Kora was great! We used them for a long distance move recently. The team were all very friendly and helpful. This is the second successful move I had, the first being in 2021. We could not have moved up in one day and are so glad we used their services. We would easily pick them again for our next move! read more

Carlos and the team are the absolute best movers you will ever encounter. They are responsive, creative and tireless. Full stop.

The Koro team was able to move furniture from San Francisco to the peninsula with same day notice. Extra care was taken to wrap the piece in blankets, plastic wrap and packing tape so it arrived without a scratch! They studied the entrance and worked out a plan to get a very large piece into our residence. Overall, a great job! read more

From start to finish, Carlos and his team were thorough, efficient, and careful while moving my specialized Gyrotonic and Pilates studio, including our unique equipment. Circumstances required a planned 2-phase, multi-location move, and Kora didn't blink. They disassembled and reassembled some equipment, navigated long narrow stairs with bulky equipment that could not be disassembled, packed office and studio supplies effectively, thoughtfully used the elevator, and took great care with the plants. Listening to instructions is one of the team's standout qualities. Phase 1 of our move was delivered ahead of schedule, and they came in fairly close to the initial estimate -- which was well below other estimates I received that were at least $1000 more. This is my second move using Kora Moving, and they are now the ones I trust with my unique equipment. read more

Was able to talk with Carlos from Kora Moving who definitely broke down the moving costs and the time it would take for moving services. I would recommend for those if you needed to move things also within the household (large items/cabinets/etc. and are not able to move them yourself). The staff are professional and helpful. Thank you! read more

Prompt and clear response with good prices and availability. Was able to schedule ahead of time.

I had engaged Kora Moving for packing and moving my one-bedroom apartment locally from San Jose to South San Francisco. Carlos was responsive right from the time I had put my request on Yelp. Got all the clarifications I needed. The move itself was seamless. The team arrived right on time. I was surprised with the speed with which his team worked. Much faster than I had expected. Great value, optimized the cost to me for sure. Will use them again for sure if/when I have the need. read more

On time as scheduled. Easy to work with. But took sometime for assembling the furniture as they did not mark them while dismantling. Overall good experience. read more

Using Kora Moving 4 years later (SF to LA) was a no brainer. They gave the most reasonable estimate with the least hassle (no need to detail every item for an estimate). Again they were super responsive, set up the move over 2 days on my preferred dates, and promptly sent the required COI. During the move we were in constant communication over phone and text and everything went smoothly. They were fast at loading and unloading. Very happy with my experience and grateful for their help with my big move! Would definitely use them again for a future move if possible. read more

I paid $15,000 usd for the moving. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this service. I've been waiting for over a month to receive a closet drawer that was damaged during moving. Carlos promised to fix it and send it back, but to this day, I haven't received the drawer back. I find it unprofessional since I paid 100% of the service upon completion of the move.

They are very hard-working people and very honest. The move went through smoothly. They were very careful with my stuff and I would really recommend and use them again . Thank you read more

They were responsive as many have said, but they were careless and hurried. He was in such a hurry to get my move done because he had another one booked soon that he would stack several boxes on his back and rush to get them to the truck. Sometimes it was a couple of feet hight with several large boxes, sometimes he would put various size boxes on his back. All of this led to several broken items. One time he was just outside and I heard something fall and he quickly said "sorry" to no-one there and picked it up and put it on the truck. He never told me that he dropped anything. Once unpacking I found several broken items and some missing items. I called him and after numerous calls he finally brought back my missing items and said he would pay 1/2 the cost of my broken valuables but never did. I kept calling he would say the check was being cut, it was being mailed, etc but it never came. I was very disappointed in their service. It made moving more stressful. read more

Kora Moving - My dining room table for 10 - Movers Near Me - San Francisco, California

