Food was good ! Ordered the lamb bolognese and octopus. service was lacking, very disappointed. Might try again and hope for better service. We ordered a 100+ bottle of red wine and it came out ice refrigerated cold ! We had to warm it up with the napkins and our hands. Server just shrugged it off.

This place is literally my favorite Italian place I've been to in Irvine. Every time I go here, I leave so happy because the food is fresh and tasty. Their happy hour is my absolute favorite. Delicious cocktails, a huge salad, and pizza with fresh ingredients. The Diavola Pizza was a bit spicier than I anticipated but easy fix by just picking off all the red chilis. Wasn't sure if I was going to like the Caesar salad but the dressing was light and the amount of cheese on top was excellent. The bartenders are super friendly here and I love the indoor/outdoor seating. The interior walls and decor are modern and calming as well. If you want to watch sports, there's some TVs at the bar area for you but no sound.

This place looks better in person. I don't think the photos do it justice. It also doesn't seem to get crowded so you'll be fine without a reservation. You can get your parking validated. The pasta is handmade here. The pasta has a little kick but it's not spicy. You can get an espresso martini here but if you want fresh espresso it will be an extra $8. I had a great time celebrating my birthday here. They didn't give me a free dessert but they brought a candle out with my tiramisu. The service was great. The server was very attentive and nice.

Cute place tucked next to other restaurants and kind of under a parking structure when you walk through the entrance. We are always greeted when walking in and have been regulars here on Mondays. Ellie is our girl that always helps us and has remembered our orders haha I have tried a few varieties of food items here but my go to will always be the burger. Everything else I have tried, I thought was okay. The burger is good and I enjoy what it comes with, see the picture. The garlic truffle fries are delicious and I like that they are thin and crispy. Like that there are two dipping sauce for the fries as I'm not a ketchup girl so the aioli is perfect. Overall food is decent and will recommend the burger!

Wow Monaco is top tier! The inside is such a cool vibe. Beautiful, clean, and not loud. They also validate parking! Our waiter, Levi, was amazingggg. He was so sweet and helpful :) He answered all of our questions, made sure to continuously check-in with us, and made us feel so welcomed. I would absolutely come back based on the service alone! The food and drinks were so delicious. We ordered pizza, pasta, and drinks and were not disappointed. The food also came out quickly which was also very nice :) The only thing was that I ordered the cannoli old fashioned and it didn't taste any different than a regular old fashioned. But even then, the drinks were great and beautiful :)

Stopped by for lunch, since it was nearby the office. The restaurant was clean with simple decor. We have ordered several items to try out. The staff was attentive constantly checking if we needed anything. Beef tartare was tasty. Nicely spiced to spread over the bread. There was a hint of spiciness in the tartare. Chicken Cacio e Pepe had grilled chicken that wasn't too dry, but the over all noodles were a bit drier than I'd preferred. And Lamb Bolognese sauce was flavorful, but a few bites of the pasta was undercooked. Overall the flavor was good for a lunch service.

Has potential but there were some puzzling misses here. Monaco has a great location with wall that opens up to become a dining patio facing the street. The problem on the night I went was that it was fully open on a December evening without heaters on in the restaurant. At 56 degrees outside and everyone inside with their puffy jackets on, that is not a preferable dining experience. Half Caesar Salad - I was appreciative that there was an option to get half Caesar for $9 instead of the full for $16 since it was only me dining. The romaine lettuce was fresh, the croutons light and airy. The dressing lacked zest and bite (more like a ranch with a touch of caesar flavor) and the diced pancetta chunks didn't work. The preserved ham was chunky and hard, like having cut beef jerky in your salad. It would have worked better without the pancetta or with thin sliced, grilled prosciutto pieces instead. Diavola Pizza - This was tasty as the san marzano tomato sauce, spicy calabrese and black olives worked well. The crust was okay. It was like a cross between NY and Neapolitan pizza, but the crust wasn't bubbly enough on the edges to be a fully neapolitan. This brought out with a pizza stand on a metal pizza pan... But I never received a plate. So I started on my first slice eating over the bar top counter hoping a plate would be brought out but that never happened. Then I tried eating it over the flat pizza pan, but it being on the stand made it too high to comfortably eat. I figured out a solution... After the pizza pan cooled, I took it off the rack and just had that as my plate flat on the table vs. suspended on the rack. The food here is okay, but given the issues mentioned above, it all makes for an awkward dining experience. This is the first time I've had pizza at a restaurant without a plate. Even providing a paper plate like at local pizza joints that T-ballers mob would have been acceptable. There was no one really around to ask for a plate, by the time I could've asked, the pizza would have been fully cold. My server and the seating host were both nice, no issues there, but overall Monaco needs to tighten up some operational things to make this an at least average experience for diners. They do validate for parking for two hours if you dine here.

