When he couldn't help me himself immediately, he went to the trouble of finding some other locksmiths who would be able to come sooner. This is someone whose focus is on helping, not maximizing profit. I wouldn't hesitate to call him. read more

What a great find! If you are in need of a locksmith, call this company immediately. Reasonable price, fast arrival time, and efficient service. Went above and beyond for my difficult bedroom iron clad bedroom lock. I'm happy with the service and professionalism delivered by rhinoceros. Will keep him on speed dial! read more

I was locked out of my house on SuperBowl Sunday alone and frazzled with my two young kids under 4 and had a locksmith at my house within the hour to let me back in. Didn't have to change the locks. Best $125 I've ever spent. read more

I called the afternoon before and he was able to come by 8am the next day. He came 10 min early. The whole job to change the lock on our front gate was done in 20 min! And he gave as many copies of the new key that I needed, all part of the same charge. I would definite use them again! read more

Rhinoceros to the rescue again! Forgot to grab the keys when taking the doggo out for a night walk - just as I did a few years ago (!) - Brian hurried over to save me from being out in the cold for a more-than-fair price. He's also super nice and down-to-earth! read more

Wow. I messaged but didn't hire him because he gave me advice and I did it myself. Thank you very much! Saved me a few bucks but worth the knowledge and advice! read more

Excellent service. Fair prices. Good communication. Would use them again. Fixed my lock quickly and efficiently. Was able to re-key it to the original lock, and lubricated the door latch for me free of charge. read more

Fast and efficient. Brian came out in under an hour and resolved the problem in no time. I was especially impressed with how much knowledge he shared by phone before committing to the job and providing an upfront quote. It made me feel comfortable that he knew the problem, he was confident fixing it, and the all-in price was fair. He also provided detailed explanations on what he did and why he didn't recommend replacing all the hardware. Great service! read more

If I could give Brian 10 stars I would. On New Year's Day, after 9pm our neighbor called to say they couldn't open the keypad lock on our door to feed our cat!! The motor had failed. We were in a different state and the only manual backup key was with us. We called around in desperation and made an appointment with another locksmith to drill out the lock the next morning. We saw that Brian was in our neighborhood and gave him a call in case he could do the same sooner - he did better than that - in 20 minutes he'd MADE A KEY FROM A PHOTO that we sent him and opened the door for our neighbors. We did not meet him in person but he was very helpful and sympathetic on the phone and easy to work with. The cost was much less than a drill out & replacement. This guy is a miracle worker! read more

I cannot thank Brian enough. I have never worked with a service provider who has been so patient, competent, and kind. Our building's commercial dryer broke recently, and we didn't have the key that opens the lid to the electrical panel, and the dryer tech needed access to fix the machine. I reached out to 5 or 6 locksmiths and Brian was the only person who said he could help. He even called me to learn more about the issue and was SO nice over the phone. He came the next day and was able to open and replace the locks on the washing machine in less than 30 minutes at a reasonable rate. And now, we can have our dryer fixed. Brian really saved the day. Hire him - you will not regret it. Thanks Brian! read more

I have been targeted by burglars no less than 8 times in the past 10 weeks or so. I finally figured out that they took my keys, made copies and put them back. That was around the 4th burglary. They primarily target me for meds and any cash they can find. I can't leave a window open even a crack or they will find a way in. I am sure the perpetrators are my downstairs neighbors who can clock what room I'm in, when I'm sleeping, and so are on. They manage to take my keys every single time. So, Brian has been out to change the locks 4 times in as many weeks. He has been incredibly generous, and I appreciate his work ethic and fairness so much. And now there is not a single door in my house that doesn't lock. I highly recommend Rhinoceros Locksmith. read more

Brian was super responsive and helpful. I had an issue with an exterior lockset. He essentially diagnosed the problem via text and offered to come over and take a look within two hours of my reaching out to him; on the day after Christmas. read more

Brian is THE BEST. He came to my rescue on CHRISTMAS, in the middle of a rainy and stormy wintertime evening (past 8pm), and arrived within twenty minutes of me calling him, faster than the 30 minutes he had estimated, so that I could get back into my apartment. His price was MUCH LOWER than the price of a different locksmith I had called about six months earlier for the same locked-myself-out-of-my-aparment issue, which was a huge surprise, because I expected any locksmith would be gouging me on the cost, given it was Christmas night. Plus he's a super nice person. Amazing!!! Highly recommended!!!!! read more

Brian is great! Super great prices. I expected to pay triple from horror stories of other locksmiths. He even offered new keys no extra charge. Nice guy not trying to rip anyone off. He came super quick too. read more

Brian was very responsive late on a Sunday night and efficient and helpful. Thanks for all your help!

