So on the 4th of July I invited two friends over for dinner. I sent them to grill outside while I put together a 5 cheese gruyere baked mac n cheese. Once it was in the oven I went to check on them.. and locked us all out of my apartment. Woord. We called these guys and it took them about 40-45 minutes to arrive. Not all that bad for a holiday. Then it took another 40-45 minutes + for the guy to get the door open. I've had to have this done a few times.. (shocker) it usually only takes a few minutes. Anyhow we finally got in, the mac n cheese was burned. The boys still ate it. I payed the nice man $150 for his services and we went on celebrating. If this was it I'd give them 4 stars. Unfortunately the next night when I returned from work and tried to get in my apartment my key didn't work. I could put it in the lock, but not turn it. I called them back and he came out again.. this time it to about 35 minutes. He couldn't pick it, couldn't use the under the door tool.. and after 20-30 minutes of trying he gave up and drilled the lock out of my door. I had my dog with me.. he kept barking at all the noise and banging sounds that the locksmith was making. My neighbors peeked their heads out to find out what all the noise was about. There's nothing more pleasant than a little dog yapping and a man banging on a door for half an hour around 10pm In the end he replaced my lock and got me new keys. He was done by 11:30pmish. It was beyond frustrating to come home to a broken lock, sit in my hallway forever, and not get the work done that I planned to do. The locksmith however, was friendly and polite and he made sure he did what he could to fix the situation. I have mixed feelings on what their rating should be.. read more

I chose this business because of the many 5 star reviews. Unfortunately, my experience was not the same. When I called to have a new key made for my antique lock Elliott changed his schedule to accommodate mine and arrived within 15 minutes. Excellent. He also said that the lock would be repaired and reinstalled that afternoon. Also excellent. After removing the lock however, he said that it would be "a few days." :( He forgot to replace the screw holding the knob on to the shaft; therefore, could not use nob on either side of the door for 6 days. I was concerned that the lock be reeked for a different (skeleton) key; a phone call to his business reported that yes, the new key would be different and that the entire insides of the lock would be new. Calling to confirm the foregoing after the lock was reinstalled, Elliot stated that the key design had not been changed and that the only part of the lock changed was the installation of a new spring. =================================== UPDATE Soon after posting the above I received a call from Elliott (the locksmith). He sought to make things right, obtained and tried a newly manufactured lock (it didn't quite fit) and spent his time without any charge. Unprofessional. Disappointing service. Business is more than just a good product. First Call: I was very excited to call these guys because they have 5 stars and the man on the phone was friendly, understood my needs and sounded competent. I said: "because this is a new apartment, I haven't moved in yet and have a limited window of time that a locksmith can come by and replace a lock. Are you available this Sat. between 9a-2p?" He replied, clearly, "Yes we are available. I will call you Saturday morning with a window of time the driver can be out there and the driver will then call you 30 minutes before he arrives." Perfect. Sounded reasonable and normal. I was grateful that he was available so soon. Saturday morning he calls twice before 9a saying "I am ready to come over now". WTF??? Where is the window of time and the drivers 30 minute call??? I didn't get the message until 9:30a and called him back. I said how about coming over at 10a? He started arguing with me!!! Saying: "I called three times AND texted you, I am taking my family out of town today, the truck is all packed up, what am I supposed to do, etc. etc.". I calmly explained that I never got a phone call with the window of time to be prepared for nor a 30 min. warning just a "I am ready now call" -he cut me off, raised his voice and said "I called you twice and left a text" - when I realized this was getting no where and he would rather argue than make $350+tip and delay his family trip one hour I told him, you are offering no solutions and I am going to find another locksmith. read more

I went with "Pop-a-Lock," which was only $79 and they came within 30 minutes and took fewer than five minutes to unlock my car. read more

