So let me tell you a little story about Comcast/Xfinity. I don't live in the state to which this…read morehappened but Xfinity and Comcast after repeated attempts close to 14 repeated attempts I explained to Xfinity that my 94-year-old mother who lives alone indicated community in Florida Florida was without Internet, telephone, cable. When we first called up back on October 4, we were told that they would have a crew come out by October 29 between the hours of one and five. Waiting 25 days to get your Internet hooked back up, especially when that's your lifeline to the outside world seemed a little bit ridiculous. Immediately calling up on one of my numerous phone calls we got that date moved to October 19, then that date unacceptable to anyone got it moved to October 15, 10 days too long. We then got the date moved to October 10, but yet we were on the waiting list of which we were told would most likely open at some point. I explained to the Customer Service department of Xfinity that she has no lifeline outside the outside her home. They reminded me that she has an Xfinity phone of which is correct. Have you ever taught a 94-year-old woman how to use a cell phone quickly? I strongly suggested as they told me that this call was being recorded that I recorded their phone call as well and the non-reaction of their customer service department was pathetic. I advised them should my mother fall going from her living room to her bedroom how she supposed to get to the phone, oh that's right the phone doesn't work and won't be working until October 10, so then I suggested your theory is is to put a pillow and get some blankets and leave her on the ground when she has no access ability to 911? No answer will put you on the waitlist and we are hopeful that you'll be getting on there and getting that issue fixed quickly, I asked do you have an emergency response team that can come out and address this, no we don't well we have a neighbor's ring doorbell that showed a Comcast truck parked right next to her neighbor. Nothing Comcast Xfinity could care less about its customers whether they be old, young or elderly, the only thing they are more concerned about is getting your check on time without delay. Unfortunately, Comcast and Xfinity are to the point where they're no longer a company. They're a conglomerate of money, hungry self serving, individuals in corporate mentality that it's the Company first customer's last. Well, the experience of Comcast Xfinity in Florida Florida may just be a glitch, I don't think it's just a glitch when such reactions are ingrained in their corporate mentality. Shame on you, Comcast and Xfinity shame on you putting your profits before the safety of your customers.

AT&T uVerse Fiber - Durham, Southpoint NC 27713 - It's great, once you get connected.... but…read morethere's a catch: the initial cable installation is temporary and the Buried Cable Service has to come and bury that fiber-wire. Therein lies the problem... and it's the same if they have to come back and fix it, lay a temporary cable, and have the Buried Cable Service Team re-bury the new temporary cable - IF it get's done, it will ONLY be if you berate them with the requests. You might have to get REALLY annoyed and upset with them to bury that wire, possibly report them to the Better Business Bureau and FCC. In my experience, our original connection took months to schedule - good that I didn't disconnect TWC (the worst service I've ever paid for - review another time). When the temporary fiber cable was finally installed by the AT&T service team - they did a good job - they were AT&T Service Tech. However, that's when I began to learn that the Service Team doesn't bury the wire, it's a Contractor.... and the Contractor's are awful at best. Once that initial cable got buried (2 inches below ground) - it got damaged - bitten by a mole. The repair took weeks... we were down. This is where the repeat frustration begins... a temporary cable get's installed... and service get's restored, but that cable runs across the street - which doesn't take more than a few days to get broken. Another call then goes into AT&T Support... after a week, another temporary cable get's installed, and... you guessed it, get's broken, resulting in yet another call to AT&T Support and waiting for a temporary cable. Eventually, the Contractor Buried Cable Service comes to bury the line and all is well. That is... until my neighbor who experiences all the above, has her line cut accidentally by road crews installing Fiber (Google-Fiber) down NC54. In the ensuing farce the AT&T Contractor who came out to fix her cable, cuts OUR cable buried underneath the road and uses it was a pull string for my neighbors cable (cause we wouldn't let him run through our property - imagine my livid reaction)! Several weeks result in calls with my screaming into the phone to AT&T Support and Supervisors with our phone and security systems and TV-Internet completely down = NOT amused. After several weeks, three temporary cables got installed and layed across the road, each got broken, each took days or weeks to fix. FINALLY, a couple of good 'ole southern boys from the nearby Greensboro Municipality team who'd been brought in to help with workload, came up with a better temporary fix, and strung the temporary cable from pole-to-pole (not on the road) and across the yard, until the Buried Cable Service could come and finish re-installing the buried cable that was cut by the previous Contractor. It took months before the Buried Cable Service showed up, but, there was no advance notice, and I found via my property camera's that there were AT&T guys on site - with no advance notice. Shortly, minutes later, I get a call from one of the onsite Contractor's about disconnecting our Service and burying the line. I told them, "oh hell not today, you'll have to come back, there's no way I'm having my cable and service disconnected, and go through a complete outage process again without my being at home and there to make sure it's functional". They hang up... and I watch them "bury" a cable anyways. When I get home, surprise, that cable isn't buried more than 1 inch... ~seriously~?? And most of it isn't buried at all - thank God it's not been switched over yet... Now the best part of it all = it's been over 4 months since that last Buried Cable Service visit - there's been no call back, I can't get a return call from my voicemails. The not-connected "buried cable" is still exposed... (and improperly routed through the walling of the middle of my garden). The suspended cable across the road and coiling around the side or the road and into the entrance gate and running across the lawn, is at least still active... I'm at least relieved that I have any service at all - grateful for that. I'm furiously annoyed that I know the cable WILL eventually get damaged - it's just a matter or time - ergo mowing the lawn has been a challenge to say the least, as has getting the leaves cleaned up (my property is surrounded by huge trees and buries the lawn each fall between Nov-Dec. SO believe it or not, my issues are STILL not resolved... Nobody calls, or calls back... Good luck to any of you who go down this road, but here's my two cents: If you are going with AT&T uVerse, bear these comments in mind and get a conduit properly laid in advance yourself, to facilitate the AT&T installation. AT&T doesn't arm their cable, it's an unprotected extremely thin and fragile fiber optic cable. Call AT&T Buried Wire Center at: 800-924-9420, Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. ET. This phone number is specific to cables in the ground that need to be buried.