Quick, informative, affordable. This Locksmith was very knowledgeable and repaired my locks perfectly.

Quality, fast service at an affordable rate. Brian is professional, responsive, and arrived ahead of schedule. *I learned about this business from Yelp service request read more

We had a very old lock that was stuck in the locked position and wouldn't unlock. I called up Rhino and after a brief conversation and sending a few photos via text, he pulled up to our building in a truck with a giant Rhino head riding shotgun. Rhino was very quick and professional - he was able to open up the jammed lock after a few minutes and then replaced the entire mechanism and also cut us a few new keys. He's very quick and professional, and I would not hesitate to call the Rhino again. read more

I got locked out of my house today and called a locksmith. He arrived quickly and worked carefully to unlock the door without causing any damage to the door or the locked handle. The service was exactly as promised--there were no extra charges beyond the fixed price, and they even assured me that if he couldn't open the door, there would be no fee. True to their word, he swiftly unlocked the door and even made a spare key for me for free. I really appreciate his professionalism and honesty. Highly recommend! I really want to give 1000 stars. read more

He was able to come quickly and resolved our door issue without any problem. Very patient with us . Good service and helpful. Thank you

Tale as old as time.. got locked out of my bedroom at my new place without a key AND on a weekend to top it all off. Did a quick Yelp search and Rhinoceros Security Locksmith was the top choice in my area. I called and he was with an other customer. Called me back and I didn't answer as I was on the other line. He texted me and I was able to respond while still on the phone. He got here in less than ten minutes and unlocked my door in 30 seconds!!! Literally didn't have time to sit on the couch. He was that fast! I also need to mention that I did not have a key because the previous person who had this room took the key with him. He then offered to make two keys FROM SCRATCH for me free of charge!! Tell me what other local company would do that for you!! The answer is no one! This standard lockout costed $125! Other quotes I received from other local places were $175 and upwards. If you're ever locked out, Rhinoceros Locksmith Services is the place to call! Service in less than 20 minutes - start to finish, remarkable service, and again there's no extra charge for making me two keys from scratch!! 13/10 would recommend ! read more

I called to inquire about servicing and or replacing an original mortise lock for a home in the Sunset District. Brian (owner) answered my call quickly and provided excellent information. He does not work on mortise locks, explained the nuances of them and referred me to Designer Brass (San Bruno). He also gave me high level costs and told me to check out their showroom for potential savings on a new mortise lock. Amazing to have someone answer my call, share their expertise and give a referral these days! Thank you Brian! I will definitely use Rhinoceros the next time I need a locksmith! read more

Brian was great in helping us find a locksmith when he was booked with clients. Thank you, Brian

If I could give Brian 10 stars, I would do it in a heart beat!. He is the YES guy. His attitude is of the highest regard . When I called him to explain that I locked myself out of my bedroom, he quoted me THE MOST reasonable price ever!! There are a lot of slime bags out there who know you're desperate and will yank you $$$$. Brian did not. He ended up having to replace the lock altogether, and believe me when I say this, it was a real beast to remove! It took him three hours total to finish the job but he was diligent , efficient , and quality work!! On top of it all, he stuck with the original quote and did not charge me extra! He even offered to make extra keys for free. He is the epitome of SERVICE PLUS! He also mentioned that should anything go wrong, he will come back and fix it . He stands behind his work with confidence and dignity. If you look up the word SERVICE PLUS in the dictionary his picture will be right next to it! read more

I lost my house keys somewhere in Golden Gate Park. Based on other reviews, I called Rhinoceros Locksmith. Brian answered right away and promised to come over in an hour and a half. We discussed my lock (it's very old,) and he gave me a quote of $150 for rekeying it. He said if that was not possible, he would not charge me and would refer me to someone else. This is unheard of service these days. He arrived on time, and was able to replace the cylinder of my old lock and give me new keys. It took him less than an hour, he charged me the quoted price, and I am very happy, because to replace the 91-year-old lockset would have been $1000. Hire this man. He's the real deal. read more

