Requested locksmith to my place. The locksmith who came gave me a quoted price once he saw the lock. I said that price is ok for me and to proceed. He then 30 seconds later after accepting price tried to upcharge me by an additional $40. I asked why and he said "the lock is old". Then I was able to negotiate back down. He was unable to open the lock anyway and suggested replacing lock completely and said "this will cost a lot more" and further asked for service fee, which he tried to upcharge from quoted price as well. I then tried to confirm who he works with and he told me he doesn't know the name of the employer because he doesn't speak English well. Did not allow him to break the lock down and replace. Overall had a poor experience and quite uncomfortable, but he did get there quickly within about it 20 min as he promised. read more

Gal was AWESOME. I live in Dublin and called him to help my elderly parents and elderly caregiver, who doesn't speak English, in San Francisco. I explained to Gal that I would not be able to meet him in SF and if he could correspond with me over the phone to discuss what needed to be done while he was on site. I had originally wanted him to disable the buttons on the mortise lock because we thought my dad was activating it, locking the exterior latch, and preventing my parents' caregiver from entering each morning. Gal saved us a lot of money by explaining that all that was needed to be done was to turn the key one extra turn. Gal also adjusted the door because it was hard to close at times and smoothed out the caregiver's keys to make it easier to unlock the door. Gal did great work, but what really stood out to me is what a great quality human being Gal is. Not only was he understanding of the situation with me living so far away, but he showed the caregiver how to open the door if it's locked from inside, took a video of the process so I could share it with the caregiver in case she forgets, had us on speaker phone because the caregiver doesn't speak English so I could help translate. His patience and understanding is of the highest quality, saying that we will all be that age at some point. He was very respectful to my elderly dad and caregiver. Gal is highly recommended! A Locksmith Master Ygai was hired to open up a safe that was older than the Titanic ship that sank. Nobody knew the combination so it sat there picking up dust for years. My locksmith showed up exactly when he said he would. Which was great. But after making a key to my car he realized that the key he made wouldn't both open the door and start the car. It would only start the car. After pulling apart my door he showed me the locking mechanism of my door with the key in it. He said there was no way I had been using the same key to both unlock my door and start the engine. But I had been. I had only ever been given one key to this car. And it both started my car and unlocked the door. I told him that and he told me I was wrong. That it must've been two keys. I don't appreciate being gaslit. If there's something you can't do that's fine. If you want to tell me, "Jeez, I don't know how you had one key that did all this, but I'm going to have to make it two keys." That's fine. It happens. But this is the reason women don't feel comfortable dealing with men when they have car problems. Because they'd rather accuse us of being crazy than admit that they're coming up short. read more