When our internet…read morestopped working, we were given no explanation other than they were "fixing it" and service would be returned by 11pm that night. Looking at the outage map, it was considered low impact and didn't effect a large number of customers. Then the hours kept increasing, yesterday the outage map read 105 hours. 3 days later our fix no longer has a time estimate when we call, and the outage map now reads 105 hours to be fixed for the second day in a row. When we asked about a refund for the days missed, we were told we would be refunded zero dollars for downed service. Essentially we paid them to provide us with no service or customer support whatsoever. Thankfully it caused us to find Google was 30 dollars cheaper a month for the same service, so we canceled. They lost a longtime customer.

Upon coming across a couple issues with the install he was creative in developing appropriate solutions to ensure that the TV was mounted as I needed.  He also suggested alternative options to ensure that I was satisfied with the final outcome. He went the extra mile to develop a solution so that I had the best over the air TV I could possibly get at my location. His pricing was very fair even though he had to spend extra time to ensure everything was done to my satisfaction. He did not charge above his original quote. I would highly recommend him without hesitation.

As someone who was getting their tv mounted for the first time he talked through all the decisions of height, tilt, and how to minimize wall damage in our rental with me and gave me his expert recommendations given the layout of our room. He also went above and beyond for wire concealment and mounted our AT&T and roku boxes and power strip to the back of our tv to ensure the mounting was sleek and most importantly safe with all cords out of reach for our baby! So I found Cyber Dish online and gave them a call to come out and troubleshoot the problem. Chris came out, charged me $200, added an amplifier and moved the antenna around a bit in my attic (didn't actually mount the antenna, just laid it down against something, so it was pointing the desired direction). The signal strength seemed to be good on all of the channels, so I let him go. Then, just a couple of hours later, I started losing several of the channels again. It's arguably worse now than it was. This is all very intermittent. Sometimes they all come in clear, sometimes several go out. And of course, it's worse with the weather is bad. I also see that there is foil backed plywood all through the attic, and everything I read says that this is a huge blocker of digital signals. I reached back out to CyberDish, indicating that i was still seeing reception issues and voiced my concern about the foil backed plywood in the attic. I called Chris today and voiced my concerns. He gave me several things to try to troubleshoot the problem. All good things to try, but all along I'm thinking why after paying $200 is it my responsibility to troubleshoot this stuff. When I brought this point up on the call, that's when things went South. Instead of Chris just offering to come back out and make this right, it just turned into an argument. At one point, he said that it was working when he left. Seriously? He also said that the antenna could be faulty, as if to say that's not his responsibility. And let's see, he said that he's never had this issue with anyone else. OK, what's the point? I'll be happy to give Chris/CyberDish one more chance to make this right, and once this is working as it should, I'll be happy to alter my review. But as it stands, I cannot be more dissatisfied with not only the service, but also the follow-up.

The store location interaction was great at this location in Cary, the best part of the experience actually. The Deets: So I got the idea to try to upgrade my internet speed I was using through TWC/Spectrum and went through the process in doing so. I went online and usually you can find a way to facilitate these type of things when logged into your account etc. However, I was directed to call into their toll free number for this type of change, a bit frustrating for me but not impossible. The call process went a little better than expected, but at the last of the transfer chain (I had to speak with two or three reps to accomplish it all, so a bit complex) I was told I would have to trade in my modem with them for another to get the speeds needed...something not expected by prior conversations. I chose to go to a Spectrum store location myself to do this action instead of trying to set up a visit time. I'm glad I did, as this part was the best part of the whole process. I went to this Spectrum location in Cary, and found little to no wait (one person in front of me actually) and the transaction was quick and easy as they were open until 8pm and I went there in the 630-7pm time frame. As for the store I'd go with 4.5 stars just itself but the online and phone parts do make it a bit more complicated in all. The whole Spectrum experience was actually 3 star A-OK and less painful that I was expecting, with the store location interaction being the best part and so easy.