Monaco in Irvine was such a solid dinner spot. We ordered a little bit of everything and every dish hit. The prosciutto pizza with honey was the standout for me. The sweet and savory combo worked perfectly and the crust was done just right. The pepperoni pizza had a slight kick to it which made it more interesting than your usual classic slice. We also started with the grilled octopus appetizer and it was tender and flavorful, not chewy at all. For an entrée, the chicken Alfredo came with thick noodles and a rich, creamy sauce that felt really comforting and filling. To finish off the meal we shared the tiramisu and it was light, balanced, and a great way to end the night. Overall, everything we tried was well executed and satisfying. Monaco is a great option if you're looking for Italian food in Irvine that feels elevated but still approachable. I'd definitely come back

Came here for Happy Hour Drinks and the whole restaurant was empty. There's plenty of seating like restaurant seating, bar seating, and outdoor patio seating. We opted for the patio and the booths were big and comfortable. Our bartender/waitress was nice and helpful. Only downside was I asked her for well drinks and she told me to choose which, we did but a lot of them were charged as specialty drinks, wish she would have told me they were specialty and not well drinks before I ordered.

Enjoyed happy hour with a coworker on a Thursday afternoon. Espresso martini was fantastic to start the evening - sweet and flavorful! I didn't expect the napoleon pizza (can't remember the name but it had prosciutto, artichoke hearts, mushrooms, olives, and arugula) ... it came out looking like a sandwich, tasting like a pizza! I enjoyed the salty flavor of the prosciutto and all the fresh veggies. The Honey Cesar salad was a perfect pair with the "pizza". Great atmosphere where the outdoor seating was connected to the indoor, perfect evening! They validate parking up to 2 hours and there was lots of restaurant parking in the garage.

Discovered that there was a new Italian spot in OC so I had to check it out and try their menu! First off, the inside is very nice, clean, and modern chic, and the entrance is right next to the parking lot and Goldfinch/Izakaya Osen. My friend and I got the prosciutto pizza and the canestri all-amatricana, which was like a tomato sauce pasta with bits of pork/pancetta (?). The pizza dough was nice and fluffy, and I like the prosciutto x honey x arugula combo - imo I think the pizza could use more honey as it wasn't as prominent and the prosciutto was overpowering the flavors because it was so salty. Similarly, the pasta itself was decent but was on the saltier side from the pork and I personally think it could greatly benefit from incorporating other seasonings/herbs to enhance the sauce as it is a simple tomato base, but that's more so my opinion as someone who's not a chef. Overall, I genuinely think adding less salt dishes can definitely improve them as otherwise it was a good meal and the service was super nice as well. Would love to check out their other pizzas/pastas though + their brunch menu as I'm sure there are other hidden gems to try out!

    Arancini

Love this place already. I came at the tail end of happy hour and got Arancini and Meatballs from the Antipasti menu. Both were superb, so flavorful and so juicy (the meatballs!). We also got Cacio e Pepe with a side of prawns (came on a nice bed of greens). I really appreciate how our server kept our waters full, staff such as busser and manager checking in, and being so detailed (eg. when serving dessert, the server put down a napkin folded in a triangular shape to show off the name of the restaurant). The restaurant itself is gorgeous and they have some TVs and complimentary valet parking (depending on hours) and/or validated parking.

After a farewell dinner to/at Gulliver's Prime Ribs Of Beef, our party of six continued the evening several miles away at Stowaway for some light bites and libations. Personally, I was all about the Hawaiiana tiki culture and tried to live it every day. Founded by co-owners Leonard Chan and Dominic Iapello, its current home of barely three years in a former dive bar came about when they unceremoniously had to leave the original location. With its proximity to Disneyland's Enchanted Tiki Room and the very niche underground-like society of tiki culture, they found their footing with a consistent customer base and the thrill of island escapism through colorful cocktails, pleasurable pupus, and tropical trimmings. Would I stow myself away somewhere inside and never leave!? PURCHASE(S) Don Q Punch Bowl ($38.00): Made with Don Q's Cristal Silver, Anejo, and 151 Gold Rums, respectively, peach brandy, passion fruit, pineapple juice, and citrus juices, this flaming concoction was rumtastic in every way possible as the tropical juices just made it that much sweeter. There were more ice chips than I liked, but it was a fun trough to drink out of for the four of us who wanted to imbibe. Coconut Shrimp 6pc ($12.00): Breaded and flash-fried plump shrimp served with a sweet chili dipping sauce, these were tasty and perfectly paired with the Don Q cocktail I was drinking. Stowaway Fries ($17.00): Constructed with a pile of crisp golden spud sticks, rum braised pork, and topped with a hearty gravy and sunny-side up egg, this loco moco fries dish was slamming while the slightly charred juicy pork had me squealing with enjoyment. SERVICE We had reservations, so once our entire party arrived, they quickly seated us in a cool cave-live separate alcove for more privacy. Our server arrived with menus, suggestions, and glasses of water. Minutes later, we all ordered at once, and everything (drinks and food) arrived within ten minutes. Because we had another reservation inside the same bar, we informed our male server and to let us know when we were allowed to go there. All was casual, chill, and somewhat on island time - aloha and mahalo! PARKING (FREE): They shared a medium-sized private lot with several other businesses who were closed at this time with plenty of spots - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE Located within a strip mall, you opened the front door and walked into an island oasis as if you were a cast member on "Gilligan's Island" with thatched roof material above you, tiki statues displaced on all of the volcanic-looking walls, collections of tiki mugs past and present for purchase, a central square bar with plenty of stools, and seemingly small dark nooks and private spaces where naughty things could happen. No natural lighting whatsoever while an assortment of extremely low-lit electric lights barely guided you along. There were no TVs while I recalled various styles of music played in the background along with chatter and clamor of conversations in all directions. ATTIRE Although I was actually dressed appropriately for the occasion in an aloha shirt, linen pants, and flip-flops, this place was totally casual, so a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops would suffice. OVERALL I had a cowabunga time at Stowaway, and I couldn't wait to return to try more of their awesome-soundling elixirs. I loved tiki bars, and although this was generally out of my range, I'd make a special trip or two here. My one drink was lip-smacking good, the pupus were yummy, the prices were reasonable enough, the atmosphere was stupendous, and the service was friendly and professional. While the drinks menu was loaded with tropical cocktails, an impressive rum selection, and a decent assortment of local craft beers, the food menu was somewhat limited. And, the bar had happy hour TU-FR 4pm-6pm. Plus, I always preferred to support small local mom & pop businesses. I found complete value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $75.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 5.0 STARS