TLDR: 1. They arrived late (originally supposed to arrive between 12-1PM; day of, they called to say they'd arrive at 1:30PM; in actuality arrived at 2:10 -- only because I called them at 1:50). 2. For a 1 bedroom condo to 1 bedroom condo move within 2 miles, it took them 5 hours. That is crazy! This was my 7th move for a 1 bedroom and never has it taken more than 4 hours (usually around 3!). 3. They tried to overcharge me, but I had an email with proof that there would be no hidden fees. 4. At the end, the movers kept saying it was supposed to be a 3 man crew, but they were down 1 man so the 2 that showed up worked "really hard" (specific examples below which leave me skeptical). __________________________________________________________ Details: This was my 7th move in 10 years, and there was a big misalignment in how they set expectations and the reality. I was so excited about how Carlos (I think the owner) was so on top of everything! He answered when I called and when I sent a follow up email recapping our conversation (including price, time/date, insurance requirements, etc for a ~1 mile move from a 1 bedroom condo to another 1 bedroom condo down the street from Oakland to Oakland), he replied promptly. He proactively gave me an example of who the COI should be addressed to. The red flag should have been that he mentioned on the phone 3 movers for a certain rate; in the email, he said it was actually for 2 movers. The day before the move, Jessica was so sweet and called to confirm that the moving professionals would arrive between 12-1PM (which Carlos had also confirmed). I said that was find as long as the move would be wrapped up by 5PM since my new building allows elevator reservations between 1-5PM. The day of the move, Jessica called me and said they should arrive 1:30PM. At 1:50PM, I called her back and she said they were 10 mins away. They drove onto my street at 2:10PM. Still ok because I've had moves take 3 or maybe 4 hours max in the past. The two gentlemen who did the move were nice, but definitely unlike any other movers I have worked with: -Because they were late, they asked if they could move the big stuff and maybe we could move some of the smaller stuff on our own... like two kitchen stools, a wine rack, a full length mirror, golf bags, and others... which kind of defeated the purpose of hiring professional movers! -They left some moving gear behind. -Even though we were super crunched for time, they loaded one item (a peloton bike) into the elevator and spent time checking out the view at my new place. The most disappointing thing was that the head mover made me feel like I was nickel and dime-ing them. After a 5 hour move for a 1 bedroom one mile away, he said they arrived exactly at 2 and then started charging me add ons and drive back fees. The other mover said they were late because they stopped for tacos between their morning job and my move. I am so glad I had an email where Carlos confirmed "no hidden fees". I tipped SUPER generously at 20% (per google: As a guideline, you should tip your movers between 15-20 percent of the total cost of the move for large moves and 5-10 percent for smaller, cross-town moves.). I hate to give 1 star reviews, but they really left me with a sour taste in my mouth. I just want to put this on here because this was not a 5 star move and on yelp AND google, they are a 5 star business. The movers never apologized for being late (which maybe was not their fault since the schedulers tried to book 2 small moves within the same day without a lunch break for these guys -- hence, my generous tip!), which brought this from 2 to 1 stars! I don't think I'll get any sort of refund (and I don't honestly expect one), but I'm posting this for people like me who like to see what went wrong in a move. If I were to do it again, I wouldn't call Kora. If you decide to use this moving company, make it very clear in writing the times/costs. read more

I first heard about Kora from a stager we began working with to help sell our condo. I then carefully researched Kora and was surprised to see more than 140+ 5-star reviews on Google (which is RARE for a moving company), and 90+ reviews on Yelp with 5-stars as well. They were also listed with BBB which indicated they took their business seriously. We ended up bidding three moving companies, and Kora's bid came in the most competitive. Also, Carlos (one of the owners) was the most responsive of anyone we spoke to. He was clear in his answers, quick with his responses, and made us feel comfortable with the overall process. Kora was on-time for both the packing of our things, and, the move itself. His team was led by his brother Caesar who was extremely careful with our furniture and managed the team flawlessly throughout the day. It's important to note that we were a challenging client, as many pieces of our furniture required custom-made crates for added protection. The delivery was completed without a single scratch on any of our items, and the team worked tirelessly to ensure we were happy with the move. I've moved 9 times in the past 30 years, and never had a good experience with it until I worked with Kora. We would highly recommend their team to anyone! read more