Locksmiths are great, really. You call a locksmith, schedule an appt, they show up on time, take care of your stuff while you're on the phone with your clients, give you a good price, smile, and leave. Oh wait, not all of them are like that - but Elliott + guys at Premier are. I wish could write more in this review, but there wasn't much to it. I called Elliot on a Monday, scheduled for Tuesday morning, Lucas showed up on the dot, walked through my house I just bought that needed to be rekeyed or whatever the term is, and said okay no problem. I excused myself to work on my work stuff, and he took care of everything. I got a very reasonable price especially since they had to come out to my house, they were polite, tested everything, and had to put up with me yelling on the phone while on a conference call. Great guys. Highly recommended. I worked with these guys several times on other cars I was working on (ignition lock cylinders, door lock assemblies, etc) but this was the first time I had them work on my house. This is an impressive up-and-coming local locksmith. When I first contacted Elliott at Premier based on both Yelp and Angie's List reviews and asked for pricing to have my front gate and door rekeyed, he told me he could come out to my house for $110 or I could bring the locks to his shop and he'd rekey for $30. Amazing to have such clear options. I opted to have him come out - and the pricing he quoted for my 3 rekeyings (forgot my deadbolt when I got the first quote) was exactly what he charged, including 4 sets of keys in the deal. He was quick, courteous, and left no mess behind. A note on his professionalism - when I called to schedule the service call, Elliott politely asked if he could call me back in 5 minutes because he was in the middle of a service call with another customer. I not only appreciated how he focused on the person he was currently serving - a lesson too many have not mastered - but also that he actually called back in 5 minutes. When we arranged for a Saturday morning service call, he promised a 2 hour window between 9 and 11, and then called at 9:30 to let me know he would arrive within 15 minutes - and he did. The wife and I took the dogs to Ft. Funston for a little day trip and as we were preparing to leave I cleverly locked the keys in the trunk. I called my auto insurance provider and they connected me with Premier Locksmith. Premier dispatched a technician and Matt arrived half an hour later. He was very helpful, friendly, informative, and fast. He made a quick mold of our lock and made us a key that would open our doors (one that would start the ignition would require a microchip) so we could get in the trunk and we on our way in a jiffy. Wow. Great fast efficient affordable service. Can't ask for anything more. I locked my key in the underseat storage of my Kymco Agility 125 scooter in my garage on Friday. I called Warman Security and the guy came out to try and pick the doublesided lock for 15 minutes to no avail. He sent me to call Keycraft and a few others. Their prices ranged from $150 to $175 to come out and unlock the lock. Unfortunately Kymco serial numbers do not allow a keymaker to make a key from the number so you'd have to go directly to the manufacturer in order to make an extra key (ie I only had that one key). I waited until Monday at 12:30pm to call Premier Locksmith. I was glad that they had a guy in the area they could send immediately. They quoted me a price of $90 to unlock the scooter. This is $40 to come out or the service and $50 to unlock the bike. Then, there was a 50% ($20) discount for yelpers right now (subject to change at any time I guess). So, $70 quoted to come out and unlock the bike. One of their locksmiths, Lucas Murgida came out in 5 minutes and unlocked the bike in 2 more minutes. Then he made an extra key for $10 (kymco keys are hard to get keyblanks for and this saved me the headache of owing to the dealer, and the long wait). $80 and ten minutes later and I had my original and a new copy and the ability to ride my bike again. Lucas has worked on many scooters and knows how to open these bikes sry confidently and quickly. I was told by Warman Security and Lockworld that doublesided keys were difficult to unlock ("they're a bear to unlock" along with a $175 price to come out). It seems they need somebody like Lucas to work for them, because he made it look like taking a hot knife through butter. Delicious. Remember that locksmiths charge more to come out later in the day, so call as early in the morning or tell them to come out early the next day it's later inthe evening an there's no emergency. I'd been having problems with my Honda for the past few months and last week it finally came to a head - my key would barely go in the ignition, and wouldn't turn once it was in there. After getting some phenomenally bad advice from the dealer (was told to force the lock - which broke the key off in the ignition, achieving nothing) I was advised to call Premier Locksmith. Elliott came to the rescue quickly and got right down to work. He got to the cylinder right away, repaired the bent tumblers, ground me two new keys, and reinstalled everything. It works like a charm now. I appreciate that he thoroughly explained everything he was doing during the repair and answer my inane questions. This is my second great experience with Premier. The first time around, I needed my locks changed and they had same day services on a Saturday --very professional, up front quotation, and reasonable priced. The work was done flawlessly by Matt. Today, John came by add overall security to my house. After analysis and discussion of pro/cons, he change/added deadbolts to my two main doors. He installed high quality Schlage products. After a long rainy day I returned home to find that my deadbolt would no longer allow a key to turn. Called Premier and they had Adam out within an hour. He removed the broken bits, replaced the lock, provided keys and was on his way in 30 minutes. These guys are a life saver and are there when you need them. Elliott is prompt, professional and good at the work he does. My key broke in half on a cold foggy night in the Mission. 20 minutes after my call, the keys were made and I was on my way. Service calls after normal business hours are priced about 50% higher than normal hours, and definitely worth it when you need it. He also provided a receipt and tips on how to seek reimbursement through my roadside assistance insurance coverage, and set realistic expectations on what to expect with that process. Elliot is the man! I got down to one set of car keys and though about preventing a terrible situation. I asked my dealer about getting new keys cut and the guy behind the counter recommended that i use premier becuase it would be cheaper and get the exact same results. So, i called Elliot and we set up a time. I went to him to avoid the service call (usually 50% more) i went to his house around 7pm and 15 minutes later i had two extra keys for half the price the dealer would have charged. Elliot was really nice and showed me the process and all his accredidations. Made me feel quite comfortable for a guy who is gaining 100% security access to my car. I had a broken mortise lock. After I received the replacement parts from the manufacturer, Elliott came out and installed the new parts. But better still was that he fixed another problem we had experienced ever since the front door was installed. In the cold, wet weather, we would have difficulty locking the deadbolt because, as he explained, the mortise lock was not installed properly. The locksmith that's serviced me (twice! once for getting locked out and once for rekeying my mailbox... I'm the worst...) always arrived promptly and was very friendly. I am a chef. Opening a new kitchen for the non-profit that I work for and needed a couple of keys for my shed. I went to Osh, they didn't have the right key. I decided to call around the neighborhood as I really believe in spending my $$ locally whenever possible. I called the first locksmith on the list when I googled it. Elliott, the owner of Premier Locksmith answered the phone. He was very casual and said that if I could come within a half an hour, he could make my keys at home, that he had all the equipment. Hmmm. I thought about it for a moment, and because I really need these keys, I thought what the heck, it is daytime, I looked up the address and drove the 3 minutes away. Elliott had the garage door open with a baby gate in front. What I saw totally amazed me. Spotlessly clean floors, amazingly organized shelves, and a heck of a lot of equipment to make keys. I called out to see if he was there and much to my delight, a darling, fiesty bulldog ran out from the back, snorting the whole way toward me. He didn't have me at hello, he totally had me at the bull dog! I told Elliott that I was the one who called, and gave him the key that I wanted copied. I also told him how incredibly impressed I was at the state of his garage, and that I am a chef and how much I appreciate cleanliness and the organization of tools. While Elliott worked on my shed key, I got to know the bully boy better. He was so friendly and so darn cute, it really was too bad that my dog crazy seven year old daughter was not with me, or for that matter my husband, who totally LOVES bull dogs. Great service - showed up on a weekend in pretty short order to fix the lock on my gate that kept breaking. Was the first locksmith to actually tell me WHY it kept breaking. I had assumed it was shoddy work or inferior parts from prior locksmiths. Premier actually explained how mechanical stress kept breaking it and offered a bunch of potential solutions. It was a little expensive for a short visit, but given the quality of the work and the knowledge of the locksmith, I'll let that one slide! I'd definitely call them again. read more

