About a year and a half ago -- In a brief time when we could actually stand each other (perhaps Pluto was in retrograde) -- Christina and I were dating, and at one point we exchanged spare keys. After that ship sailed, she moved to LA, and we both "forgot" to return our respective keys to one another. That moment of spiteful neglect finally bit me in the ass. Leaving the office yesterday I sensed something was missing. I patted my pockets, rummaged through my man purse and even looked inside my shoes. My scooter keys were gone. "Eh, they'll turn up tomorrow," I said to myself, and I took a cab home. Today (after riding on public trans to work like an average schmuck) I cleaned my office desk for once, bugged coworkers even more than usual, and checked Craigslist for a samaritan's post about finding my missing keys. No dice. There was only one solution -- to e-mail Christina and break the ice after 18 months of bitter silence. "Hey Christina -- hope you're well! Say, I believe I left a spare set of keys with you when you were living here in SF. Do you happen to still have them, or did you leave them in your old apartment? My scooter keys have gone missing. Thanks, Brian" --- Then minutes later I realized I could just call a locksmith and spare myself the awkwardness, and I tried to "Unsend" the e-mail. I'd read you could do that somewhere, but then I learned it'd only work after a few seconds of sending the note. (Thanks, Google.) Hours passed and she didn't reply anyway. So I called Elliot at Premier Locksmith. I was surprised it'd only cost $160 for him to drive to my bike and create a key for it on the spot (pretty reasonable to me, given the service). He showed up in just half an hour, etched out a key and even threw in a free spare. What a decent dude. I hate you, Christina. read more

So on the 4th of July I invited two friends over for dinner. I sent them to grill outside while I put together a 5 cheese gruyere baked mac n cheese. Once it was in the oven I went to check on them.. and locked us all out of my apartment. Woord. We called these guys and it took them about 40-45 minutes to arrive. Not all that bad for a holiday. Then it took another 40-45 minutes + for the guy to get the door open. I've had to have this done a few times.. (shocker) it usually only takes a few minutes. Anyhow we finally got in, the mac n cheese was burned. The boys still ate it. I payed the nice man $150 for his services and we went on celebrating. If this was it I'd give them 4 stars. Unfortunately the next night when I returned from work and tried to get in my apartment my key didn't work. I could put it in the lock, but not turn it. I called them back and he came out again.. this time it to about 35 minutes. He couldn't pick it, couldn't use the under the door tool.. and after 20-30 minutes of trying he gave up and drilled the lock out of my door. I had my dog with me.. he kept barking at all the noise and banging sounds that the locksmith was making. My neighbors peeked their heads out to find out what all the noise was about. There's nothing more pleasant than a little dog yapping and a man banging on a door for half an hour around 10pm In the end he replaced my lock and got me new keys. He was done by 11:30pmish. It was beyond frustrating to come home to a broken lock, sit in my hallway forever, and not get the work done that I planned to do. The locksmith however, was friendly and polite and he made sure he did what he could to fix the situation. I have mixed feelings on what their rating should be.. read more

I chose this business because of the many 5 star reviews. Unfortunately, my experience was not the same. When I called to have a new key made for my antique lock Elliott changed his schedule to accommodate mine and arrived within 15 minutes. Excellent. He also said that the lock would be repaired and reinstalled that afternoon. Also excellent. After removing the lock however, he said that it would be "a few days." :( He forgot to replace the screw holding the knob on to the shaft; therefore, could not use nob on either side of the door for 6 days. I was concerned that the lock be reeked for a different (skeleton) key; a phone call to his business reported that yes, the new key would be different and that the entire insides of the lock would be new. Calling to confirm the foregoing after the lock was reinstalled, Elliot stated that the key design had not been changed and that the only part of the lock changed was the installation of a new spring. =================================== UPDATE Soon after posting the above I received a call from Elliott (the locksmith). He sought to make things right, obtained and tried a newly manufactured lock (it didn't quite fit) and spent his time without any charge. While that doesn't change the facts of the initial experience, it is heartening to have his sincere efforts to make the best of it. read more

