My husband, Alok, and I hired Shannon for a move from Millbrae to San Mateo. Consolidating four floors of house to a one bedroom condo is no joke. These guys at Shannon are are fire. Bomb service. Superlative company, a well-oiled, seamless operation. They go waaaay beyond, planning and execution on point. Never phoning it in, never going through the motions. Awesome guys, approachable, friendly, super attentive to detail. They're humble, kind .... and dialed all the way in! As promised, showing up at 9:am on the dot, proactively asking questions, e.g. one of our bedrooms is a massive walk-in closet with umpteen articles of clothing and accessories, rows of shoe trees ... with an island of dressers in the middle of the space. A lesser mortal would've run out screaming :-) The guys are so darn good, not only did one of them assess the situation, another guy ... and yet another--estimated we'd need a minimum of fifteen hanging wardrobe boxes (oops, my bad: I never showed them my coats closet :-) They instructed for how we should call the following day to arrange for someone to drop them off. Next step, they looked at the folded clothes in the other three closets, and so forth. They're one step ahead and thoughtfully, for the next trip in Dec., they left not only boxes, but also half dozen rolls of packing tape--and will charge according to how much we use! We had four guys take apart and then assemble a complicated mango-wood canopy bed, with nuts, bolts screws. They carefully lay each piece of furniture--leather sofas, wood tables and chairs, Tiffany lamps ... all of it securely wrapped in blankets before loading and unloading. What is their sorcery?Are they wizards? Magicians? How do they do this? In awe. I loved their cooperative conferring with each other, multiple grand, concerted efforts; never did I see one guy playing Lone Ranger off doing his own thing without the other knowing what was up. It was group job, orchestral. They are pristine in the methods, precisely laying down the rugs before putting the heavy furniture on it. Daaaamn. Their commitment to the project. I was nervous before they came and seeing how they operate put me more at ease. I love their communique, the professionalism, timeliness--we reached out to them two days before Thanksgiving and got an immediate automated scheduling response, followed by the owner, shout-out to Keith confirming that same night! Wow. They'll be back next month for phase II of our move! Over decades, I've used several moving companies for my homes and offices. For all they do, their prices are more than reasonable. We've used Shannon moving company twice in the past three months. they wrapped everything safely, took care of fragile items and put it carefully in a storage unit. We ask that labels on the boxes face out so we could see what was in each box. They did this. Another important point was that we asked that our mattress lay flat since putting it on his side would ruin it. They made sure they did. We hired them again when we got our new apartment. Shannon Movers helped us move from San Francisco to Oregon. We moved a two bedroom, 3 restrooms home, garage and basement. We had so many things I was overwhelmed and feeling bad about how much stuff we have. However, they all came in great spirit and ready for the job. They act quickly, put everything on the truck, we're very careful with our furniture. It was a stress free morning and we even had time to go eat in a restaurant after loading the truck. Next day our big truck arrived in Portland with our things they worked fast again, helped us put all the boxes in their respective room, build bed frames, set dining table. We were worried about our new floors and carpet and they listen to our concerns and made sure to protect both. They are really hard workers, totally worth the price. I moved from 3rd floor in San Francisco to Las Vegas in December 2023. Three guys packed all my stuff that I didn't pack, and 2 guys unloaded in Vegas. They did a wonderful job, and I didn't have to load or unload anything. It cost $5700, but it was so well worth it. The guys really worked hard. The move included the gas for the truck, a hotel stay, and loading and unloading the truck. They did an excellent job and well worth the money since I didn't have to carry even 1 box. read more

Team Shannon was flexible and accommodated our moving needs. Move 1- Piano across the city. They sent 2 trucks and 5 crew members to finesse the piano down 2 flights of stairs, into the truck and up a flight at the other end. The crew asked if we wanted to load our boxes into the trucks and take advantage of the empty box crossing the city. That saved me the headache of renting a box van. It had not occurred to me they would send 2 giant trucks. That was a score for sure! Move 2- Hustle all our boxes off to storage while we lived in a staged home. Super fast and efficient crew. They didn't like some of my furniture packing and added more blankets to be double sure all was safe. Move 3- Storage to new home after escrow closed. Again, they sent a large crew and two smaller trucks to access the tight driveway at the new place. If we had to move again, Shannon would be my first call. Do yourself a favor and get prices from 2 or 3 others for comparisons. Their service and flexibility outshone any others I have encountered. The office responded to our request (and follow-up communications) promptly and was very transparent about timing and estimation of the cost (which ended up being close to the actual cost, and was reasonable for 3 movers). The movers were very thorough, careful, and efficient in packing, moving, and unpacking all of our items, despite the multiple stops and many items. They were also very attentive to the many moving procedures/regulations at all of the locations and checked with us about where we wanted all the items to be placed, which saved us a lot of work and stress on our move! read more

