I did a lot of research before switching to Directv. I made the mistake of not looking for Directv reviews and complaints. On march 20, 2023 I chatted with Bea on Directv's chat line from 3:46 PM until 5:29 PM, 1 hour and 45 minutes. He assured me he had checked all the 'promo' boxes concerned with my new account switching from Dish TV as he was signing me up for Directv. One of the promo boxes had to be filled as my order was being placed. I copied and pasted the entire chat. I tried getting into my new account March 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, and 27, 2023, to make sure everything went as promised. Every time I called Directv I was informed it would take a few days for my account to be set up. The services were installed on March 22, 2023 between 12:00 and 4:00 PM as Bea arranged. My premium channels were not available as advertised in the promo. I called and was informed the premium channels were not part of the promo. After having to call a few different departments I got the premier channels activated. 3/25/23 @ 6:31 PM I spent 1 hour 28 min trying to get someone to verify all my promotions were applied and help me get into my account to make sure the rest of my promo boxes were checked. No one could help or tell me. On March 21, 2023 a bill was generated showing I was to pay $96.23 in addition to the $96.23 being paid through autopay before March 30, 2023 which I did not receive until March 26, 2023. The bill was for services "Mar. 21 - Mar. 21". Service didn't start until March 22, 2023. See Attached. 3/26/23 @ 2:19 PM immediately after reading my email I called Directv and spoke with Shelly for 1 hour 14 minutes. She informed me something was not right; just ignore the bill and she would put notes in my account stating any late fees were covered if any were added. She could not verify if my other proms were added to my account. I told her I just wanted out of my contract. She informed me I had 24 hours to get out, after that I would be charged $480.00. Below are some of the documented times I was calling trying to get my account straighten out on March 27, 2023; 3/27/23 @ 9:59 AM I was on the line with Directv for 20 min 3/27/23 @ 10:38 AM I was on the line with Directv for 1 hour 35 min 3/27/23 @ 12:22 PM I was on the line with Directv for 35 min 3/27/23 @ 4:14 PM I was on the line with Directv for 12 min I was told many different stories. No one could tell me if my other promos were added. One gentleman informed me he had been working for Directv for 12 years and the other people I had conversed with did not know what they were talking about. If I did not pay my bill twice, I would be charged a late fee. Autopay paid it once and he took my payment $96.23 for a second time. I finally got into my account and read the following; "Your last bill of $96.23 was for the period ending Mar 20." See Attached According to their statements I paid; "Your last bill of $96.23 was for the period ending Mar 20." The bill was for services "Mar. 21 - Mar. 21", I paid $192.46 for services before my service was installed. See attachments My next autopay will be for $96.23 due April 12, 2023, $288.69 in 23 days. How can this happen? What can a person do to protect themselves?

It ain't direct tv customer service!

I'm 67 years old and this is absolutely the worst company I've ever tried to do business with. I recommend using dish network or any other tv system. I have spent over 10 hours on the phone with their so-called called customer service. These idiots couldn't spell customer service! They sent for technicians to my home one of which made the system worse the other three did nothing at all! These are the facts. I don't even have to exaggerate to make them dramatically true. Avoid DIRECTV like the plague!!!

