The table service was attentive engaging without being overbearing. She answered queries and provided suggestions when needed. The atmosphere is like a sports bar but they also want to be a sit down restaurant. There was a large group using the back room-not sure if that was additional seating normally but they were a lively group. The music with the group and their DJ was a bit loud but I guess that's the nature of the weekend.

Specials the other day were $1.50 shrimp and $1 wings for Monday night football. I also got a side of sweet potato fries with honey and broccoli cheese soup with bread and butter on the side. We got grilled and fried shrimp with buffalo and cocktail sauce. We also got bone in and boneless wings. The best chicken and shrimp! Nothing we've ever gotten has been a disappointment. Cajun porkchop and sides- chefs kiss Best ever buffalo chicken dip Cesar salad good Mac and cheese is good and not dry Walleye and grouper sandwich are huge Best ever chicken strips Good burgers and not dry / nice and juicy Wings (I don't like the grilled ones) good Buffalo chick sand is legendary Perch is so good Mashed potatoes and asparagus is good Steak medallion minis are amazing with the Boursin cheese

Went to this restaurant which moved to Dyer from Harvey, Illinois maybe 30 maybe 40 years ago and…read moreit was terrific. We had a great waitress named Jennifer who took wonderful care of the eight of us. My wife and I ordered a half slab of ribs for an appetizer they were terrific. Then we shared the brick chicken. She got a special salad with it because she's not eating lettuce until they start saying that it's healthy again and the bread on the table was hot and garlic and they give you these sweet peppers that they've been marinated and are delicious and Vesuvio potatoes came with the brick chicken, which were wonderful and then we shared a giant piece of chocolate cake for dessert and somebody passed me a taste of their Keylime pie, which was also terrific. There were eight of us. Everybody had different meals. Most of them had lobster bisque soup instead of a salad. One of them had chicken soup with tiny noodles in it which they said was the best they ever had couple people had scallops over spinach, which they proclaimed was excellent and three of our people had various mistakes which they loved Maureen who sat next to me had tiramisu for dessert and she said it was one of the best she ever had so this restaurant had everything right and is an easy five star

We started with lobster bisque, which was a bit too thick and reminded me of gravy, but the bread was warm and very good. Next, we had the scallop wrapped in bacon, which was excellent. I ordered a coconut-mango margarita that was incredibly good. Our main course was filet mignon, cooked perfectly medium-rare and seasoned to my preference. The carb cake was okay. My husband had chicken parmesan served over angel hair pasta, which he found just okay--the pasta was quite bland. The Brussels sprouts that came with my steak were delicious. We finished with lemon meringue pie for dessert and were very satisfied. Overall, it was a pleasant and enjoyable date night.

I didn't have anything though except a couple of scoops of delectable gelato. I really enjoyed it going down, but afterwards my stomach was going "uuuugh, you shouldn't have done that". My brother-in-law had a plate of their salmon, an oyster, and some veggies, and was quite satisfied with it. I think it was a $39.90 pp charge though and my BIL used his reward points. So I'll leave this as a 3 star review since it sounds like it's high casino pricing here and I really don't think the value is great unless you show up reaaaaal hungrrryyyy.

The restaurant was cozy and clean and reminiscent of the best of the best, a dying breed... the Greek diners in the Midwest. My dad had a tuna plate with fruit and I had a croissant breakfast sandwich with American fries. The food and coffee were excellent. The waitress was friendly and attentive. Seems like mostly a breakfast spot and it was raining heavily the day we went so there were only a couple of tables dining. If I am back in that area you can bet I'll be stopping by Twelve Islands.

We asked for her recommendations, and she confidently shared a few options. My wife chose the stir fry, and I went with the hot beef sandwich. Both dishes were excellent--her suggestions were spot on! We were both very pleased with our meals, and the prices were reasonable. The service was great, and the restaurant was clean. We'll definitely be back!

I am a fan favorite of the lobster roll because it is fresh and you get big chunks of lobster. I will start by saying my only con was the portion sizes for the price. I was left wanting more,…read morebut the food is delicious and the manger came through for us when we were about to walk out disappointed. We wanted something other than just burgers again, so I proposed seafood. There didn't seem to be a lot of options in this area, but Dancing Marlin seemed to fit the bill and was pretty close. Before going, we looked at the menu, and there really wasn't anything my little one was going to want on the kids menu - there was no seafood for the kids, not even a basic fish and chips. He saw the lobster rolls appetizer though, and that sold him, so we got in the car and headed down. When we went to order, the waiter told us the only thing they were out of was the lobster rolls, but when we asked about the lobster gnocchi that my other son was about to order, they said they could do that, so I asked to speak with the manager. She explained that they only liked to use big whole pieces of lobster for the lobster rolls, and that is what they were out of, but had the smaller pieces they normally used in the gnocchi dish. I asked if she could do the lobster rolls with the smaller pieces, and she confirmed with the chef so we were back in business. The food was all excellent. I had the seared ahi and it was delicious, but was just a small portion for my liking. The scallops my wife had were delicious, but for $38 it was only 4 scallops. Maybe kids who live around here don't want fish when their parents do, but you should at least have a kids portion of fish and chips, or some fried shrimp on the menu for them. I'm not going to order a $27 fish and chips portion for a little kid, but he also didn't come to just eat chicken nuggets or buttered noodles.
