I locked myself out just as I was leaving for the farmer's market on a Saturday morning. Mad at myself and in deep chagrin, I called around looking for a locksmith who can help me out, quickly, on a Saturday morning. Daniel's locksmith was the only one I found that was available and didn't have a more than 3 hour wait. The locksmith arrived within 15 min, was courteous, helpful, and efficient in his work. I was even able to make it to the farmer's market on time! Thank you for helping me out on such short notice. Recommend highly. read more

Called Daniel Locksmith to help with a August lock that ran out of battery power with no keys. Made arrangement for the next morning and he was promptly on time. Helped get through the very tough lock which I thought he was going to have to drill out. Made a key and saved me a lot of money not having to buy a new lock. Daniel is very cordial and very professional. A+++ and would totally recommend. Thanks read more

Daniel is a professional! He showed up in 15 minutes, the day after Christmas, and unlocked two doors in less than five minutes. Friendly, reliable and fast. Thanks for your help sir! read more

Was locked out of the front door. Didn't have my garage door remote control. I know! I'll get in via side door. Bad news, stuck the wrong key in the deadbolt and the key broke off. Completely off. I only had the top of the key dangling from my keychain. :( I called Daniel Liu of Daniel's Locksmith Service. He came about half an hour after the service call. He popped the broken key out of the deadbolt, cleaned and reinstalled my lock (DH had the second key so yeah, we got in). Daniel is very friendly and professional. His prices are also very very good. He fixed my father's lock as well and he has a key copying machine in the back of his car so my father was able to purchase spare keys (all under $1 - take that ACE hardware) from him. We're very happy with his services. read more

Fast, friendly, reliable service from an expert locksmith. Daniel is very flexible and was able to accommodate my schedule. He was prompt showing up and was even early which worked out great for me. Prices are very reasonable and inexpensive. He helped me change and rekey almost the entire house in around 1.5 hours. Thank you so much! read more

Attentive, skilled, quick and kind. Daniel has fixed our 100 year old - to present day doors, door handles/knobs. He does it all and is very clear and to the point in his process and his charging. He is the person to use! read more

Daniel called me right back when he saw he missed my call. He called to say he was unavailable, but he actually tried to see if he could diagnose a solution over the phone. he didn't have to do that. he didn't even have to call me back if he was busy, but he did. Thanks for trying Daniel! read more

Daniel responded quickly and efficiently and arrived within 30 minutes of my call, which was not an emergency. He examined our front door lock that was not latching and quickly figured out that the mechanism was fine and it just needed lock lubricant. He also fixed a deadbolt lock that was not aligned. The cost was very reasonable and he didn't charge us for the lock that just needed lubricant. We will keep him on our list of trusted repair people! read more

Our car was recently robbed. Among the stolen items was my laptop bag containing my personal information, including my home address. Needless to say, my wife and I needed to change the locks for our apartment and building asap. We called Daniel and upon learning of our learning, he arrived within the hour and changed the lock to our apartment. Since our landlord took some time to respond (and approve the re-keying of the building lock), we asked Daniel to come back a second time. Without hesitation, he was there at 9am the next morning to work his magic. Even though he came twice to our address, he waived the "visit fee" because he felt badly. He explained that he couldn't charge the "visit fee" in good conscience because he had just been there . . . wow! I challenge anyone to find a locksmith in San Francisco with a similar set of ethics. Daniel is incredibly efficient, friendly, honest, and provides a valuable service. I recommend him without reservation and will call on him for the remainder of my days. Rarely do I have the pleasure of writing such reviews . . . thank you, Daniel! read more

Last night I came home to a lock that wouldn't turn. I called my building manager, no answer. I called her again, no answer. I went to Walgreen's and bought some 3-in-1 oil to see if I could get it to turn over on my own. That didn't work and instead of feeling accomplished I managed to cover myself in grease. I called my building manager again, no answer. At this point I'm tired, hungry and have been locked out for 45 minutes. I start to call a variety of locksmith services. One says they can't get there for an hour. Another one puts my call through to a dispatch. Another one tells me it's going to cost a minimum of $150. Then I call Daniel and my sour evening turned around. He told me it would take him 15 minutes to arrive and that it would cost $80. I was worried that 15 minutes really meant a lot longer than that but nope, before I knew it he was at my door ready to help. It took him a total of 10 minutes to get me back into my apartment, if that. I rejoiced and writhed around on the floor with relief. MY APARTMENT!!! Afterward he wrote me a detailed receipt for my building management because, best believe I'll be getting reimbursed for that sh*t. Daniel also offered to talk with my manager if she had any problems or questions. 1 billion stars for Daniel...! He's a friendly and trustworthy guy with great service, which is more than I can say for a lot of shady businesses out there. read more