The estimate was very close to the final price. This was after I decided to move two older couches because the new ones from Macy's were delayed. That was not part of the original Estimate and yet they didn't charge more. There were also a few pieces of furniture they moved from downstairs to upstairs at the new house. I would use again. read more

I used Kora Moving services today to move from 1bd (2nd floor no elevator) to a 1bd (1st floor) apartment. I am amazed how efficient, professional, and quick the two gentlemen were. The movers arrived in the middle of the 30min arrival window that I was provided and called 15min ahead of time to confirm I'm ready to go. We managed to wrap everything up in less than 3h and that included 20min drive in between the apartments. I'd say I had a medium amount of stuff and I had everything packed in boxes and ready to go. I have 2 friends who were moving about the same time as me who opted to use different moving services as they got lower quotes elsewhere. Both of them took longer than originally quoted and ended up paying more (not to mention wasting more time). The gentlemen were very professional, easy to communicate, and once again I'm amazed how efficient they completed the job. I was alone overseeing their work (I'm a woman in early 30s), and I could have not asked for a better service! read more

I used Kora Moving twice in two years. They are really good and professional. They reached on time for the move , shifted everything without a scratch and their quote is also very reasonable. Highly recommend their moving company read more

We just had an amazing experience with Kora Moving. From start to finish, there was great communication and transparency in cost and expectations. I initially received a recommendation for this company, and decided to request a quote. Their rates were pretty competitive, and we decided to give them a try, especially since we haven't had the best experience with movers. I received a prompt quote, and constant communication up until our actual move date. On the day of, the movers arrived early, which was a great thing. They were well prepared with materials and did a quick walk-through of our place. We lived in a building that took two elevators to get to, so it was a bit tricky, but the three man team was able to navigate the elevators and pathway efficiently. And that's the best way to describe them: super efficient! They were able to pack us up and move us in great time. Not to mention, they handled our items with care (nothing broken or damaged, which is always a plus! I was very impressed and very pleased with the service. If we have to move ourselves again, I definitely plan on going with Kora Moving. read more

These guys were phenomenal. Very honest, straight forward and hard working. Our home had 3 levels and lots of heavy stuff. Carlos, the owner of the company, was part of the moving crew and went above and beyond, dropping boxes off the week ahead of our move so we could pack and working 12 hrs the day of our move to get it all done. We heard or Kora from another friend who also had a great experiance with them. We are very glad we found them. read more

This team is top class, amazing, strong, and efficient! I hired Kora to move my 2 bedroom apartment that we have been living in for 12 years to a new house we bought. They showed up on time and were very professional throughout. They first do a walkthrough and strategize about how to move what and when. We had to move a full fridge of food and they advised that we wait until the very end to turn it off and empty the food into coolers. The wrapped furniture and dismantle and reassemble where necessary. I thought I had some heavy boxes but they go and pick up three at a time and keep moving without pause! They have mad Tetris skills. It takes a lot of skill to get a couch down the stairs of an SF apartment and pack everything neatly into a truck so that it fits for one trip. Would hire these guys again! read more

I never write yelp reviews, but Kora Moving is worth it. We were originally booked with a different moving company, but due to unfortunate circumstances with that company, they suddenly had to cancel our move just 2 days before our scheduled move day. Our move was also during a time of many people moving(we almost saw a fistfight at U-Haul over boxes!), so having to find a new mover with such short notice and during a period of such intense competition with other people (including all the other people that got cancelled on by our 1st movers) was extremely scary and stressful. Thankfully, we called Kora moving. We talked to Carlos, hoping for a time slot, and he was extremely kind and accommodating. He gave us a slot just one day off from our original move day with our 1st moving company. Carlos provided friendly, patient service during a time of intense stress. On the day of the move, we had a two man team consisting of Joe and Francisco. Both of them were unbelievably kind, patient, and hard-working. We had lived in our apartment for 10 years, so there was a lot to move. Never did they complain, make a face, or express an attitude. Joe and Francisco went above and beyond. We could not have been happier with our moving team. Thank you so much, Carlos, Joe, and Francisco. We truly, truly appreciate you. read more

