Don't recommend them if you need a simple job done. They charged me for a call out service and minimum of one hour or labor when the lock required a spray lubricant that you can order on Amazon. I have used them in the past for a rekeying job and they were efficient and professional. But I found there charge for a service call plus an hour minimum of labor that only took 5 mins of time to be excessive. Or they could have explained to me you just need lubricant and you can order it on Amazon and only charged me for the service call. I guess doing business in the city is expensive, but I'm a small business owner too,. A little goodwill goes along way. I'll call one of the numerous other mobile locksmiths in the future. read more

I am in awe of the excellent work that locksmith Reid McConnell has just completed for me. My door could not open. There was nothing the matter with the lock, be he discovered the problem and he was able to adjust the metal that the bolt goes into and replace the weatherstripping so that now the door shuts easily and the key opens the door and double locks it easily. Last week I had my safe moved from my old house to my new condo. It required unbolting moving down a flight of stairs in my old location and up a few flights of stairs and re-bolting to the floor in my new home. I just finished getting a key fob replacement for my Infiniti. Excellent Service and good value. I am grateful they were able to get me right in and take care of this using an actual Infiniti-authorized key replacement. Last year, I had chosen to get a key fob from someone who was prob about $75 less. However, after a few months, the key fobs stopped working, and the person who did the work was nonresponsive. The keys the person used were NOT authorized replacements, along with most likely the equipment they used to program them. Bottom line, cheaper is not nec better. read more

Someone tried to break into my Jeep - they didn't get in but they ruined the lock. We were able to scream at him and he ran away. But it was so bad that we felt it would be very easy for aomeone to finish the job. So we wanted it fixed asap. Got a couple of recommendations for Lock World. Called them and they had to check for the part. Called back in 10 minutes said they had it in and if I got there by 2pm they could have it done by 4 or 5pm. we also had just had our drivers side mirror smashed - we had the mirror and were waiting for our mechanic to install it. DROPPED IN: I went to their location to get a spare key for my 2007 INFINITI FX35. Just the key, not the FOB. I came in, then they told me to pull my car in. I backed it in, so that I can easily drive off once everything was complete. They said to be prepared to wait and hour. They finished it all within 30 minutes. They got really busy after I arrived at 3:20pm. Best to come in before the rush. They were all kind and helpful. I would definitely recommend their services and go back to them again. read more

Brought my own blanks which were standard keys, not special keys requiring a laser cut or a complex machine, it was a simple cut and took about 2 minutes to complete. The person who helped me charged $10 to cut a basic key which is more than double what a basic key cut cost. They didn't care I brought my own blanks, the price was the same to cut with mine or their blanks. If you have complex key to copy, they may be good for that but I simply cannot recommend this business for basic key cutting based on their (over) pricing. I am updating my reviews systematically. I recommend Lock World. I have had them work on a vintage motorcycle, a 1990 Honda Hawk GT. They were competent, efficient, not expensive, and pleasant to deal with. I also want to mention something I think they have fixed. Google was listing them as out of business. I actually called the shop to bring that to their attention (this is a few years back, pre-pandemic). So don't pay attention if it indicates they are not there; they are, and they are doing fine. To offer details: I had them work on the bike long ago, when it was new. The bike was stolen on Halloween 1993, trashed by the joyriders, and it had to rebuilt. The miscreants had hotwired it, which damaged the ignition. Everything had to be rekeyed. The insurance covered that, but they would not pay to have the gas tank or helmet lock, both which were intact, redone to match. (If you are not a motorcyclist, a single key should start the engine, open the gas tank lid, and also slot into the helmet lock, which is hidden underneath and to the side of the seat.) The result was the keychain had two keys on it. That is not a big deal. But when I had the bike restored, I figured I should address this minor issue, not noticeable to anyone except me, in the interests of doing a good job, rather than my usual "half assed" approach as my wife describes it. So I went there, dropped off the bike, went to lunch at the Burmese place down the street, came back, and we were all set. read more

Lock World has done a great job replacing the Honda Element key and remote fob that I lost back in 2020 - I've been using a valet key for almost 2 years! The service was prompt and the key and fob work perfectly. The price was also pretty reasonable, although not cheap - consider it an investment. Backstory - I went to Lockworld years ago to get the cylinder for a locking (with key) Honda OEM gas cap re-keyed to my ignition key versus the basic/cheap key that came with the locking OEM gas cap. Now 10 years later, that gas cap is not in great shape in terms of sealing, and the staff there took the time to look up the OEM gas cap again to confirm they can cut a key for a new locking OEM gas cap if I get one. While here I also got extra sets of house keys made at a low price. All keys worked perfectly the first time. read more

Need a car fob duplicated and car key laser cut? This is the place that does it in the City. Other locksmiths in town, like Don's, refer Lock World to customers. So, the locksmith's locksmith! Call before heading over, to make sure they can service your car. They do many car fobs, but not all. Some companies, like Audi, do not license the equipment to locksmiths and can only be done at the dealer (or non-licensed locksmith with grey market software), so you have to go to the dealer to get it coded. But Lock World will laser cut the physical key for half the dealer price. Lock World currently will cut and program fobs you bring to them and their service prices are super reasonable! I ended up having them laser cut my Audi keys then took the fobs to Audi SF for programming. Note: Audi SF charged a one-time program fee ($275), regardless if you bring them one or more multiple key fobs and they will do fobs a customer brings in :) read more

Nestor saved the day. My keys were stolen in San Francisco with my bag. I was told by my Geico, my insurance provider that there was nobody available to make a key for my car. I would have to take care of it myself. I didn't have a spare (learned that lesson). Other lesson, always wear your back across and in front of your body at all times. I called Metro, but they couldn't do it. When I asked for a suggestion, they told me about Lock World. I was offered an appointment between 5-6. The truck arrived around 5:30. One of my safe deposit box keys was stolen and I needed a copy made. Of course very few places can cut these keys and few have the keys in stock. They happened to have the one I needed (which I assume is the standard safe deposit box key...whatever that means)... It was $25 plus tax -- which is a lot cheaper than what the bank would have charged. Although they didn't seem busy, I was told to return in 20 minutes...that was the only odd thing...but I went to the bank after the key was made and it worked... So no complaints. read more