AT&T uVerse Fiber - Durham, Southpoint NC 27713 - It's great, once you get connected.... but…read morethere's a catch: the initial cable installation is temporary and the Buried Cable Service has to come and bury that fiber-wire. Therein lies the problem... and it's the same if they have to come back and fix it, lay a temporary cable, and have the Buried Cable Service Team re-bury the new temporary cable - IF it get's done, it will ONLY be if you berate them with the requests. You might have to get REALLY annoyed and upset with them to bury that wire, possibly report them to the Better Business Bureau and FCC. In my experience, our original connection took months to schedule - good that I didn't disconnect TWC (the worst service I've ever paid for - review another time). When the temporary fiber cable was finally installed by the AT&T service team - they did a good job - they were AT&T Service Tech. However, that's when I began to learn that the Service Team doesn't bury the wire, it's a Contractor.... and the Contractor's are awful at best. Once that initial cable got buried (2 inches below ground) - it got damaged - bitten by a mole. The repair took weeks... we were down. This is where the repeat frustration begins... a temporary cable get's installed... and service get's restored, but that cable runs across the street - which doesn't take more than a few days to get broken. Another call then goes into AT&T Support... after a week, another temporary cable get's installed, and... you guessed it, get's broken, resulting in yet another call to AT&T Support and waiting for a temporary cable. Eventually, the Contractor Buried Cable Service comes to bury the line and all is well. That is... until my neighbor who experiences all the above, has her line cut accidentally by road crews installing Fiber (Google-Fiber) down NC54. In the ensuing farce the AT&T Contractor who came out to fix her cable, cuts OUR cable buried underneath the road and uses it was a pull string for my neighbors cable (cause we wouldn't let him run through our property - imagine my livid reaction)! Several weeks result in calls with my screaming into the phone to AT&T Support and Supervisors with our phone and security systems and TV-Internet completely down = NOT amused. After several weeks, three temporary cables got installed and layed across the road, each got broken, each took days or weeks to fix. FINALLY, a couple of good 'ole southern boys from the nearby Greensboro Municipality team who'd been brought in to help with workload, came up with a better temporary fix, and strung the temporary cable from pole-to-pole (not on the road) and across the yard, until the Buried Cable Service could come and finish re-installing the buried cable that was cut by the previous Contractor. It took months before the Buried Cable Service showed up, but, there was no advance notice, and I found via my property camera's that there were AT&T guys on site - with no advance notice. Shortly, minutes later, I get a call from one of the onsite Contractor's about disconnecting our Service and burying the line. I told them, "oh hell not today, you'll have to come back, there's no way I'm having my cable and service disconnected, and go through a complete outage process again without my being at home and there to make sure it's functional". They hang up... and I watch them "bury" a cable anyways. When I get home, surprise, that cable isn't buried more than 1 inch... ~seriously~?? And most of it isn't buried at all - thank God it's not been switched over yet... Now the best part of it all = it's been over 4 months since that last Buried Cable Service visit - there's been no call back, I can't get a return call from my voicemails. The not-connected "buried cable" is still exposed... (and improperly routed through the walling of the middle of my garden). The suspended cable across the road and coiling around the side or the road and into the entrance gate and running across the lawn, is at least still active... I'm at least relieved that I have any service at all - grateful for that. I'm furiously annoyed that I know the cable WILL eventually get damaged - it's just a matter or time - ergo mowing the lawn has been a challenge to say the least, as has getting the leaves cleaned up (my property is surrounded by huge trees and buries the lawn each fall between Nov-Dec. SO believe it or not, my issues are STILL not resolved... Nobody calls, or calls back... Good luck to any of you who go down this road, but here's my two cents: If you are going with AT&T uVerse, bear these comments in mind and get a conduit properly laid in advance yourself, to facilitate the AT&T installation. AT&T doesn't arm their cable, it's an unprotected extremely thin and fragile fiber optic cable. Call AT&T Buried Wire Center at: 800-924-9420, Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. ET. This phone number is specific to cables in the ground that need to be buried.

When our internet…read morestopped working, we were given no explanation other than they were "fixing it" and service would be returned by 11pm that night. Looking at the outage map, it was considered low impact and didn't effect a large number of customers. Then the hours kept increasing, yesterday the outage map read 105 hours. 3 days later our fix no longer has a time estimate when we call, and the outage map now reads 105 hours to be fixed for the second day in a row. When we asked about a refund for the days missed, we were told we would be refunded zero dollars for downed service. Essentially we paid them to provide us with no service or customer support whatsoever. Thankfully it caused us to find Google was 30 dollars cheaper a month for the same service, so we canceled. They lost a longtime customer.

So I found Cyber Dish online and gave them a call to come out and troubleshoot the problem. Chris came out, charged me $200, added an amplifier and moved the antenna around a bit in my attic (didn't actually mount the antenna, just laid it down against something, so it was pointing the desired direction). The signal strength seemed to be good on all of the channels, so I let him go. Then, just a couple of hours later, I started losing several of the channels again. It's arguably worse now than it was. This is all very intermittent. Sometimes they all come in clear, sometimes several go out. And of course, it's worse with the weather is bad. I also see that there is foil backed plywood all through the attic, and everything I read says that this is a huge blocker of digital signals. I reached back out to CyberDish, indicating that i was still seeing reception issues and voiced my concern about the foil backed plywood in the attic. I called Chris today and voiced my concerns. He gave me several things to try to troubleshoot the problem. All good things to try, but all along I'm thinking why after paying $200 is it my responsibility to troubleshoot this stuff. When I brought this point up on the call, that's when things went South. Instead of Chris just offering to come back out and make this right, it just turned into an argument. At one point, he said that it was working when he left. Seriously? He also said that the antenna could be faulty, as if to say that's not his responsibility. And let's see, he said that he's never had this issue with anyone else. OK, what's the point? I'll be happy to give Chris/CyberDish one more chance to make this right, and once this is working as it should, I'll be happy to alter my review. But as it stands, I cannot be more dissatisfied with not only the service, but also the follow-up.

After I switched I kept having issues with my calls, but thought maybe it was my phone since I'd dropped and cracked it. I bought a new phone at Spectrum and paid for it in full. This did NOT solve my problem!!! After a month of stress with losing calls on a daily basis I decided I would go to the store. Once there I found out from the employee I was locked in for 90 days! It made no sense. I can't use the phone and I owed them nothing! I called 611 to talk with more people but after getting the 3rd person, they still told me I was stuck with them. Who does this in this day and age??!! I'm livid. If you are considering using them for phone, I highly recommend you ask about their 90 day lock in policy because if you have the issues I have, you will be stuck. This is so wrong. I will never recommend them for this reason.