Unprofessional. Disappointing service. Business is more than just a good product. First Call: I was very excited to call these guys because they have 5 stars and the man on the phone was friendly, understood my needs and sounded competent. I said: "because this is a new apartment, I haven't moved in yet and have a limited window of time that a locksmith can come by and replace a lock. Are you available this Sat. between 9a-2p?" He replied, clearly, "Yes we are available. I will call you Saturday morning with a window of time the driver can be out there and the driver will then call you 30 minutes before he arrives." Perfect. Sounded reasonable and normal. I was grateful that he was available so soon. Saturday morning he calls twice before 9a saying "I am ready to come over now". WTF??? Where is the window of time and the drivers 30 minute call??? I didn't get the message until 9:30a and called him back. I said how about coming over at 10a? He started arguing with me!!! Saying: "I called three times AND texted you, I am taking my family out of town today, the truck is all packed up, what am I supposed to do, etc. etc.". I calmly explained that I never got a phone call with the window of time to be prepared for nor a 30 min. warning just a "I am ready now call" -he cut me off, raised his voice and said "I called you twice and left a text" - when I realized this was getting no where and he would rather argue than make $350+tip and delay his family trip one hour I told him, you are offering no solutions and I am going to find another locksmith. read more

Locked my keys in the car a couple blocks from this locksmith. I called to see if they could help; they told me 1) they were busy and couldn't get to me very fast, and 2) it would cost $150. I went with "Pop-a-Lock," which was only $79 and they came within 30 minutes and took fewer than five minutes to unlock my car. read more

The best!! I just had a guy come out to the Stonestown Galleria mall (I think his name is Matt) because I had lost my car key. The NICEST guy! He was in the middle of figuring out how to cut me new keys and was willing to give me a good deal on the copies and while he was doing that, someone returned my keys to me! He was very understanding, didn't charge me for coming by. Wow! He really put me in the holiday spirit and restored my faith in humanity. Will recommend Premier Locksmith to everyone I know and keep it in my contacts for my next fiasco! read more

Locksmiths are great, really. You call a locksmith, schedule an appt, they show up on time, take care of your stuff while you're on the phone with your clients, give you a good price, smile, and leave. Oh wait, not all of them are like that - but Elliott + guys at Premier are. I wish could write more in this review, but there wasn't much to it. I called Elliot on a Monday, scheduled for Tuesday morning, Lucas showed up on the dot, walked through my house I just bought that needed to be rekeyed or whatever the term is, and said okay no problem. I excused myself to work on my work stuff, and he took care of everything. I got a very reasonable price especially since they had to come out to my house, they were polite, tested everything, and had to put up with me yelling on the phone while on a conference call. Great guys. Highly recommended. I worked with these guys several times on other cars I was working on (ignition lock cylinders, door lock assemblies, etc) but this was the first time I had them work on my house. Hopefully I won't have to, but if I do I will definitely call Elliott again. read more

This is an impressive up-and-coming local locksmith. When I first contacted Elliott at Premier based on both Yelp and Angie's List reviews and asked for pricing to have my front gate and door rekeyed, he told me he could come out to my house for $110 or I could bring the locks to his shop and he'd rekey for $30. Amazing to have such clear options. I opted to have him come out - and the pricing he quoted for my 3 rekeyings (forgot my deadbolt when I got the first quote) was exactly what he charged, including 4 sets of keys in the deal. He was quick, courteous, and left no mess behind. A note on his professionalism - when I called to schedule the service call, Elliott politely asked if he could call me back in 5 minutes because he was in the middle of a service call with another customer. I not only appreciated how he focused on the person he was currently serving - a lesson too many have not mastered - but also that he actually called back in 5 minutes. When we arranged for a Saturday morning service call, he promised a 2 hour window between 9 and 11, and then called at 9:30 to let me know he would arrive within 15 minutes - and he did. Punctual, polite, accurate, and friendly - this is the kind of vendor you want to hire. read more