I just moved into my new condo and heeded the advice "Here are your keys, now go change the locks!" Daniel took my call and scheduled the appointment on the same day which impressed me. He showed up on time and was incredibly informative and helpful as he advised me how to make my garage locks more secure. After re-keying my deadbolts and knob I thanked him and he left. But wait, there was more! I forgot about the back door dead bolt. Daniel drove back and re-keyed that as well - for free. Daniel was such a knowledgeable, nice guy, and did great work. His price was also very reasonable. read more

Last night, I made a poor choice to hire a sketchy locksmith and overpay to get into my locked apartment, which resulted in me getting in - but parts of the lock mechanism were bent and so it no longer worked. Today I contacted Daniel, and he was patient to listen to my story and clearly explained to me that he could take the lock apart and try to repair it. He arrived on time and was very knowledgeable and professional. Daniel spent an hour and 20 minutes and fixed the lock, all for a very reasonable price. He saved me the hundreds of dollars that it would have cost me to replace the entire lock. I've done business with four different locksmiths in my life, and Daniel is by far the best! read more

You already feel stupid and inconvenienced enough, plus you have to pee. Why are most locksmiths like "you locked yourself out? Dumbass. What do you expect me to do?" Answered on my first try, at my place in 15 minutes, checked my ID before opening my dead bolt for me. He actually fixed my lock (it has been wiggly for years) and taught me the basics of about picking locks (You've been warned, Billionaires' Row). read more

He was sooooo helpful and fast when I needed help with an old lock on a door. He's really professional, friendly, and efficient. I will definitely be using his services for my future locksmith needs :) Thanks, Daniel! read more

Wow, who would have thought that having your locks changed would be such an enjoyable experience. I scheduled an appointment with Daniel for the following day and he showed up right on time. He's a very friendly and knowledgeable locksmith (he's been working as one for 15 years) - you can tell he really enjoys his craft. His prices were very reasonable and he was able to make copies of the keys onsite so I didn't have to go to a hardware store. He even made sure each key worked properly in the locks. I also appreciated his attention to detail: he warned me to be careful of getting any oil on my clothes for the first couple of days as he freshly oiled the lock. Would definitely recommend him to anyone who is looking for a trustworthy, knowledgable, and friendly locksmith. read more

Once Again Daniel solved a problem quickly. I was locked out of my apartment but in less than 30 min he fixed the lock and did a great job.

Daniel has been my go-to locksmith for the past 10 years. He always does a great job for a great price. I usually go to him to get locks re-keyed for my job with multiple keys made & he finishes within 15 minutes! Support your local business & go with Daniel! read more

Fast, kind and got the job done. My lock was pretty hard to beat, but he ended up tearing open the knob and replacing it - seamless and kinda badass. Will use him again in a bind! read more

Favorite locksmith ever (not that I have a lot of experience with lock changing)!!!! I wanted to get my locks changed after a roommate moved out, and when I called Daniel he offered to be at my house in 30 minutes. He was prompt, efficient, and clearly knew his trade well. He realized one of my locks was missing a pin and replaced it free of charge. Daniel's prices are very reasonable, and should I ever need a locksmith again, I will go to him. Thanks Daniel! read more

RESPONSIVE, FAST, PROFICIENT, DEPENDABLE. Had to rekey a lock quickly. Called Daniel and he showed up within 20 minutes and was done in a flash. He is excellent. I will use him again without question. read more

After waiting for 45 minutes only to finally be told by my homeowner association that the maintenance person wasn't available and that I should contact a locksmith on my own, I was thoroughly annoyed. I did a quick Yelp search and found Daniel. Not only was he so nice on the phone but he arrived in 15 minutes and was able to get me into my apartment within the next five minutes. He did all this with a smile and was so professional that he completely turned my night around. If you ever need a locksmith, Daniel is the person to call. Hopefully I won't lock myself out again but if I ever do, I know who I will be calling. Thank you Daniel! I wish there were more businesses like yours around. read more

I got locked out of my place an hour ago, when I called he picked up right away and said he could be here in 10 minutes. Wow, really?? I actually called another highly rated locksmith that quoted me way too high (Daniel quoted almost half that!) and couldn't give me a estimate on the availability/arrival right away. I don't have the patience to wait at 10pm on a Wednesday night! Anyway, Daniel arrived right on time, asked for proof of residence (something with our name and address for protection purposes) and unlocked our door very quickly. We complained about our lock being hard to use with our keys and he fixed it for us free of charge! Can't wait to recommend him to our friends! read more

