First off the pasta was AMAZING! I just had to throw that out there because the ricotta cheese on it with lemon dust. I was 10 out of 10. The only downside to that is it wasn't enough they needed to put more in them. I would've ordered more than one that's how that was. The risotto was good but a little too salted for me and my friend. The drinks, immaculate the service and the experience of being there 1000 to 10. The waiter check to see which Dominic Henry used right or left, I've only had that experience at Michelin star restaurants. They explained the drinks and they were accurate and everything about this place was really truly amazing and I lived up to it raining for sure. Definitely work to have on a list and to go and experience the amazing high-quality and you definitely get your brain for your back.

Stopped by for a drink before grabbing a quick dinner. We were lucky--there were three seats together at the bar, and we were the last walk-ins that they seated. This is a cool little bar with exposed ductwork a wooden bar, and some high top banquettes. It's definitely has a cosmopolitan feel to it. By the time we walked it looked like all tables and seats were taken. We were greeted as soon as we came in and taken to the last three seats at the bar. Our bartender was so nice and engaging, and he made some delicious drinks. There is a food menu, and there are some delicious sounding stuff on there. I'm thinking this calls for another visit ;o)

What an incredible meal and experience. Some places really wow you with the quality of their food, others with the ambiance they create but Pretty Penny does it all. From specially curated menus and drinks, to incredibly constructed meals that punch your mouth with an array of delicious flavors that will just keep you coming back for one more bite. The creativity in creating each menu item and the execution of the staff setting your table in between each plate and explaining each flavor profile is absolutely amazing. The plates are meant to be shared usually ordering like 5-7 plates for 2-3 people is perfect!

FABULOUS!! If you are looking for a cool little spot that is very unassuming from the outside, yet packs a lot of flavor? Well here's your spot! I am not from here, but I rely on my Yelpers to steer me right when I am out of town. I saw the stars and read the reviews, so I headed over to this place. SERVICE: Fab! They are here to satisfy. They made sure I was seated quickly. When I told them I was new to the place, they explained everything about pretty penny. I explained that I have a dairy allergy and they made sure to take care of me!! FOOD: I asked them to pick since I had limitations, and they did not steer me wrong. In fact they could have stopped at the Hamachi Crudo...I could have eaten 7 servings of that $&#*! It was sooo good. They had a duck plate that the chef made sure it was non-dairy - It was delightful! And the drinks? They are great too. I still can't believe I had this in downtown Phoenix. I might just go back tomorrow night. But if YOU have not tried it..you should!! High recommend.

Went here finally last night for the first time and it was soooo bomb. Wish we had dinner here but we at before and came for drinks/small bites. Had two cocktails each, the oysters and the sourdough bread thing on the menu and wow the bread was so bomb. At 10 they closed so we went next door to their sister bar and that place was sick too. Friendly service amazing atmosphere. Highly recommend will be back.

A nice restaurant with many great & different food option on the menu. Our party of six tried every appetizer dishes on the menu of the very First Friday 2026. They were all delicious and well presented with the chef's explanations of each dishes arriving at the table. We got some recommendations from friends to try out this place -- definitely was not disappointed. The service was great, as all staff worked together seemingly to ensure no interruptions: water, wine, cocktails, or food. Inside the restaurant, its ambience was cozy & intimate. It also connected to a speakeasy bar -- we didn't have a chance to check out -- but will do next time. Since it was on the First Friday, the streets were all jam packed -- definitely a lively event. We didn't plan well so ended up paid $30 parking for the FF event. We definitely will come back soon.

This spot is a hidden gem in down town Phoenix. Such a cute retro-ish vibe that is perfect for date night or dinner with the girls. The word was fantastic and had such amazing flavors. The highlights were the Hamachi Crudo and leek risotto. But I love everything we ate. Would definitly come back and try and few more things. Service was great too - when we arrived they offered us a free glass of prosecco!

Just flew in to PHX and went to Pretty Penny last night, after checking reviews for a nice local place. They welcomed us in without a reservation, which was great, and made us feel comfortable in a high top table, across from the bar. The ambience was low lighting with kind of a moody vibe; great for a date night or casual bite. The Dinner menu was small-ish, as were the wines by the glass. We therefore opted to buy a bottle. They were out of what we wanted to purchase, so they recommended a comparable bottle, which turned out to be $65 more than the bottle we originally wanted and $40 more than what the server quoted before we opened it (awkward at check time). The food was a bit pricey, but shareable amongst the three of us and had plenty of flavor. Highly recommend the roasted beet salad and Bolognese Pappardelle. We also shared the zucchini appetizer and another pasta dish with caramelized onions.

We were super late in holiday traffic but they were waiting on us when we arrived! We know Jake from the previous restaurant that occupied this space and we were so glad to see him and have his amazing service. We enjoyed every single thing-- everything was so full of flavor and so well thought out. If this place is any indication of where the culinary and ambience scene direction is going for the future of Phoenix, we're in good hands. (The cookie cutter corporate-y hospitality groups never get the menu right and overspend on cheesy decor/outward appearance) Give me the chef's table at a place like Pretty Penny every time. Intimate, simple, delicious. Non boastful but a cozy and thoughtful environment for an experiential dinner. We will absolutely return again and again! All the best to Pretty Penny! Will have to bring my mom, her name is Penny!

This place is great! The staff could not have been nicer and they definitely knew how to handle their jobs in the kitchen and the bar! Make sure to try the fun Copenhagen sparkling teas! The steak on the steak frites was absolutely perfect but the frites were hella salty. Be warned. The wife had the fig toastini (sp?) which she enjoyed. We really loved the vibe of this place!