The wife and I took the dogs to Ft. Funston for a little day trip and as we were preparing to leave I cleverly locked the keys in the trunk. I called my auto insurance provider and they connected me with Premier Locksmith. Premier dispatched a technician and Matt arrived half an hour later. He was very helpful, friendly, informative, and fast. He made a quick mold of our lock and made us a key that would open our doors (one that would start the ignition would require a microchip) so we could get in the trunk and we on our way in a jiffy. The key was also affordable to replace after the insurance. Thanks Premier read more

Elliot came highly recommended by family and friends. I can see why. I called on Sunday evening about having our locks changed. He arrived first thing Monday morning. It took him maybe 20 minutes to to do the job. He was prompt and finished the work quickly and efficiently. Thanks for putting our minds at ease, Elliot. read more

Wow. Great fast efficient affordable service. Can't ask for anything more. I locked my key in the underseat storage of my Kymco Agility 125 scooter in my garage on Friday. I called Warman Security and the guy came out to try and pick the doublesided lock for 15 minutes to no avail. He sent me to call Keycraft and a few others. Their prices ranged from $150 to $175 to come out and unlock the lock. Unfortunately Kymco serial numbers do not allow a keymaker to make a key from the number so you'd have to go directly to the manufacturer in order to make an extra key (ie I only had that one key). I waited until Monday at 12:30pm to call Premier Locksmith. I was glad that they had a guy in the area they could send immediately. They quoted me a price of $90 to unlock the scooter. This is $40 to come out or the service and $50 to unlock the bike. Then, there was a 50% ($20) discount for yelpers right now (subject to change at any time I guess). So, $70 quoted to come out and unlock the bike. One of their locksmiths, Lucas Murgida came out in 5 minutes and unlocked the bike in 2 more minutes. Then he made an extra key for $10 (kymco keys are hard to get keyblanks for and this saved me the headache of owing to the dealer, and the long wait). $80 and ten minutes later and I had my original and a new copy and the ability to ride my bike again. Lucas has worked on many scooters and knows how to open these bikes sry confidently and quickly. I was told by Warman Security and Lockworld that doublesided keys were difficult to unlock ("they're a bear to unlock" along with a $175 price to come out). It seems they need somebody like Lucas to work for them, because he made it look like taking a hot knife through butter. Delicious. Remember that locksmiths charge more to come out later in the day, so call as early in the morning or tell them to come out early the next day it's later inthe evening an there's no emergency. Thanks premier locksmith and lucas, if any one of my friends has a locked scooter, he'll give you a call and ask for Lucas. read more

This is a great company! We needed a new handle and deadbolt for a garage door. After inquiring via email, we received a timely response and a detailed quote with a few appointment options. Their communication was on point and Matt showed up early and was respectful of our property and safety. He went above and beyond to make sure everything was working perfectly. They are so easy to work with, and we highly recommend! read more

I'd been having problems with my Honda for the past few months and last week it finally came to a head - my key would barely go in the ignition, and wouldn't turn once it was in there. After getting some phenomenally bad advice from the dealer (was told to force the lock - which broke the key off in the ignition, achieving nothing) I was advised to call Premier Locksmith. Elliott came to the rescue quickly and got right down to work. He got to the cylinder right away, repaired the bent tumblers, ground me two new keys, and reinstalled everything. It works like a charm now. I appreciate that he thoroughly explained everything he was doing during the repair and answer my inane questions. Anyway, I ended up driving my car home that night, and while it was expensive, I'm sure I would have paid more for a tow + dealer experience. And I'm happy to support a family business like this. read more

This is my second great experience with Premier. The first time around, I needed my locks changed and they had same day services on a Saturday --very professional, up front quotation, and reasonable priced. The work was done flawlessly by Matt. Today, John came by add overall security to my house. After analysis and discussion of pro/cons, he change/added deadbolts to my two main doors. He installed high quality Schlage products. John was finished in two hours and his work was excellent. They also gave me the $20 Yelp discount. I will use these guys again. Thanks very much Premier. read more

After a long rainy day I returned home to find that my deadbolt would no longer allow a key to turn. Called Premier and they had Adam out within an hour. He removed the broken bits, replaced the lock, provided keys and was on his way in 30 minutes. These guys are a life saver and are there when you need them. Not the cheapest (though I admittedly don't have any comparisons to offer)but you can't put a price on reliable, safe, and solid service. Recommended. read more

