I was an IWATCH customer for five years. They were a small veteran owned family business and had…read moregreat service. Recently they sold out to a national conglomerate and I quickly became a number. It was a bear trying to get through to anyone that knew anything. I would continually get transferred from person to person to person and never got anyone that could resolve an issue for me. I always paid annually in advance and it was time for renewal. That said I migrated to another company that's family owned and couldn't be more pleased.

For several years, I had a security system provided by another company. My prior security system…read morewas 3g and outdated, and my prior security provider did not contact me about the 3g sunset in a timely manner. I decided to find an updated security solution with another provider. After looking at reviews for local security service providers, Iwatch Security stood out based on their consistently high reviews. I reached out to them in late Aug 2023 for an evaluation and estimate. I was soon contacted by a sales rep/advisor and we made an appointment within a couple of days. The rep evaluated my home and current system and prepared a solution with some upgrades (a doorbell camera, enhanced control panel, system controllable with phone app, etc.) and investment/purchase options. I accepted the system proposal and an installation was scheduled. The technician came and did a great job replacing my prior system with the new components. Wherever possible, he placed new components in the place of old components which minimized aesthetic issues. Afterwards, he efficiently went through the required forms, account setup, and other administrative tasks. He guided me through using the new control panel and app while also configuring some of the basic functionality. I have been very pleased with my experience with Iwatch Security.

I attempted to start service with this company and spoke with a sales representative who scheduled…read morea technician to come to my home. When the technician arrived, he tried to charge me an additional $20 for a window tag. I was under the impression that a security system should already include securing both doors and windows. I decided to give them another chance and called the same representative to reschedule. We set a new installation date for September 9, 2025. I even took the day off work to be available, but no one ever showed up. I contacted CPI and spoke with a manager, who assured me I'd receive a call back from a supervisor and the sales rep--but that never happened. This experience was extremely frustrating. If this is how they treat potential customers, I can only imagine how they treat current ones. I ultimately had to call back just to request a refund for the taxes I had already paid on the equipment. DO NOT go with this company.

Not only are their prices higher and contracts longer than anyone else, there are predatory terms…read moreburied in your contract. Before signing anything, you should understand that you ABSOLUTELY WILL BE CHARGED 100% of the FULL term of the contract -- no matter what. It doesn't matter if you have a valid reason for disconnecting service, such as moving outside their service area (do you realize they only operate in 4 states? They don't mention this when they tell you that your contract is portable). No matter what the circumstance, they will continue to charge you every month PLUS the cost of equipment (this can be several thousand dollars) and there is nothing you can do to stop them because of the terms of the contract. They can change the amount you pay each month, they can pass fees and upcharges to you from third parties, and there's nothing you can do to terminate. It's all buried deep in the contract that nobody reads. These are not industry standard terms, and they are not made clear when you're signing the contract. Basically, unless you are absolutely 100% sure that you will definitely not have any change of circumstances for the next 5 years, go with another company.

This is an average business at best…read more When I bought the house, the cameras and control panel were already installed. I just had to take on the $50 per month charge. In exchange, the company left me hanging. Any and every time I need answers or instructions on how to operate this, or change settings for that, it takes a long phone call or chat experience that goes nowhere. If my alarm goes off, they are right on it. Great work there. However, with Vivint, the customer comes last. Need help? Last. Got a service order needing completion? Last. Expecting a follow-up? Last, last, last. Horrible customer service. Their outgoing service people do good work. When they come out, they work hard and generally know what they are doing. I've had two experiences with them. However, recently I had a guy come out to work on my garage door. After two hours of failure, he said he'd need to get a better part and follow up. That was weeks ago, no phone call, no email, no follow-up, and my garage door still won't open. I'll call them to see why they forgot about me. Again. Because, yes, this has happened before. As long as everything works and you don't need ANYTHING until your home is burglarized, or don't need them otherwise, Vivint is a good company. Okay bye.

Do not use Vivint under any circumstances. Im sorry for independent contractors who rely on Vivint…read morebusiness but vivint is a horrible company. They will do everything in their power to refuse to cancel your account even after moving...this includes hanging up on you. Been trying to cancel since November, finally called the bank to dispute the charges.