Shannon Moving, among others, was recommended to us by our apartment manager. After reviewing several Yelp pages and requesting quotes, we decided to go with Shannon Moving since they provided the most thorough quote and detailed information compared to the others. We scheduled our move a few weeks in advance and the team answered all of my questions via Yelp and email, including our request to have a COI (certificate of insurance) for our apartment building. I checked in with them a week before to confirm, and all looked good. When I went to approve the estimated invoice, I noticed the price was higher. After clarifying, it seems our original quote was the weekday rate but we were moving on a weekend, so it was $15/hour higher, but this didn't match our quote. Ultimately they honored the price given to me on our original quote, and I appreciated their integrity on that! Finally, they called me the day before to confirm final details. The morning of, they showed up right on time and worked with our building concierge to find the optimal location to park. 3 guys led by Juan were efficient and professional, wrapping everything that should be wrapped and loading things carefully into their large van, down 22 floors using the service elevator. Since most of our stuff was in boxes already, my wife and I didn't have much to do while they moved things, so they allowed us to help move some boxes down throughout to speed up the process a little. We left around the same time and arrived at our new place around the same time, and they were efficient in moving things in. Total it took 5.25 hours from SF to San Jose including the drive time and moving out/in. We ultimately ended up on the higher end of our original quote, but it was fair because we had more stuff/boxes/desks than the average 1BR move. When it came to payment, it was easy via credit card on their tablet, and Juan didn't pressure us to tip, though we gave a generous cash tip, of course. It was a smooth experience and I'm so glad we went with Shannon Movers (not to mention to have hired movers this time instead of moving ourselves). Moves within San Francisco are at best challenging and at worst difficult. No exception here. I moved from a building with no legal parking adjacent to building, so an SFPD motorcycle officer moved the drivers around the block. The Shannon movers were courteous and complied with the officer and hand-trucked furniture to truck located on next block without getting a citation. The building I moved to is in the middle of downtown and again, parking was half a block away. Movers unpacked and hand trucked furniture to building and professionally interacted with door personnel awaiting my arrival. This is my second residential move in 7 years with Shannon Moving. My first experience was very good, and so I hired them again for my recent move. My experience this time was phenomenal. During my initial consultation, and at key touch points along the way, Fiachra was warm, helpful and knowledgeable. On my moving day, my move team consisted of Hugo, Memo and Juan. These guys are the real deal. Equal parts strong, careful, kind and very hardworking, Hugo, Memo and Juan remained professional, friendly and attentive throughout my 13+ hour move, which included loading the contents of my storage space onto the truck first, and then moving my belongings down a steep flight of 36 stairs. They carefully shrink wrapped all cabinets and took great care. The move also included some challenges, including moving some very heavy and large cabinets, and getting a sideboard up a very compact spiral staircase. Their determination to "find a way" and persevere was impressive. They also disassembled and reassembled a light fixture to enable placing a tall cabinet just beyond. Shannon also offers affordable monthly storage for items you wish to hold onto that won't fit into your current space, which can be loaded onto your truck for your next move. This happened to me 7 years ago, and along the way I had a few questions about the contents of my storage space. This is a "TOP RATED" moving service ! I was referred by my neighbor. I moved from a Loft with a ton of stairs . I needed help packing & taking some of the furniture apart to get it out of the unit . The movers came completely prepared with the right tools , blankets & boxes . These guys worked as a team & even called the office to send another mover to help . So that was the move out . Then there was the transfer of belongings in a NEW apartment on that same day . OMG ! By that time it was windy , cold & foggy . And the apartment was only 700 square feet , 1 bedroom.
