had were Sean and Jack. They were both very helpful, and it was evident that Sean had a ton of experience on the best way to move different types of furniture. Jack was very friendly and also did a great job. The rate offered for the time was fair, and it was a 2-hour minimum. The only unique thing about my move is that it was within the same complex, so I didn't have to deal with loading things into the truck and driving to another location--it was mainly using the shrink wrap, sheets, dollys, etc. Overall, I would trust using them again. I paid in cash and was provided an invoice and no items were damaged. read more

A day or two before my moving date, I called to let him know that my packing didn't go as I had planned. Chico told me not to worry, that we would work things out, which they did. The movers themselves were professional, kind and hard working, but our move yesterday was a disaster. We scheduled a move for 9-10am, because Chico said this was the only slot available. When I checked in about the move in the morning, I was told we were on the schedule for 1-2. Nicole was really apologetic and said they would be sending two extra guys for our trouble. The movers did not arrive until 3pm. The two men we were promised were not professional movers, but the owner's teenage sons. They were fine and no trouble, but not at all what we were expecting. And really it was only annoying because we were now 6 hours late on a move that we expected to be done by noon. When the owner asked me for a yelp review, I told him about our problems with the day and that the whole move was 6 hours late. He responded with a string of text messages that were defensive and aggressive. He did not apologize for the massive error and he also blamed me for having to fire his own sons? I've never had a better moving experience than I did with Pro Movers. They arrived early with plenty of movers to move my 2 bedroom apartment. I lived in a 3 floor walk up and they were really careful with my stuff (and quick) all while being super personable and professional. They even removed my large TV from its mount and removed the mount for me. I was doing the whole move by myself and told them so when booking because I was worried, to which I got a "Don't worry about anything, we got you." My move was smooth and I felt safe with the guys. Best movers EVER! I was super desperate for some help with a wine fridge that was way too heavy to bring up to my second floor apartment. It was delivered late in the afternoon so I thought I was going to have to let it sit outside all night until I could find some help bringing it upstairs. Pro movers were able to come last minute AND without gouging me for needing help at a later hour (one other mover tried to charge a $300 "last-minute' fee on top of the regular fee). They brought the fridge up very carefully and even helped me put it together! I'm so happy I found pro movers! They were extremely quick to show up, reliable, careful, and extremely nice. Let me tell you something, these men are amazing! I have never actually dealt with hiring a moving company, always decided it was easier to go at it alone or with friends. But this time, due to me being 8 months pregnant, we decided to get help. Thank goodness we found these guys on yelp. They were so efficient and FAST it blew me away! I can't believe how fast things were just disappearing out of our place into the moving van! They asked multiple times to make sure they were taking the right stuff and not just grabbing stuff that wasn't sanctioned to go and they were so patient with me and my family. They had such positive attitudes and were just honestly really all around nice guys. They know exactly what they're doing and they don't just stand around staring at the ceiling or hanging out outside. They handled all of our baby stuff with care and didn't break or mess up anything! I was just so happy with the job they did I wish I could throw more money at them because they deserved it. We hired these guys to help my bf move his bedroom to our new 1-bedroom apartment over in Alameda. I hope I'm remembering the names correctly, but they sent Pancho, Shaun, and Hassan for the move! We only initially hired 2 guys but they had the 3rd one come for free of charge! These guys showed up promptly, they were masked up and all ready to go! The downstairs neighbor from the apartment my bf was moving out of was extremely rude to the movers cursing and yelling at them not to block the driveway (the kid has issues.... he always causes problems) and the guys handled it smoothly. Honestly if it were me...... hahahahahaha that guy would have wished he never opened his mouth tbh! Also, they moved our dresser which was already broken and it was our own fault we didn't warn them about the faulty drawers so it broke off when they were moving it into the van. Wasn't their fault at all and they were super apologetic for it. We really didn't mind because we were planning on trashing it anyways once we moved to the new place. I told them this and they offered to dump it for us for free :) that was nice of them to offer! They were quick, efficient, and ready to work! Only took them about an hour and a half since our new place was only 10 minutes away.. but they do require 2 hours minimum charge. Had a great move with this company. They showed up early with masks on. They were super courteous, helpful, and timely during the move. I wasn't completely boxed up and ready by the time they arrive and they were totally accommodating helping package the remaining items. Biggest props to their ability to fill up the Uhaul. I ended up with a smaller Uhaul truck then originally planned for. I was super worried that my one-bedroom apartment amount of stuff wouldn't be able to fit in a 10 footer Uhaul. BUT they did some amazing Tetris magic with my furniture/boxes and it all fit nicely/safely. They ended up finishing the move in less than two hours. I'm sorry to write this but my move was not a five star experience and people should be aware because I wish I had read about experiences like mine when I chose this company. First the good: responsive on text (but the person responding was not directly involved in the move), the lead Chico was experienced and very hardworking (consistent positive praise in all reviews has been Chico), my house only had a few scuffs on the walls. Now the problems: I asked for 3 men. The other two were nice and careful but they had to be directed by Chico on what to do. If they were not directed they didn't seem to know what to do with their time. They did not seem to know basic Ikea dis/reassembling so either they just brought Chico tools or they just hung around while my husband* reassembled 2 beds and an outdoor table because Chico was busy with something else. Chico suspected I underestimated my move (which I apologized i didn't mean to do) so he brought a 4th guy, but said he wouldn't charge me. Good -- because the 4th guy was a kid who really didn't know what to do nor want to be there. He had NO experience and would carry one item at a time to the van. I ended up moving stuff along with them because it was too painful to see how slowly they were going. Also: a few furniture were broken (some were fixed by Chico), screws are still missing so I need to get a new screw for a kids table that is sitting disassembled. I want readers to know the experience was very stressful and I was disappointed because I was expecting more based on the reviews. I liked all the guys so I want to be clear: as with any business it is not all the worker's fault, it is on the OWNER/BOSS to train their employees well, pay them better, and ensure quality. One star for Chico and one star for the nice guys but nice doesn't help with the move. *The owner of this business is to blame for this review.* read more