One of the best meals I've had in awhile. Pretty Penny did not disappoint. From the welcome cocktails to the oysters to the dessert everything was delicious. Service was impeccable. The restaurant has a cool modern moody vibe with dark colors and rich fabrics. Great option for a date night or any other night.

The food and service overall was great! We got the crudo, risotto, sea bass, and dessert. The risotto was the best thing we had! Definitely recommend! Biggest disappointment was they no not provide high chairs, I felt I didn't get to fully enjoy my meal because I was holding my 1.5 year old the whole time. Ultimately I won't be able to return unless I have a babysitter which isn't often!

I brought my wife here for her birthday. The personalized touches and top notch service made this a special evening for her. We were greeted with some bubblies to celebrate her birthday. The caviar was amazing!!! Everything tasted great. It was a nice intimate dinner and we plan to return again.

Main level/Upstairs vibe is well-lit with a true cantina bar feel. High-top tables, seats at the bar & happy hour from 4-7 pm make it ideal for some $7 drinks!!. The collection of Tequilas is GREAT. Many of which do not contain additives. I won't lie, I thought I was a big fan until I realized I didn't recognize a lot of the tequilas they had on hand. Downstairs is a whole different vibe. Custom craft cocktails, dim lighting with artwork, and more make it feel like an upscale NYC spot in your basement. I did 2 of my favorites, Paloma De Guayaba with the custom block name etched and the Baya Nueva. While in the Cantina, I had to order my friend the Basura (trash), but that wasn't the case... then again, it is served in a plastic bag, and is definitely a throwback to my early 20's of gettin' lit!!!! It was busy, but not packed, which made the service stand out more than it should have. I had to ask for water twice, never got a refill, and overall felt largely ignored--minimal eye contact, no real warmth, just an impersonal feel that didn't match the space. It felt like a place that may be a bit of a victim of its own success--popularity has grown, but delivery hasn't fully kept pace. Part of the appeal here is the permanent taco truck outside, which I know from past visits is excellent, and I love the truck's outspoken, unapologetic support for immigrants. That said, the cocktail itself was excellent. I was specifically looking for a coffee-based drink before heading to another event, and the Cambures al Estilo Foster delivered on flavor. It was tiny, though--served in a small stemmed glass, gone in a few sips. It did the job, but some may find the portion underwhelming for the price. No major complaints, but nothing pulling me back either. I'm adding a fourth star on a bit of a hunch--I'd like to think they can dial it back in if I return.

However, after attempting to reach out to the company via their online platform with no response, I feel I have no other choice but to share my experience here in hopes that it will finally be addressed. On April 13th, I sat at the bar and ordered a glass of wine. As I continued to search the menu to eventually order food the bartender had informed me of a special that gave me a bottle of wine for half the price, so I asked him to go ahead and pick a red wine. He delivered the bottle and as I started to enjoy my very first sips of the first pour, I continued to browse the menu to decide what to eat. While browsing, I noticed a roach crawling on the bar top in front of me and making its way around my wine glass and bottle before going back behind the bar where all garnishes are kept. I quietly but immediately alerted the bartender and he asked me what I would like him to do. I told him that I truthfully had no answer as I have never experienced this before but I would give him discretion to do what he thinks is right. He understood and apologized stating that there is recent construction behind the bar and they have been having an issue. He approached the end of the bar where I was sitting and pulled out a can of Raid and sprayed the area where I was and in the direction the roach traveled. This completely ruined the evening, and I asked to close out. The bartender, while polite, asked what he could do to make it right. Being quite frantic and uncomfortable in the moment, I let him know that given the circumstances I would be leaving without ordering food and would not be taking the now untouched bottle of wine. Given that I had a nearly full bottle of wine that I could no longer enjoy due to the environment, I expected the bottle to be comped or something. Instead, I was only credited for the initial single glass and was charged full price for the bottle that I left behind and did not drink. I understand that pest control issues can happen unexpectedly in the industry, which is why I didn't want to make a scene or immediately jump to a negative public review. I wanted to give management the opportunity to address both the handling of the situation (spraying chemical pesticides next to a guest's beverage) and the billing. Sadly, the complete lack of acknowledgement or response to my inquiries over the last four weeks is what brings me here. I had hoped the leadership team would take these matters with more consideration. I truly hope the next guest is able to enjoy their experience more than I did, and that management takes this as an opportunity to improve their communication and protocol.

My party and I had a reservation on a Saturday night at 9pm (when it's 13 people, what can you do). What kind of sucked though (and mainly why I'm deducting a star) is that we did wait an additional half hour to be seated after our reservation time. Our theory is that they didn't think the entire party would actually arrive, and they were not ready to accommodate us. To be fair, the restaurant IS on the smaller side, but there was 0 communication during that half hour on what was going on... which isn't really good for us either. We got the original set, and this somewhat confused me as well. The food was really good, and was definitely a restaurant that I'd go to for the experience, but for some reason some of the meats were doubled while others weren't. The double portions were really nice since our party was so large, we needed to split the food between 4 different grills (so each table got 2 grills each, feeding 6-7 people in total or 3-4 people per grill), but then we had to share the portions where we only got one serving. It wasn't bad, but to me, didn't make sense. The food was really good though; I didn't care too much about the soup, but the green sauce was SO good. Mixing a little with the soup was incredible. I thought the beef and pork were really good. I personally left the restaurant full, but many others in my party did not. I think it's a really good amount of food for 2 people, but when you push to 3+, you probably do not want to come hungry. Also--the live music at Pemberton next door is SO LOUD, you're going to be shouting at your table the entire night when you sit outside. I think I would come back if I wanted to show this place to someone who didn't live here, but it isn't on the top of my list for when I'm trying to eat out, but I will definitely consider this for special date night occasions. It is extremely expensive for what it is though. For $70+ you risk the chance of leaving not full which SUCKS.
