Initially seated at the far back corner of the dining area while better tables were left wide open. We asked to be reseated and found ourselves at a more central dining table with a white tablecloth. Waitstaff were all friendly but the hostess who showed us our initial table seemed a bit glum while we were entering and also leaving. The appetizers were the best tasting dishes of the night. #1: margherita pizza -- tasted perfect #2: Caesar salad -- tasted great #3: asparagus special order side dish -- well prepared The mains fell behind other eateries with similar options: #4: lasagna -- didn't taste delicate enough nor particularly authentic (il fornaio has an incredible lasagna) #5: 16oz ribeye steak -- very tough and chewy without enough special flavor, not quite a $48 quality steak The desserts were awful enough that we left half uneaten and didn't take them home: #6: homemade tiramisu -- tasted too creamy and sweet, would prefer a lighter and healthier consistency #7: tres leches -- way too creamy, thick, and appallingly sweet, similarly would've preferred a lighter and more delicate taste to finish off the meal I believe our waitstaff tried really hard to help us have a memorable night and appreciate their efforts. I think more due care should be given to the minutiae of a diner's complete experience, starting with how diners are allocated seats (I suggest using the better seats first rather than leaving great seats unused with some groups clumped together in the back of the restaurant near the bathrooms), all the way to greater attention to a total food quality that matches the higher prices rather than validating the higher prices with the ambience and purported culinary abilities of the chef(s). read more

06.03.2022 Hubby and I FINALLY came here for a date night. We had the crispy fried calamari and a margherita pizza for appetizers. Both portions were large enough to share between two or more people. The calamari was good, we wished it was seasoned a little bit more and maybe fried a little bit longer. The pizza crust was crunchy on the exterior but towards the center it became a bit soggy. The cheese and sauce flavors were good, though. I had the lobster ravioli, which was a good size portion of five half moon pieces. I did enjoy the creamy sauce with that hint of lemon. There was a good amount of filling and the dough was not too think. I would definitely come back and have it again. Hubby had the chicken Parmigiana over a bed of tube pasta. The pasta was cooked al dente and the sauce was not too tart. The chicken was a good size portion and it could've been shared between two people. The chicken was breaded well and fried just right--crispy exterior and moist interior. Our server was very attentive and polite. We sat on their patio to enjoy the beautiful weather. It wasn't until towards the end of our email did the wind start to pick up and they turned on the heaters. I would definitely love to come back to try more pasta dishes. read more

I won a gift card to Prego from a raffle, so we decided to use it for lunch (more like dinner for lunch). We arrived right when they opened, and it was pretty empty, which worked out perfectly since we had a toddler with us. We ordered the linguine di mare, Australian lamb chops, a kids' pepperoni pizza, garlic bread, truffle fries, a glass of sparkling wine, and an Austin Hope Cabernet. The lamb was incredibly tender, and the pasta portion was huge. Even the kids' pizza was massive! We definitely had leftovers. The host and our server were super nice and so good with our toddler, which really made the experience great. Honestly, we probably wouldn't have discovered this place if we hadn't won the gift card, but we really enjoyed it and can't wait to come back to try more of their menu. We used to dine at Prego all the times when the restaurant used to be in the same complex as our office on Von Karman. We even had some of our office events there in the evenings. They moved away a few years ago, so did our office. Recently, our group went their new location at the Tustin Legacy for lunch for an office event. Prego was not very busy that day. There were only a few tables and our group in the dining room so we got good service. We had a few appetizers. I didn't try the asparagus but the fried calamari was good, as usual. I couldn't decide whether to order the prime ribeye or the sea bass as they both sounded really good. Waiter recommended sea bass so some of us went with it. That was a great choice. The fish was firm, moist and flaky, and very tasty. I just have to remember to order it with less sauce next time. It was a bit too much and I'd usually like light sauce on my foods. read more

