We were very overwhelmed with the process of preparing our home for sale and the moving our household of 24 years. I dreaded yet another important decision - selecting a mover! So many companies in our area, so I looked to customer reviews to guide our decision. Thank you Yelp! Called Prince Movers for a moving estimate and the owner, Jon, was able to schedule an on site appointment right away. His experienced eyes spotted items I had forgotten that needed to be moved. Prince Movers were also flexible with my moving date. We had a date on the calendar, but our new home closing was postponed by 3 days. Jon was very flexible in working with me to reschedule our move date without a reschedule fee. His estimate matched up with the final actual fee paid. Moving day could not have gone any smoother! Prince Movers showed up promptly, did a familiarization walk through, well protected all door pathways and quickly went to work. The moving crew led by Carlos were efficient, careful with all of our belongings and worked with a polite, friendly attitude. I was impressed with how quickly and thoroughly each piece of furniture, including some worn kitchen chairs and precious family antiques, were individual wrapped in heavy moving cloth and then taped. The crew assisted in identifying additional items that I had missed to be packed into the truck. As they finished the pack up and discovered I still had a few cupboards that needed to be packed they dove right in, packed them up and eliminated our need to do it later. Traveled over an hour to our new home and unpacked with the same care as they packed the truck. Crew was helpful in asking where items went if unmarked and were key in making a major life changing event for us into as stress free day as one could imagine. Well done crew! This was my first time moving in the U.S., and I couldn't believe how lucky I was to find such an incredible company. My moving team was led by Franklin, along with his partner, and they were both absolutely amazing. They showed up on time, worked efficiently, and treated all my belongings with so much care and respect -- as if everything belonged to them. The packing process was extremely professional. All my fragile items were wrapped with thick moving blankets and foam padding, and everything was secured perfectly. For my clothes, they even brought special wardrobe boxes so everything could stay hung and organized during the move. All my smaller items were carefully packed into boxes, and nothing was damaged -- not a single piece. At my new house, the entryway was too small and some furniture couldn't fit through the door. I was so stressed, but the team handled it flawlessly. They carefully removed the door, disassembled the furniture, moved everything in safely, then reassembled both the furniture and the door like nothing ever happened. Truly above and beyond. The entire communication process was also incredibly smooth and efficient, with clear and transparent pricing -- no surprises at all. They even helped haul away some of my large renovation debris, which was a huge help! On top of their skills, they were friendly, respectful, and incredibly patient the entire time. The price was more than fair -- honestly, for this level of service, they could charge much more. I have used Prince Movers 4 times and have recommended them to others. First time was when I move houses from Fairfax to Sterling. At the time I had grossly underestimated the amount of stuff that needed to be moved and so only asked for 2 movers. Even though I could tell he thought I should have asked for at least 3 (if I hadn't been being a cheapskate), John and his colleague worked extra hard without any complaint. They moved everything with what can only be described as astounding speed and efficiency. I was moving my stuff from the 4th floor of a town house, and they had it all out of there with zero damage to my stuff or the house, even though the house has ridiculously tight stairways. They did the entire move with what can only be described as an extremely professional, military manner, with zero chit chat and always addressing me as "sir" to the point that I felt embarrassed. I am used to movers trying to drag out the clock and get paid for extra hours, and given how understaffed they were (again, my fault) Prince and Co would have been totally justified in going into an extra hour. They did not. Since this move 2 years ago, I have hired Prince Movers multiple times to help with loading large amounts of luggage my clients sometimes arrive with at Dulles or Reagan Airports (I manage large incoming delegations of VIPs). Again, they have always shown the same ridiculous level of speed, efficiency and professionalism, and my clients are always extremely impressed. My wife and I recently chose Prince Movers Inc. over several other local and national movers of our house hold goods based on the owner's and his staff's can-do attitude, the company's past performance, and the price. The owner, John Prince is an upbeat, [perfect] gentlemen with an equally positive staff that, per John's testimony do not stop working day; never once did I detect a hint of the crew being tired or failing to provide maximum care for our numerous "treasures" coming from our five bedroom, 4800 sq. ft. house (i.e., lots of stuff). John claimed that we would be very satisfied with his company, and we were. This fact was proven when he showed unwavering patience and thoughtful consideration during repeated slips to