Support your local business! Elliott is top notch with his knowledge and service. I appreciated that he really took care of my mom when she needed help with the main entry gate. He repaired it without having to re-key the lock which saved my mom the hassle of maintaining several different keys. He was very fair with the quotes that he presented. My mom was also very grateful that he took the time to explain thoroughly all the options available to her. Thank you Elliott for treating my mom with expert care as if she was your own family. read more

I finally feel secure in our building! We live on a busy SF street and have had a few break-ins in the past 10 years and we were never sure how they got it. And we have had countless locksmiths out to replace locks and look at the door. Not one made recommendations to make it more secure. I originally reached out to Elliott for a commercial space. He was prompt in responding, incredibly knowledgeable and offered several recommendations so I hired him for that job. I realized quickly Elliott knows his stuff and sent pictures our residential building entrance. He was not surprised that we got broken into. He again promptly offered solutions to ensure our build is secure as possible and fixed it the next day. For the first time in 10 years, I feel like our entrance is secure and I can't thank Elliott enough. I highly recommend Premier Locksmith and Elliott. I will never all call another locksmith! read more

My gate lock was jamming and we were having trouble opening and closing the gate. I assumed it needed to be replaced. Elliot stopped by added some WD-40 and viola! totally fixed. The outer casing for my car key was cracked making it difficult to turn the car key in the ignition. I shopped around and Premier came in with the lowest price, actually half the price of another locksmith. I arranged a meeting with Elliot, gave him my broken key, he took it inside his mobile truck, grabbed a blank key, entered some numbers in the machine, inserted key, a minute later he produced a duplicate and had me test it out. I was in and out in 10 minutes, he was quick and knows what he's doing, thanks Elliot! read more

Elliott is prompt, professional and good at the work he does. My key broke in half on a cold foggy night in the Mission. 20 minutes after my call, the keys were made and I was on my way. Service calls after normal business hours are priced about 50% higher than normal hours, and definitely worth it when you need it. He also provided a receipt and tips on how to seek reimbursement through my roadside assistance insurance coverage, and set realistic expectations on what to expect with that process. Though I hope I won't need to use the service again soon, I'd be happy to use Premier and wholly recommend this business. Bonus: accepts Square for payment ++ read more

Elliot is the man! I got down to one set of car keys and though about preventing a terrible situation. I asked my dealer about getting new keys cut and the guy behind the counter recommended that i use premier becuase it would be cheaper and get the exact same results. So, i called Elliot and we set up a time. I went to him to avoid the service call (usually 50% more) i went to his house around 7pm and 15 minutes later i had two extra keys for half the price the dealer would have charged. Elliot was really nice and showed me the process and all his accredidations. Made me feel quite comfortable for a guy who is gaining 100% security access to my car. I asked him how much he gets out of yelp and instantly gave me $20 back when i said that i would write a review. what a guy! Highly recommend Premier Locksmith. read more

Elliott is a real pleasure to talk with on the phone - very welcoming, polite, and willing to inform. The locksmith that's serviced me (twice! once for getting locked out and once for rekeying my mailbox... I'm the worst...) always arrived promptly and was very friendly. One star goes off, however, for the time it took to complete both jobs. The mailbox rekey took 2 hours since the locksmith messed up and had to grind down the lock to fit correctly in the mailbox. Concerning the lockout - it took a while for him to finally break into the apartment, at least 30 minutes. read more

What a way to start a gorgeous Friday morning..locking my keys in the car.. Thankfully premier locksmith was able to quickly get to my keys in my locked car. Calling around to different locksmiths, premier locksmith was the most friendly, helpful, and responsive. I didn't start off my day so good, running late thanks to coworkers texting me at home to tell me they weren't coming in and dealing with some electrical sparks leading to zero lights in my house, I ran out the door in a hurry and forgot to grab my keys. Admittedly this has been a fear of mine for some while as I do not have a spare set, or rather I did not until about a half hour ago. Anyhow, once I realized my error I got to work and started calling locksmiths. Premier not only offered me the best price they also met me right when they said they would (which I appreciated as it was a bit rainy today) and the locksmith was patient, skilled and very kind. I highly recommend them if you ever find yourself locked out!! Thank you Premier Locksmith!! read more