The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, and I can easily see it being a great date spot in the evening. Because our group was so large, I couldn't sample or photograph every dish, but here is my breakdown of the items ordered near my end of the table: 01. Arugula Salad (half) $8.00 - 3 Stars - Light and exceptionally simple, topped with red onions and parmesan cheese. Frankly, it was a bit too simple, the dressing was entirely unmemorable. 02. Prime Rib Dip $25.50 - 3 Stars - This arrived looking very promising. The fries were perfectly crisp, and the creamy horseradish packed a powerful punch (it will definitely clear out your sinuses). Unfortunately, the thinly sliced meat was slightly overcooked, dry, and a bit chewy. While the au jus was flavorful, I've definitely had better prime rib dips elsewhere. 03. Spicy Fried Chicken Sandwich $20.50 - 2 Stars - This was the biggest disappointment of the lunch. It looked great initially, but hiding a layer of mashed potatoes underneath the chicken was a strange choice that made the bottom bun instantly soggy. The chicken itself lacked crunch, likely because it was completely doused in what tasted like standard Frank's RedHot sauce (tangy and vinegar-forward, but not actually spicy). No wonder there are barely any photos of this online; I wouldn't order it again. 04. Lobster Roll $32.00 - 3 Stars - Beautifully presented with large chunks of lobster and a side of sweet potato fries. However, at this price point, it felt overpriced for the portion size. The flavor was a bit bland and lacked a "wow" factor. While I appreciated the use of butter lettuce to keep the roll from getting soggy, the lobster meat didn't actually fill out the bread end-to-end. On the bright side, the butter sauce was quite good. 05. Creme Brulee $12 - 3 Stars - A very standard crème brûlée with a decent portion size. It was served completely chilled, which threw off a few of my colleagues. While it's traditionally served chilled, some places serve it closer to room temperature, so this really just comes down to personal preference. 06. Fresh Seasonal Cobbler $12.00 - 3 Stars - As a massive fan of cobblers, I was underwhelmed. The berries were cooked down so much that they lost their form entirely, taking on a jam-like consistency. The crust layer was incredibly thin and soggy, making the whole dessert feel mushy. Luckily, the vanilla ice cream helped cut through the intense sweetness, but overall it was just okay. LOCATION/PARKING - The restaurant sits right on the corner and shares a parking structure with Monaco, The Trough, and Izakaya Osen. Valet parking is available, and the restaurant validates for 90 minutes. CUSTOMER SERVICE - The service seems to depend heavily on who you get. While the staff was generally friendly, they weren't particularly attentive, and we constantly had to ask for refills. To be fair, assigning just one server to a party of 14 is a tough ask, this venue is likely better suited for smaller groups. VERDICT - Overall, the menu feels a bit overpriced for the quality of the food. If my team decides to host another lunch here, I wouldn't object to returning.

I only tried the drinks here and they were all great. Service was great and attentive, and overall I enjoyed my time and view here! Great place to chat and lounge around.

Overall, the food, drinks, and atmosphere were great, but unfortunately the hostess experience kept it from being a full 5-star night. I had a 7:30 reservation and arrived at 7:35, but waited nearly 10 minutes before being acknowledged. The hostess was quite rude and told me we had lost our table because we were "late," even though I had been standing there waiting to be helped. She eventually seated us at a dirty table and the overall interaction felt unprofessional and unwelcoming. Thankfully, our server Omar completely turned the night around -- he was kind, attentive, and very helpful. The manager Dave was also amazing and made sure we were taken care of. The food and drinks were excellent. The cocktails were delicious, the hummus with warm pita was fantastic (definitely ask for extra bread!), and the melted cheese with toasted bread was a highlight. The fries were uniquely cut and perfectly cooked, and the calamari was top-notch. The view and ambiance make this a great place to relax with friends over tapas and drinks. I would come back again for the quality of the food, the beautiful setting, and the wonderful service from Omar -- but I do hope management addresses the front-host experience, as it really sets the tone for the evening.
