Chipped door latch from the locksmith trying to slide a card through to unlatch.
Albert N.

The pro was that they were quick to respond and that's about it. The cons were the following. 1. The locksmith, instead of picking the cylinder of the lock, tried to slide a card to force open the door. Which chipped the door, we photo below. 2. Tried to blame the door instead of taking responsibility. 3. Tried to superglue the chipped part back, dropped the glue which spilled on the floor, didn't help clean up his mess. 4. Was rude about the whole process and made it seem like it we inconvenienced him trying to make the situation right. I would not recommend this company. The customer service was poor and the technical skills were subpar.

the actual key received from the locksmith

Unfortunately I have to change my review for this company. I was sold a defective key that does not work. Upon driving the vehicle my car would not recognize the key (Chrysler Pacifica 2017). I took a video in order to explain the situation better to the assistant over the phone. The video shows that upon starting the vehicle w/ the key once turned on it it will state the the key fob has left the vehicle and it does not recognize it. The video shows clearly that this forces me to pull over even though the key is next to the dashboard it still wont recognize it. I have to pull over turn the car off and restart by pushing the key to the ignition. This happened multiple times and thus I thought it best to try and get a refund for the defective key. I would have had no issues paying the service fee, I was simply looking for my money back due to the defective product. However, see below as none of this has gone smooth. The next day I called to ask for (1) a refund because the key I was sold was not sold at a fair market value to begin with and I have video evidence that it is defective. Attached you will see the locksmith receipt for a key that was banged up and scratched vs the quote for a BRAND NEW KEY straight from the dealer. $545 vs $320.45. Instead I was offered a $100 refund on a bill of $669 not an option for me. At this moment I am working out option (2) work with the company to resolve the defective key issue in order to be able to drive the vehicle. I paid a hefty price for a product and it should be a product that works. I still have not reached a resolution and quite frankly working with this company has become a NIGHTMARE that I wish I would have NEVER called them. I have kindly requested an exchange instead of going the refund route in hopes that I can atleast get a key that works with my vehicle.

Ben? And his unorganized vehicle

Be sure to hire this company if you want to be dissatisfied and still have to pay. I googled a locksmith company and found, http://www.losangeleslocksmith.me/ I spoke to a dispatcher and I told them I needed a remote for my vehicle but I was also having issues with my ignition switch. He said "No worries, we will check it once we arrive". Ok cool, so I'm waiting and I get a call from another guy, which was this one, Locksmith SF. I assumed the other guy told him about my ingtion switch and the remote I needed programmed. But in was wrong, the guy gets out and checks my car, says its $200 for the remote. I ask for his name and he said something with a K, I cant recall. As he proceeded to find a remote, unorganized van, to program it, he brings out his phone and YOUTUBES a video on how to program the remote. As I catch him on the phone, he tried to quickly turn his screen off. That did it for me, the guy wanted to charge an arm and a leg for a $23 remote and 3 min job. I got in contact with a Ford technician, in Vista Ford Lincoln Woodland Hills, to confirm. I paid the guy $50 for the visit and snapped a picture of his car for this Yelp review. The 2nd time I ask for his name again, and he said his name is Ben. HE CHANGED HIS NAME QUICK! He tried to be confrontational as I walked back into my home, refusing his service. He walked towards my door and stood there after I told him that I no longer needed his service. As I asked him to leave the property, he kept saying things under his breath. I have video proof of how disorderly and unprofessional this man is. And I DO NOT RECCOMEND THIS SERVICE PROVIDER.

Technician did great job, service fee not disclosed clearly, and it was outrageous-almost as much as the job.

Don't hesitate to call for a quote. I doubt you'll regret it…read more Undeniably the best experience I've had dealing with a locksmith or any other car technician for that matter. In my case, it was 30 minutes from phone call to being back in my locked car. The price was affordable, and it was going to a small business.

I needed a keypad upgrade to my residential security gate door, which has a tricky interior layout…read more Not made for anything much larger than a deadbolt cylinder, and pre-dated most keypad locks. I researched a bunch of brands online, but the nature of the metalwork on the door turned this into more job than I could handle. I reached out to a few locksmiths in town, some that I've had good experiences with in the past, but everyone had the same line: you'll need a metalsmith to make alterations to the door in addition to locksmith services. Turns out Alex is also a metal worker, and has a lot of experience working with San Francisco security gates. He talked me through what he referred to as a "light industrial" setup, explaining the benefits and lower energy consumption of this solution. I didn't really need a wi-fi compatible smart lock, just a dependable keypad lock that I could easily set up and add/delete individual codes on. He answered on my first call, took the time to explain what would work best for my situation, offered free advice on a second door that saved me from having to do a retro-fit, got me on the schedule only a few days after I called, and did the installation in under an hour. Will definitely call Alex/Nova Locksmith again, and highly recommend them.
