Mike made my eviction today of my tenant really easy. He took care of everything with regards to the locks gave me well. Labeled sets of keys was professional, even a bit humorous and much appreciated. Easy to work with. I hope to never need to evict someone again but if I do, I'll call mike read more

Great service, fast and efficient, reasonable price and very friendly. Would definitely use them again

He responded quickly and with a great attitude. In the end, my old locksmith was able to do the job. I would call Mike again if I need him.

If you're looking for a locksmith you can trust, stop searching and call Mike. After getting ripped off by another locksmith a few years ago, I was skeptical about who to trust -- but you can immediately tell Mike is different. He's honest, professional, fair with pricing, and truly knows his craft. What stood out most was how straightforward and reliable he was throughout the entire process. No upselling, no games, just quality work and someone who genuinely takes pride in what he does. That peace of mind is hard to find these days. There's honestly no reason to keep another locksmith's number saved once you meet Mike. He's officially my go-to locksmith for years to come, and as long as he's in business, he's the only person I'll call. Highly recommend. read more

Wow!! I could not have asked for better service than what I received!! We have a commercial grade key pad with an entry code lock on our door. While the key pad was working the lock was not opening. I called Mike and left a message. He called me back within 15 minutes!! He then came over within an hour an half on a Thursday about 4:30pm. He and was able to asses the situation, and determine a piece inside the latch mechanism broke, leaving our guests unable to get into our unit because of it. Mike ordered the part needed right away. I was not able to be at the unit, but Mike, communicated promptly and thoroughly with me each step of the way!! Then, Shawn continued with the same awesome service and communication the next day. He let me know he was able to get the part needed to fix the lock and was able to come over first thing in the morning. Our door was fixed by 10:30am. I again was not able to be at the location, but Shawn communicated with me each step of the way and sent me a video of everything working perfectly. Our guests were once again able to get into our business. :) Both Mike and Shawn were kind, prompt, and clear with everything they needed to do to fix the lock and accurate with when they would be arriving to the location. Again, I could not have asked for better communication and service!! I thought because the service was so awesome the cost was not going to be. But, it wasn't bad at all!! It was very comparable to everyone. Their rates were very fair and reasonable. I wish more businesses took the approach of kindness, communication, and professionalism Mike's Locksmith and General Services took. Thank you Mike and Shawn! You saved us hundreds of dollars in business and our guests were unaffected because of your prompt and reliable service!! I highly recommend them and if I ever need of a locksmith within the San Francisco area again, they are the only ones I am going to call!! read more

Shawn of Mike's Locksmith is the absolute best!! Our old Mortise lock broke, and we thought it'd be the perfect opportunity to replace it with more modern hardware. I called three other locksmiths before finding Mike/Shawn. Two of them wouldn't take the job because it was too complicated (we didn't expect this setback), and the other would, but the quote/consultation interaction felt off (initially told us it wasn't possible but after ripping through the packaging of our new hardware, he said it could be done; overall felt brash/unprofessional). We are so grateful to have come across Mike (found in the /asksf sub) and scheduled a consultation/quote with Shawn the next day. Shawn arrived on time and counseled us on the specific materials we'd need to make the new lock work (he even suggested more affordable options, but we were set on upgrading the deadbolt and handle). He managed our expectations on certain holes not lining up/will be exposed with the new hardware. On the install day (again arrived on time!), he walked through the work/what to expect and asked for our opinion whenever there was a functional or aesthetic decision point. Shawn turned this whole experience around for us; his deep expertise and thoughtfulness made him a delight to work with. I couldn't recommend Mike/Shawn enough and will be reaching out for all future lock-related issues. read more

Prompt, professional, fair, on schedule. We used his services a few times - today & 2 years ago.

Shawn of Mike's Locksmith provided impeccable service! He helped me through the entire journey of replacing my condo's front door hardware and evaluating possible repair needs on the back patio door (which has a complicated built-in lock). Shawn went above and beyond to honor his original quote --- even when the new, smart Schlage-brand deadbolt that I provided and he installed, proved to be defective. (Shawn spoke with Schlage customer support for 45 minutes trying to get the smart deadbolt to work and following all of Schlage's troubleshooting suggestions.) I ordered a replacement from Home Depot/Schlage, and Shawn kindly returned to replace the defective deadbolt without charging extra for this second trip. He had a great attitude, was professional, reliable, and very knowledgeable. I would definitely work with Mike's Locksmith again, and would recommend him to anyone for their locksmith needs. Thank you Shawn! read more

I appreciate Mike's honesty and integrity. He responded promptly so I could plan accordingly, and then did only what was necessary and advised honestly. When I thought I needed the locks changed because it was difficult to unlock the door, he observed and recommended just cleaning/lubing which solved the problem! That saved me a lot of money. I'll always call on Mike for any locksmith needs. read more

I called MIke in a panic after my garage was broken in to last night. Thieves got our keys from the contractor's lockbox which allowed them to gain entry, and they still have my house keys. I could not go to work or leave the house for fear of them returning and gaining entry to the house. Mike called me back within 2 minutes, was kind and comforting, and made a plan to get here as soon as he could (he had jobs with the sheriff's office and another job he could not re-schedule). He made my locks a priority and came immediatley after the other scheduled jobs. He arrived when he said he would, was thoughtful and supportive, and then reviewed all of the options. It is clear that he wants what is best for the customer. He did the job beautifully and even checked an uninvolved lock for me to test its security. This is the 2nd or 3rd time I have called him- he is in my speed-dial contacts because I would never trust anyone else with something as important as home security. He is a local Bay Area guy, efficient, clean, kind, and his work is meticulous and high quality. He had everything the job needed on his truck, and involved me in each decision. He is very fair and does not price gouge; he gave me all of the keys free of charge. He is a 5 star locksmith and grade A human. Call him, you will not be disappointed. No one is better than him. Thank you, Mike! read more

Mike's is an unreliable, unworthy overpriced service. Also their technicians on the road do not know how to drive.

When I called Mike he made an appointment for me the next day, between 9-11 am. Sure enough ~ 9:15 he called to say he was about 10 minutes away. He was incredibly efficient. Knowledgeable, he quickly changed the locks & had the foresight to give me keys that were shaped differently than the keys I was going to keep for an interior door. He was done quickly, put up with my chattiness, & even gave me a referral to a handyman when I told him I eventually wanted to have my door replaced. He's a San Francisco native (yes there are some). His business is located in Mission Terrace, so when you use him you are supporting a local business! read more