The tomato sauce was watery and not developed enough. Overall, bland and boring. Sadly, I highly recommend to avoid this plate. They have a dress code (which I adore). I have never had a bad meal when they were at their Irvine location. Maybe it was an off night, but I was disappointed with my meal. I ordered the Sole Piccata, which is on their House Specialty menu and it was overcooked to the point where a knife couldn't cut through the sole! I'm not exaggerating. The table shook when I tried to cut through it. On the bright side...everyone else enjoyed their meals and I highly recommend The Refresher Martini! The place was amazing, big beautiful venue with a lot of different areas including private booths for dates. We got to see the chef walking around talking to tables but was very busy due to a big event happening on the other side. Tried the asparagus fries to share/start and two different pasta dishes. They were both big portions but also over salted without adding the Parmesan cheese, the waitress was super friendly and helpful. We went there this weekend for our 19th wedding anniversary. It seemed like a nice place based on the reviews. We took both our kids with us to celebrate. They put us in a table by the front door. No fan fare for the special occasion unlike other restaurants we celebrated like The Ranch, Anaheim White House, or Roy's. The service was OK. The food was delicious and had great value for the price. Surprisingly, I loved the fried asparagus. We'll come back again but just lower our expectations for special events. read more

It was a nice saturday and i wanted to take my bf out for a nice italian dinner! I found this place on opentable and looked at all the reviews before coming and it definitely did not disappoint. We both got a cocktail the espresso martini and their mule both delicious. Their ceaser salad not pictured was really light and and i believe they make their own dressing! Our server was super attentive and he actually recommended the lamb shank over the chops and we loved it! The lamb was so tender it just slid off the bone. The carbonara was delicious it wasnt super heavy like some can be, it was just the perfect amount of creaminess. The restaurant itself was a very italian style, clean neat interior. Let's just say the food was good, our server was also excellent, and the atmosphere lovely in their private back room. When I walked in, I got there early, and the restaurant was mostly empty, and so was the bar. I went in and ordered a glass of wine, which I got on their happy hour price, I later saw $5 less then the menu price. When my friends came in, I told them to get their wine at the bar, they only do happy hour there and our server agreed. Two of my friends did and were turned back to our table, told that if they are having dinner, they can't buy the wine at the bar on happy hour. That was crazy, we eat out constantly in high end restaurants, no one has ever turned us away from the bar telling us what the bartender was told to say. Apparently their Supervisor Delphi needed to be consulted to approve this request, which I did. He was difficult and made us feel like he was doing us a one time favor. Because of his unprofessional behavior, I think we'll try Luna Rossa next time, located outside the AMC movie theater, where we were heading. It's funny, this used to be my favorite restaurant and a few of the other gals with me too at their old location on Michelson. But when you have a large group, and the bar is empty and they play silly games like they did, its a big turn off. There is no discrediting the atmosphere, the food, or our server, but their Supervisor doesn't have the class or experience to be in this upscale restaurant. read more

This place does not disappoint! I was visiting LA for an event and stopped by for dinner. I was so impressed by the quality of the food! The lobster ravioli had whole chunks of meat - they were definitely generous. I actually thought I would still be hungry after eating it since there's 5 pieces, but it was actually filling! Though I didn't order the Carbonara, I was able to sneak a bite and wow, it was creamy, savory, and packed full of flavor. If you mix in the silky egg yolk, it's chef's kiss! It's located at the District in Tustin. We did not have any trouble finding parking. We sat outdoor, they have heat lamps should you need them. We needed them that day. I started off the meal with a Manhattan which if you drink manhattans you know not every place can make this drink well. This place makes a great Manhattan!! We got a margarita pizza as an appetizer (because we were starving and love pizzas haha). Simple yet delicious- I bet kids would like them as well! My main course was seafood marinara- it came out nice and hot on a cold day. It was perfect! The seafood tasted fresh and the flavor was great! on my way back from Santa Ana i wanted to try something different & yelp photos from Prego looked good.. i sat at the bar & was served by Delfo or Delfino; when inquiring about menu items he seemed enthusiastic about the San Daniele pizza. i want to try the pasta in the future but was looking for a simple lunch. the pizza was a splendid, simple pizza with a thin, crunchy, chewy crust, thin layer of tomato sauce & topped with creamy burrata cheese, prosciutto and arugula. the saltiness of the prosciutto complemented the textured creaminess of the burrata. next time i will order extra sauce because i prefer more tomato sauce but the toppings made up for it. i also had a moscow mule, standard & tasty. i ordered the tiramisu after contemplating other desserts. don't get me wrong, i ate the whole thing & it was good but far from a traditional tiramisu. i wasn't that into the chocolate shavings on the side & the actual cakes texture was quite.. textury haha. almost underdone with dry pieces of cake inside but overral still tasting good, just not what i was expecting for tiramisu & lacking in much coffee flavor. i still enjoyed it. i look forward to coming back & trying different items next time i'm in the area. thank you Delfo & Prego! read more
