Was locked out of the front door. Didn't have my garage door remote control. I know! I'll get in via side door. Bad news, stuck the wrong key in the deadbolt and the key broke off. Completely off. I only had the top of the key dangling from my keychain. :( I called Daniel Liu of Daniel's Locksmith Service. He came about half an hour after the service call. He popped the broken key out of the deadbolt, cleaned and reinstalled my lock (DH had the second key so yeah, we got in). Daniel is very friendly and professional. His prices are also very very good. Our car was recently robbed. Among the stolen items was my laptop bag containing my personal information, including my home address. Needless to say, my wife and I needed to change the locks for our apartment and building asap. Since our landlord took some time to respond (and approve the re-keying of the building lock), we asked Daniel to come back a second time. Last night I came home to a lock that wouldn't turn. I called my building manager, no answer. I called her again, no answer. I went to Walgreen's and bought some 3-in-1 oil to see if I could get it to turn over on my own. That didn't work and instead of feeling accomplished I managed to cover myself in grease. I called my building manager again, no answer. At this point I'm tired, hungry and have been locked out for 45 minutes. I start to call a variety of locksmith services. One says they can't get there for an hour. Another one puts my call through to a dispatch. Another one tells me it's going to cost a minimum of $150. Then I call Daniel and my sour evening turned around. He told me it would take him 15 minutes to arrive and that it would cost $80. I was worried that 15 minutes really meant a lot longer than that but nope, before I knew it he was at my door ready to help. It took him a total of 10 minutes to get me back into my apartment, if that. I rejoiced and writhed around on the floor with relief. MY APARTMENT!!! Afterward he wrote me a detailed receipt for my building management because, best believe I'll be getting reimbursed for that sh*t. Wow, who would have thought that having your locks changed would be such an enjoyable experience. I scheduled an appointment with Daniel for the following day and he showed up right on time. He's a very friendly and knowledgeable locksmith (he's been working as one for 15 years) - you can tell he really enjoys his craft. His prices were very reasonable and he was able to make copies of the keys onsite so I didn't have to go to a hardware store. He even made sure each key worked properly in the locks. I also appreciated his attention to detail: he warned me to be careful of getting any oil on my clothes for the first couple of days as he freshly oiled the lock. Initially I was a bit upset at having locked myself out of my apartment, but after discovering the best locksmith in town, I'm actually kind of happy about it. I found Daniel on Yelp after realizing I didn't carry my keys when I went out for an early dinner. I called him at 6:45 on Sunday evening and was back in my apartment 25 minutes later. I normally can't get food delivered that quickly. This is one special locksmith.