When you get your purse stolen, you realize how many keys you have, le sigh.... Premier Locksmith came to my resecue changing out the many, many locks in my building without batting an eye. I am a chef. Opening a new kitchen for the non-profit that I work for and needed a couple of keys for my shed. I went to Osh, they didn't have the right key. I decided to call around the neighborhood as I really believe in spending my $$ locally whenever possible. I called the first locksmith on the list when I googled it. Elliott, the owner of Premier Locksmith answered the phone. He was very casual and said that if I could come within a half an hour, he could make my keys at home, that he had all the equipment. Hmmm. I thought about it for a moment, and because I really need these keys, I thought what the heck, it is daytime, I looked up the address and drove the 3 minutes away. Elliott had the garage door open with a baby gate in front. What I saw totally amazed me. Spotlessly clean floors, amazingly organized shelves, and a heck of a lot of equipment to make keys. I called out to see if he was there and much to my delight, a darling, fiesty bulldog ran out from the back, snorting the whole way toward me. He didn't have me at hello, he totally had me at the bull dog! I told Elliott that I was the one who called, and gave him the key that I wanted copied. I also told him how incredibly impressed I was at the state of his garage, and that I am a chef and how much I appreciate cleanliness and the organization of tools. While Elliott worked on my shed key, I got to know the bully boy better. He was so friendly and so darn cute, it really was too bad that my dog crazy seven year old daughter was not with me, or for that matter my husband, who totally LOVES bull dogs. My keys were done in less than 5 minutes and Elliott would not let me pay him. Do you believe it? In this jaded world? Amazing. Rest assured, this is the guy you want to trust with your fancy car keys, or the key to your house or wherever you lock yourself out of. Elliott at Premier Locksmith is honest, quick and gets the job done. read more

Great service - showed up on a weekend in pretty short order to fix the lock on my gate that kept breaking. Was the first locksmith to actually tell me WHY it kept breaking. I had assumed it was shoddy work or inferior parts from prior locksmiths. Premier actually explained how mechanical stress kept breaking it and offered a bunch of potential solutions. It was a little expensive for a short visit, but given the quality of the work and the knowledge of the locksmith, I'll let that one slide! I'd definitely call them again. read more

Met me 30 minutes after calling him to re-key my car ignition lock. Great price and service. Call him!

Thorough, great service, highly recommend. They were on time, diligently worked through my needs, and answered questions throughout.

This locksmith was amazing!!! I'd been trying to get AAA to send a locksmith to fix my ignition which had thrown a tumbler. Their recommended locksmith wanted $125 more than Premiere and had a 2.5 hour wait. I called and Elliott was at my house in less than 10 minutes, fixed my cars ignition and gave me great advice on getting reimbursed from AAA for part of his charge -- even breaking down the service call on a seperate line to make reimbursement easier. While he was on-site I also had him make some keys (the ones I had been using since moving into my unit never really worked well and occassionally I would find myself locked out for 15-20 at a time). He punched them right in my foyer and they're like a hot knife through butter when I use them. I will be using Premiere for all of my locksmith needs in the future -- both my residential and my business. Friendly customer service does not get any better than this!!! read more

If you need a locksmith, for whatever reason, don't look any further. Premier is The One. I've only had to be rescued by Premier twice and as circumstance would have it, on the same day several years apart. The day after Thanksgiving. The first time a deadbolt fell OFF a door, that was an adventure. Today I locked my keys in an apartment and thank goodness Lucas was available. He was there in less than an hour and had the door open in less than 30 seconds. I'd have been in serious trouble without him. THANK YOU Lucas & Premier. read more

These guys went above and beyond. I selected them because they had the best reviews on Yelp. I then found out they had a special online promotion going on, so I was pleasantly surprised by the price. Then I realized I would need the broken lock (which was under warranty) to have all of my expenses paid. They went out of their way to get the lock to me. They called me throughout the day to find the best time and location and drove the lock to my door. I was really impressed by that. Highly recommended. read more