Kora did an amazing job with our move today. They were able to fit our move in even though we only gave them a few days notice. We coordinated with Kora to move our items into a storage pod (1 bedroom apartment worth of items) and they also hauled items we wanted to dispose of for a small additional fee. Kora had great communication throughout the process and showed up right when the storage pod arrived. The overall move took 3 hours and the pricing was very reasonable. They took great care in packing our TV and other fragile items. We couldn't be more pleased with the customer service and skill set of the two movers, Cesar and Carlos. We will recommend Kora Moving to everyone we know. They were very professional and flexible for our needs. THANK YOU!! read more

We used Kora for a small distance move from one condo to another. Let me tell you I have moved a lot past few years. Kora was the ONLY ONE company that I was beyond pleased with. Mine was sort of a short notice move. They answered late calls, made everything possible. Were really professional, made sure they did all the work properly and left the place tidy. The pace was also perfect, not slow not rushed , attentive and respectful. I used Kora Moving for my move of ~1BR a few weeks ago. They were awesome! I spoke to two people on the phone in the week leading up to our move to confirm our appointment and to coordinate moving a particularly tricky piece of furniture, and the phone calls were so pleasant - the folks I spoke to were friendly, reassuring, and funny. We had two movers come by on the actual day, and a third joined at the end because they had another move to get to after ours. It was really amazing to see the movers work; they were quick, efficient, and careful. They carried large furniture, carefully protected some fragile glass cabinets, and even took my bedframe apart in the move-out and put it back together in the new place, good as new. The pricing was exactly what we expected from their initial quote, and it was fair and reasonable. The whole team made this move easy and stress-free. We hired Kora Moving to help us move from our apartment (1bd 1bt) in Berkeley to Sacramento. Communication: Carlos, the owner of Kora Moving, was very professional from the outset. He promptly gave us a quote weeks in advance of the move and stayed in contact with us until the day of the move. Carlos got to my property before I did because I had to handle some last minute stuff in Berkeley and he was very communicative and worked with me to have my new apartment manager unlock the apartment for him and his co-worker. Very easy to talk to and extremely friendly! Efficiency and Timing of Item Movement: They arrived at around 9:30 AM on the day of the move and had everything in their moving truck by before noon. They were extremely efficient with the movement of packages in and out of the apartment. They came with a dolly, blankets, packing tape, and other items to make sure all of our items were packaged well. They also disassembled our bed very quickly and reassembled it at our new apartment. Overall, I was very satisfied and impressed with how fast they worked and all of our furniture arrived at our new place in good condition. Pricing: Carlos laid out all of the costs and variable pricing factors before we scheduled the move, before they started moving on the day of, and after the move completed. Everything was transparent and the pricing was extremely competitive and fair for the region. Professionalism: Carlos came with one other mover and they were both extremely professional. They were both respectful of our items and of the property we were moving out of. read more

They did a great job for us. It was an internal move with lots of complicated instructions, heavy stuff and moving up and down staircases.

Really great! We are getting new carpet and so I needed to move all of the furniture from downstairs upstairs so for the carpet installation downstairs. I found Kora Moving on Yelp and saw the reviews. Carlos, the owner, answered the phone when I called and worked with me to figure out a schedule that would work for both of us . They were very accommodating and communicated at every step. They even called me this morning to tell me they were about 10 minutes away. I needed to move a very heavy (300lbs) gas range from the garage to the first floor. Carlos was very quick responding to the quote request in the late afternoon, offered a reasonable estimate, agreed to come next morning 9:30-10am and they indeed showed up at 9:50 keeping me aware of their whereabouts and ETA. The whole operation runs like a clockwork. They were very careful and very quick, the whole move (old range goes down to the garage, the new one goes up into the kitchen) took 20 minutes! They moved 600lbs worth of stainless steel and had to remove (and then reinstall) the door to get the ranges through. Beyond impressive. I was initially kind of suspective of the 5-star throughout rating, especially for a moving company, you know. Now I understand why. Well deserved.
