I was moving from a two-bedroom apartment (Dublin, CA to Danville, CA) filled with fragile furniture, glass pieces, mirrors, artwork, and a massive 9 foot tall, extremely heavy mirror. I was moving things from a 10x10 storage unit into a 1 bedroom apartment about an hour and a half away, with 1 stop to pick up a couch along the way. Total time took about 5.5 hours. On the other hand, things got weird when it was time to pay. I didn't appreciate feeling pressured when they tried to tell me that a 30% tip was the standard. I gave them 20%, which I felt was a good tip and standard for a good job. I was also pressured into writing both a Yelp and Google review, leaving them 5 stars as they hovered over me. On the day of the move, the team arrived right on time. The foreman, Guillermo, assessed our situation and calmly confirmed my suspicious that we'd need two trucks (this my error, not OnTrack's). Before I could panic, he had contacted his team and we arranged that ours be a two day move. Guillermo's team wrapped our furniture and had the truck loaded swiftly. At the new house, we had a few of our family help direct traffic. I'd labelled every box with a color-coded room label and the team got everything to the proper room. On day two, Sammy -- part of the original crew -- acted as lead and we repeated the process. Here, a number of items still needed a bit of packing and his team had everything done in record time and -- bless them - marked the boxes for the proper room destinations without prompting. As I now unpack, I'm finding everything in excellent condition and couldn't be more grateful. We'd heard stories about moving nightmares and wanted to share a happy ending. Life happened and they responded swiftly and for same day service. I was beyond grateful. My move was from a 650sqft apartment, 90% items boxed and ready, no heavy items except one cal long mattress, and o did ask for the closet l (very small) to be boxed with the wardrobe boxes they provided. The new location was 2.4 miles away. PROS: *Timely responses via Yelp * Reasonable price (especially if you pay cash $109/hr with 3hr minimum). *This price included two movers and they arrived promptly at 3 pm. *Brought their own moving truck and all the supplies * I was compensated for the mishandling of my expensive plants. CONS: * Prolonging the service to get more money. The movers had dollys and started only moving one box at a time. * Careless about your items. I had expensive plants that were smashed, ripped, and taken apart. * Moving boxes were not taped at the bottom causing items to fall out. I would have recommended the company had they tried to not gaslight me. I take great care and detail in moving as I've done it countless times. The movers changed around my boxes and then didn't tape them causing me to have items smashed and destroyed. The movers tried putting blame on me. I didn't appreciate that the intentionally went slower so that I would have to pay more for their services.