Needed a door lock changed hesitant in calling locksmiths since the previous guys from other companies didn't understand how the lock worked since it's a fairly complicated, custom lock. Not only did Matt call to let me know he could make the appointment time earlier, but he completed the lock change in less time than I expected, he had no issues. I was very impressed could tell he definitely knows his locks. He let me try the new key with lock change, smooth opening no kinks. This locksmith was amazing!!! I'd been trying to get AAA to send a locksmith to fix my ignition which had thrown a tumbler. Their recommended locksmith wanted $125 more than Premiere and had a 2.5 hour wait. I called and Elliott was at my house in less than 10 minutes, fixed my cars ignition and gave me great advice on getting reimbursed from AAA for part of his charge -- even breaking down the service call on a seperate line to make reimbursement easier. While he was on-site I also had him make some keys (the ones I had been using since moving into my unit never really worked well and occassionally I would find myself locked out for 15-20 at a time). He punched them right in my foyer and they're like a hot knife through butter when I use them. I will be using Premiere for all of my locksmith needs in the future -- both my residential and my business. Friendly customer service does not get any better than this!!! read more

After purchasing our first home in April, one of the first things people recommended was to change out all the locks of your home for security purposes. I've been reading up on these horror stories where one must really do research on locksmith companies to see if they are legit and that they aren't ones who will duplicate your lock and rob you blind. I can say I was fortunate to find Elliot and his locksmith company who are awesome, professional, and trust worthy. He was able to change out all of our locks (I believe it was around 8-10 locks with 3 different keys) in one day and gave us duplicates incase I was to ever lock myself out. These guys went above and beyond. I selected them because they had the best reviews on Yelp. I then found out they had a special online promotion going on, so I was pleasantly surprised by the price. They had a lock smith to me within 15 minutes, took care of the problem, and were on their way. Then I realized I would need the broken lock (which was under warranty) to have all of my expenses paid. They went out of their way to get the lock to me. I recently purchased a used car, and the key it came with was worn down and didn't work well. The dealer could not help me, and in fact wasted a week of my time and $65 of my money, because the car had been re-keyed at some point in the past.