our closing date. I thought a breaking point in John's and his crew's patience would come during a Loan-Title Company snafu, which caused a three-plus hour delay before the trucks could be unloaded. The team worked magnificently until 11:00pm that night even with temperatures dipping into the teens. Lastly, his pricing is very competitive and more than reasonable. John and his crew charge by the hour; when you consider the continuous pace to which they work results in a very fair compensation. John continued to cite we would be happy with the results, and we were. From my 27-years in the military with moves to various locations in the states, Europe, and Asia, Prince Movers rates at the top, if not the best ever. If you are looking for a reliable and honest moving company, I highly recommend Prince Movers. There's a reason why this company has so many 5 star reviews! They haven't even asked me to review them. Not even a generic email asking for a review but here it is anyways. The process was seamless from the start. Karey set everything up, clearly explained their no hidden fee structure, and they genuinely offered the cheapest quote around. There was no pressure, no "if you share this or that quote with me, I may be able to do something" (like the other movers I called). On moving day, the crew, Oscar P., Orlin, Geovany, and Ernesto, actually arrived early. We were nowhere near as prepared as we should have been, which meant the team had to pack about 80% of our home. Despite the unexpected extra work, they maintained a great attitude the entire day and did a fantastic job. They were honest about everything and treated our belongings with serious care. Smaller items were carefully wrapped in paper for the boxes, and all the furniture was completely shrink wrapped for protection. The 26' truck was the exact right size for the job. The crew worked incredibly hard from start to finish, never slowing down even when they had to haul our furniture and boxes up 6 flights of stairs at the new house. We have moved 3 times in 3 years. Once across country from Texas and 2 local moves within Loudoun County. I appreciated Jon's honest approach. He walked through our home and asked about everything. The day of the move he brought wardrobe boxes for us to borrow for the day, instead of buying them. His wife was very kind and basically took care of our kids' closets. She packed all the hanging clothes and then unpacked them into their closets later. This was so helpful! It felt like I had already gotten those areas done and they hadn't even finished yet. Jon's crew brought tons of heavy duty furniture blankets and took extra time wrapping each piece and taping them up so they wouldn't get damaged along the way. His attention to detail was fantastic. After things were taped up he labeled it with either the kids' names or the room they went into. We even had these metal shelves that were such a pain to assemble, previously with other movers we had to disassemble. With Prince Movers they carried it into the truck and began stacking boxes strategically. Tetris masters!! Jon was there the entire time and made sure that things were placed where I wanted them. If he wasn't sure, he asked! As prepared as I was with this move, he brought an extra level of organization that took out the added stress of moving day! I've moved half a dozen times in the DC area, mostly relying on Bookstore Movers for fast, careful, reasonably priced moves. But this latest move wasn't in their service area, so I had to ask around for recommendations. I'm glad I found Prince Movers. I sought proposals for a full service pack and move from a number of companies, including My Guys, Mighty Men, and JK Moving. Some were hesitant to provide a binding estimate. Others quoted a considerably higher price. After weighing the proposals, I went with Prince Movers. The owner, Jon, was very responsive from start to finish; it seems like he must be on email 24/7 with how quick his replies were. For example, there was inclement weather the day we had scheduled for the packing. I emailed him in the very early morning to see if we could push back the arrival a couple hours to give time for the roads to clear. Within minutes, Jon wrote back to confirm a new time. The Prince Movers crews were punctual, efficient, and friendly both when they came to box everything and wrap the furniture, and when they came again on a later day to complete the move. They were careful and labelled the boxes accurately, which made unpacking a lot more manageable. And they worked fast. All in all, a completely positive experience. I would, without hesitation, use Prince Movers again for a full service move in this area. read more

The crew from Prince Movers was fantastic. I was able to coordinate the move via e-mail with Karey in the office, and the crew showed up on time and ready to go. They were great loading furniture in the truck and also helped move a number of items - including crates, furniture, and a washer and dryer - into a PODS storage unit we had on-site. These guys worked hard and managed to pull off a move of a three bedroom house in about five or six hours. They put down a rubber runner to protect the floor on the way in and out, and completely and thoroughly wrapped the furniture in either protective moving blankets or cellophane wrap depending on whether the items were going on the truck or into storage, respectively. There were no major mishaps during the move, and no damage to any of the items being moved...only minor damage to one doorframe molding and a bit of drywall on the way out. Which, quite frankly, I consider really good given the weight of the furniture being moved, the tight turns that had to be navigated, and the fact that the house I was vacating was nearly 90 years old with much narrower halls and doorways than modern homes. To their credit the crew pointed out to me right away what had happened, too. All things being equal I was completely satisfied with how the move went and fully intend to give them a call for my next move. read more

