Chris was awesome. Came over and replaced my old Dish with a new Antenna. I'm scanning 65+ channels and no cable bills.

It is almost worthless. Instead of a password for the WiFi you just connect to the network and then you are sent to a login page when you open your browser. Except you aren't most of the time. After repeatedly connecting and disconnecting and restarting your laptop sometimes you do get to log in. Sometimes you get a decent connection speed. Sometimes it slows to a crawl. Sometimes you get randomly kicked off the network and then you have to go through the whole ordeal of trying to get connected again. I called their support line and they couldn't help. Their only suggestion was to go to the hotel lobby and try to get a connection there. It didn't work any better and frankly, going to the lobby to use the hotel WiFi is ridiculous. Fortunately I have my own mobile hotspot and I've been using that more than the hotel WiFi, but when I'm paying good money for a good hotel it would be nice if I didn't have to use up my own limited data. I have stayed in much cheaper hotels that had much better internet service.

But I was very impressed with the fact that an employee came up to me before it was my turn and asked what I needed, and told me if I wanted to skip the wait I could just turn my equipment into the mail, I believe at USPS free of charge. He was extremely polite, calling me ma'am and patiently hearing my story, as I'm quite the rambler. I let him know I was interested in other services as well, but that I appreciated it. At this time I was standing near the front of the store, where it was packed, and I set my equipment down on displays and stood to wait. He kindly let me know about the other section on the other side of the store I could wait it, and it was empty with plenty of chargers. I happily took my seat and waited. The gentleman appeared to be hispanic with curly hair and glasses, and a slightly heavier set build. I only mention this in hopes he gets recognition, because I didn't get his name and his kindness stood out to me. I sit, I wait, and an hour later I'm called up by one of the most pleasant customer service representatives I've ever met in my life. Her name is CRYSTAL - and she ROCKS. She was knowledgeable, quick, patient, and extremely personable. She seemed to be very wary of the long wait and valued my time, asking if I had any place to be because we had to wait for something for a few minutes. I let her know I was perfectly free and had no issue waiting a few more minutes. After all, I'm here for a service, I don't expect things to happen lightning fast. We had some confusion due to my own overdue bills and trying to determine what my balance was for the day. She made EVERY effort to double check every number and make sure I wasn't charged twice, and that my old balance was completely settled. Some people may get frustrated when employees ask someone else for assistance or advice, but to me - it tells me she CARES that it is done right and doesn't just wing it with every decision. She had a manager who was a middle aged white lady, again I forgot her name but she was also a complete pleasure. I let her know how awesome Crystal was as well. By the end of my time with Crystal I was informed, extremely happy with my services and new equipment, and damn near made a friend. We were laughing by the end of the transaction, and I almost wished I had more problems!! She let me know about why my old bills went up , which was because I had signed up on a promo but was never told when it would end. She didn't want to screw me for my money, she wanted me to be AWARE of when , how, and why my bill will change in two years. Effing outstanding.

I pay for the really good internet too, but multiple times a week theirs service outtages for any reason whatsoever. A little windy? Service outtage. A little rainy? Service outtage. Nice clear sunny day? Service outtage! It must be the infrastructure or something that they don't want to invest in. It must be cheaper to repair whatever the issue is every week than actually replacing, or moving it. As well, this company's representative ran my credit without my permission to offer me their (probably just as terrible) phone service. To add to this, after running my credit they automatically put me on some internet assistance program that temporarily made it cheaper, but he didn't tell me that he did that and acted like he was giving me a good deal until six months later my bill is fifty bucks higher than agreed. You would think during an age where everything relies on internet that they would figure this stuff out, but I have a feeling that it's just a cheap company that's selling garbage for a high profit. If you have the option to not give this company your business I suggest you go with someone else. The service interruptions are just way too frequent for said service to be considered "good".

We really wanted to have better internet, and went for the Spectrum package of phone, internet and TV. We cancelled our Direct TV on September 6th, 2024. We had the bill on autopay. We had been charged $160.00 /month for that service. On March 3rd, 2025 I received an email that said my Direct TV bill was now $225.00/month. My husband called Direct TV and they confirmed that we had cancelled our service and they had continued to bill our autopay. When we had called in September we asked about returning the TV boxes. We were told that a box would be sent to us so that we could return the boxes. This never happened. After 10 days we called Direct TV and said that we had not received a box. We were told that one would be sent. This never happened. When we called on March 4th about the bill, my husband spoke with someone that said their billing went to September 20th. So we would not be reimbursed for that month. We were told that we would receive a prepaid credit card for 4 months. We drove to Henderson, NC 14 miles/one way to the UPS to return the TV boxes after we had packed them. We were told they could not accept them and we would have to drive 26 miles one way to the UPS facility in Wake Forest. When we got there, the boxes were repacked and mailed to Direct TV. Since it has been a month since our contact with Direct TV, my husband called, . About 4 days after we sent the TV boxes back, I received an email that said not to return them but to recycle them. Now it has been a month when we have complied with their initial request to return the boxes to get our refund, and have not heard from Direct TV. I had my husband call Direct TV. after being hung up on twice, he spoke to a lady that said that it takes 60 days to resolve this. So we should expect a check by May 4th. No problem with Direct TV, just what I have written. With all of this, I would not have Direct TV, and AT&T said no contract and we went several times to the Raleigh AT&T office and explained that we were told no contract. And phone calls were not helpful in cancelling the contract. I had stopped at a booth at Sam's Club in Wake Forest where I spoke with a guy Alexandre, when I contacted Sam's Club they said they had nothing to do with this they had just rented the space for the booth. No matter how old you are, you still have lessons to learn. Hopefully, someone will read this and not make the same mistakes. My father and best friend had Direct TV. We signed an agreement for bundled service at a set price that we were very happy with. Wow did the nightmares start after that. DO NOT TRUST what they have you sign. Ours turned out to be useless. He didn't run anything through correctly, ATT&T depts don't let you email what you signed, they just tell you what they can see on their end. We spent no less than 10 hours on the phone over 2 weeks with dept after dept in a bureaucratic mess. I felt bad for the call center people who tried very hard but are stuck with what they are allowed to do even when they try to fix it and understand the ridiculousness of what happened. They said it's an issue with these neighborhood sales. You are taking a bet that any of it will actually stick. The useless contract you sign doesn't seem to go beyond their tablets. They either have to enter the deals they promised you later or you will just get a zero discounted, way more than whatever company you gave up, crazy bill. And then another and another in a short time. I am looking clearly at exactly what we signed but no one can do anything about it. And they do not accept emails. Minimum 2 hours at a time on the phone. Almost every day. Told repeatedly it's being escalated. Only to start over with the next agent/higher dept. Never fixed. No accountability. Ghosted by the manager who only left us with a girl he was training's number. She (Areli) seemed sweet but stopped responding when I said the department I was talking to was asking for his full name and contact information so they could clear this up. He clearly told her not to give it. Left decades with Verizon for this absolute nightmare that we still can't get out of.