Super fast, super reliable. Called at 6:10 and my door was open by 6:30. I've used him 3 times now. The prices have increased lately but he's still the best. read more

Locked myself out on a quick run to the grocery store. Dumb. The first quote I received was for $129 with an indeterminate wait. Called Daniel, he quoted $80 and said he'd be at my place in Russian Hill in 15 minutes. He showed up in probably 10 minutes, had me inside in less than 5 and charged $80 on the dot. And he did it with a smile. Quick, reasonably priced and courteous to boot. Locking yourself out sucks but Daniel made it suck just a little bit less. read more

I have called Daniel a "magician" or "wizard" to anyone I told my story to. Guy was a Life Saver... I was in a tight spot and am so glad I called him first. He was over in 20 minutes and got us into the apartment in 5 without damaging the door or lock. What a beast read more

Never had to use a lock smith before, but if I had to do it again I would use Daniel in a heartbeat. Called 5 or 6 places in the area around 4:45 on a Monday. They all had huge after hour charges and told me it would be better for them to come tomorrow...accept it was my front door and I didn't plan to stay outside all night When I spoke with Daniel, his rate was at least half what the others had quoted me. He said he could be to my house in 15 minutes and was there in 10. He fixed my door in 5 minutes and I went on with my day. Saved me a lot of time and money. read more

Our homeowners association has used Daniel's services twice. He is prompt, efficient, and very pleasant to work with. He fixed our front door and the door from our garage to our back yard. I highly recommend him. read more

I highly recommend this service. I had to have them make new car keys with the chip in them which can be very costly. After checking with most locations in the city this was the most affordable one and they came to me! Although it took some time for them to get to me, Asi, the guy who provided the service, was great to talk to and efficient. They charged me less than the maximum quoted price they had originally given me. I would trust this company to help me out again. read more

4 people flamed our - Daniel stepped up in 10 min! What a champ. Great price too when others tried to nickel and dime

Daniel was great. He always picked up the phone and was available when we needed him. He came over the day we called and was prompt with his service. My only con was that it was $79.79 for a change of lock an a mailbox which ended up being ridiculously simple. Something we could have done ourselves. I think $80 for that is a bit pricey, but nonetheless the service was good. read more

Initially I was a bit upset at having locked myself out of my apartment, but after discovering the best locksmith in town, I'm actually kind of happy about it. I found Daniel on Yelp after realizing I didn't carry my keys when I went out for an early dinner. I called him at 6:45 on Sunday evening and was back in my apartment 25 minutes later. I normally can't get food delivered that quickly. This is one special locksmith. He quoted me $80 dollars cash on the phone and let me know he'd be over in 20 minutes -- I didn't time him, but he made it to my place in closer to 10 minutes. He was able to get the door open without drilling the cylinder, using what can only be described as locksmith magic. He will definitely be my first call when I do this again next weekend. read more

Daniel was quick to pick up the phone and to set up a next day appointment and showed up on time. I called all the top rated places on Yelp and he was the best priced. He did the job pretty quickly. I was a little short on cash so he gave me a ride to the nearest ATM to pay him the rest of what I owed him as well. I definitely would use Daniel's services again. read more

I locked myself out of the apartment this afternoon. Found Daniel on Yelp, gave him a call. He had the most reasonable price out of everyone and great rating. Made an appointment, he was really flexible and punctual. Got me into my apartment in less than a minute. Miracle worker, I tell you. I know who to call next time! Thank you Daniel! read more

Daniel was awesome! We have an old building and the door knob wasn't working well and my DIY only lasted 2 weeks. He came out on a Saturday at no additional charge fixed the door knob and showed me a trick in case this happens in the other units so I can do it myself. He also fixed another self locking part of the door I didn't think was fixable. Very knowledgeable and trustworthy! Highly recommend! read more

Daniel is great to work with -- we've used him twice to change the locks on our home and our building and he's always been: 1) highly responsive -- same day appointments when he's available for no extra charge; 2) professional; 3) reasonably priced; 4) skilled at his locksmith craft; and 5) just a fair and really good person. Really one of the best locksmiths in San Francisco* -- and yes, he's really in San Francisco. For some reason, he's listed as being in Chicago but note that his business card in the photos, and that all the reviews for him are in SF. read more
