This locksmith is very talented! I brought a "do not duplicate" key for my decades old utility closet. Its imprint is type "E". He duplicated me keys with "I" imprinted on them and said come back if there are any questions and that my original key is very old. Now before this, I had tried Ace, which would not duplicate "do not duplicate" keys. Ace typically charges about $4-5 for standard keys. I tried a Key Me booth which wanted $10 plus 3-5 days to ship my non-standard key. Fon Locksmith charged less than both Ace and Key Me. I was a bit worried because "I" was different than "E" not just in imprint but also weight and size of the top of the key. I was mentally mapping out my future weekend for how I would repeat the lengthy trek back to Chinatown should I have issues. Lo and behold, I was so ecstatic when I came home and the keys he made worked!!! Bargain price, open 7 days a week, and true talented quality. Thank you, Fon Locksmith!!! Mr Fon and his son are honest skilled journeyman locksmiths. Their tiny cluttered shop is in the back of a fish market. A bit hard to find but well worth the effort. He makes keys for half the price that the hardware stores charge and does a fantastic job much better than hardware stores do. Managed to drop a set of car keys while crossing the street, and the transponder key got smashed to smithereens by cross traffic - yay well done me. Ordered 2 keys from remotesremotes.com and walked over to Fon Locksmith. $5 each and 6 minutes later - I was out. He said "come back if it needs adjustment - unfortunately I did need to return for a slight cut adjustment - another 3 minutes and I went out to try again. Tip - park your car nearby so you can test it and bring it back quickly if need be. 3 other hardware stores/locksmiths wouldn't touch the key since "I didn't buy it from them", and their equivalent keys (a normal key + a separate transponder fob) was about $100 or more. Thanks but no thanks. Just remember to sync your new transponder with your car, so the chip will allow the car to start and obviously lock/unlock. Google is your friend. read more

This is a really nice place to get copies of your keys and for several reasons. First being really high quality keys and the guys who work here make the keys very fast and good. Second it is really cheap. It is the best relevance for price/quality. They made three keys just for $5 and every key is even better than the original. Amazing. I had to get a key duplicated and first tried a KeyMe Kiosk, which told me that my key was "uncommon" and that it would take 3-5 days in the mail. I understand being prepared and all, but for many people who are trying to duplicate keys, there's some sort of time sensitive issue. Fon Locksmith to the rescue! As everyone else has pointed out, it's in the back of a row of shops in a wet market / fish market (similar set up to wet markets in Hong Kong, for people that have been). There's no signage, but you'll know it when you see it. He has keys / locks in the little stall that is his shop. The locksmith that my family has been going to for house keys. This place has been around for decades and is hidden in the back of a fish market. It can be hard to find, but it says Canton Plaza one the outside. The price to copy a key starts around $2-5 and the owner running the shop has a huge variety of blanks for doorknobs, deadbolts, cars and more. I have tried making copies of keys at Home Depot or Lowes before and the keys often don't work or open smoothly. The ones I copy here often work better than the originals. The owner does do service calls after he closes shop at night. I actually had him come over to my house a few times to rekey locks after my tenants moved out. Charges a reasonable price for his services, but be sure to bring cash. The owner takes a lot pride in his work and has been very reliable.