Locked myself out today. It was 7:30pm on a Friday night. Brian is so nice, he even suggested some ideas that I could solve myself. That's how he earned my trust. He came around 8:30 and unlocked it for me without any damage to the lock. Highly recommend. read more

5 stars - legit business, good service, and as a bonus the lowest price I found too. I had an emergency need to re-key our apartment on a holiday Sunday night and was frantically using the Yelp estimator to contact a bunch of locksmiths, combing through negative reviews to try to figure out who was legit and who wasn't. Got the runaround from others that obviously promote heavily on this site and seem super shady. Thankfully, I found this service. Brian picked up his phone immediately, sent me a quote via text and was at our place within 20 mins as promised. He was very professional, kind to our dog, even helped with a quick fix so our door latched better. And I paid exactly what I was originally estimated. Given my brief experience dealing with other locksmiths who turn up higher in search on this site, this is an exceptional experience to find. Others were trying to pressure into me agreeing immediately, calling me from weird numbers, asking right off the bat for my address, and even weren't sure what locksmith they were representing??? Really the last thing you want when you're already freaked out about your home security. It's comforting to know he was the real deal, and I will absolutely recommend Rhinoceros Locksmith to others and contact him again the next time I need locksmith help. Thank you Brian! read more

Brian (owner) is my go-to locksmith from now on! His professionalism, punctuality, honesty, and prices are the most competitive in the business. All the other locksmiths want to take an arm and a leg from your bank account but Brian's prices are true to what he quoted before no matter how hard the work is or the extra time he puts into it! I highly recommend! Would give 7 out of 5 stars if I can! read more

Brian responded to my call immediately. I was able to text him some pics because thought I needed to replace my deadbolt. After seeing the images, he saved me money by recommending that I just rekey the lock. He came on time as agreed, was polite, friendly & professional. He got the job done efficiently at the agreed upon price. Thank you Brian. read more

I texted about a stuck lock on an interior door and got replies from about 5 locksmiths. Brian was the only one to suggest a reason for the malfunction (the extreme heat) and a solution. All the others said they would come over for $150. I tried the solution, waited overnight, and tried it again. Voila! No house call is needed. Brian may have lost that job but gained a customer for life. It's so good to know this kind of integrity still exists in the world. read more

Quirky owner but his prices are fair and he aims to please. I'd use him again for any lock project.

Brian was great about coming very quickly to remove a lock that we didn't have the key to. I so appreciate his fast and helpful wor.

Brian was excellent. Our door latched had broken and we were essentially locked in our place. While the work was very standard, Brian took time to explain what he was doing and answered many of my questions. Quoted a flat $150. He also noticed that the deadlock was not installed correctly and took time to fix that as well. Many handy-persons can often be very transactional, do the job, and leave. Brian of Rhinoceros Locksmith is one of those great neighborhood folks who is about the service and is ok saving you a few bucks where others will see an opportunity to charge you extra. Oh, and he also had like a 30 minute turnaround time to showing up on a rainy evening. Can't beat that timely service. He also took his shoes off in the house. Super considerate guy. read more

Wonderful..always great price, great service...trustworthy, ethical owner..better than best..have used him for decades...

I recently received a call from a resident who needed lock changed on a friday night! On short notice this company went out and took care of the issue and was punctual and charged a fair price! I appreciate the fact that they took care of this job on short notice and I will use them again ! I highly recommend and the resident was happy and was even given extra keys! read more

Awesome service. Called late on a Saturday when keys had been stolen. Came out within 2 hours and re-keyed the entire house. Actually made improvements as well, making locks that were "sticky" no longer stick. Reasonably priced. Would absolutely call again next time we have an issue. read more

Five stars is not enough! We called Rhinoceros Security late at night because of a house lock-out in San Francisco. Brian immediately sent us a link to a video with a possible method to unlock the door ourselves. We tried but it didn't work, so we called again. Brian was at the house in about 20 minutes. He persisted diligently, working on more than one troublesome lock, until he finally succeeded in picking three locks that were needed to let us in. We are tremendously impressed with Brian's promptness, determination, skill, plus generous help and advice regarding how to avoid such problems again. By contrast, we had called two other companies. Both of them told us to "keep the line free" for a call-back from their technician -- but we didn't get a response from either company until four-and-a-half to five hours later, long after Brian had already solved our problem. Thank you, Brian!! We will definitely be referring you to anyone we know who needs a great locksmith! We are very grateful and appreciative for all that you did for us in a timely manner. read more