This is an all around 5 Star moving company and I do not say that lightly. We used Prince Movers to help us move from a small condo to a larger one in the same neighborhood. Our team of Francisco, William and Gerson were top notch. Both my wife and I are Federal Employees who have been working from home since last year. You can imagine the stress we were feeling of moving and working from home at the same time. After weeks of packing and moving little things ourselves, the big day arrived. She was teleworking from the new place while I worked with the movers at the old place. This team showed up on time and got right to work. They took very good care of our large furniture and my wife's 65 inch TV. When we arrived at the new place, they did not miss a beat of unpacking while she was working. We hired Prince Movers to move our stuff from a 2 bedroom apartment to a storage shed. The crew that came out to do the job was Daniel, Eric and Joel, and they were absolutely fantastic. We were way behind in being packed when they arrived, and they didn't miss a beat and started helping us tape up our boxes and getting them in their truck. They were pleasant, helpful and, most importantly, very careful with our stuff. We have a ton of stuff, and I was very worried about whether it was going to fit in the shed I rented, but when I asked Daniel about it he wasn't worried at all. I was already very impressed with these young men, but the magic happened once we got to the storage shed. They put all the furniture in the back, and it was packed in like a jigsaw puzzle. And they put all the things we said we might need access to at the front right by the door. If you're planning a local move, I would highly recommend Prince movers. And if you get the guys that came out to move our stuff, your stressful moving day will be far more relaxing than you thought possible. All this and the price came out a little lower than I expected. I have moved locally in the DC area 8 times in the last 11 years or so and by far Prince Movers was my best experience. Jon came out to my home a few weeks prior to the move and thoroughly reviewed what we needed to move and gave me a ton of confidence that his team would exceed expectations doing the job. And he was dead on about exceeding expectations. Max, Carlos and Marco arrived early, got right to it and navigated all of our things through two flights of stairs on our town home without literally one scratch on the walls or the furniture. They were ridiculously efficient and fast, but so very careful and conscientious of our home and belongings. They also clearly had an awesome camaraderie working together, it was fun watching them compete and laugh with each other as they worked. It honestly created a positive and fun atmosphere in what is typically a stressful and hectic time. They even engaged my kids as "helpers" which totally made their day. Their pricing was better than my last 2 comparably sized moves with different companies and frankly would have been a bargain at twice the price. I have now moved 19 times since 2005, both for the military and now with several civilian companies. I've moved myself, I've had companies hire movers on my behalf, and I've hired companies to move on my own. The experience we had with Prince Movers yesterday was the single best moving experience I've had in my life. It was so much better that I couldn't even tell you the second best experience because nothing really compares. Junior, Wilmer, Velkin, and Cristian arrived on time and were consummate professionals from start to finish. They worked hard and took exceptional care of our belongings. They were incredibly careful not to damage any of the walls or surrounding area both during the packing and the unloading. I don't think a single item broke or was damaged and I've never experienced that before even when I've packed and moved myself. I had to schedule a move in two weeks, and I was starting to panic that I wouldn't be able to get anyone. I requested a service via Yelp, and Prince Movers got back to me quickly with a quote. They made the scheduling process easy, and the quote was exactly what I was charged! The team of Marvin, Oscar V, and Joel was nothing but professional! They called and showed up exactly when they said they would; they disassembled and reassembled my bed frame at no extra charge; they had moving strips for the floors; and they were incredibly nice and thorough with both taking all my stuff from my old apartment (a little complicated with my roommates' things there too) and placing everything exactly where I needed in the new apartment. They also wrapped everything I hadn't packed in a box--from my bureau to lamps to my futon and keyboard--in plastic wrap or pads, and everything stayed in perfect condition. Easy, fast, and friendly--I knew my things were in great hands and felt no stress the entire move (which is a moving day miracle!!).
