Honest, upfront pricing as well as responsive and timely (updated live eta with 5min increments as he got close). Got locked out and knew the price range ahead of time. They provided the best fair quote at one flat rate with no hidden costs. Note: always ask total cost for quoting. Found through Yelp Assist, who sent out my request details. From quote to fix took less than 30 minutes. I appreciate the honesty and service. Recommend. read more

I reached out to Friendly Locksmith and Security to help me fix a broken 100 year old mortise lock. I had taken the lock apart and saw that the problem was a broken spring, but I didn't know how to replace it. Other locksmiths quoted me close to $200 to fix this. To my surprise, I got a speedy text response from Vsevolod. He told me that while he was happy to come out and look, this was an easy DIY fix. He explained to me exactly what to do to repurpose the spring to fix the lock. I decided to give it a shot and his suggestion totally worked, saving me an expensive visit. This was top notch service, and if I ever need a more serious repair, I will definitely be reaching out to these guys! read more

Friendly Locksmith is a lifesaver! Long story short, I was locked out of my house with four bags of groceries, including ice cream. Not only did they show up incredibly quickly (10-12min) and got me back in the house, but they fixed the underlying issue (misaligned padlock) without damaging the original handle/lock on the door of our 99 year old house. Highly, highly recommend! Bonus: the ice cream was fine. :) read more

I had a single key fob for my Kona EV and cracked the housing when trying to change the battery. I ordered two replacement fobs but had to have them programmed, so I submitted a project on Yelp. Vsevolod replied quickly with reasonable quote and was able to come by the same day. He quickly programmed the new fobs and even cut the backup key blanks in each fob (which I had not expected). I'll use Friendly Locksmith again next time I need to hire a locksmith. read more

Friendly Locksmith & Security helped us with a difficult lockout. This lockout was especially challenging because it was a jammed mortise lock. A standard lock can usually be drilled out much more easily, but mortise locks are much more difficult to deal with. They were able to get it resolved in a timely manner and offered support for the future. The team was friendly and knowledgeable. Thank you so much for helping us. read more

From the first message, this locksmith service stood out. They asked the right questions right away, which let them provide an accurate quote without wasting time. Their price was lower than every other quote I received, and even though the work was done on a Sunday, there were no extra weekend charges. They estimated an arrival time of about two hours from when I contacted them, and they arrived exactly when promised. I needed my front door deadbolt replaced with a smart lock. Communication throughout the process was fast, clear, and helpful, so I always knew what to expect. Lisa arrived on time, completed the installation efficiently, and made sure everything was working properly before leaving. The entire experience was professional from start to finish. I'm very happy with the service and would gladly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable locksmith. read more

Prompt, professional, and great value! The best "lockout" service that I've experienced here in The City!

I went to my second home in Sausalito and discovered I had misplaced my house key. I called Friendly Locksmith & Security and Vsevolod asked me to text a picture of my lock. He quickly identified it as a smart lock and explained that it couldn't be picked. Instead, he needs to use a specialized equipment to scan the lock and create a new key. Sure enough, he had my door open in no time and even made me a complimentary extra set of keys so I wouldn't get locked out again. I was impressed by he expertise, professionalism and excellent customer service. I highly recommend Friendly Locksmith & Security to anyone in need of a reliable locksmith Even if you have a smart lock. Vsevolod THANK YOU!! read more

Vsevolod, who also goes by Simon, is a very good and extremely efficient locksmith! He got in contact with me ASAP, literally within minutes of me looking for locksmith services on Yelp, which already impressed me. I needed help after making a mistake installing my Kwikset 917 SmartCode lock and accidentally locking myself out of my office haha. Within minutes, Vsevolod asked for photos and gave me very fair pricing along with clear explanation of what might be needed if Plan A did not work and drilling became necessary. He arrived within about 20 minutes and got straight to work. He was very professionaly and extremely careful with both the door and the lock. My second 2015 Mustang key has been lost forever, and I didn't feel safe with just one set, so I finally had a minute and reached out to Vsevolod at Friendly Locksmith and Security based on his reviews. He asked for a photo of the fob, texted right back, and said that he hoped he could squeeze me in the same day after the job he was working on. He gave me a very fair estimate based on the photo. Vsevolod came by at the end of the day and got to work programming and testing the fob. He tested and retested it and had me do the same just to be sure. It is so great now to have this second key and avoid a bigger hassle at a later date. Vsevolod IS friendly, but there are so many other adjectives I would give him. Based on my experience with him yesterday, the name of his business should be Professional, Meticulous, Competent, Diligent, Earnest, Hard-working, Conscientious AND Friendly Locksmith and Security! read more

I needed a few locks re-keyed and, reached out to Vsevolod. He responded within a few minutes, and was able to provide a quote and offered to come do the job the same day! He arrived in the evening with his colleague, and they quickly and explained what they would do, what the pros and cons were of various additional services (e.g., installing additional spool pins to make it harder to pick the lock). Once we agreed on the plan, they did the work very quickly and at high quality. One of my door locks is a little tricky (when my contractor originally installed it, it was a little bit off and the lock wasn't smooth).
